Bachelorette Party in Washington dc

Eviee, on February 19, 2018 at 1:20 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 17

Looking for recommendations for a club/bar/lounge to have a Bachelorette party in DC. If any ladies had their Bachelorette in DC, I'd love to hear ideas, suggestions, tips!

My FH previous company always had great company parties at lounges/bars. We were just at The Gryphon for his last holiday party and it definitely had a swankly, upscale club feel to it. The location is downtown DC not exactly sure of location.

Depends on what you are looking for during the weekend, but here are some ideas:

    brunch:
Le Diplomat, Perry’s for the drag brunch, Ambar for Balkan pre-fixe all you can eat, Hank’s Oyster Bar,

    dinner:
Reserve the Bedouin tent at Compass Rose, reserve the rooftop table at Rose’s Luxury, Momofuku and do one of the large format dinners, reserve a table on the back patio at Beuchert’s Saloon, The Dabney in Shaw.

    bars:
Adams Morgan (younger crowd, college to early 30s. You can bar hop easily)
Logan Circle (little more refined than AdMo, great restaurants and bars along 14th Street- Le Diplomat or Barcelona Wine Bar for dinner, 2 birds 1 stone for cocktails, then Marvin for dancing)
18th Street Lounge also a good option
POV at the W is the rooftop bar that overlooks the White House and the National Mall (also good for sunset cocktails and then move on to dinner elsewhere)
The Columbia Room is a great cocktail bar if you have not too big a group, or it’s sister bar up the street is The Passenger.

id also suggest ordering a Beyoncé cake from Buttercream Bakery in Shaw. They are so stinking cute!

A lot of people in DC will do bachelorette parties at the Northern Virginia wineries- some of the favorites are: Fabbioli Cellars, Bluemont (great view!), Tarara, among others. You can rent a limo or van with a driver. Many places also let you bring picnic lunches on site. In Middleburg, you can pick up great lunches to go from the Salamander Cafe.

I’d ecommend against a gay bar like Town (unless you are gay)- I don’t think the DC scene loves being invaded by straight girl bachelorette parties and you may get a frosty reception from some. Take Rupaul’s advice on this one...

Oh, I didn't realize Town was a gay bar. I retract my recommendation unless you're gay

If you like Latin, you could eat at Toro Toro. It also has a great bar/lounge scene.

We're going to Secrets. It's a gay spot but women go there too. We've been once before and everyone was friendly. Drag downstairs and naked men upstairs

The Wharf is a new trendy outdoor/indoor spot on the waterfront with bars, restaurants etc. I also recommend POV rooftop at the W. Georgetown is a fun area as well. Enjoy!

I was coming to recommend SAX too! You definitely want a boozy brunch somewhere on U street, check opentable to see what places include. Cuba Libre in Penn Quarter/Chinatown does dancing I think.

    Don't to Capitale.

    That's where we did mine
and the place was blegh. Bartenders were friendly, but the rest of the staff was super rude. And the music was awful. Sounded like it was being DJ'd by a 12 year old trying to figure out Wii DJ hero game.

The Mad Hatter is super fun and has different areas with different vibes. Also great food if you want to do dinner beforehand. And they have giant plastic hats that they serve this big green jungle-juice type stuff in (also yummy) that all of your girls can split - cute for pictures and so fun!

I realize this post is old but the message bears repeating: It is so unbelievably thoughtless and rude for a group of straight women to go to a gay bar. Gay people have so few spaces and this is THEIR space! My brother is gay and he and his friends used to go to Secrets but stopped going b/c of all the large bachelorette parties. They ruined the vibe. I was in Palm Springs at a lesbian bachelorette party at a gay club and 60% of the bar was filled with straight bachelorette party women! I personally wanted to go over to all of the regular gay customers and apologize that these women had ruined their night. These poor, unsuspecting gay guys and women were thinking they would go out to the local gay bar that night to hang out w/ other gay people and have fun. But now they have to party w/ screaming 20-something straight women?
