Friday, October 23 was one of the most beautiful days of my life! My husband and I originally planned our wedding for May 23; however, COVID caused us to push back our plans to October (though we still decided to get married on our original date). Despite the stress of postponing and finishing planning our wedding during my first year of medical school, everything truly was meant to be! Luckily we were able to pick a date that fell during my fall break and this date just so happened to coincide with our 7 year dating anniversary!
On the days and weeks leading up to our wedding, I was so concerned that our outdoor ceremony was going to be rained out. I had always pictured getting married outside and our venue's garden is one of the most stunning places I've ever seen. We had also planned a special candle unity ceremony which involved our guests each having a lit candle, and that would not be allowed if we moved our ceremony inside. Even the night before the wedding, things were looking dicey! Somehow the rain never showed it face and we had the most gorgeous day, complete with a stunning sunset ceremony. It was such a dream come true!
We had a day full of love, laughter, tears, and so much fun, and I couldn't feel more grateful that we could share it with a small group of family and friends. Everyone was so gracious about being masked up during our ceremony and reception, and we joined them in our masks at the reception!
