If your friends are upset that you chose your future step daughter as your maid of honor I'd get new friends.

Is your wedding really in December?

You really can't argue with choosing your kid or future step-kid as MOH or BM. My FH is using his 18 year old daughter as Best Man, which was really the best choice since his friends couldn't really get upset that they were not BM.

One thing to keep in mind is typically your maid of honor is going to be your witness and have to sign the marriage document. My sister is my maid of honor but she's only 17. I have two other bridesmaids who I have been friends with for about 12 plus years. Of course I'm a little closer to one than the other and that's the person I'm having be our witness on our marriage document. But I made sure to let both of my bridesmaids know they are equally as special as my sister but since they live in different states it's easier to just have my sister there. I personally would have your FH's daughter as your MOH if that is what you want. I think it would be fun to have her help you plan so she can feel included. I honestly think if your friends are upset that they aren't your MOH you might have other problems... just saying.

You don't need three maids of honor, nor does your MOH have to sign your license.

I have 2 matrons and a maid. This being because my best friend and my sister are both married; and they both are in another city. I also have a close friend in the town where I live who I needed to be with me during the process. It's actually not bad at all.

Not in all states does the MOH sign the marriage certif. Mine didn't.

That said, if you have 3 MOHs, the title ceases to be as important.

So this worked out good? I have my sister that is married, my cousins that I have known since birth and we grew up together, she’s my other sister and my cousins that we became very close since 12 years oldand I am the godmother to both my cousins kids. I would make my sister the the Matron of honor. But feel weird leaving my cousin out from being special. They would understand. But they hold a very special place in my heart :-)

    Marlene,

I actually reduced the wedding to no party at all..LOL. My husband and I decided to get married in Vegas and whoever wanted to attend, they could. It was a whole lot easier. It was getting messy starting out and there was plenty enough time to switch things up. However, my best friend just got married earlier this month and I was the Matron and there was a Maid. It worked out okay. There was a lot of miscommunication. But we all got thru it.
