Working with Zhaun was one of the most enjoyable parts of planning our wedding. He perfectly balanced our desire for having some formal posed shots with mostly candid, documentary-styled shots throughout the day. Not only is he a talented photographer, but he also helped to bring calm to the chaos of our wedding day. His welcoming demeanor allowed for our family and wedding party to feel immediately comfortable when having their formals shot by Zhaun.
Despite meeting Zhaun only a handful of times over video calls, our engagement shoot, and now our wedding day, he truly has felt like a friend and we’ll miss working with him! -

Zhaun is an amazing photographer and person who, with top notch professionalism, will beautifully and creatively capture your special day. He is truly so invested in couples, from our first inquiry to album delivery and beyond. We first met Zhaun when he photographed my sister's wedding in 2021, the same wedding where I met my now husband. He noticed the sparks flying that day and took photos of us dancing together for the first time. It was our number one priority when planning our wedding to have him as a part of our day. His energy throughout the planning process and on the day of is calm yet energetic with a willingness to try different things at times and let the day play out while capturing the moments as they happen naturally. He will not rush you or make you feel overwhelmed. It is so important to have a photographer that vibes with the couple and the group on the day of since you spend a lot of the day together, and I can tell you Zhaun goes out of his way to ensure he gets to know the couple prior to the event and understands group dynamics before even showing up to the day. He is great with kids, too! Many of our guests remarked at his professionalism and work ethic, and countless people have been in awe of our photos and will be for years to come. The final product is above and beyond in the way he captures light, emotion, movement and tradition. It all comes through when looking at the photos. I am so grateful to have gotten the chance to have worked with Zhaun and hope to work with him again to capture more important moments for our family in the future. 10000% would recommend. -

First off, we got married in Maine and anyone reading Zhaun's page likely noted that he primarily operates in the Boston area. However, we were so taken by his artistic, romantic photos that truly looked like stills from a classic movie, that we decided to give him a call and see if he'd be willing to make the trek up to Ogunquit for our big day. We are SO GRATEFUL that he did, because WOW. Zhaun engages with his couples from the very start, having long conversations via email and phone about how we met in order to "capture our vibe." He works collaboratively to help you craft a photography timeline that makes sense, and one that will reflect you as a couple. For us, we had two locations that were very different--the ceremony was on a cliff and the reception on a dock in the bay--so we had two, distinct times for photos. He and Elizabeth did an absolutely incredible job capturing the scenery wherever we were. (And for you multicultural brides out there--my skin tone and that of my family looks correct in all the photos so far.) I'm posting both photos of sneak peeks AND photos of Zhaun at work because I've got to give credit for him literally scaling rocks to get the perfect shot during our first look, using a drone to capture the ceremony site, and staying nearly an half an hour late (and arriving nearly an hour early) because he wanted to capture the full extent of our event for us. He was a truly remarkable person to work with and we cannot recommend him highly enough! -

Worth the Investment!
We went into our wedding knowing that we wanted to invest in good photography. Zhaun absolutely exceeded our expectations. He was probably our most communicative vendor, he helped us put together our wedding timeline and was always available for us to reach out with more photo ideas. He makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and like you are on top of the world when you receive your gallery. It's obvious that he cares about every photo he edits and takes and we could not recommend him enough. He considers his packages as investments and we couldn't agree more, it's an investment in not just spectacular photos but someone who will work with you to help make your wedding extra special. -

We are so happy that we went with Zhaun for our engagement shoot and wedding day! He is so fun and easy to work with, and our friends and family felt the same way. We loved our wedding day and Zhaun captured the memories perfectly. We loved every photo we got, and he delivered both sneak peaks and the full gallery quickly. Choosing a photographer is so important and there is no one I could recommend higher. -

To say that my wedding was a literal dream come true is an understatement. I have had the opportunity to see Zhaun's work from afar being a wedding planner and at other's weddings and I have known for a long time that I would like him to be my photographer. It was an absolute joy to work with Zhaun! He did both our engagement and wedding photos and throughout everything he helped me to feel rooted, secure, joyful, and flat out THRILLED by the pictures he captured. Zhaun is very relaxed, confidence boosting, knowledgeable, reassuring, and fun. If I could do my wedding all over again, I would hire Zhaun (and all the people that made my wedding a reality) IN AN INSTANT! I hope that I can hire Zhaun in the future for other lifetime events! -

10/10 Photographer
Not only is Zhaun an incredibly talented photographer, but he immediately made us feel at ease in front of the camera. We fell in love with Zhaun’s documentary style of shooting. We didn’t want our photographs to feel super staged or posed and Zhuan effortlessly captured our intimate moments together.
We hired Zhaun to shoot both our engagement photos (highly recommend doing this) and on our wedding day. Zhaun was patient with us and offered constructive advice (in funny ways) to get us to relax in front of the camera. He was all on board when we asked him to wake up early on one of the longest days of the year for a sunrise session (100% worth it).
As we approached our wedding day. He was in communication with us to help us stay organized. On the wedding day he was a calming presence and we loved having him around. He kept us on track (timing-wise) and didn’t falter when our seemingly sunny day started raining during our first look. I now look back on these photos as some of my favorites from the day. I love how his photographs told a story of the day from a backseat approach. He was adaptable, and fluid with the little changes that happened throughout the day (because surprise! Nothing ever goes as planned). Our wedding day was the best day ever and I wish we could go back and relive the moment all over again! I would recommend Zhaun to all of my friends and family and I hope one day we get the chance to work together again.

Zhaun was an absolutely incredible wedding photographer! On the day-of, he had such a calm and efficient manner that put everyone at ease. He was able to get all the shots we wanted while not spending too much time exclusively on photos, so we could spend time with our guests. We got comments from other vendors and from guests about how great he was and how hard he was working to get the perfect shots. He gave the perfect amount of direction and instructions, and helped everyone to look their best! We’re not big photo people, so were quite nervous to be in front of the camera. But he made it feel super natural and fun, and it ended up being a surprisingly amazing part of the day! When we got the final photos back, we were totally blown away by how they turned out. They are absolutely gorgeous, and Zhaun was able to pick up the beauty of the space and light perfectly, as well as capture lots of candid moments. Zhaun was wonderful, and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone having a New England wedding!! -

Zhaun’s work speaks for itself - it’s his professionalism and knowledge that sets him apart even more! From the first video call, my husband and I knew he would be the photographer we chose. We started with engagement photos and Zhaun immediately knew how to keep a photo shy couple smiling and at ease. As a stressed bride, Zhaun was a comfortable and calm presence, cracking jokes to ease tension, reminding me to eat, and take time to enjoy the special moments. Excellent photographer!
Zhaun was incredible to work with! He took time to get to know me and my husband - to understand our preferences and our personalities. He really helped create the experience that we were looking for. As the photographer for our engagement and wedding photos, he helped us ease into the process, feel comfortable, and have so much fun! He scoped out the areas we were interested in so that we could capitalize on the spaces that we loved, and he added great creative perspective. 10/10 recommend. He was super communicative and responsive which really help put me at ease. He helped us create a timeline for the day of, was mindful of family dynamics, and helped us have so much fun! -

Let me just start by saying; Zhaun is a breath of fresh air. Planning our wedding was stressful until we hired Zhaun. He was probably the biggest help in planning out our day. It is almost like we got a photographer / coordinator in one. From planning out a time line and coordinating with our day off coordinator it was such a relief. Everyone at our wedding commented on Zhaun and his second shooters friendliness and and the level of fun they brought to all of our guests. I don't think Zhaun missed a single second of shooting with all of the pictures we got, and how was the quality of every single photo from our special day? Breathtaking. Our photos could not have come out any better. We are 3 months out and we can not stop looking at them. I would never, from this point forward, take any of my photography business elsewhere. Zhaun we love you and thank you for being there to document our special day. -

Working with Zhaun was a dream. From the first interview to the final moments at the wedding we felt as though we were in extremely good hands. Communication was prompt and we never had any questions as to what the photography plan was since Zhaun tended to everything meticulously. We didn’t get to meet Zhaun in person until the day of our wedding but he melded perfectly with our group keeping everyone in good spirits and at ease for the picture taking process. He wrangled a huge wedding party (18 of us) and extended family for gorgeous pictures as storm clouds rolled in. He completed everything before even 1 drop of rain fell. We received our sneak peek gallery in less than a week after the date and wow, we are blown away. Zhaun goes above and beyond for his clients to ensure an amazing experience. His passion for his art is clear and we feel so blessed to have worked with him. -

Just wow! No regrets.
We decided to get eloped prior to have the big wedding celebration so that we didn't have to worry about the paperwork. We still didn't have a photographer and only had 2 days to figure out who that was going to be. I reached out to Zhaun via Instagram message, and luckily, Zhaun was down to accept last minute! Zhaun made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera, has a very hospitable and welcoming personality, and really puts in the effort to ask questions and communicate as much as possible. He is also very professional! Lastly, the edits to our elopement photos were such a quick turnaround -- ONE DAY! The editing was stunning and authentic, and we received a lot of compliments from our friends and families. Overall, we had such a memorable experience with Zhaun (if we could rate him more than 5 stars, we would!). WE HAVE NO REGRETS (and you won't either)! Thank you so much Zhaun! -

Zhaun was a star at our wedding! He was a tremendous help as we planned our wedding on an unprecedented COVID schedule (less than 3 months). Both during the event and several months later, our family members can't stop raving at how professional, efficient, poised, and skilled Zhaun was. When it comes down to it, we hired Zhaun becuase we loved his photography, and he did not disappoint. He's skilled at both setting shots so that we look way more beautiful than we actually are as well as capturing the candid moments that we keep on going back to. We've gone through the slideshow with different family members multiple times since our wedding and they've been a wonderful way to remember our day. Hire Zhaun! -

We threw a small, backyard wedding together in a month this past summer during COVID. My now husband found Zhaun. On our first call, I was blown away. He is one of the most kind, accommodating and professional people I've ever worked with. We planned, he asked a lot of questions about our ceremonies and culture (and timeline as he's extremely punctual) - he cared a lot. The day of the wedding, we saw Zhaun walking around swiftly and efficiently taking shots, staging pictures in a confident yet unobtrusive manner. He seriously knew what he was doing (and by the way, he is also very fun and likeable - he felt like a cousin). Our whole family was impressed. And then the pictures came. I used to say I wasn't a wedding or a picture person. And now, Zhaun's photos have made me both. I don't know how he did what he did, but he is an artist with a mastery of the technical in his field and an innate je ne sais quoi (I think it's a gift). He even labeled the album with the appropriate religio-cultural parts of the ceremony - again, because he cares. Thank you a hundred times from both of us, Zhaun. You really made our whole summer by beautifully capturing such a unique, milestone experience in an otherwise tough year. If anyone is thinking twice of hiring Zhaun, don't. It is the easiest decision you can make, for any event. -

Zhaun took unbelievably BEAUTIFUL pictures of my rehearsal dinner. Each photo made a powerful statement, so much that when I first opened the gallery, I cried. All the shots were taken in the moment of real people, responding in real ways, and he captured those tender, vulnerable, memorable, and hidden moments that can go unseen and unappreciated. We took our engagement photos with Zhaun and he absolutely knocked it out of the park! We’re not getting married until June, 2021 but I’ll probably write another review for him then because he’s that good. The consultation? Perfect. His cute little guidebook that tells you everything you need to know about taking engagement photos? Love it. He gave us just enough direction so we knew what to do, but also was able to sincerely capture us. Nothing short of miraculous and a super fair price. I have no hesitations about saying I would 110% recommend him to anyone. -

We had to change our wedding plans due to coronavirus to a last-minute elopement, and feel so incredibly lucky that we found Zhaun to take photos. My wife and I had the best experience with Zhaun Frias Photography! Our wedding, though amazing, was pouring rain, cold, and windy. So you can imagine that Zhaun was getting soaked. He never complained, and was very positive and uplifting throughout the entire day. He was very organized, efficient and Worked hard to get every shot from every angle. BY HIMSELF! The pictures came out AMAZING! His eye and artistic ability is definitely a gift. He made our special day that much more better. 12/ 10 would recommend!! Zhaun was absolutely amazing!! He made us feel so comfortable from engagement photos through our wedding day and the photos he captured are stunning. If we got married again, I would be conflicted whether to invite him or book him because of how wonderful he is and his skills behind the lens.
