Sam was absolutely fantastic. He is so talented for such a young photographer and provided us with the most beautiful pictures of our wedding. We gave him a tough task---a fully day of pictures 10am-10pm, a 16 person bridal party, and the sunniest/brightest day of the year and he handled it all professionally and with a smile. We are so happy with the finished product and every time we look back at the pictures we feel the emotions we felt on the day again. Sam is also an amazing person. I loved out meetings and on the wedding day he made everyone feel so comfortable and beautiful. We cannot say enough good things about Sam. He is wonderful! We highly recommend him!

We were really happy with our choice of Sam and Ze Liang Photography as our wedding photographer. We were looking for someone whose photos we liked, but also someone who would be comfortable and easy to work with. As a gay and interracial couple, it was really nice to find someone who clearly loves his work and someone who is passionate about photographing couples like us. Sam listened well to what we were looking for and responded to our desire to not leave during our wedding for photos. We had a wonderful engagement session 2 months before which got us to know his style and to feel comfortable in front of the camera. On the day of the wedding we did our family photos before the ceremony so that we could mingle and be present during our day. Sam captured the energy of the ceremony and the party and was very low key and non-intrusive. But he was able to capture many great shots. Sam sent us digital copies of our photos and access to his website very quickly (about 2 weeks or so I think) and his pricing is reasonable. We would highly recommend using Ze Liang Photography! My only advice is that if you'd like some fun, interesting or more creative shots it may be worth suggesting it or recommending it directly. Thanks Sam, we were very happy to have worked with you.

I cannot say enough about our choice in a wedding photographer. From our first e-mail interaction, Sam was professional and personable. His energy was palpable even through e-mail and he created a package that worked well for our needs that included engagement photos and our wedding session.

We first met Sam at the engagement session and he encouraged us to bring our dog along. He instantly made us feel comfortable and he gave us great instruction. We were thrilled with the results and had one of the engagement pictures prominently displayed by the cake at the wedding.

He was wonderful at the wedding. It was a cold day, but he was happy to have us take advantage of the light and surroundings outside. He also offered several suggestions for people to include in the photos. He was virtually invisible during the wedding ceremony and captured some amazing photos. We can't begin to express how thrilled we are with our photos. We were also able to build in some time for other couple and families to have their photos taken by him and they were equally wonderful. He also had some time to take some shots of our rings which were extremely artistic and beautiful as well as some shots of the cake and food which were equally beautiful.

Having a photographer who was comfortable with a same sex wedding was very important to us and Sam was truly wonderful. I highly recommend Sam. Between Sam, our caterer, and the venue, we couldn't have asked for a better wedding.

My husband and I recently got married at the Liberty Hotel in downtown Boston. It was a gay, Indo-American wedding, and we wanted to use vendors that’d make us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. It seems that Sam's specialty is non-traditional weddings, and he did an awesome job! We met with him a couple of times before the wedding to go over ideas for poses and pictures and to finalize a timeline. He's professional and polite, but fun and friendly, too. By the end, we felt more like friends than his clients 

On the day of the wedding, he made sure to get all of the poses on the list and was flexible enough to go with the flow when things just didn't work out like we planned (and let’s be honest, things rarely go according to plan). Many, many of our guests mentioned to us afterwards how impressed they were with Sam's work...and that was even before we saw the pictures.

We got access to our online gallery about 3 weeks after the wedding, and the pictures are phenomenal, just drop dead gorgeous! He got all of the important shots, but even got close up pictures of all of the decorations, too. His attention to detail is really to be commended.

We enjoyed every aspect of working with Sam, and we’re blown away every time that we scroll through our pictures. What are you waiting for? Go hire Ze Liang Photography now!

Sam put my partner and I at complete ease. He was the perfect photographer for our boutique wedding. He was professional, prompt in all communication, scoped out the right settings near our church for photos, captured our guests in just the right way. He turned the photos around quickly too! We just can't say enough about what a great job Sam did capturing the spirit of our special day!

Lynn and I were coming to Boston for our engagement, as we had a previous connection to the city and she is a huge Red Sox fan. Luckily, I found Sam online, as we were looking to document the occasion. He was a pleasure to work with; very personable, flexible, efficient, etc. We were very happy with the end product and now have a new friend for life. We definitely highly recommend him to anyone considering using him.

There are really two ways to evaluate a photographer: how he interacts with you when he's setting up shots, and the actual quality of the final photos. Sam absolutely nailed both of these for us. He made us feel completely comfortable and relaxed as he was taking shots, making the process of setting up shots fun and natural. We had a great time and 2 hours of photographer seemed to fly by. But would the photos themselves turn out as nice as we hoped? The photos were spectacular--Sam absolutely presented us at our best. Great composition and use of light, and creatively captured the thrill and romance of our special day. We will use him again.

We are so happy with the decision to use Ze Liang Photography. Sam is very great to work with. He is very responsive and super sweet. When we booked him a year ago, we decided to do an engagement session with him to get to know one another. Our engagement pictures came out great. Sam was also a pleasure to work with through the planning process. He stayed in touch and made sure we were on top of everything. He was prompt the day of our wedding and had an assistant, Brad, with him. When we finally got our gallery of pictures, we were thrilled with how beautiful they came out. The images really captured the emotion of the day from the ceremony to the dancing at the reception. I also love all of the shots of the little details as we had put a lot of hard work into them which Sam knew. I would recommend Sam to anyone who is looking for beautiful pictures with a natural feel!!!!

I give Sam my highest recommendation! First and foremost, his photography is amazing. He is so talented and creative, we are so happy with the pictures he took. He really knows how to make the photographs look so natural and fun!
Sam was also wonderful to work with. . .he responded very quickly to questions and was always available if I needed anything. It really felt like we were working with a friend.
We feel so lucky to have had Sam with us for our special day, and we could not be happier to have his photography framed in our home for a lifetime!

Sam is truly a pleasure to work with. From our first contact with him, he was kind, professional, and seemed so excited about photographing our engagement session. He was helpful with everything including picking a location, advising on outfits, and letting us know exactly what to expect. When the day came, he had a plan and had already picked out some cool backgrounds in the area. He guided us into poses, but then just stepped back and took pictures. He was more than willing to take direction from us if we saw a backdrop we wanted in our pictures. When we found an awesome indoor spot, he improvised and we got some excellent shots. He got the photos to us much sooner than expected, and they are lovely. He captured all sorts of moments, and made the scenes behind us look like art. We are so pleased to have such wonderful photographs to keep and look at for life!

Our family have a longstanding tradition of non-traditional weddings. It works for us. They end up being very successful in the long run. That being said, we found ourselves making our wedding plans as we went along. There was not a great deal of planning beyond rings, location, and date. When we arrived in Boston with an eminent date and time in front of us, we suddenly realized that we wanted to document the happiest moments of our lives with photography. We searched for and found a photographer that could accommodate our timeframe, location, and non-traditional wedding plans. Sam was able to exceed our expectations in every way. We were able to work with him with a short lead time. He was warm, charming, and made us feel at ease immediately. Sam was able to offer us access to locations that we would never have thought to use for our photographs, and the backgrounds for our photos were nothing less than spectacular. He has an amazing eye for composition and an uncanny way of capturing the candid emotion of the event. We cannot imagine this experience with another photographer. Sam did a wonderful job.

His photos are amazing! Eventhough I did not get wedding photos done, I have done two shoots thus far with Ze Liang Photography and each time the photos look flawless! His concepts and creativity is uncanny! I gave him and idea and he ran with it! He really made it work and honestly, best decision i made was to tell him how I visioned the photo to be! My husband and I had to visit India to attend a friend’s wedding. It seemed convenient to visit Boston on the way since the flight back from India was going to stop at JFK for a while and we’ve been to NYC already.
As I wanted to renew the pictures at home too, I thought that it might be a good idea of having someone take pictures of us while we’re in Boston.
Sam’s website was the 2nd one I found while googling and after checking it out with my husband, we decided to contact Sam to set the photo shoot date.
At first we were worried about the same things everyone worries about like: the interaction between the photographer and us, the places we’re going to be shooting, etc.
When Sam told us to meet at MIT to do the shooting there, my husband was very attracted to the idea - seeing as he comes from an Engineering background and admires MIT so much. So, that was one score for Sam at the moment.
Meeting Sam at the main entrance of MIT was easy since we sent him some of our pictures beforehand and when met him, he was more excited to do the shooting than we were. Mostly because we were more nervous to do a photo shoot outside a studio. He made it very smooth and easy for us. The most important thing for us is that he made it fun too! We had no idea of what pose, style or emotion, nothing at all. We were shy (and easily embarrassed), but while doing the shoot, Sam made it very interactive and fun enough for us to be laughing all the time. Since we had no idea of what we wanted at the photo shoot, he captured our basic ideas of something casual, fun, with natural and city landscape as a background. He made sure we liked the pictures he was taking by showing us every time he captured a lovely moment of us. We didn’t feel tense or serious in any moment as he made sure to take pictures in moments we didn’t even realize and helped us do very easy poses that came out so natural we were amazed of the results.
At the end of the shoot, we were mostly laughing at the great moment we spent. While we were driving back to our hotel room, Sam tagged us on facebook with the first sneak peak of one of our pictures. It made us so excited since it came out so beautiful and lovely! Thank you very much Sam! We had such an excellent and fun time!

Sam is such a delight to work with. I have never worked with a professional photographer before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Sam provided excellent customer service, with prompt communication via email. He made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera, and guided us on how to pose. Initially, it felt awkward (mainly because I've never done this before!) but Sam clearly knew how to position us such that the photos looked good yet natural. All the photos that I felt I appeared awkward, actually turned out to be quite beautiful.

Sam was always able to capture moments with his photography - this added to the "natural" non-rehearsed feel of the photos. He captured a lot of really fun moments - real emotion is conveyed through his photographs.

The photos themselves are beautiful!! Sam really has an eye for color and lighting. We love the photos and browse through them almost daily. All of our wedding guests adore the photos. I have been asked on multiple occasions to refer them to Sam for their event!

What I love the most about the photos is that he tells a story... the story of our love, our wedding ceremony, and then the absolute blast we had at our reception. When I look through the photos, I am re-living the intensely joyous and memorable event our wedding was.

I highly recommend Ze Liang Photography. Sam is a joy to work with, he is artistic and skilled. I would do it all over again if I could!!

Sam Liang was a pleasure to work with. Unlike most reviews here, we used Sam as the videographer for our wedding as he now beginning to offer videography services. Getting a videographer was a last minute decision on our part, but Sam was very accommodating and worked closely with us to make sure he filmed the type of video we were hoping for. On the wedding day he worked very well with our photographer, and managed to catch some great shots using multiple cameras. He arrived early to capture me (the bride) getting ready, and was there through the ceremony and dinner all the way until dancing. He mic’d us up so he captured everything from the ceremony. When it came time to review the final product, he was very open to our input and willing to make changes that we requested. We got a trailer, a 1+ hour edited movie, plus all of the raw footage he captured throughout the night, which was great! We could not be happier with our decision to film the wedding and to go with Sam!
