I am not a Type A Bride.
I am a Type A centered and hand calligraphed in fuchsia ink (that isn’t too purple) on chartreuse (that isn’t too yellow) cardstock (110lb) Bride.
And I was floored by Paula.
We selected Paula after an interview process with several top-tier planners (the first test was their reaction when I sent them a 10 page vision & expectations keynote presentation – Paula was excited by it). After debating between two planners we went back to the reviews. They were all so insanely glowing for Paula and now we have fully experienced why (and yes, they’re all accurate). We have a family inside joke that people would give their firstborn to Paula after working with her – and I’m so sorry to have to part with our son but we know he’ll have a good home with her. ;)
My loving husband waxes poetry on the way Paula brought our very specific creative visions to life (See “A Groom’s Perspective”) but I will deliver a crisp bullet pointed list for those of you who are scouring 800 reviews like I did.
• Paula is a mind reader. We were so in sync on our wedding day that I would turn to ask her for something (not yet speaking a word) and she would hand it to me. It’s a little spooky.
• I was actually so calm during my wedding weekend with Paula at my side. Even my husband was surprised at my chillness. This was the best gift as I enjoyed so many more moments with loved ones.
• Every single vendor said she was the most outstanding planner they’ve ever worked with – not just from an organizational perspective but also kindness. Because people love her, they will move mountains for her.
• Paula has a magic rolodex of the best vendors. Every person/vendor she brought in went ABOVE AND BEYOND in their craft, but also was wildly kind. When you hire Paula, you’re getting this wedding industry best -- this insight is SO DIFFICULT to determine as an outsider.
• She will be your assassin if need be. She will defend you like a mama bear. She is fierce on your behalf.
• She is thoughtful and sweet. Little touches from Paula made the entire journey special.
• She is the most responsive person I have ever met – emails would be answered in minutes.
• She protects your mental health, giving you little doses of need-to-know info but she’s great about including you on the things you ask to be included on (if you want to be super hands-on like me)
• Her real superpower is coordination. She has a calm, cool, collectedness that permeates the months leading up to your wedding and while that remained during our wedding weekend, the GET SH*T DONE (but of course, sweetly!) attitude was awe-inspiring. I'd never seen so many plates spinning at once, and I did not doubt her capability. Being a company founder and Type A person, it can be hard for me to let go. My bridal weekend was actually relaxing. I trusted Paula 300%.
• She puts the couple first. When she arrived for set-up at our home I offered her coffee and she responded with “This week is about you. Do not even think about me.” She brought her cooler of snacks and was off to orchestrate the many moving pieces. It killed the hostess in me a little bit, but that reminder to focus on myself and my partner was a blessing.
• She took my details to the next level – even seemingly silly things like the way she displayed the parasols, and rolling our pool towels for the pool party for a streamlined look, or the glass card box leveled up by putting a vintage postcard and some moss from our cake table inside. She is simply a master.
• She thinks of everything. Every. Possible. Scenario. Every. Possible. Detail. She advised ordering clear umbrellas two weeks before the wedding as a “just in case” but also acknowledged that we’d still be in the return window if we didn’t use them. Small, but thoughtful!!!
• Paula has done this so many times over so many years she knows what works. She knows what you need, more than you know what you need. The only thing which could have been improved from our wedding (and it was tiny and insignificant in the big picture, just one cranky bartender!) was a time I didn’t listen to Paula. NEVER AGAIN PAULA, NEVER AGAIN!!
• She has two adorable pet donkeys (clearly a bonus that cannot be ignored)
• Her husband is an aviator and has access to the BEST weather forecasting software (a surprise bonus)
• As my new husband describes in his review, our wedding weekend ended in literal applause and a standing ovation from our guests for Paula. So many people came up to me to talk about the magical experiences they had with her - everyone, much to my delight, now has a Paula story.
For all events from this day forward, Paula will be my coordinator. I will shout her praises from the rooftop.
Do not let Paula’s calm and zen exterior fool you - she is a mastermind thinking about the thousands of details underneath. She just knows the exact right moments to act. I feel that I have learned and grown as a leader in my own professional sphere after seeing Paula work her magic. I know this list simply cannot do her justice, so please, trust all of these reviews together and book her. -

This was the second wedding Paula planned for our family, the first being my sister’s, and from the moment we reached out about working with her again, she treated us like family. Paula supported us every step of the way, helping bring our vision to life while giving us the freedom to incorporate our own creative ideas. When decision fatigue inevitably set in, she stepped in with thoughtful guidance and expertise, making the process feel seamless.
The week of our wedding, Paula truly went above and beyond. With constantly changing weather forecasts threatening to impact our entirely outdoor event, she thoughtfully planned for every scenario. She worked closely with vendors to arrange last-minute rentals, always respecting our wishes while offering invaluable advice based on her experience. Thanks to her dedication and careful planning, we ended up with a beautiful day filled with blue skies and plenty of outdoor heaters to keep our guests comfortable when the evening chill arrived.

Paula Smith is nothing short of your personal Mary Poppins - magically taking care of anything that might come up. We all know that weddings are crisis machines - from weather, to vendor personalities, to unexpected health issues, or a sudden change in headcount - things WILL happen. Paula is the person you want by your side to navigate those things.
***Deep Respect & Warmth***: Paula leads with respect, warmth and care in all of her relationships. This is especially important in her deep relationships with a variety of vendors. Because she is such a pleasure to work with, vendors are often willing to help her clients out with small favors - taking on a role they normally might not, setting up a little early, joining a walkthrough call they didn’t really have to be on. These are things that you usually cannot pay extra money for - they are professional courtesies that Paula’s clients receive because she is so well liked. This respect and warmth of course is a major reason why her clients are so happy and cared for as well.
***A Bespoke Experience***: Paula is curious - about you, about your culture and customs, and about how to meet your every hope for your special day. At the same time, she also manages your (and your parents’!) expectations to ensure you’re planning for a day that can be achieved within your budget and your goals. Once the vision is set, she begins going about creating. She is a beautiful creator. She created something SO special for us within our goals – so much so that we got comments like “this was magical, ethereal and the best wedding we have ever been to”. People felt that the event was not over-engineered, but just magically flowed from one moment to the next. We knew, this was Paula’s doing - to guide the event with a light hand that was imperceptible to most. Wow. Just wow.
***A Swiss-Army Knife Multipurpose Friend***: What you get with Your Event and Paula is an incredibly versatile team. Paula is a wonderful planner, but throughout this process she also served as a therapist, friend, aunt, stylist, decorator, artist, craftsperson, logistics savant - and so much more.
***Calmness***: This was the biggest event of our lives. A lot of money was involved for us. A lot of relationships we treasure, and several that are fragile. This creates anxiety. Out of all the planners we spoke to, we had a sense that Paula would guide us through with calm, joy, and practicality. The fact that she could easily work with both us (the couple) and family members with compassion, and yet a stern hand when it was needed allowed us to delegate even the most tenuous negotiations to her. She was simply a source of calm for us during the process.
***Contingency***: It turned out that we had beautiful weather for our weekend. However, a hurricane hit the mid-east coast during the week prior (AND the week after!) meaning that the weather forecast was changing minute-to-minute for the week leading up to the event. Paula was prepared for anything. You know when the same 3 tennis players win all the tournaments on grass courts, clay courts or turf? Paula is like that - while she only ultimately deploys one particular strategy on the weekend of the wedding, she had to prepare 5 or 6 in advance - which you know she has ready, and so while we would have been disappointed with rain, we know it still would have been beautiful, and we would not have had to do much different ourselves.
***Organization***: We had never planned a wedding before. Paula’s team was prepared with timelines, rubrics, and tables that we could fill out in advance. She let us know what was expected of us at the 1 year, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month and 1 week marks. As the day got closer we had less and less to do, so we could focus on things at home and with our family members. It was really helpful so the actual day was as calm as could be.
Overall, Paula is a gift to any couple looking to plan an amazing event with the most magical vibes while remaining calm and level-headed throughout. We cannot recommend her highly enough! -

Flawless execution with great care and grace
Your Event - Paula Smith Designs was an absolute lifesaver when it came to planning my son's bar mitzvah. He had a very specific vision for the event, and Paula not only understood it perfectly but also brought it to life in a way that surpassed anything we could have imagined. From the games arcade theme and the beautiful logo graphic carried throughout the weekend to the engaging activities, serene ceremony design and on theme swag everything was flawlessly executed with the utmost attention to detail and beauty.
But most importantly, the Your Event team handled it all with calm, confidence and grace and ensured that the entire celebration was filled with joy and laughter. All the guests, young and old, had a fantastic time, and we couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience. Thank you Your Event for making my son's bar mitzvah truly unforgettable! My now husband and I found Paula through our caterer - and boy did we get lucky. Immediately we hit it off with Paula, though I will say... that is exceedingly easy. She is at once a comfort and a joy to be around, while ensuring she brings rigor and precision to the planning process.
Every step of the way we felt so assured and that we were in the best hands with Paula. Over the course of the year we worked with her, she got to know us personally - and as it related to our vision for our wedding weekend - both what we wished for as a couple, and what spoke to us individually.
Paula was always quick to dream up something I could have never thought of myself, while constantly staying smart, savvy and wary of any budget restrictions. Her curiosity, her ability to understand and go deep with her clients and background in design (and all other things wonderful) made our wedding weekend everything that it was and more.
My husband and I both work full time jobs, and during the planning process, were juggling a long-distance relationship on top of it all. If we ever fell short, or flat on our wedding planning responsibilities, Paula held us to account and kept us honest. I can say with 100% certainty, we would NOT have been able to pull off the weekend without her and we so appreciated a planner who kindly held us accountable for the weekend every step of the way.
Just as important as it is for your planner to be an expert in accountability, (which Paula is), she also is the perfect partner in creating windows of time during the planning process to unplug and enjoy the engagement. Paula was quick to remind us that despite the stress of planning the wedding - it should be FUN! And for my partner and I - she made it just that.
Of course all the planning is for something - and as I previewed - Paula knocked it out of the park during our wedding. In the stressful weeks leading up to the weekend, she kept us grounded and was our biggest cheerleader.
As the weekend kicked off, she was a rock. She kept all of our vendors on time and on task, and genuinely was a joy to have there. Both of our Moms and my grandma were thrilled that her calming and reassuring presence was there to guide us through the whole weekend. And after a year of getting to know Paula and planning with her - my partner and I were honored that she was there to witness our big day.
Looking back on photos from the weekend, I'm in awe of all the little details that Paula brought to life. It meant the world to us.
She is a treasure.
Now we just need another excuse to throw a party! -

Wedding Planner, Paula Smith
Paula and her team were incredible to work with. My husband and I live in CA so we needed someone to completely manage everything for us on the east coast. Plus we had a 3 day wedding event with a welcome party, reception, and brunch, complicating things a bit. We were also very wishy washy on our wedding vision, the only thing we knew was that we wanted it to be beautiful and fun. I don’t even think we had a clear vision of what we wanted our color pallet to be. But Paula had a few conversations with us and was able to curate a vision that captured both of our personalities and the vibe we were looking for. Paula hadn’t worked up in VT when we booked her but it didn’t even matter, she was able to get us vendors and manage the entire process. Every step of the process was seamless because Paula was so prepared, whether it was vetting wedding vendors for us or ordering trees for the reception-she went to great lengths to make sure everything was perfect. Paula also managed various competing family personalities with poise and did an excellent job protecting us from any potential stressors. Working with her was a dream. We couldn’t have asked for a better planner. In addition to her planning skills, Paula has an excellent eye when it comes to design. -

Being located in California, we knew it would be difficult to coordinate a backyard wedding in New York. So it was especially important to us to find a planner who could interpret our vision and act on it autonomously. That said, when we hired Paula, we didn’t realize we’d be getting such a close friend and ally in addition to a competent and connected planner.
Paula’s guidance and effort helped get us through the planning process with relative ease. On several occasions, she went beyond her role and offered us knowledge and feedback on details like the signage and graphics that we decided to take on ourselves. And she treated our vendors the same way she treated us - with warmth and tact - and the result was a cohesive, well-orchestrated day.
In the week leading up to that day, the forecast began calling for rain. Paula checked in with us several times a day during that week, letting us know exactly what to do. Having prepared per her instructions, we could relax and be fully present on our wedding day, confident we were in good hands with her team.
In the end, our day was better than we could have imagined - thank you Paula and team!

Impeccable Wedding Planning Experience
We had the best experience working with Paula and her team. From the earliest stages of planning to the actual wedding weekend, Paula went above and beyond to listen to what was important to us and make it come to life. She was so organized and worked with all our vendors to make sure everything came together on our wedding weekend. We so appreciate the care she put into making all the details of our wedding special, and making our guests feel so welcome.

I’ve been thinking of what to write for my review for quite some time and I still cannot put into words how simply incredible of a person and planner Paula is.
Paula is one of the best people we have ever met, period. She led us, our vendors, and her team through 2 reschedulings due to COVID-19, and produced the most beautiful wedding beyond anything we ever could have imagined.
Paula is patient, kind, and so humble. Please do take my word on this because as a licensed therapist with a decade of experience, I consider myself to be a fair judge of character.
There were so many times when she easily could have fired us (and it would’ve been fair); we didn’t mean to be, but we were bridezilla and groomzilla. We’re perfectionists and both work minimum of 50hrs/week and our work became super busy in the month before the wedding. We worked with her over the course of THREE years and never once was she rude or unprofessional despite the fact that there was a global pandemic occurring that threw the wedding industry upside down and sideways. The other vendors only ever had wonderful things to say about her too.
Paula’s skills speak for herself and can be viewed on her website, but what you can’t easily see is that she is so hard working and thinks of details I’ve never heard of! My aunt has unobtainably high standards and was a bit high maintenance at the wedding and even she was impressed by Paula!
In sum, if you’re on the fence, call her and see for yourself. Paula, if you see this we love you and our next fluffy child better be adorable because they’re going to be named Paul or Paula in your honor! (No, we’re not kidding.)

I love working with Paula! As a floral designer, I value organization and communication in the planners I work with, and I love when they've conceived of interesting, novel designs. Top Notch Planner
Paul Smith, from Your Events Paul Smith Design, Inc. is one of the most professional Event Planners that has worked at the Preston Barn. Paula and her team were calm, well organized and most importantly willing to roll up their sleeves to assist. When working with couples over the months leading up to their wedding, there are many things that need to be addressed: time line, liability, vendors, colors, flowers, table settings etc. Paul, was always a step ahead. She supplied me with the needed information before I even asked for it. Top Notch!

It will be difficult to put into words in this review how much Paula did for us for our wedding. From our first phone call, we knew she would be amazing to work with, and she exceeded all of our expectations. She really went above and beyond with all the special details, from helping with the flowers, to the amazing table settings, to special details we didn't even know about. The venue looked even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined, and the day of, she was able to implement a few backup plans that I didn't even know were in place, but she had worked on with all the vendors in advance. Even a few days after the event, she is still providing guidance and support to us!
Paula was also so kind, patient and thoughtful throughout the entire process, and was a calming and guiding force for us in the best way possible. She truly had an uncanny ability to know when we were starting to freak out, and was able to reach out with a kind email or just the right advice to calm us down and focus on what was most important.
I could not recommend her more- it will be the best decision you make for your wedding (apart from your partner!), and you will also get to spend time with an amazing person!

Everyone hopes to have the wedding of their dreams. For my husband and I, we can honestly say, this dream came true for us. This was because of Paula Smith & the Your Event Team!
As everyone knows, a lot goes into planning a wedding. This was especially true for our wedding. We needed a ground up build on a remote sprawling estate up in Hudson Valley, where such an event has never happened before. It also came with unexpected flooding on areas of the site. And on top of all of this, planning the entire event in midst of the pandemic. One would think this would have been a stressful process to manage. But it was not at all. This is because Paula never addressed any challenge (big or small) as an problem, she always had a perfect solution which she executed with ease & confidence. Without Paula's expertise in event planning (especially in the Hudson Valley & surrounding areas), her natural creativity & resourcefulness, her vast experience & professionalism with each vendor, her impeccable attention to detail, her supportive & "always on" communication style... we do not think this wedding would happened.
I had envisioned a fairy tale wedding & truly believe Paula was our fairy godmother who made that dream come true. It was an absolutely beautiful event (which guests are still raving about being the best they have been to).

After nearly 2.5 years of wedding planning during a pandemic, I am thrilled to say that Paula helped us create the perfect wedding of our dreams! Paula seamlessly guided us through the process every step of the way, from introducing us to her vast network of Hudson Valley vendor contacts to navigating postponement when the pandemic hit. Due to Paula's quick thinking and swift action, we were able to keep our original venue and all but two of our original vendors after we postponed, and she immediately helped us find replacements for the two that weren't available for our new date.
She truly brought our vision to life with her unparalleled design eye and meticulous attention to detail. My husband and I are very Type A people, but we didn't know anything about creative design. Paula instantly understood the vision we were going for and executed it flawlessly. We also engaged Paula to help us design our save the dates and signage, which of course turned out exactly how we wanted.
Throughout all of the ups and downs of the pandemic, Paula was our rock. She was always calm, cool, and collected and knew exactly what to do, even during an unprecedented global crisis. She goes above and beyond for her clients and always gives 110% effort to make sure every detail falls into place perfectly.
After witnessing Paula in action during our wedding weekend, my friends and family are convinced that Paula is a miracle worker. Throughout the entire wedding weekend, Paula and her fantastic team instantly took care of every detail and expertly solved any minor issue that came up. My husband and I were able to completely immerse ourselves in the experience of getting married without worrying about a single thing, and that in and of itself is priceless.
I originally thought that I didn't need a wedding planner, and now I couldn't imagine wedding planning without Paula! Working with Paula was by far the best money we spent on our wedding; Paula saved us so much stress and anxiety and made the experience SO much better than it would've been. Our only regret is that we didn't bring her on sooner in the process! Would 100% recommend her to any friends/family members getting married. We had a small wedding (35 people) in September, and given that we were having it at a small, luxury hotel (Troutbeck) with catering and service included--plus event planners of their own on staff--we thought that we didn't need a planner of our own. Fast forward to 2 weeks before the date, when we were beyond stressed realizing how many little things were still up in the air, and really frustrated by communications with the venue. Paula graciously agreed to swoop in at the last moment and really, we don't know what we would've done without her. Within a few days she had visited the venue and gently resolved all communication issues there, and been in touch with all the vendors and started untangling all the tangles and figuring out what they still needed. We were in serious decision fatigue and she helped us make all the needed choices, plus proactively troubleshooted/foolproofed things we hadn't known to think of and suggested alternatives that hadn't occurred to us for, eg, moving location of cocktail hour to a far nicer spot on the hotel property. She was invaluable on the day of wedding as well, making sure we were on time for the ceremony, getting family members wrangled from place to place, etc. Just one example: when our hair and makeup folks arrived and started plugging in hair dryers and such, a fuse promptly blew. Paula--rather than the stressed out bride or groom!--was the one who was instantly in touch with hotel staff and had it taken care of. And after the ceremony, she made sure we were relaxing for a few minutes in our suite (with drinks and plate full of appetizers!), while she was overseeing the start of cocktail hour and making sure guests were happy. Basically we were able to enjoy the day thanks to her! -

Paula swooped in to help us with not one but two weddings and rehearsal dinners-- lending her expertise, perfectionism and warmth to every detail. Paula was our guardian angel during the craziness of planning a pandemic wedding, and she delivered a wedding that went beyond our wildest dreams. She was so professional and organized, and she guided us every step of the way.
From the moment we signed her, she helped us navigate the realities of planning during an incredibly busy wedding season. She helped us book all key vendors in just two weeks after our first conversation, which was so crucial since we were just 6 months from the wedding date and everything was getting booked quickly. She handled key vendor communications and got everyone to show up on time and do their part. She nudged us to get a contingency rain tent, which came in handy when it started raining during our ceremony!
Most importantly, she kept everyone calm on day of and reminded us to take in the key moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Paula's design services were also stunning -- we got lots of compliments about the wedding invitation calligraphy, the signage around the wedding, and place cards.
Paula was just such a joy to work with, and I'd highly recommend her for any event. -

Paula Smith IS My Event!!!!
Paula was a pleasure to work with from start to finish on July 10, 2021. Our Daughter had a definite ideal of what her wedding would look like and Paula translated this dream into reality..ranging from the logo on the invitations to the same logo on the menus, the seating charts etc. Paula has a keen sense of design, is extremely organized and is tenacious in getting deadlines met. Rain was a constant threat as this was a tented venue but with Paula at the helm we knew there would be a contingency. There was no rain, there was an 8 hour hiatus of perfect summer weather and a perfect summer wedding. Having Paula with us on July 10Th was comforting knowing she was with us not only in spirit but physically as well..all day and all night. Many friends went up to Paula to compliment her and I can honestly say I will miss the daily emails and the always fun interactions . We would wholeheartedly recommend Paula to every one as there ideal wedding planner. -

We got married 6/12/21 this year and I know in my heart it would have not been nearly as incredible as it was without Paula’s help. When we decided less then a year out to change our wedding plans due to covid from a venue to a private wedding thrown at a house we had rented we knew we needed help.
Finding Paula was nothing less then kismet, not only is she deep rooted in the planning community and business with many different friends and associates to help with anything you may need but she is quite possibly one of the most kind and pleasant people I have ever worked with in any service insudstry. She was communicating at every step of the way and made decisions very easy. While Paula is an amazing wedding planner she is also a very talented graphic artist!!! Anything I may have been dreaming up for signage Paula was able to create and print for me as well as having a inventory of wedding decor you can rent right from her!
All of my other vendors who Paula was in constant contact with made multiple comments on how great of a planner I had, not that I didn’t know it already!
I can’t reccomend Paula enough, she helped us delivery the dream wedding we had imagined and left no stone unturned when it came to important details to make our wedding fun and comfortable for our guests! -

When we started planning our dream wedding with Paula, we never would have imagined planning a wedding in a pandemic. When we decided we would need to postpone our big celebration to summer 2021, she effortlessly stepped us through the process of rescheduling. After we successfully pushed vendors to next year, she also helped us plan our intimate ceremony with 20 family members. It was perfect and all I ever imagined and more. I wouldn’t have wanted to plan with anyone else. I truly think Paula treats each wedding as if it were her own, she will make sure it is perfect and exactly how her clients imagine. To say Paula is meticulous is an understatement, she is able to step you through everything that could come up on your wedding day. She even helped us organize pet sitting for our newly adopted puppy (her own daughter fed her dinner, walked her, and even brought her to our site for some photos). She also has great relationships with vendors in the Hudson valley and beyond. Those connections help you get the best possible deals on materials and vendors.

Choosing to work with Paula was by far the best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We originally thought we didn’t need a wedding planner at all, but we fell in love with a venue that required one. That led us to Paula, which we are SO thankful for.
Paula has the kind of personality that makes you love working with her. Wedding planning is something she clearly loves and is passionate about, and her positive energy is contagious. She also has a soothing, calming presence. Even in the most stressful moments, she was calm, cool, and collected and passed that vibe onto us.
Paula is selfless and extremely dedicated to her clients. She always goes above and beyond to ensure we have the best experience possible. COVID-19 caused us to reschedule our wedding until 2021 - a couple’s worst nightmare. She calmly helped us think through the right time to make the decision to postpone while the world was in total chaos, and once we did, she made rebooking a breeze. She contacted all of our vendors to figure out a date that would work for everybody, and within a matter of days we had our new wedding date with all but one of our vendors intact. In addition to helping with logistics, she was very in tune with our emotional needs during that incredibly difficult time. She saved us so much heartache and money! We couldn’t imagine going through that devastating, stressful process without Paula’s steadfast, compassionate, and level-headed support.
Throughout the entire planning process, she knew when to push us to keep things moving and when to give us a little space to step back from the stress of planning. She understands that there are other things going on in our lives and adjusts her schedule around our needs rather than keeping us on a rigid schedule.
Paula also has a fantastic design eye! She instantly understood our vision from our very first phone call and knew how to translate it into an event in ways that we would have been unable to do on our own. She has worked directly with our vendors to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted without us having to think about all of the minor details, allowing us to focus on just the fun parts of planning our wedding.
Paula has a great rolodex of vendor relationships. For each vendor we needed to hire, she presented us with a variety of options at different price points. If none of the options appealed to us, she was happy to go back to the drawing board and find even more options.
We cannot recommend Paula and Your Event strongly enough! While we are disappointed that we have to wait another year to get married, we are thrilled that we get to work with Paula for longer than we expected! We know that Paula is going to make our wedding vision come to life in 2021, and we already can’t wait to hire her for future events! -

I have thrown a lot of parties in the past. When it was time for me to announce my new studio and have an opening to show the space and my current work like an art gallery, I called on Paula. Our first conversation blew my mind. She had a concept that covered time of year, time of day, how I would publicize it. At the studio for our second conversation, we had the timeline and decor vision set to go. For my photography, I was busy making prints and editing what to show for the opening. She even helped with how to display them and what groups went where in the studio that would double as a gallery that day. Her taste is sophisticated and contemporary. Up until the event, she was like the secret co-host who I could contact about jitters, how to word something, or discuss glassware. Having Paula Smith coordinate my daughter’s wedding made all the difference. Not only did she make sure 150 guests had a wonderful time, she was committed to making sure that the bride and groom and their families were able to enjoy every moment of the very special occasion. Her professionalism, thoughtfulness and attention to detail were unflagging. From our first phone call to her follow-up post wedding email, she was gracious, reassuring and genuine.
Paula is truly responsible and very organized. She coordinated all aspects of the ceremony and reception, and when the day arrived she was discretely attentive and pleasantly decisive. Despite a day filled with showers, she worked with all involved to keep the ceremony outside, set against green mountains, freshly tilled fields and dramatic clouds. She toweled off seats, communicated with guests and musicians, and kept the schedule moving; amazingly the ceremony wrapped up just before the rain with everyone exclaiming it was a gorgeous setting.
Above all, working with Paula is fun. She is very creative and has an eye for aesthetics. She has good working relations with all her vendors and is a truly generous and helpful person.
