Bridal shower cancelled

Felicia Klee, on March 22, 2020 at 11:26 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
Hi all, I was forced to cancel my bridal shower as our county is completely shutdown for the foreseeable future. What are some ideas to make up for this? I’m so sad.

You could send a personalized note and favor to each guest that was going to attend the shower ! And if you are planning to have a shower still when all blows over just add that to the note “new date to follow”

If you want to have it soon, I just attended a virtual birthday party for my best friend. We all got out own drinks and snacks and we talked and played games online, it was surprisingly fun and easy. Would you consider that?

Absolutely! I’m just really sad that it’s a once in a lifetime experience and I’m losing out on it so I’m willing to compromise anywhere!

This is something that used to happen more often, when fewer couples who had everything , got married. When a shower was cancelled, sickness, the venue for shower closed, and it was too close to a wedding, an after wedding housewarming of shower type gifts, often originally bought for the shower, were set aside and at a better, post-wedding time, when the couple was back from their honeymoon and rearranging their home to make room for wedding gifts, they would do a nice, shower format party. So you don't miss it all. Your hostesses might be unhappy if you never get a party, and prefer a post wedding housewarming party to a virtual one. Rather like baby showers and early births , or expected problems, when the shower is after the baby is born and home, not for pregnant mom but for new mother. Still the same, refreshments and showering the new bride /mother with gifts. A lot of people will get bent out of shape trying to compress so much into the last month or two before the wedding. When canceling the original shower, the hostesses can tell everyone it is only postponed til after the honeymoon, as a housewarming. See what reception that gets.
