My husband and I are back to work today after our mini honeymoon! When we were newly engaged we choose our date first, so we wanted to keep our original wedding date, regardless of COVID. We had our celebration with our parents and siblings (12 of use total) at my parents home. We had a local restaurant cater our food, my sister was our photographer, and we went to a local wildflower farm and handmade our floral pieces. It was not the wedding we originally planned on, but it was so so great. I am so glad we decided to do this micro wedding- it was intimate and perfect. Next year we are having a vow renewal and doing our grand celebration with our 150 guests, DJ, professional photographer, big wedding dress, and at our venue on the lake.
Here are a few of my favorite shots! I hope these photos can show you soon to be brides how special a small ceremony can be. Don't give up on your dreams of your wedding. Everyone keeps saying I get the best of both worlds- a small intimate wedding and a grand wedding. I wish I was more excited for this wedding- I had been so bummed about this situation, but I could not have been happier with how our wedding day planned out.
