Simply put, Yi is an artist and a master of his craft. His vision and keen eye for photo composition is unparalleled and his design skills with editing is unmatched. We were completely comfortable working with Yi—he offers gentle and artful guidance on how to pose, and brings his vivid visions for stunning photographs to life…all with the snap of a lens.
His photos are keepsakes. Treasures to last a lifetime. They capture memories and emotion.
I would recommend no one but Yi to capture your memories… in fact I may have to get married again, just to be able to work with him once more.

Do not hesitate to hire Yi as your wedding photographer. I got married at Hammond Castle 7 months ago and he photographed our wedding so beautifully. We worked with Yi for our engagement photos and our wedding, and we are thrilled with our choice! He is so wonderful to work with. He was very responsive and communicative throughout the entire process, and he brought a kind and easygoing (but very organized) presence to our wedding day, which helped reduce stress and made us feel comfortable. We aren't good at posing for photos, and Yi helped position us in ways that looked good and true to us at the same time! We love love loveee Yi! Two of our friends' hired Yi for their wedding, and we were so impressed with him immediately upon seeing how he was quick and skilled he was to get great shots. For our wedding, Yi worked a 14 hour day with over 500 guests alone and did not lag even once. He had so much direction and took so many photos to make sure we were happy. So professional and so sweet. Highly recommend. -

Yi surpassed our expectations. We're not used to photoshoots and can be a bit shy on camera. Yi made us feel comfortable and had a vision for every single shot he took. He was patient, kind and made us laugh throughout the whole thing. We took pictures everywhere in the venue and the pictures came out AMAZING! I am so incredibly happy that we decided to go with Yimotion Photography for our wedding. Not only was it so helpful that he was multilingual which we really wanted to make all of our guests feel welcome, but he is just the best photographer. I still have people from my bridal party texting me about how much they love the photos, and my husband and I got married 4 months ago!
His photography style is truly beautiful and just what I was looking for; creative and artsy while also having the skills to capture the special moments during the wedding and reception.
One thing which really stood out to me was his attention to the feelings of me and my bridesmaids. I (and many other women, I am certain) have a few features that I am incredibly self conscious about and that make me nervous to be photographed. He very kindly asked for direction as to what those anxieties may be so that he could tailor portraits, poses, etc. around making us all feel as beautiful as possible. That made me feel very at ease and in good hands.
I cannot recommend him enough!! He was also willing to travel over an hour both ways, which was amazing. -

From the moment we booked Yimotion Photography until well after the wedding, our experience with Yi has been nothing but wonderful. An initial meeting was booked right away, with incredibly flexible hours. He was thorough and explained his process in detail, worked with us to understand our vision right from the start, and left no questions unanswered. Come wedding day, he was prompt, if not a bit early. He SCOPED OUT the entire venue and surroundings to get the best set up and shots. His placement, pose coaching, lighting, background selection, and vision are excellent themselves. However, what we were most blown away by was his ability to understand emotions, especially love. We wanted many candid photos of us and all guests. We truly felt every bit of love and happiness in each photo. To be able to capture that is impossible without knowing how that sort of love feels. Yi also made us feel very comfortable. We are not the sort of family that can tolerate posing for photos long, but Yi made it so easy and fun. We felt completely at ease and even eager to take more photos. He bounced around the entire night, only taking a short dinner break. He truly worked so hard to capture our special moments and we could not be happier with the results. Every memory captured was perfect. Yimotion is also very reasonably priced, especially for the quality or service! Yi is prompt too! We were able to get sneak peaks that same night and the full set of photos much sooner than the timeframe originally specified! Our photos were posted on a web-based gallery for easy viewing as well as mailed in a USB that was packed very securely in the cutest packaging! Overall, the experience was incredible, Yi is an absolute pleasure to work with, and the photo quality is top tier. He was hands down our best vendor that day. We are so happy we chose Yimotion Photography for our wedding. -

Zak & Pilar's Elopement 2024
My husband and I recently decided to elope in the presence of our closest friends and family members. At first I was unsure if I wanted to work with a photographer because of the event being so little (under 6 people).
But this is your sign to go ahead and do it! I 100% recommend Yi's expertise. He was truly awsome to work with. I didn't really know what to expect because I've neve worked with a photographer before but it exceeded all of my expectations.
He made us feel very comfortable and casual. I could see it in my husband's face how much fun he was even having! It was very fun.
On top of all that, we just got our sneak peek from the session and they are just beautiful. He really was able to capture the essence between my husband and I and the emotions from our family and friends during the ceremony.

We are beyond happy with our experience with Yi! We initially worked with him for our engagement photos, and the results were so stunning that it was an easy decision to work with him for our wedding day as well. From the moment we started working together, he made us feel completely at ease. He captured every detail we wanted and more, from intimate moments to big, picture perfect shots. There are pictures, both planned and candid, that we will treasure forever.
What really stood out was how stress-free the entire day was. Yi was very professional, fast to respond, and organized, so we never had to worry about a thing. His calm and efficient presence allowed us to fully enjoy the day without thinking about the shot list or gathering the crowd together.
We were so grateful that he also speaks Chinese, which was a huge relief for my parents who don't speak English. It made everything so much more comfortable for them, and they appreciated his efforts to make them feel included.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture such an important day. The photos turned out beautifully, and we will treasure them forever. Highly recommend!

Proposal Pictures
I reached out to Yi to set up a proposal photo shoot and I am so glad I did. As someone that was coming from out of town to make my proposal I was very particular about the time and place that I wanted to meet. He was on time and the proposal went off without a hitch, he completely blended in and looked like he was just tasking photos of the area already and didn’t look like he was there to take pictures of the moment. It took about 3 weeks to get the photos back and when we did they looked great! I would highly recommend Yi to anyone, he did a great job! -

Amazing experience
We've recently received our wedding photos from Yi and they are just gorgeous!! Our experience was slightly different from most people's because Yi himself was not available on our wedding day (but we knew this before we booked with him), so he had his colleagues Allie and Isaak shoot our wedding, but Yi edited all of the photos. Allie and Issak were amazing the day of, getting so many shots that we had no idea were taken. They were so good at getting these amazing shots without us even noticing they were there. Yi made sure to check in with us ahead of the wedding to make sure that he knew what we wanted and talked us through the flow that would allow us to get all the shots we wanted in as little time as possible. Yi edited the photos beautifully and sent us hundreds of gorgeous images from our wedding day that we will treasure. I highly recommend hiring Yimotion Photography to capture your wedding or any other special moment! -

Truly an artist!
My husband and I got married this past October and i’m finally getting around to writing a review for the person who deserves it most from our wedding day. Yi is truly an artist. We hired him back in 2019 to take our engagement photos. He makes you feel relaxed and calm. I’m a very picky person when it comes to photography but when I saw his photos I knew I had to reach out. Our engagement photos came out phenomenal. They’re just breathtaking. After that I couldn’t WAIT to get married just to have wedding photos done by him. He was very accommodating when we had to reschedule due to Covid. When he sent me my sneak peek, my eyes filled with tears. My coworkers saw them and were in awe. He caught every genuine reaction from the guests and us and his artistic style of photography takes your breath away. Any time I see my guests, they always mention many times how talented our photographer was. We couldn’t be happier. He’s a true professional and artist and he’s worth every penny and more. On the day of the wedding he showed up promptly and managed to take charge in order to get all the perfect shots without being intrusive, getting all the details of the day and making everyone feel very comfortable. We are the type of couple who wanted to put our full trust in the people we hired for the wedding, we did not want to endlessly search Pinterest or come up with a rigid game plan and Yi was able to capture the magic of the day and get all the photos that we would have never thought of. AMAZING Photographer!
We originally hired Yi in October of 2019 to take our engagement photos. We LOVED the result, and spent a day in some of our favorite spots in Boston near our home while he captured photos that we were both very happy with. We had a large ceremony planned for November 2020, but of course given the pandemic, we could not go forward with our original plan. We ultimately decided to have a very small ceremony on our planned date. Yi was incredibly supportive during this entire process, and was able to take photos at our small wedding ceremony. Although we were sad not to have our originally planned wedding as we envisioned it, we ended up having more time than we otherwise would have to take some beautiful wedding photos. We have such wonderful memories from that day, and Yi captured so many important moments. We highly recommend his services! He is very professional, and we love his photography style - very authentic and provides a beautifully polished look. We are very happy with our engagement and wedding photos! -

We hired Yi after extensive searching and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience and results. As most photographers are very similar (bright, outdoors, all alike), we wanted a photographer whose work would stand out. Yi is extremely creative in his shots and methodically plans how to capture each moment perfectly. His artistic side really brings the photos to life and makes people want to see more. After consulting with Yi on the phone, he was very receptive to what we needed for the day. With Covid disrupting everything, he really went above and beyond with patience and accommodation. Our engagement shoot went so smoothly and the photographs with his edits were outstanding. We received so many compliments!! The day of our wedding he made sure to capture everything we asked for and he was even able to give me some edited photos the next day - talk about being attentive and fast worker. The dozen or so we have seen really blew us away. I can’t say enough good things about Yi and would recommend him to anyone with no hesitation! So happy we went with Yi!!! -

The BEST photographer who likes a challenge!
Hands down the BEST photographer in Massachusetts! If you are camera shy, Yi accepts that challenge and will bring out the inner beauty in you--something he catches onto and sees that others might miss. Thank you for truly making me feel like a real-life princess, and having fun while carrying out that vision. You turned this into a dream and made us look like something out of a magazine! What was most impressive is the amount of photos I LOVED (at least over 18 pictures) from ONLY a 30 minute photoshoot---that means that Yi's turnout was between 90%-100% and I basically loved or was satisfied with every photo we took (it's normal that about 10 minutes goes into time to switch positions, etc.). Now out of a 12 hour wedding/engagement shoot with another photographer (these photographers weren't just anyone by the way, they did some weddings for family members from the Kennedy family as well as weddings Justin Timberlake was a guest of), I only liked about 5 pictures with those photographers (which btw is very common and nothing wrong with them). However, that says A LOT about Yi's comprehensive talent! He not only gets the lighting and composition, but ALSO makes sure the subject looks good as well. And that is invaluable. Yi will make everyone look good, not just those who are already used to being photographed many times. Because of this, he has the talent and potential to really go far and from my experience and comparing him to other photographers I have worked with, I can without hesitation say that he is my favorite one and he just clicks (pun intended) with my ideas! He doesn't just press the button and expect the subject to do the work to look good, he actually tries to help you with some direction and he puts in the work to make sure you look good..and if you have a certain "vision" or "look" of yourself you want to be carried out, he is the guy who will listen and deliver. So, if you are used to being photographed, imagine how much better your photos would be with Yi, and if you are not used to being photographed and are camera-shy like me, then Yi is also that much more attentive and will pleasantly surprise you with how your photos turn out! Either way, Yi is the best photographer and is perfect for everyone! I am camera-shy, and if this is what Yi made us look like in only 30 minutes in the freezing cold, can you imagine what we will look like with 2 hours in warmer weather with him?! I wish I had met him sooner! I cannot wait to rebook him again (and again)! Also, I really appreciated his manners. He is very cool and relatable, but also professional and respectful. His prices are also very reasonable and standard, considering the high quality and incredible turnout of his photos. In comparison to other photographers and their prices, you get more and a better return with what you pay for with Yi. Needless to say, he is worth it! -

Yi is great! We immediately felt very comfortable with Yi and his team and were able to relax and have fun with throughout the whole process. He was very organized and open to any request we had. Yi & Sascha were the best! Yi was so responsible every hour of the days. He was so flexible with his service as well. When we had to change our 215 person wedding to a 35 person backyard ceremony they accommodated all of our new requests and adjusted his pricing. We wound up having Sascha on our new date due to availability and she checked every box. She got through our whole wedding checklist but was also so respectful of our time with our guests. She was friendly, not pushy at all, and the photos were unique to us as a couple. Yi walked me through our wedding album design from start to finish and made sure our albums were ready in time for Christmas presents for our families, We would recommend them and hire them again in a heartbeat. -

I had the pleasure of corresponding with Yi for photography and videography services for my wedding reception. From our first phone call to our last email, he was incredibly patient, kind, and responsive. You can tell he truly wants to do right by his clients which is evident by his transparency, graciousness, and commitment to his craft. I must have asked him 20 questions back to back at one point via email, and he answered each question with incredible detail and speed. Not to mention, his photos are beautiful! I’m so glad I found Yi online because he is the ideal wedding vendor! I wish i could give him more than five stars because he is deserving of all the accolades! -

Comfortable
Just like many other couple, we had to cancel our wedding this year due to the pandemic. We met Yi at a friend's wedding and were impressed with how personable he was. When the gorgeous pictures came out, we knew that we needed him to shoot our engagement and wedding photos. During our engagement session, we requested a lot of direction and Yi was great at helping give us just that, but also succeeded in making our photos look natural. Prior to our wedding day he met with us again to make sure that he knew exactly what we wanted. On wedding day, Yi captured special candid moments as well as helping direct us during our portrait photos. Yi is very easy to work with, is a pro at giving direction when needed but also makes you feel comfortable, and he has a great eye. We absolutely love how all our pictures came out. He even managed to capture our little flower-pup who hates having her picture taken. We highly recommend Yi! -

We had a fall engagement shoot with Yi in October and are so thrilled with the results! It was our first time doing a photoshoot, so we anticipated some awkwardness on our part, but Yi had a way of communicating with his couples that makes us feel so at ease. He is very personable and easy to work with. Prior to our shoot, Yi offered helpful suggestions on locations and timing to capture the fall foliage that I wanted. During the shoot, he took us to different spots and guided us on our poses that made us look so much more natural!
Yi communicated with us promptly throughout the whole experience and the results were amazing! We just sent out our save the dates and received so many compliments on our engagement photos! What attracts me the most to Yi's photography style is his ability to tell stories through his photos. He has a way of capturing special moments that tell a story about the couple, and to me that's an amazing talent. For the quality and professionalism of his work, his prices are also very reasonable compared to others in his field. Yi was so incredible from the day I called him and asked about his services. We were drawn to his colorful and stylistic photos, and he did not disappoint on our big day! During our first call, he was attentive, creative, and inquisitive; when we met for coffee, he came with great ideas for shot locations and helped us cement a rain plan in case the weather didn't cooperate. He stayed in touch during the months leading up to our wedding, and on the actual day, he and his assistant could not have been more kind.
Yi was great about ensuring we got all the shots we requested, but he really shined when setting up shots that caught his attention. He has an impeccable eye for framing and focusing—we were blown away with our final photos! He familiarized himself with the area before our wedding so he could recommend the best shots, but he is so great at spotting perfect places and moments for photos.
I cannot recommend Yi enough. He was professional, artistic, kind, patient, and incredibly easy to work with. -

We live in a Florida but decided to get married in my home state of Massachusetts. Planning a wedding out of state is extremely nerve racking. But I was so blessed to have found Yi. I always tell my wife that we were lucky to have found Yi, he completely understands that I sometimes cannot answer him right away due to my crazy work travel schedules but he is always professional and super responsive when I have a question. You get a lot of value from his work, as he enjoys photography and has fun with it. One of the biggest takeaways from my experience with Yi, is that he was so accommodating during our wedding day. It can be overwhelming handling multiple photo requests from family members and friends but Yi rose to the top and multi-tasked like a champ. The photos came out amazing and we get so many compliments on them.
I definitely recommend Yi, because not only will you gain a wonderful photographer but you will gain a friend. -
