Well we did it! 10/31 Hallowedding.
I was starting to panic a little on Friday when most of our set up help arrived super late, but we knocked everything out. Rehearsal started a little late, but I was feeling better once we did our walk through. Before we left for the rehearsal I gave my vendor payments to family members to disseminate and the rings to my father-in-law (the best man).
Saturday morning went to plan. We hung out and did breakfast. Hair and make up arrived on time and did an amazing job. We did bridal party pictures and then headed to the venue while the photographer did pictures with the groom and groomsmen.
By the time I arrived the last touches were mostly on place and the cake and cupcakes were already out. My sister (MOH) force fed me a cookie and water while Everyone else worked on small details.
The photographer left the guys downtown to grab a bite to eat and we did more pictures at the venue. The flower girls arrived and the youngest of the three (who is three) was in meltdown mode...we decided to give her a moment to see if she would recover. I finished up photos with the other two and then headed inside. I noticed the bartender (my only vendor that hasn’t done an event at my venue before) wasn’t there yet and was starting to panic when officiant arrived and let us know police were doing traffic control for a soccer tournament up the road. I got myself some water and moved to the back room to take a minute for myself.
My mother in law came back and let me know the bartender was there and getting settled and then my husband had arrived. Our guests were arriving as well, and our greeter (our niece) was at her post welcoming them and making sure everyone got a goody bag (mask, hand sanitizer, popcorn, Nightmare Before Christmas cookie, fruit snacks, and candy. We also had different bags for the kids).
Our DJ’s wife was gathering up the wedding party for line up, and the disgruntled flower girl seemed like she was back on board, but as soon as she was in the back room, she wanted mommy again. She was returned to her mom and the procession began.
Only one small glitch with the ceremony: my father in law left the rings in his cars. I saw him hand off the keys to my mother in law and her quickly return with rings, but other wise every thing went to plan.
The venue is right on the water, so it was perfect for photos especially at sunset and moonrise.
Reception was perfect. The food was great. Getting everyone through the line took longer since the attendant had to plate it all but she kept the line going. Bartender kept everyone happy, and our DJ did an amazing job.
Some initial photos...more to come
