I've been waiting so long to make a BAM post and now my time has finally come!
Oh my gosh, my wedding day turned out so much more amazing than I was expecting! Everything was beautiful, perfect, and all that I wanted! Our vendors were amazing, the food and desserts were amazing, and the best part, it didn't rain!!!!
We invited 21 guests, all close family and friends, so it was very small and intimate. We also live streamed the ceremony on FB live for the rest of our families and friends who couldn't come in person. That was a success too!
Our last minute musicians that I hired played beautifully during both our ceremony and cocktail hour. However, while we were taking couple photos during cocktail hour, I missed most of them playing. I'm pretty bummed I couldn't hear them play more, but from what my guests say they sounded amazing!
Then we ate our dinner which was tri-tip, mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies, and caesar salad. It was delicious!!!
After dinner were the toasts, and I think this was one of my favorite moments. Our best man wrote the most amazing speech!!! It was so hilarious but also emotional and beautiful. The look on my now husband's face during the speech was so heartwarming that we were teary eyed and not expecting any of it at it at all! Other guests gave toasts too the things they had to say were so sweet. My eyes were watery the whole time!
For our first dance we danced to Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud, and we just swayed back and forth awkwardly haha.
After that, we cute our delicious 6" cake which was almond with raspberry filling, and served to our guests churro cupcakes, apple pies, and pumpkin cheesecakes. They were a hit!
THEN we played the shoe game, and this was another one of my favorite moments! I had my step-dad ask the questions since he's great at public speaking, and he put a twist on the game. So whenever he asked a question, instead of asking them one after the other to us, he would first ask our guests to raise their hands to see what they think, and then we raised up our shoes to see if they got it right! Haha, everyone had a blast with this and it was a fun twist on the game! Totally recommend playing it this way!
After that, guests just mingled and chatted with each other, we got our marriage licensed signed and just hung out with our families and friends. The night was just what we wanted and totally exceeded our expectations. And yes my man wore a kilt!!!
I am so thankful to all of my fellow brides on WW giving me advice during my wedding journey. I truly couldn't do it all without you too!
My advice to you brides would be, of course, have a game plan/master timeline of the entire wedding, but also remember that everything will work out in the end. Trust in your vendors, they will work together to make your day special. Don't be afraid to speak up and to get what you want. I'm a very shy person and this was one of the hardest things for me, but during rehearsal and the wedding day, I was demanding people left and right telling them how I want things and it all got done. I had this entire vision for my wedding and it was amazing seeing it all come together. Luckily our friends and families were there to help every step of the way.
I will post professional photos when they come, but for now here are some from family and friends:
