Boudoir Photos

OldSchoolKindaLove, on January 21, 2020 at 3:44 PM Posted in Married Life 1 14

I am turning 30 in less than a month and wanted a way to boost my self-esteem and maybe increase the intimacy in my marriage. After a rough first year, purchasing our home, and moving things have been lacking in the intimacy dept. My husband doesn't know I am taking the photos, all he knows is I am having my hair and makeup done for my birthday. I think he is suspicious, but will never guess this. I wanted to take photos before our wedding, but I didn't get around to it. I did take one photo in my robe and lingerie I wore on our wedding day and he loved it. So I know he won't be opposed to having a few more.

Debate: I should give him the photos for Valentines Day, or save them for our 2 year anniversary since we didn't really celebrate our first. (Decisions, Decisions...hmmm)

If anyone has done a session do you have any advice you wish you would have had prior to the session? Also, I am doing a mini session which means I can only choose one outfit. As a plus size lady I would love recommendations on what type of attire you would recommend.

I'd probably gift them for Valentine's Day if the edits are ready by then. If you are hoping this helps with intimacy issues, why wait until your anniversary? You could gift it on Valentine's Day with a whole romantic intimacy related gift basket. That's my thinking I guess. As for outfits, it depends on what you think your husband would like. Does he like lingerie? More basic bra & panties? Something like a button down shirt or football jersey? High boots? Fishnets? I'd go off whatever you assume your husband will like the best.

It was a very interesting experience. I look at my photos and I look so hot and amazing, and my photographer did such an amazing job. At the same time, I know it's not "me" cause I'm a bit more modest. I've always wanted to do photos like these, and have them so that's great!

I started off with basically just a thong and a lace robe which was so incredibly see through! I had a couple of outfits with his jacket on only, and a few on the bed wearing only lace undies. I did have a few with a new lace bra and undies I got. Whole session was about 4 hours long.

Always remember to arch your back and your feet!

Based on what you've shared recently about how much stronger your relationship is now than it's been, I agree about giving him your gift as soon as possible! Smiley winking Smiley heart

My husband is " I think she's beautiful no matter what she wears type" so literally anything. That's what makes it hard.

Thanks for the advice! I've only got one outfit as this is a mini session so it should only be about 30-45 minutes long. That's what makes it hard. I wish I had at least 2 outfits just in case I didn't care for the first pick.

I had a session done and I’m giving it to my FH for Valentine’s Day, the wedding is in November. Luckily I had multiple outfit changes but What I wore to give you some ideas is just a full body lingerie set, bra and panty set, a cute solid black tanktop that said “Mrs. Mullins” on the front and matching panties. I also did a few wearing his button down, and I had a white robe made with Mrs. Mullins on the back as well and used it as a prop/on top. I definitely recommend Doing this!

Were there any tips you wish you would have had prior to your session after doing one? I would love input from someone who has done one. I know one lady said to remember to arch your back and feet. Is there anything else?

Arching your back is always helpful. Being super “extra” such as pocking your breast out or poking your butt out, it will feel super awkward during the photos but I promise the more “extra” you are the better the photos. I don’t think I can show my photos on here, but if you would like some pose idea just let me know and I’ll be glad to send you some of what I did!

I LOVE the idea of adding layers so you can take them off and do a few shots in "different" outfits without having to change. See if your photographer can work with you on that. I know a lot of men love seeing women wearing their shirts, or wearing a man's button down shirt. So you could start with that and take a few photos. Then take off that shirt and do some photos in a babydoll, then strip that down to something a little less! Then you have 3 outfits in one shoot.

As for the lingerie, have you tried Torrid? They have a whole Valentine's collection out now, and lots of other really racy stuff. You can also find very nice plus size lingerie on Amazon for a great price. I buy a lot of mine there, too, and they have lots of reviews and photos to help you decide.

And I agree with MrsD that you should give them now and not wait another year. You need it most now, and so does he. Smiley heart

I love the idea about adding layers, I didn't even consider that!! I will definitely ask my photographer! My photographer gifted me a $30 gift certificate to a local store that she partners with to use towards lingerie. I am going to look there first, but will consider Torrid and Amazon. I have lingerie from our wedding that I love, but I figure something new would be exciting.

I plan on giving him the photos for Valentine's Day, as long as they are ready by then. If not his birthday is in June and our 2nd Anniversary is in September so I have options Smiley smile Thank you for your advice.

Okay! So they aren’t ready yet, so these are unedited! Boudoir Photos 2

And again that last photo is being very “extra” but made the shot worth it!
