Bridal Registry

You can do a registry if you would like, especially if someone throws you a shower. Otherwise, you can skip it all together, and guests will typically default to cash.

We’re having a destination wedding too, but we still made a registry. We kept it simple, since we already have lived together for a while. We figured a registry was easier for the friends and family that aren’t able to travel for our wedding but wanted to give a gift.

I'm always in favor of at least having a small registry so that guests who really like to buy a physical gift can give you something you actually want instead of random stuff. Most online registries allow guests to ship gifts directly to your house so they don't even have to worry about packing them. You can also add a cash/honeymoon fund right on there to round it out!

Everyone can use upgrades of household stuff and matching items. Be aware that if you don’t register, you will get gifts you don’t want and can’t return. Not everyone gives cash. Physical gifts are required for a shower. Register for matching items, upgrades, fun stuff you enjoy, things you want but wouldn’t buy yourselves.
