Best day of our lives

Our wedding at the Wyndham was a literal dream. Wanda and the staff were all so kind and helpful and did whatever it took to make our night unforgettable. The planning process over a year dealing with a pandemic could have been extremely stressful but she was always so responsive and ready to help in and way possible. Would not change one thing about our night or the decision to have our reception here!

Amazing experience getting married at the Wyndham!

I’m so glad I went with the Wyndham! Wanda(the wedding planner) is very friendly, and knowledgeable. She makes sure the whole planning process goes well and even the day if she is there to keep everything going according to plan. I got married during the pandemic and she made sure I wasn’t ever stressed about anything! It’s also nice because they include the bar, menu, your room, and table centerpieces so you can spend more time planning things like wedding party gifts, wedding getting ready playlist, flowers, etc! 10/10 would recommend!

Halloween Wedding

Wanda and her staff gave us the wedding of our dreams! Very efficient in answering every question (even the dumb ones from me, lol). She was game for every thing we asked for, including trick or treating for the kids that came and everyone coming in costume. She was very patient when we ran behind with getting the ceremony started and our pictures getting done and still had all of us catch up with the schedule. Nothing but good things. Also 100/10 for the food! We had prime rib and roasted turkey and it was perfection! We got a lot of comments about how good the food was for our guests and how much fun they had! I will always recommend Wanda and the Wyndham Hotel for any event big or small. Amazing!!

Wyndham Gettysburg Rehearsal Dinner

We had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Wyndham Gettysburg. The appetizers were beautifully displayed and delicious. We also had a taco bar which was so fun and delicious. The dessert bar offered many choices all of which were scrumptious. Everyone raved about the food! The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Great experience!

Service, value and making a special event an Outstanding event!

The Wyndham Gettysburg is a great and all inclusive venue! It provides a one stop for a destination wedding along with outstanding luxury accomodations, excellent food and comprehensive wedding planning that provides experience and assures both quality and value. They are flexible to make it your "special day" and it's all about you and your event and how they can make it great. The wedding planner Wanda comes with decades of experience and a keen sense of what will work and what wont. She makes suggestions but doesn't dominate and understands that it is your decision for your day. The prices are very reasonable and the "package" approach as well as centralization will save lots of money without reducing the quality and luxury that makes your wedding day so special. THANKS WYNDHAM for a memorable and special event!

Patel/Gandotra Wedding

Wanda and the entire hotel staff were so pleasant the entire weekend. Another big Indian wedding for them seemed to be second nature. They were present for the entire wedding and reception to make sure everything went accordingly. Hotel was clean and organized. Everything went perfectly.

Absolutely the best Reception venue and All guests loved it!

The meetings with Wanda, the Event Planner, 6 months before the Wedding were very informative. Then, a few months before the actual date, Wanda again, cheerfully and patiently answered every question that I had as well as the bride and groom. The were able to try a variety of the foods that would be on the Brunch Reception, on the Wedding day. On the Wedding day, absolutely everything was fabulous and went smoothly. All of our guests loved the cocktail hour and the foods offered from 12 - 1 and then the 4 meat Brunch and breakfast items were of the highest quality. We have already recommended this venue for a friend's upcoming reception!

Wonderful staff

Very professional, highly responsive, friendly and courteous. Attentive to our needs and everything ran smoothly with the staff. Wanda made sure our needs were met and we approved of everything each step of the way. No hidden costs. Great email communication and quick response time with calls. Food was excellent and everyone agreed. Some of the best wedding food they've ever had. Some said it was the best brunch they've ever had. Great venue, clean rooms, great location.

Everyone was helpful, courteous, and informative. We felt that Wyndom truly cared about our very special event -our daughter’s wedding. perfect!

We had an absolutely great experience as Wanda Gemmell led us through the steps for our daughter’s wedding . She helped answer all questions, gave us true and tried advise, and let us know she cared and was on our team. She alleviated many anxious thoughts. The food tasting was delicious and the wedding reception food was just as delicious -the chicken, steak, and even the fresh salad, and cooked vegetables were perfect, and the warm rolls and butter. Everyone had great food experience and the best wedding food I have eaten. The recommendation of Cakes by Susie was a 10. The most beautiful cake and delicious we ever had at a Wedding! Allowing the groom’s dog in the ceremony was so gracious and important to him. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful and the chairs so very neatly placed for us. The experience the Wyndom made for us was awesome !! Thank you so very much for your excellence and it made a wonderful day of memories!

Wedding Ceremony and Reception

Our wedding experience was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend the Wyndham for any occasion. The customer service was great. They truly cared about making my husband and I happy and made sure everything was perfect for us. Not to mention 30 minutes before I walked down the aisle, they had a group in the room where our reception was held and after our ceremony, the room was fully decorated in our theme and there wasn’t one thing I would change. You can tell Wanda and Mike truly love their job. It is very affordable for the amount of service they give to you. Highly 10/10 recommend.

Our Wedding Day was just perfect Thanks to Wyndham Gettysburg

Wanda and her team were amazing. Everybody was so kind, flexible and welcoming, They worked very hard to make sure our day was how we wanted. Wanda is amazing, friendly and knows a lot about planning and wedding. The food was delicious, they were on time, just everything you need for your big day. We held our son's wedding rehearsal dinner in the 1863 restaurant in the Wyndham on Dec. 30, 2017. We had the Classic Buffet and an open bar for 38 people. We were able to decorate an entry table, a credenza table, and have a special table for the groom's cake. The catering sales manager, Jenn Williams, and the restaurant manager, John Mejias, helped us coordinate many details via phone and email as we live in Virginia. The guests said the food was delicious!! The restaurant was very cozy. It was an ideal location as all the wedding guests were staying at the Wyndham. After the dinner was over many of our guests went down the hall to the hotel bar and continued to socialize. The weather was extremely cold so it was perfect to have dinner, socialize at the bar, and then go upstairs to our rooms. The Wyndham staff were very attentive and professional. All of my expectations were exceeded. I used the cake baker and florist that Jenn recommended and both were outstanding! Jenn and John were extremely knowledgeable and eager to accomodate us.

We really enjoyed holding our wedding at the Wyndham Gettysburg. I felt like my questions were answered in a timely manner and the staff at the venue during the wedding were excellent and attentive. We chose the "stations" dinner option and have received a lot of great feedback about how great the dinner was. We truly loved the cake vendor that the hotel connected us to, Cakes by Susie, and we were also connected to our DJ and florist through the hotel- both of which were excellent. We didn't want a traditional wedding with all the usual bells and whistles and I felt like everyone went along with my vision for no fuss wedding.

We worked with Jenn and Wanda for our wedding. Jenn is the wedding coordinator and helped us with getting everything planned and set up. She was very helpful and responsive to my messages. She made our wedding day run nice and smooth and took care of everything! Wanda, the banquet manager, is fabulous as well! She took care of everything for the reception! Anything we needed she helped us with very quickly! The Wyndham as a whole is just a gorgeous venue! The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! They keep everything top notch and whatever you need they have no problem helping you. All the staff is extremely helpful. The restaurant manager is very nice as welI! I would definitely recommend them as a wedding venue! They take a lot of stress off planning and do everything for you from start to finish!

The Wyndham Gettysburg was beautiful and worked with me to make a perfect day! My only suggestion to couples is to add the extra hour of bar time and your DJ to be able to get all of the dancing you want after the traditional events.

We could not have chosen a better wedding reception venue for our 325+ guests. And we visited at least 12 other area venues. Wanda and Team were absolutely amazing during the year long planning process and right up to the Big Day. What a Day it was:) Every detail was perfectly taken care of and the ballroom was absolutely beautiful. The appetizers, dinner, cake, desserts and drinks were more then awesome. Most of our guests had such a great time that they didn't want to leave, so they closed down the bar and enjoyed their stay at the Wyndham.

Wow!!!! Where to start! This wedding venue is beyond my dreams. Wanda is the best wedding coordinator I could have ever asked for! She answered all my questions and helped in anyway she could to help ease our stress! The venue itself is gorgeous especially around Christmas! There were so many nooks and crannies that were perfect for pictures. The food was amazing and oh my gosh the cake! My guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious and beautiful it was!!! The staff was there the day of for whatever I needed very efficient and always with a smile! The hotel itself is also amazing!!! The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready, plenty of room and good natural light! The staff brought up our presents and leftover cake after the wedding! It was so much fun being able to open them there and enjoy our night! I could continue on and on but, on the end all you need to know is look no further for an elegant venue for such a reasonable price!!!!!!!!

This is the only place to book in Gettysburg for ALL wedding functions which require: food, beverages or a place to stay. The venue is new and fresh. The food was exceptionally good. (We had a rehearsal dinner for about 60 and many guests commented about how good the food quality was!) The staff, Wanda Gemmell and those under her, were flexible, always available and creative. We were allowed to provide our own wine. The guest rooms were clean and attractive. The onsite Restaurant and Bar meant we could hold family gatherings right at the hotel. If I had it to do again I would book it ALL at the Wyndham!

Wanda (their coordinator), was wonderful to work with, and is always available every step of the way! They arranged everything from setting up blocks for the guests, to creating signature drinks, arranging the room to match your colors (You don't have to worry about decorating the buffet table)! She, and the staff did wonders to make our guests feel comfortable, and have an amazing time! I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking to plan a wedding in Gettysburg.

What an exceptional experience! From start to finish, the Wyndham provided EVERYTHING we could need on our special day. From accommodating special requests to keeping us informed, they went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing day. We truly felt like royalty, and so many guests told us it was the best wedding reception they had been to. I can't recommend them enough!

We were so happy that we selected the Wyndham for our wedding ceremony & reception. From start to finish Wanda Gemmell went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. She was absolutely amazing to work with as she was quick to answer any questions and give us any advice that we needed. The food was amazing and we received numerous compliments from our guests as to how pleased they were with everything. This venue was perfect for our wedding day! We had both the ceremony and reception here and it went off without a hitch. Everyone was so friendly and the service was excellent. The employees were very tentative the awards banquet and were discreet in serving the dessert. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. They provided last minute items to run the Coach's projector. I received a lot of compliments from parents that this was nice and they had a great time! Thank you again!

I work in the wedding industry and knew I wanted a venue that offered exceptional service. I found that and more with the Wyndham Gettysburg. From the beginning, Wanda was amazing! Every time I stepped foot on the Wyndham property, I was wowed with the service and friendliness of the staff. On the day of my wedding, they did not disappoint. From the placement of my favors to the service of the meal, everything was done according to my specifications. This hotel knows how to take care of their clients and guests!

The food was beyond delicious! A lot of my guests work in the service industry and every last one of them was impressed with the quality, taste and presentation of the meal and hors d'oeuvres. The options were plentiful and the price was reasonable.

We had several guests stay on property both the day before and the day of the wedding. The overnight rooms were beautiful and clean. Check in was a breeze. Every staff member we encountered was polite and friendly.

I would recommend this venue over and over again. There is not one thing I would have changed! If you are looking for a wedding venue that will provide you and your guests with exceptional service, delicious food and a beautiful setting...all at a reasonable price, book the Wyndham Gettysburg. You will not be disappointed!

Wanda Gemmell was just terrific to work with. Her staff did a wonderful job and the food was awesome. We just couldn't be happier with everything. Oh, and the Wyndham couldn't be easier to get to, just off of route 15... It made it so convenient for our guests all 200+ of them.

If you are getting married in Gettysburg, this is a must for a reception venue! Wanda Gimmel, the wedding planner, was AMAZING. So thoughtful and attentive the entire way through. She made our day so special. Chef Claude is the best and his creations are one of a kind! John the hotel manager oversaw our event and made sure all of our guests were taken care of. Everyone said over and over how perfect the reception was! It was absolutely beautiful and memorable. I am forever grateful for Wanda for everything, she orchestrated a perfect event for us.

Wanda and her staff did an amazing job setting up the reception area with all the extra requests and materials we provided her!!!! She has a positive attitude and made the whole event less stressful. The dining room with lighting and arrangement was perfect, the atmosphere everywhere (bar and cocktail area, outdoors patio, bathrooms) was detail oriented and flowed easily for our guests. Numerous guests said it was beautiful as well as complimented the number of meals all arriving timely and scrumptious (tenderloins melted in our mouths). The wait staff were courteous and helpful in every way. The arrangements of our decorations were carefully taken care of, even flower bouquets for storage till the following morning so we did not have to deal with that on the wedding night. The hotel helped to move the newly weds belongings into their room for them while we were busy with the ceremony elsewhere. We could not have asked for a better location or staff to work with us!!!!

The Wyndham Gettysburg was a phenomenal place to have our wedding! Our family and friends, all these months later, still talk about the venue, food, and atmosphere :-) Much of our family and friends were in from out of town, so the Wyndham provided a great atmosphere to have our events (ceremony and receoption). The Wyndham exceeded all our expectations and then some.
As for Wanda, the Wyndham's Gettysburg Wedding Coordinator, there is not enough wonderful things to say about her and her influence on our wedding. Wanda went above and beyond in answering our questions, making sure everything was perfect, and just helping us to make sure this time in our lives was very special. Wanda became more than just a wedding coordinator and played such an important role during our journey of getting married.
We love the Wyndham and Wanda!!

They were very accommodating and flexible and they really worked with me and my now husband so that our wedding could be not only a success but be exactly what we envisioned and planned it to be. Wanda and the staff at the hotel were simply amazing! It was a joy to work with them. From the beginning of us sitting down speaking to Wanda until the day we left the hotel, everything was beautiful. From the food to the service, everything was more than we could have asked for. From day one we knew we were in good hands with Wanda, Kelly and the staff at the Wyndham Gettysburg. The actual day of our wedding we never expected it to be even more incredible than we anticipated. The Wyndham Gettysburg was the best hotel for my wedding. Wanda and her staff are the BEST!!! Being out of town (not from Gettysburg), I had no worries that my day wasn't going to be perfect. Everything from menu planning, hotel rooms being blocked, the cake, special requested champagne, to my wedding day was done with professionalism and attention to detail. I am writng this review about 6 months after our wedding, and to this day our wedding is the most talked about wedding in our families. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time. This was my first daughter to be married. While I usually have control and put work/operation processes into play for my day to day job, a wedding is way out of my league. My daughter and wife led the charge of what had to be done and how, while the planning was 23 months in the making the people at The Wyndham Gettysburg, especially Wanda went above and beyond expectations. Every detail, the staff, was nailed to near perfection. I have told everyone that has asked (and to some that have not asked), if I had scripted the entire event I could not have scripted it any better than the end result.

We chose the Wyndham of Gettysburg for our Wedding reception. Gettysburg was the perfect location (right off of Route 15) for our big day and great for accommodating out of town guests. Our wedding was large- just shy of 300 guests. The coordinator, Wanda, couldn't have been more helpful during the planning process. On many occasions, she helped to calm my nerves regarding the details of the reception and I always felt that our wedding was top priority. The Ball Room is beautiful and classy- we didn't have to do anything special or expensive to dress it up past the table runners and flowers. The Wyndham was extremely accommodating to our vendors and even our florist commented on how organized and courteous the staff was to work with. All the preparation work- as perfect as it was- fails to compare to the actual service the night of our wedding. Guests enjoyed freshly-squeezed Orange Crushes thanks to the tireless effort of the banquet staff and bar tenders. We got to take a glance at the Ball Room before our guests were allowed in and it was perfectly enchanting. Our meal was served quickly and professionally. I've never seen a place serve 300 people so seamlessly. The food was delicious! Never a long line at the bar and Kelly (Maître D) had a keen sense of when we were getting thirsty and was always there with a fresh Orange Crush. Our time at the Wyndham was perfect. After the reception was technically over- the party moved to the lobby bar. Even though it was last call, the bartenders were good sports about stretching last call to accommodate our guests. At our send off breakfast the next morning we had the same courteous service with many familiar faces. I highly recommend the Wyndham to any bride and groom looking for a venue that will take pride in putting on your event and treat you with the highest level of respect. We were looking for a venue to make our 'compound' for the weekend and we found it (and much more) with the Wyndham of Gettysburg.

The Wyndham was the perfect site for our special wedding festivities. Angie Kemp and the rest of her staff were accommodating with all of my specific and unique requests. The site has everything and more to offer any bride and groom on their big day! The features and benefits are too numerous to mention them all, but a few of them include onsite audiovisual services for eloquent and professional lighting, custom drink creations, specialized cocktail services prior to the ceremony, varieties of food and bar options, specialized presetting of decorations for the desired environment, and a king suite for the newlyweds after the evening has concluded. There was no request too small, and all ideas were thoughtfully and honestly considered. The planning was enjoyable and stress-free! Throughout every minute of our experience we were made to feel as if we were the only wedding they were planning and hosting at their venue.

The day of our wedding I was greeted in the front lobby by Angie Kemp, who was more than just an employee of the Wyndham, she was an integral part of our perfect day! She was so excited for us, and made sure that we had everything we needed. She, and the courteous hotel staff went above and beyond to make our entire bridal party and guests feel welcome.

Throughout the event we were met with genuine smiles and congratulations from the staff servicing our event. Overall, the experience greatly exceeded everyone of my very high expectations! Thanks to all at the Wyndham for giving us a once in a life time experience!

I just had my wedding there this past Saturday and I couldn't have been happier! The service was top of the line, the rooms were very clean, and the food was amazing! We did stations (turkey carving, mashed potato bar, and a pasta bar) and everything was a huge hit! They also did a great job of cleaning off our cut cutting set and flutes and packing everything up for us (all our decorations and special items we brought).

My only complaint (if I had to choose one) would have been I could hear the music from the wedding going on next to us during our ceremony. But I really don't think it took anything away from the meaning or special-ness of my day.

I absolutely loved working with the Wyndham. Not only did they provide excellent service for my husband and I, but they provided excellent service to our guests. Often times, the guests get forgotten while the head table and parents are taken care of. This was not the case with the Wyndham.

All of the staff are on the same page with the highest expectations for every event that they have. My wedding planner quit a month before the wedding, yet they did not miss one aspect that I wanted for my wedding. They went over and above my expectations!!

This venue was AMAZING! We used it for both our ceremony and reception. It is an open and bright facility. The staff is wonderful to work with. Angie Kemp assisted me with everything leading up to the wedding. She served as basically a wedding planner once we had booked the facility. We had a food tasting there and the food was delicious. We had a lady in waiting the day of the wedding that took care of the bridal party. Angie coordinated everything the day of and made sure we were where we needed to be. She helped with set up, gave advice on a variety of things to make the day of extra special. Any little detail I added, she made sure it happened. She was easy to work with and always made sure I had what I needed. She even sent me an email saying she was so excited for my wedding the week of which made me feel like she cared about the event so much! I loved working with her and the rest of the staff. Our event went without a hitch and for the many people who told me that everything wouldn't go as planned...they were off because I had everything I wanted with this hotel.

Wanda was amazing! Everything went off perfectly. The head server made sure me and my bride did not have to wait for anything. We had the bridal suite for two nights at the hotel (bride stayed solo the night before and we both stayed after the wedding), they made sure we had an "extra" dinner tucked away in the suite incase we didn't get time to enjoy ours during the reception. We also had dipped strawberries and champaiign waiting on us in our room.
Tho only downside is the brewpub located in walking distance closes down by midnight...but the lobby accommodated us until the wee hours as the party continued after the reception!

Wedding Venue

Our wedding was perfect Wanda listened to all my needs (without me becoming bridezilla) and made our day come true (esp with the lay out I wanted) and it was so majical. I cant believe its over and flew by. Only think I did take notice to was our vegetarian meal is not what we ordered but everyone enjoyed it reguardless. We couldn't have been any happier and over the moon with our special day.

We had our reception at the Wyndham 7-12-14. The hotel was beautiful, staff friendly & the location was great! Food: Stations Package. Better than expected! Many guests went back for seconds & the Wedding Cake was amazing! Ballroom: Setup was beautiful. Staff paid attention to every detail! They staged our wedding favors, pictures, candles, etc exactly how we envisioned. They even went above & beyond by placing unopened blooms from our flower arrangements across some of the extra tables (Gift, Memorial, etc) to make them blend with the room better. Staff: Our attendant, Ms. Kelly Smith, made our night carefree. From the moment we entered the staging room until the end of the evening, she treated us like royalty! Every last detail that we could think of was handled. For the entire night she ensured that no one at the head table ever had an empty glass! While our guests were watching us enter the room, she tucked our ‘go bags’ under the head table. When dinner was served she escorted the bride to the buffet line to ‘fix & carry’ her plate for her -just to ensure that nothing was spilled on her dress in the process! When we were at a loss for the best way to cut the cake Kelly quickly moved in to rescue us again with her guidance! At the end of the evening, in addition to moving our gift table to our suite, she also plated 2 full meals complete with wedding cake and had them delivered as well. She was aware that in all the excitement neither of us had really had time to eat! She was absolutely amazing! She waited on us hand & foot for 4.5 hours straight! I know that without her services our night would not have been as special. Thank you Kelly! Bar: The Name Brand Liquor package was very nice. We had two signature drinks that were very popular & the bar tenders were on top of their game all night. Only one complaint from a guest – they ran out of Jim Beam – we were told they would not run out of any liquor. Not the end of the world.

The event planner (Wanda Gemmell) was awesome and very detail orientated. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. During the event, she was called away to take care of another matter... the person left in charge was not so capable.

Guests felt extremely rushed because the staff was in a hurry to setup for a bigger event that needed the space our event was in. One guest reported that a waiter acted as though he was asked to give up his first born child when asked to return the dinner rolls to the table that were taken away before anyone had a chance to get one.

Overall, it was a great experience!

Rehearsal dinner - the waiter was exceptional and would highly recommend his services
Breakfast staff - distant and not friendly to guests; failed to refill breakfast buffet items such as pastries and muffins

Unbelievable

The Wyndham scheduled a 1,000 person car show on our wedding day - 2 weeks before our wedding. With Covid concerns, we could not in good conscience have our wedding at the Wyndham. We found another venue, quickly, and spent all of the next two weeks re-planning our wedding which had been booked at the Wyndham for 15 months. Then, it took many weeks and many phone calls to get our money back from the Wyndham. The Wyndham caused us a lot of unwanted stress and worry.

Absolutely No!

This review is solely based on the Wyndham Gettysburg's wedding venue and planning process. I wish there was an option to give 0 stars however there is not. Below is my wife and I's experience with our wedding planning process through the Wyndham.

We booked our venue through the Wyndham in May of 2019 and our wedding was August 22 of 2020 outside in the field in front the hotel. On August 8 we were informed by the wedding planner that there would also be a car show on the SAME day of our outdoor wedding. Keep in mind this is during a global pandemic. The wedding planner suggested we move the wedding inside in order to get away from the cars. This was completely unacceptable, the entire reason we booked through the Wyndham was to have our wedding outside. As you can probably imagine, my wife and I had many problems with this car show. First, car shows take months to plan as they were anticipating 1000 people to attend. Upon doing some research we found that the car show had previously been canceled in Allentown. How was it legal to have this car show in Gettysburg but not in Allentown? Something was definitely not right. L

For some reason, we were informed about 2 weeks before our wedding. This was an effort by the Wyndham to trap us by not letting us know until we were extremely close to our day. Second, how can it possibly be safe to have over 1000 people on the Wyndham property during a global pandemic? We brought the above question along with many others to the wedding planner however she was unable to respond. The wedding planner promised us a new spot outside for our wedding away from the car show. When we went to view it, it was down a side street, on a patchy and rocky plot of land with pipes sticking out of the ground. Clearly this was not what we had in mind.

The above actions described by the wyndham were a clear attempt to trap my wife and I into having a wedding that was far from our vision in mind while also disregarding public safety rules and regulations put in place by the PA health department. I would NEVER recommend anyone having their wedding at the Wyndham because of their lack of honesty, lack of transparency, lack of value for their guests.

I want to start by saying, the Wyndham itself is a beautiful venue and the food was great, but unfortunately, all I can say is how disappointed we were with Wanda and her staff when it came to our big day. From the moment we sat down for dinner and throughout the entire night, my husband and I were constantly nagged by staff about contract details that were previously taken care of and that should have been a nonissue. We were never offered a single drink or a refill on water, or even a piece of cake. The bartenders and staff were rude to both my husband and I and our guests, and Wanda just sat back and watched. We even had to ask one of the bartenders to leave. After the fact, Peter, the general manager, was great and truly did all he could to make things up to us, but unfortunately, we cannot get the day or the memories back. If we could do our day over again, we would have never trusted Wanda with our special day.
