My husband’s family decided last-minute to fly in from California, which resulted in me running around like crazy to get everything ready! We bought a new house in March, and while we have plenty of room for guests, I’ve been super lazy with unpacking! I’m so happy they came though and it was worth being completely exhausted on my wedding day.
For the day itself, we had a small ceremony in the county next to ours (because we still can’t get a license in our county!) at a beautiful nature reserve. My uncle escorted me down the aisle and my aunt did the best job as our officiant. It definitely wasn’t what we had planned, but was still incredibly special!
We ended up having a super small gathering at our house after and served BBQ (I cooked most of the sides because I didn’t want to pay what the restaurant wanted to charge 🙃). This was one of the silver linings because I originally had my heart set on serving BBQ, but the venue we had settled on didn’t have that as an option!
We have our big celebration rescheduled (🤞) for next summer. I’m super happy to be married (I’ve been so looking forward to the “wife” title!), but I’m equally looking forward to actually having all of the wedding events I didn’t get to experience!
*My MIL took most of the pictures on her phone because nobody would try to use my professional SLR camera 🙄. They turned out ok though for not having a professional photographer!
