My husband and I had a Wedding Weekend 10-19-19 at Lake Shasta in Northern California. We rented out Tsasdi Resort which has 20 lakeside cabins, a deck over looking the lake and up the hill there was a lodge where we had dinner. I’m so glad we decided to do this. It gave us the opportunity to visit with most of our guests Friday night. All day Friday we decorated the lodge for the reception dinner. In the evening we hosted a casual taco bar for all of our guests on the deck and afterwards when it got cold we all had smores around the campfire.
The wedding day was a whirlwind. It rained at night and in the morning so none of the outdoor decorations were set up. I left this up to my husband with the lists I gave him since I had to get ready. Luckily him and some other guys got it set up. No exactly as I was thinking but it still looked great.
I got the fall colors on the mountains that I was hoping for and the water level in the lake was the highest it’s been for fall.
We we had a day of coordinator and she was lots of help. The food was delicious the photographers were great to work with. I am a graphic designer so I designed all of my invitations, save the dates, signs etc. We did a fake exit on a golf cart. The guests blew bubbles as we got on. They loved that part. We were planning on dancing on the deck where the ceremony was after dinner but it was too cold so the venue host and coordinator quickly converted the lodge that was set up for dining into a dance floor! I’m so glad we switched cause people danced all night till it was time for the dj to go home! We also did a generations dance and the dj stopped at 30 years and at the end of the song there was still over 10 couples. He was in shock. Haha he had to ask them who was married the longest. My aunt and uncle 46 years!
We also had a tent next to the lodge where we had cocktail hour and where the buffet was located.
The whole weekend was so much fun! I didn’t want it to end! And everyone said they had a great time! One thing I do wish is that we made an announcement that there was a guest book photo booth. People missed it and we didn’t have very many in our guest book. Oh well.
