Fantastic band, so much talent! Yelba is so high energy, yet very easy to work with. You really get your money's worth. We had a mixed crowd at the wedding, half Hispanic and half Anglos, but she was perfect, a great mix of songs. Not one complaint. Wish I had another wedding to plan.

We heard about Yelba and the Latin Variety Band through some internet searches. We liked the sample songs listed on the website, and after reaching out to Yelba, she invited us to watch her perform at an open/public performance - the band was incredible!

Yelba is easy to work with and very responsive. We corresponded with her via email to work through the planning process and our copious questions. We knew we wanted a band which could play both English and Spanish songs, and Yelba and the Latin Variety Band had a wide repertoire of both English and Spanish songs. Since we did want some Spanish songs, Yelba recommended we utilize the 5-piece band including a conga player (i.e., Yelba - vocals/guitar, drummer, keyboards, guitarist/bass, conga player). But Yelba can also replace the conga player with another guitarist if Spanish songs aren't requested.

In addition to the 5-piece band, Yelba was able to provide a sound engineer, a DJ, and a cellist for our cocktail hour. Our cocktail hour guests were pleased with the cellist during the cocktail hour. The included DJ is an added benefit. We had several songs which we wanted to have played by a DJ, so having the flexibility of hearing some great music from a live band and having a DJ available for other requests was phenomenal.

The band is extremely talented and sounds great (in both English and Spanish), and the dance floor was never empty! There was one point when the DJ was trying to play a song, and for some reason, there was feedback on the speakers. The band and sound engineer were trying to diagnose the problem, and Yelba got on stage and said, "Let the band play it!" - and they did a fantastic job!

Professionalism, quality, customer service, and great song selection - Yelba and the Latin Variety Band is the whole package, especially when you compare their cost to other bands! If we need a band for any other function, we will definitely go back to Yelba!

In September 2014, in the midst of wedding planning, my now-husband and I fortuitously attended a large charity gala, where Yelba was the featured band. We were blown away. We asked Yelba that night if she was available for our wedding date, and we were thrilled that she was. Our reception was a blast. My sister said that she has never seen a dance floor fill faster. We danced until the very end. We had guests from the US and Latin America, and everyone had a fantastic time. To this day, I still have wedding guests tell me how much fun they had at our reception and always ask for Yelba’s name and contact information.

Having Yelba as your band for any event is the very best decision you can make for the success of the event. In fact, for my husband’s recent birthday party ( for a very important birthday milestone), I reached out to Yelba first. We could not imagine having the celebration without Yelba and her band. Once again, we danced until the very end. Once again, guests told me how much fun they had and asked for Yelba‘s name and contact information.

Simply put, Yelba is the best. She is a joy to work with, and she and the band can do anything: Latin, American rock ‘n’ roll, Bluegrass, Country, R&B, Fifties Music... and everything in between. You will be so thrilled to have Yelba at your reception!

Yelba's Variety Band and "Latin Fire" were simply amazing! Our Peruvian American wedding was a huge success! They played a variety of Latin American music, including traditional Peruvian music, as well as American country, pop, and oldies! Our dance floor was always packed, juts like we wanted! They also did a great MC job presenting the bride, groom and wedding party, announcing the dances, entertaining the audience, and keeping the event moving.
