Albums for parents and us

Meaghan, on July 24, 2017 at 12:32 AM Posted in Married Life 0 8

Hi all! It's been a long time since I've posted. (3 months?) I got "wedding"'d out. Anyway- do any other folks or vendors have advice about putting together parent albums? I went through the wedding file my photog gave me and of the 600-700 I have, I whittled down a list of 160 that I'd like to put in the parent albums. About half are candids from the reception featuring each side (MIL and FIL are divorced and both have remarried). If I do 4x6 prints, that's a 40- page album if we do front/back and 2 on each page. Does that seem excessive?

Also- any San Diego folks have a place to suggest where I can obtain a good personalized wedding album for us?

Considering all of our parents said no to a wedding album it may be a bit excessive. If your family is into it then I think it's fine. Sounds like you have a good mix of pictures.

I think 40 pages sounds fine, however you might like to do different sizes of pictures to mix-it-up a little. Like a few full-page or larger pictures, and a few pages with smaller pictures.

I second @Olivia. I used Mixbook and was able to create great albums for both set of parents that they loved.

I'm creating "brag books" with 40 photos total (so 20 pages) of 4X6 for my parents and my husband's, but we created a photo book for ourselves. I used Shutterfly for printing and the photo book, and it has been inexpensive and great. We got our photobook 50% off, and our first 15 prints or so were free. Both my parents and my husband's are divorced, so I created a different brag book for everyone with one framed 5X7. One reason I settled on doing a brag book was if any of our parents wants, they can pull the photos out and give them to other family members or choose their favorites and frame those. We 40 photos, they each get a lot of choice.

Does your photographer have any recommendations of where to get them and how to design it?

I can't imagine anyone doing this on their own....160 is way too many for your album or your parents album. Will your photographer help?

Shutterfly! I'm making myself a photo book and plan to make both sets of parents a photo book as well.
