Whats the point of having bridesmaid bouquets and groomsmen boutonnieres? I'm not a flower person, so I'm trying to have the least amount possible. Would it be crazy to not have the bouquets/boutonniers?

How much do flowers typically cost? I'm planning on using minimal flowers for the centerpieces and have 4 bridesmaids... just trying to budget, but not ready for a consultation yet..
