I did a first look with my mom which I highly recommend, as well as a first look with my husband. I'm so glad we did it. I still cried during our ceremony, and still laughed as well, and though it's hard to tell my husband teared up, just like I was hoping but didn't expect.
If you have it in your budget to do so, HIRE A COORDINATOR. I'm so glad we did, she took care of the few small issues that came up without us ever knowing about any of it till after the fact. I was apprehensive given our small guest list (45, including us) but it was well worth the expense.
I do wish we had had more photos of just our new blended family, but we already have plans to book the same photographer for our Christmas photos in December. The day was just so busy we didn't think of it till dusk.
