If you read nothing else I write, read this. Hiring a travel agent is FREE! No gimmicks or upgrades. Why wouldn't you at the very least call and speak to one? Having a travel agent isn't just a luxury. It's the smartest thing you can do for yourself and your trip.
Skip helped us put together a FABULOUS dream vacation to Italy for our 10 year anniversary. From the first phone call to start planning to the day we got home everything went smoothly. He was always quick to respond, personal and worked with the budget we gave him.
I'm a wedding / event planner so I'm a very detailed person and have always planned our small family trips but there are so many things to consider for your first international flight. Getting passports, knowing which airports to fly in/out of, how long of a layover is enough time, how to travel between cities, setting up tours in a city where you don't speak the language, what to do when you're there. Skip sat down with us before we left to go over our itinerary and each activity along the way. He helped us avoid potentially major mishaps by making recommendations along the way for how to handle or plan for things. Including the worst, when we left a bag inside a car that had dropped us off from the airport to our hotel. The bag had our electronics, itinerary, tickets & passports inside it. I calmly picked up the phone and made a call thanks to the information, advice and prep Skip had given me before we left.
Could I have planned this trip by myself? Maybe. But knowing the ins and outs of traveling is what he is an expert in and he can save you time and so much stress along the way. We saw some of the most amazing pieces of history, immersed ourselves in the culture, ate some of the best foods and had such a relaxing experience the whole time. Truly it was a dream vacation and one we will never forget and we have Skip to think for that. My husband and I worked with Skip from Your Getaway Guru to plan our honeymoon. Previously, we had never used an agency to plan any type of vacation. Skip had a lot of knowledge and advice regarding an all-inclusive adult only resorts in the Caribbean. He was extremely helpful helping us locate a resort in our budget. Skip was so great to work with that we are in the process of using him again for a trip to Cancun. We had a wonderful time/experience on our honeymoon. Wow... What a great time we had, in Hawaii, no less. Skip Neal planned everything from sleek convertible cars to gorgeous hotel rooms overlooking the beach, and plenty of fun activities for us. I would highly recommend Skip, the Honeymoon Guru. We first thought we were going to Greece and he planned an entire itinerary for us. Then, something came up and we found out that we would not be able to afford to go to Greece. Skip did not act inconvenienced at all. He worked with us and came up with a different trip that would be in our budget. We had no idea where we wanted to go so based on us telling him what we liked/didn't like he came up with a location and an entire itinerary. The whole process could not have been smoother. In the end, we ended up at Caneel Bay in St. John and had a wonderful time!I would highly recommend Skip, the Honeymoon Guru. My wife and I were EXTREMELY picky and after only emailing one time (to initially explain what was wanted), Skip called to find out exactly what we wanted. After that he emailed over several options, including pricing, and we were able to narrow down our choice quickly and efficiently.
My wife and I had the most incredible time in Jamaica...so much so that we were already planning our trip back to Ocho Rios 2 days after landing.
Skip is someone that we would trust to send friends, family, clients, etc. to for any travel needs (not just honeymoons).

Skip takes the time to listen and take into consideration everything we look for in a resort. This was our 3rd trip booked with Skip, and he exceeded our expectations. We had a great stay at Paradisus La Perla in Playa del Carmen and will definitely contact Skip for our next adventure. I love how Skip gets us awesome upgrades and handles all the details. All we have to worry about is packing and showing up to airport on time. Definitely takes the stress out of traveling!Skip takes the time to listen and take into consideration everything we look for in a resort. I really do not know where to start but I think it should be with a colossal thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Your recommendations from airfare, ground transportation, resort, and off site adventures were “off the charts awesome!!” After a great flight to Maui, our trip began with us walking down the escalator to retrieve our luggage only to be met by two local Hawaiian women holding up a sign reading “Aloha Daigle Family”…..WOW! They adorned each of us with magnificent pink and purple fresh lei’s. The rental car upgrade you booked was very very nice and pickup was seamless at Hertz!!!
When we arrived at The Grand Wailea Resort and Spa, it was pure heaven on earth for us all!!! The staff was top notch all the way around! They made each of us including my 7 and 9 year old girls feel like royalty!! The care, first class service and genuine hospitality endured us all the entire time we were there!! From the exquisite Ali Suite you recommended (which by the way was incredibly spacious and had unbelievable ocean and sunset views every night ), to the awesome on and off site restaurants on the Island, to the local attractions and private snorkeling/fishing/whale watching boat you set up for us this trip was just absolutely over the top!!!!!Skip once again you knocked it outta the park buddy!!! This vacation is hands down our best one yet!! I want you to know how appreciative we are as a family that you continue to plan and book such awesome get always for us, as these are times we will cherish forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the BEST!!! Sure we’ll be getting in touch with you soon to book another one!

He is ALWAYS available for any questions or advice and is quick to respond! All of the information and advice he gave he also emailed to us in detail to take with us on our trip, like what the employees with our transportation company would be wearing (he also included a picture of their attire), how to navigate the airport and tips for international travel. Skip is the best travel agent I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. What surprised me was the time he took to get to know what we were looking for in a anniversary trip so he create a wide range of options for us. After we narrowed it down to 3 resorts he then went through each option in great detail until we settled on the perfect place. I am still in shock in how he was able to suggest a place that was our perfect destination, and was exactly what we were looking for. What surprised me was the time he took to get to know what we were looking for in a anniversary trip so he create a wide range of options for us. After we narrowed it down to 3 resorts he then went through each option in great detail until we settled on the perfect place. We got in last night from our honeymoon and couldn’t WAIT to tell everyone that everything was absolutely FABULOUS!! Just perfect! El Dorado Maroma in Playa Del Carmen was the perfect place for us to go—we were so pleased.
Our room was awesome, the service was spectacular, and we kept pinching each other to realize the beach really was THAT beautiful and we weren’t dreaming!
Luis was delightful and helped us book tours—we swam with the dolphins and did the wave runner/snorkeling excursion. Both were fabulous.
WE will definitely go back to this place—and a few of our friends are getting married this year and next and we are going to be HIGHLY recommending the Honeymoon Guru and El Dorado Maroma for destination weddings and honeymoons!

Skip is wonderful! We just got back from the Hawaii honeymoon that he booked for us and it was amazing! We knew absolutely nothing about Hawaii when we decided to go there and Skip took our preferences into account and was able to suggest which island might be the best fit. We loved Maui! Skip also suggested a great hotel and we absolutely loved it!
Skip is really friendly, fun to talk to, and was great to work with through the whole honeymoon planning process. He always responded to questions quickly and was very helpful with showing us multiple options and changing dates and departure cities around from us. We experienced no travel problems whatsoever. Skip Neal has set-up multiple vacations for my wife and me over the past few years and once again, he delivered a great vacation.
Skip encouraged us to vacation at El Dorado Maroma and it was exactly what we wanted and how he described it.

I normally don’t write reviews, good or bad, but I really feel it is necessary to in this instance, because of the exceptional customer service we received from The Honeymoon Guru and Skip.
I’m extremely stubborn at times and when I became engaged back in February, I frankly scoffed at the idea of using someone else to book our honeymoon. I travel three or four days during the week and I figured I can find the best hotel package for my honeymoon. Not only that, but I am EXTREMELY picky when I travel and thought to myself no one knows what I want besides myself. However, my fiancé had me call The Honeymoon Guru as her friends have used them before and I am so thankful I did!
Within a couple of minutes from talking to Skip, he knew EXACTLY what I wanted in my honeymoon as he asked the right questions. Not only did he ask the right questions, but he got us exactly what we wanted and more for that matter for much less than I thought it was going to be. I can be a pain in the rear sometimes, but Skip was patient with me, answered the questions, and promptly returned my calls and emails. The package deal Skip was able to put together for us was a couple thousand less than we could have gotten on my own and included much more!
We do plan on using Skip in the future for our upcoming trips. I know planning a wedding can be a daunting, stressful task. With Skip and the Honeymoon Guru, it was a stress free and very enjoyable time. When it comes to picking a vendor for your honeymoon, go with Skip and the Honeymoon Guru!

Hey Skip! We absolutely loved Costa Rica :) It definately was not a relax on the beach type trip, but more of an adventure! We loved the Occidental Grand Papagayo because it was the perfect combination of the relaxing vacation we wanted before Trevor deployed AND adventure. Our favorite tour was def zip lining through the rainforest...what a rush to be 700 feet above ground going 50 mph through a REAL rainforest! We also LOVED our room, it was like a private villa right on the bay! We couldn't have asked for a better anniversary/pre-deployment trip! Thanks Skip, we'll be traveling with you next year!
