Bridal shower 10 months before??

Mary, on May 3, 2020 at 4:18 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5
So my fiance and I just postponed our June 12, 2020 wedding to May 29, 2021. We're trying to figure out when to reschedule the bridal shower to. We are moving across the country in August, so we might only be here untill August and maybe again during the holidays before our wedding. Would it be weird to have the shower in July before we leave? Is that too early? Also what are your thoughts considering the pandemic? We live in upstate NY. I would really like to have a shower it's already been rescheduled once

Also many people have already bought gifts for the shower that was cancelled and some have sent them to our house.

I would not have a traditional shower anytime soon and I’m not sure if restrictions will even be lifted enough to do so. I also wouldn’t want a shower this far out from my wedding. Maybe you could do a virtual shower closer to your wedding date.

I think that is way too far in advance.

Just popping in because I read “Upstate New York”! My FH & I live in South FL, but he’s originally from NY (a small town called Rome) so whenever I see those words, I get so excited lol. We were actually thinking about having our engagement party there - around Syracuse or Adirondacks area - since that’s where the majority of our guests live.

Anywho. The “official” rule for when to host your bridal shower is 2 months prior to the wedding, which in my opinion is too close to the big day! Especially if you plan on organizing an bachelorette party too. Personally, I’d say a shower can be done 4-6 months prior to the wedding. 10 Months prior should be something like the Engagement Party. Best of luck!
