Bridal Shower Mayhem

Caitlin, on January 6, 2021 at 2:23 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8
All my family lives near Chicago. I live about 15mins from Wisconsin. Most restaurants are closed near my family with certain ones still open. I thought i would find a place with a decent price for such a small group. My moms house is too small for everyone. Max 18 if that.
I know my friends will be hesitant to go to my shower if it's far into Chicago. But also my mom is making it very hard about me having it at my bridesmaids house. I want a mermaid theme. Im super excited for. My mom called it a childs party..... yeah i was balling my eyes out.We looked into peerspace but they mostly have stuff on the northside. Im good, i just wanted a house then we can have full control.OR a restaurant but they are like 30 bucks a person.. idk im stressed out.

Getting an airbnb might be a viable option in terms of having a venue to host it at

though i will say having 18 people party right now doesn't seem like a good idea unless you can socially distance everyone safely.

Ignore the negative comments. While you should not be planning your shower, see if the planner in charge can rent something through the parks department.

Try to ignore the negative comments. A mermaid themed bridal shower sounds like fun!! I would suggest an Airbnb, but since the pandemic, I think they stopped allowing parties and events at all locations listed.

Have you considered having a virtual shower?

If traveling to Chicago from Wisconsin, a 10 day quarantine is required. Chicago is outdoor dining only, and currently freezing. Tables are limited to 6 guests and a 2 hour limit.

🤣🤣🤣. I would suggest checking an Air B&B or even hotel ballrooms if there are any near you.

A mermaid theme would be fantastic!
    IMO ...
1-whoever is hosting/paying needs to let you know what they can afford to spend. If you are willing to chip in, awesome. If not, let hostess dictate shower details.
2- find venue based on budget 3- left over money goes towards food and that determines how many people you invite. Free venue = more food/drink/decor4- put remaining money towards mermaid theme. 5-send an invite to your mom and don’t discuss anything prior to the shower with her. 6- enjoy!
