Activity for Private User

I've been considering using cupcakes into my wedding cake, to save some money on our budget. Has anyone used that technique and was it enough for your guests? We're planning on a wedding of a 100 guests.

I'm trying to figure out the pros and cons of an evening verses afternoon wedding. We both have family from out of state, but we don't want to spend the money on an expensive Saturday evening wedding. Does a Friday workout?
