Bridal shower disappointment

Michelle, on September 30, 2019 at 2:26 AM Posted in Parties and Events 1 5
Just posting to rant, really.

Had my bridal shower Saturday. My mom, godmother, and friend went all out with decorating and planning.

Minus the 4 of us, only 4 people came. My mom invited over 30. These included my 9 cousins that live within 10 miles of where it was hosted, my 5 aunts, most of whom live within 10 miles, and various other people. Half of the people never responded to my mom reaching out to confirm after the RSVP deadline. Many of them said they'd be there and didn't show.

Of the people who came, 3 people wore white too, which I found odd.

While my mom was really upset, I'm just really disappointed.

And then it ties into wedding anxiety of fearing no one is coming to the wedding.

I don’t get this - why don’t people make a priority to attend such happy occasions... we are only given so many. sigh.

Anyway, we are here for you to rant to, for sure!! We are here to virtually celebrate you!! And your wedding will be joyful and beautiful whether 1 or 1,000 attend! ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear this!! What is wrong with people??? It's so rude to RSVP yes and then not show up--for anything you're invited to.

It's also really rude not to RSVP when invited, and make the host chase you down. I just don't understand what people are thinking. And I agree with Fleur, that there are not enough happy occasions in our lives, so why wouldn't you attend them all?

Hopefully this is no indicator on your wedding attendance. I'm sure people will try a lot harder to attend that.

Sounds like my bridal shower. I invited about 20/25 people and only 9 showed up. My own MIL didn’t even come!! I even talked to people a few weeks before that and they said they would show up and didn’t. Please don’t worry about people not showing up for your wedding though. If you build it, they will come. Lol
