I'm back and married! My husband and I couldn't have had more fun at our wedding. It was a blast and even though there were things that didn't go as planned, they made us laugh rather than cry!
Quick summary: Engaged 2-22-2020, 2 year engagement, married 2-22-2022 at 2pm (well, a little after 2:22pm if we are being exact).
Things that went wrong that I laughed about:
- I forgot my lipstick at the AirB&B and didn't realize until 5 minutes before I was supposed to walk down the aisle. My sister's fiance drove across town to get it and the guests sat at the reception tables and ate appetizers for 30 minutes.
- The DJ played the wrong song for me to walk down the aisle. Instead of the instrumental orchestral song I picked, it was All That And More (Sailboat) by Rainbow Kitten Surprise (which was supposed to be the recessional). My dad looked at me in horror and I burst out laughing right before the doors opened! It was the best, actually.
Our friends and family all pitched in and we were able to have a magical day for just $8k! My best friend arranged all the flowers and made the bouquets, my husband's friend officiated, the bakery I worked at for 7 years made the wedding cake (yum), our favorite restaurant provided the food, and 3 friends worked as waitstaff (paid, but they had to take a risk because of potential COVID exposure). It all came together in the end!
And here are the photos (not the professional ones, but these give you a good idea of how it went!)
