Bachelorette party

Ann, on December 7, 2019 at 10:38 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4
My maid of honor was talking to me about my bachelorette party!! And the one thing she was unsure of ...as was I, was when do we start actually planning and telling the other girls?

My wedding is September 25, 2021 Bachelorette party will be between April-August 2021 (undecided on actual date)
I live in Wisconsin & my maid of honor planned it to be in Nashville! Since it is out of state I want the other girls to be aware because of the expensive that will arise. But I also don’t want to tell them way to soon.
Is there a wrong or right answer?
When would you tell them so they have plenty of time to plan and prepare get off work etc.

Probably one year in advance since it is out of town and so they can save up if needed.

I think now is K to plan, especially if travel is involved. Time for people to save up. Just check if hotels will reserve this far in advance.

A year sounds good. But please ask your MOH to ask the BMs what their budget is! Read a lot of posts here where the bride or MOH decides on a bachelorette party or weekend that exceeds what everyone can comfortably pay for—leads to hurt feelings or declines (in a few cases all but 1 or 2 girls ended up going).

AND Nashville hotels are stupid expensive. Not sure about the timeframe you want but in Oct a lot of hotels seemed to be $300+ per night. Renting a house or condo via Airbnb may be a good & fun way to go.

You can give suggestions but ultimately the planning and selection should be done by the entire bridal party based on their budget. Once everyone agrees with the amount they feel comfortable spending then the location is selected. It may very well be that Nashville is more expensive than what the budget allows and if so then you need to be prepared to pay for it or choose something else that people can afford. But you definitely shouldn't just pick something without knowing people's budget.
