I've seen 1000 photos of outdoor weddings with cakes so i didn't think this would be an issue, but now I'm being told the cake we order for the dessert table will be "just for show" and since it's sitting out all day we'll just throw it in the trash...

I've specifically chosen an outdoor romantic venue with string lighting and might add paper globe lights around the dance floor. I think neon colored DJ lights are cheesy. Am I making a mistake? Am I being too picky?
