Bridal Shower Menu

Sarah, on April 30, 2018 at 3:47 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 18
My sister, my mother and my best friend are all planning my shower. They have asked for some input of what I would like to see for the menu. They have rented a hall and are looking for a caterer. I don't want anything like, breakfast-y, but I also don't want a big, heavy meal (Mother wants heavy, heavy Italian food for a Sunday afternoon). Does anyone have any menu suggestions?

My shower was in a restaurant, and it was lunch, not brunch. There was a mixed greens salad to start, then a choice of a grilled salmon, a French cut chicken breast, or a pasta primavera with veggies, and then dessert was individual creme brulees. Everything was portioned appropriately for the time of day, and everyone seemed happy with the choices.

Maybe some kind of light sandwiches? Like a panera type catering, sandwiches, soups, and salads?

We're doing Jimmy John's mini sandwiches with pasta salad, taco salad, and a vineyard salad for our meal, complete with a few different types of chips!

For dessert we have mini lemon cupcakes (MOH makes them and they are to DIE for omg), pretzel salad, chocolate covered pretzel rods, and make your own mini fruit pizzas!

For drinks we have pink lemonaide, punch, sweet tea, coffee, and water. All super light and easy to digest.

I LOVE my menu and you are more than welcome to steal some ideas!

We did caesar salad, quarter sized club sandwiches, arancini and fruit/cheese/crackers tray and it was PERFECT. Had about 40 people and people were raving about the food. very crowd pleasing and not too heavy, but plenty of food to go around.

I might suggest finding warm salads and dips that you enjoy and asking to serve those if you don't want a heavy meal. They tend to be inexpensive or easy to make if someone is preparing them instead of ordering. They also tend to be filling and will feed a good number of people, so you don't have to worry about people going hungry. I hope you are able to find a compromise so you will all enjoy your shower!

All this sounds exactly what I would want. Super simple, easy. However, my mother has stated multiple times that she is paying for this and it’s about what she wants and it’s not about me. I’m getting extremely frustrated with the whole process!

Well that is 100% wrong of your mother to say. It's not about what she wants at all!! And all about what YOU want youre the bride. It's nice shes paying but not if shes doing so just to make it her way in the end. I would be very frustrated too.
