Bachelorette party?

Katie, on June 7, 2019 at 11:23 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 34
My best friend is getting married this October and I’m stuck on where to throw her bachelorette party. Her fiancé is going to Vegas, so that’s out. We live in Florida and her honeymoon is in Costa Rica, so she doesn’t want anything tropical. We also work at theme parks (Disney and Universal) so both of those are out too. Also no California because that’s where she wants to go on vacation and wants to experience it with her husband. Does anyone have have ideas of what to do that stays budget friendly? I’m at a total loss.

Does she definitely want a destination bachelorette? Can everyone else who is participating afford that? Nashville could be fun.

I love jenna's suggestion of new orleans! new orleans is definitely a party destination.

i also like your idea of doing the theme parks if that's what she's into. i also don't think that bachelorettes need to be a trip, it could just be a day full of different activities

If you guys are into water but don't want to do tropical, you could do a lake trip! That's what we're doing for mine. Renting a cabin for the weekend, renting a party pontoon one day, and just relaxing and having fun all weekend...some lakes also have houseboats for rent!

My bachelorette party was in Austin and it was amazing! Great fun young city and not your usual place to go. I would say Nashville is a great option as well. I have seeing people go to Chicago but is mostly sight seeing stuff and then of course there’s always New York. Can’t go wrong with it. I have also heard of New Jersey. There’s lots of different options out there.

I’d vote for NYC. I may be partial because I’m from Jersey, but based on the criteria I think that would be fun. Also, there’s a ton of places down by me and further south in jersey that have beautiful beaches but aren’t tropical. Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May. Ocean City, Maryland was where we went for my sister’s bachelorette and it was a lot of fun.

You could go to Houston Texas, Gatlinburg, Tennessee or Charleston, South Carolina. I just came back from Gatlinburg and it was nice. If you guys choose to try that place, you guys can rent a cabin and go hiking, tubing, check out all the stuff on the strip. Also check out all of the tastings (moonshine, wine, etc), my fiancé and I really enjoyed those! Also In pigeon forge (ten mins from Gatlinburg) there’s a distillery called old forge.

Nashville was in the running until I remembered her dad was killed in a car accident in near Nashville. So no to that one. Thanks though!

Why not Vegas too? You don't have to spend time with the bachelor party. Vegas is pretty busy and it is unlikely that y'all would run into each other without it being planned.

I don't see why Vegas is out, just because her FH is doing his bachelor party there. As long as everyone can afford to do that, it's a great idea! Especially since you have good reasons for not choosing other likely destinations.

I already told my girls, plan whatever you want, as long as it's in Vegas!!!

I live in Nashville, and everyone comes here for their bachelorettes (it’s the 2nd top city in the nation for bachelorettes behind Vegas). I’m having my bachelorette party in Atlanta, though, because I don’t want to do the cliche Nashville bachelorette. Atlanta is fairly close for all of my bridesmaids and is a really fun city!

A couple people have said Charleston, SC. I actually live in Charleston! It is a lovely place and there’s so much to do here. But, I also second Savannah, GA!

Colorado would also be very, very fun!!
