Bridal Shower Favors

Abby, on December 9, 2018 at 1:47 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 20
My bridesmaids are working together to put together a bridal shower for me next month! My MOH is in charge of the party favors and she was asking me my opinion of what would be good party favors. What did ya'll have at your bridal showers? What's something easy and cheap I could give her ideas about?

Not mine, but my friend had some cute dollar tree kitchen utensils (spatulas, whisks etc) and boxes of brownie mix. And had some cheese boards and cheese as prizes.

Most showers I have been guest at for years have not done favors. If they have games, they have spent money on prizes for those, since even a pound of cashews, or having someone bake 2 dozen cookies as a prize, or buy a small bottle or 2 of liqueurs to add to coffee, or a bottle of wine, runs 5-10 dollars. And gets pricey if little favors are added on for 20 or more. See what their budget is. Favors can be fun, but should be the last item in the budget, as like wedding favors, most people leave them behind, or throw them out at home. Even good favors.

Luckily no one person is paying for the whole bridal shower. My bridesmaids all took a job so each of them is in charge of a different part of it so just doing favors won't break her bank.

Is it a girls only? What’s the theme or style? That could make a difference in prizes and favors.
I would do something cute, simple, and personal that would remind the guests of you.

Do you have a theme? If so you could tie the favors into that. Edible favors are always good, or something like coffee, tea or alcohol.

Not really any theme at least that I know of. It is girls only though!

No theme that I know of! I've seen cute bags of little treats or candies that could be cute!

Yeah it's awesome! One of my bridesmaids is hosting it and got all the other girls to participate in some way! 5 of them in all.

We did plain rubber wine stoppers and bought a couple of stems of smaller blush-colored silk roses. We used hot glue to glue on flower to the top of each stopper and put them in small favor boxes we found on clearance at Michael's on top of some wrapped chocolates (the shower was right after Easter, so I bought spring-colored kisses, etc., on clearance). The "theme" of the shower was spring flowers (if that counts as a theme; right after Easter was a great time to get deals on all kinds of silk flower bouquets, signs, etc...). I doubt each favor cost much more than a $1, and we only had 25 guests, so it was very doable. We wrote each guests' name on a favor box, so they doubled as place cards and looked really cute on the table.

That basically gives you free reign then! I still stand by edible favors, but also want to throw in candles or hand lotions as well. I see your wedding is in March so if you live some place cold like me I think your guests would appreciate a nice candle or hand lotion for that awful dry winter skin.

Edibles are definitely pretty safe but I do like the idea of candles or lotions! I'll pass along the ideas. Thank you!

My go to for favors are always flower pens. Hot glue a big fake flower head to the end of a pen and wrap the pen in floral tape. So cute and cheap and everyone loves them.

My friend did little boxes (ordered them on amazon) and filled them with honey grams, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows and had a tag that said "S'more Love" with their wedding date. I have also seen little bags of popcorn with tags that say "Thanks for Poppin' By" You can get seed packets for flowers pretty cheap and put a tag on them that says "Watch our love grow" Another friend of mine did little hand sanitizers that said "Bride Tribe" You can get mints and have labels that say "Mint to Be" A friend of mine dipped pretzels in chocolate and put them in little baggies and tied a ribbon around them.

I honestly don't remember having favors at my bridal shower... I think the catered lunch & seemingly never ending bottles of wine were nice enough lol
