LONG POST ALERT! Ok, I wanted to get our professional photos in before I did a full review of our wedding experience, the good and the bad. Overall, our day was nothing short of amazing. We are very loved and it showed on our special day. As you guys know, we got engaged on Christmas 2018 and were due to marry on April 4th 2020. Covid came in like a thief in the night and we had to postpone over 6 months and cut over 100 guests from our RSVP list. This happened only 19 short days before our original date. Nonetheless, we were able to get it done.
Our venue was JW Event Suite in Stockbridge. They were extremely professional and helpful. We did end up spending more, but it was worth it. It was important to me that we had a touch of uniqueness. I LOVE romance and that it why I chose red and rose gold. I am very happy with the overall look of everything.
We had a bridal party of 22 people 🥴. I am very close to my family and friends so it was hard to narrow it down lol. My make up artist (ig: beatsbybre), photographer Reena-Jay Harvey, coordinator Dawn Rothwell, our "Glam Squad" decorating team Mrs_A_Events and bartender Tony from mixed up events were all ROCKSTARS. They made our day a huge success. Not only were they professional, they were kind. They made us feel like family and that our wedding day was just as important to them as it was to us. Ms.Marcia from divine treats made our wedding cake into the vision that it was!
Ok, catering. Honestly we were disappointed in the catering service we received. I was waiting in the holding area getting ready to walk down the aisle when I was reluctantly notified that not only was our caterer not at the venue, but no one had been able to reach them all day. This was less than 10 minutes before the wedding started. My coordinator and family were on the phone trying to find local restaurants that would bring food in a panic. Only by the grace of God, I was able to reach the caterer who casually advised me that since the cocktail hour wasn't until 6, that is when she planned to show up. After our ceremony, our guests were without food to the first 30 minutes of cocktail hour. Once we finally got the food, it was not the same quality of the food we had at our tasting. Also, at the end of our reception, the caterer left the remaining food. Fortunately, my team picked up the slack and made sure it was all cleaned up. While we were not overjoyed with this experience, we understand as small business owners things don't always go as planned. So, it was spilled milk.
Ok, if you read all this, THANK YOU! Here goes the most important part:
