Winterlyn gave us an amazing photoshoot and pictures!
Winterlyn is an AMAZING photographer and person! My now fiancé and I didn't know what to expect with this being our first photoshoot ever. She was very professional and responsive when it came to all of our questions. There was even a questionnaire to get to know us a little more prior to the shoot. We thought it was going to be a hard thing to plan, as we live in out of town. The hardest part was searching for photographers we liked, but we saw Winterlyn's work and how reasonable she is and had to jump on it!
The day of, Winterlyn was early and ready to get started. She came with such a positive attitude and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. We did not expect to climb up on things and run across the street BUT it was so worth it!! We did an outfit change and booked for 2 hours and the time flew.
We definitely recommend if you're looking for an awesome photographer in Chicago!
Our pictures came out soooo beautiful! We look like we should be in a magazine 🙂. We will be using them at our wedding.

She creates and captures magic!
Winterlyn creates magic. I look back on the gallery she created for our engagement shoot and wedding day and can’t stop smiling. She perfectly captured all our special moments at our wedding. Gorgeous Photos, Amazing Vendor Experience
From our very first Zoom call in 2020, Winterlyn was a front runner in our search for a wedding photographer. Not only are her photographs absolutely stunning but from day 1 she was a great communicator, kind, warm, and fun to be around. We had to delay booking her due to some changes with our venue selection, but she kept in touch and ultimately we were able to book her for our October 2022 wedding.
Our engagement shoot was so much fun! She helped us feel at ease and laughed away the evening with us as we learned how to get comfortable together in front of the camera. She was also willing to include our pup in the photos, which meant a lot to us!
Her planning materials, blog and social media posts, and willingness to answer any questions throughout the process really helped to put my worries at ease. She reviewed our detailed timeline to ensure all of our priorities for photos were incorporated, and she offered great suggestions too.
Day of, she and her second shooter were an absolute dream team! It was a brisk and windy day, but they had smiles on their faces the entire time and were sure to capture every moment of our special day. We are so in love with our photos!
The only advice I would leave for couples is to explicitly communicate any “must have” photos. She incorporated some photo inspiration ideas I had, but I failed to request a few photos that looking back would have been really amazing to have. For example, there’s not a portrait style photo of us both (bride and groom) looking directly at the camera; and there aren’t any photos of our parents as individual couples, just the family formals with us. This isn’t a ding on Winterlyn at all, just a piece of advice I’d offer to couples in the future.
If you want a great photographer and smooth vendor experience, you cannot go wrong with Winterlyn! Highly recommend her!!

Choose Winterlyn & The Rest Falls Into Place...
Selecting a photographer was one of the most important investments and aspects of wedding planning. After a lot of research, we found Winterlyn and were blown away by her realness – to put it simply, she was a breath of fresh air and a warm guide in an industry with so many choices to make. Her impressive portfolio gave us confidence in her ability to capture beautiful aesthetics and authentic moments.
Doing an engagement shoot with her a few months before the wedding taught us how to be comfortable in front of the camera and built additional trust between us. Leading up to the wedding day, she provided insights that helped shape our timeline and gave us ideas on things that turned out incredible in photos and in the moment – like our confetti popper send off. She has systems in place that she personalizes to share best practices that suit you and your vision best. I knew very little about weddings before getting engaged and she was a great resource through the planning process.
The day of the wedding, Winterlyn and her second shooter Monica were the ultimate professionals and made our family and friends feel at ease. It was amazing to see how well they were able to wrangle large groups with kids into a photo, while also getting those unposed shots that really tell a story. I was also stunned by how fast she turned around the gallery and the quality that she was able to achieve in such a short timeframe. This speaks to her passion for her craft. Our family and friends have all commented on how hard it will be for us to pick which photos we want to print because there are so many perfect options. We cannot thank Winterlyn enough for the imprint she had on this special day. It truly was a wonderful experience getting to work with her and I cannot recommend her enough.

Best Wedding Photographer
Winterlyn was absolutely amazing to work with. We were living on the East coast, planning a wedding in the Chicagoland area and Winterlyn was not only a breeze to work remotely with to plan our details & shots but it was so comfortable to have her in the bridal suite and throughout the wedding. Winterlyn captured every moment and emotion and the photos are absolutely gorgeous. She even had them turned over to us in a week, which we were not expecting! Professional, talented and fun to work with!
There is a reason there are so many 5 star reviews for Winterlyn. She took a lot of incredible photos for our wedding, and that in it's own right would make her a valuable recommendation. It's immediately obvious how professionally crafted the shots were. They were varied, unique, highlighting different aspects to our character that no average person could capture. However, when it comes to her talent and experience, it goes beyond just the quality of the photographs. For our specific day nothing went as planned. The weather ended up being a miserable rainy day that would have been challenging for most. We were supposed to have the bulk of our photos taken at a park! We had no clue what to do. Winterlyn showed off her expertise by being able to pivot on the spot into other ideas that while less conventional, were able to best use the resources we had available. We spent the afternoon huddled under awnings outside with meager backgrounds of mall walls that to us seemed uninspiring. The problem was we couldn't see the creativity that she could. The photographs came out fantastic in spite of the challenges. She took something that seemed ordinary to everyone else and turned it into something extraordinary. That is the kind of gift that comes with her services. We certainly were NOT the best talented models for her to work with either. She was patient, understanding, and honestly a lot of fun to take the photographs with. While she is incredibly professional, she's very down to earth and approaches things the way an old friend might. She has a way of being warmly welcoming that set us at ease and made the entire process an enjoyable experience. Overall we are not only absolutely over the moon about the quality of the photographs we have to cherish as memories, but it was just a genuinely good time. We highly recommend booking her for your wedding. The value is definitely worth it!

A great choice!
Winterlyn did a fantastic job photographing our wedding! She went above and beyond throughout the process! After booking, she sent over a helpful packet of wedding and engagement photo tips. Our schedules were very busy, and she graciously understood when we had to change our engagement session a couple of times. The shoot was much more fun than we expected given her natural demeanor and guidance! We ended up booking a videographer for the wedding after the experience since we realized it could be fun to be on camera!
Before the wedding, she scoped out our ceremony and reception venues with her second and made sure we had clear photo lists so no moment was missed. She talked us through different timelines to make sure we had the day (and pictures) we desired!
She was so present throughout our twelve-hour day, excited about each new destination and photo opportunity! She made our family and wedding party comfortable and all the pictures were fantastic. As an added perk, she was incredibly efficient allowing us to spend precious moments with our loved ones.
One of our favorite things about the experience was the blog post she wrote and published within seven days of our wedding. It was incredibly personalized to our day and made us quite emotional on our honeymoon! It was nice to be able to share the ~75 pictures with family and friends almost immediately after the big day when everyone was still thinking about the ceremony and dance floor!
Winterlyn did an amazing job capturing the spirit of our day, and we are so happy she recommended to us!

Amazing Photographer!
Winterlyn is absolutely amazing!!! Due to Covid, my husband and I decided on a small courthouse wedding and wanted our special day to be captured so we could share them with family and friends who couldn’t be there. Winterlyn did an amazing job capturing our special day. She creates a special bond with her clients which made my husband and I feel comfortable and relaxed while working with her. Best Photographer Ever!
Words really cannot explain how happy I am that I hired Winterlyn to photograph my wedding. She has been absolutely amazing from the very beginning. Winterlyn always answered my questions promptly and accurately, and she gave me great advice. She was very thorough with the planning process and guided me the whole way as I planned my wedding all by myself. She did engagement photos for us which I loved and I used for my save the dates. I received so many compliments on my engagement photos! I received 970 BEAUTIFUL photos from my wedding day that I honestly can’t stop looking at. I received my gallery so quickly, even before I was home from my honeymoon! When I look at my wedding photos, I truly feel like I am reliving my wedding day. Choosing Winterlyn Photography to take our engagement photos was the best decision we made! Winterlyn was amazing and SO very accommodating! Living in Chicago, we wanted to have our pictures taken in New Orleans at a beautiful plantation, but had yet to find a location. Winterlyn not only came with us to New Orleans, but she also found us a location that fit our needs perfectly! Once we returned from our trip, it only took a couple of days to have our pictures presented to us. I absolutely LOVE our pictures, and would most definitely have Winterlyn Photography take our wedding pictures! I would highly recommend them to anyone whom wants great quality pictures, a fun experience, and friendly service!

I couldn't have picked any one better to take our pictures! I absolutely love our pictures. Not only that but Winter was so easy to talk to and so friendly. At the party my guests kept saying how the photographer was everywhere getting pictures and that's a good thing because that means she didn't miss any details. Every chance I get I will try to refer her.

We found Winterlyn through a general Google search, which brought us to Thumbtack. Out of the other photographers that we were matched with, Winterlyn had all of the qualities in her portfolio that we were looking for! We wanted to be sure that whoever we hired to photograph our wedding would be a professional and we could trust them to capture all the special moments from one of the biggest days of our lives!! From the time that we first messaged Winterlyn, she was professional and extremely responsive to all of our questions. A couple weeks before our wedding she sent a checklist of photo options, and was open to any ideas that we had as well.
The day of the wedding, Winterlyn arrived early and stayed past the time scheduled to ensure that she had captured all of the photos on the checklist (and more)!! A couple days later we received a "sneak peek" of photos from our wedding, via Facebook. We were ecstatic at how great they turned out!
After working with Winterlyn and seeing the quality of her photos, we would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking at hiring a photographer for any event! We definitely plan on using Winterlyn in the future!!

First and foremost we loved our wedding pictures! Winterlyn did an awesome job and was so accommodating! She arrived early and was willing to stay late when we asked her last minute to stay another hour. We wanted a second shooter and Winterlyn said no problem. She brought Julio with her and he was awesome too. In addition, we found her to be very reasonably priced when compared to other wedding photographers. She stayed a total of 10hr, with a second shooter, we got digital copies of all our photos, and she is designing an album for us. We definitely recommend her services!
