Excellent location for a wedding reception!! The staff was amazing and made it easy to plan a major event. Very easy to work with and willing to do whatever you want to make your special day perfect! Not to mention the food...not your typical convention center!! Five stars from me and my dad-zilla!!

The Wilmington Convention Center saved the day for our wedding photos! When the church wouldn't allow us to enter early for pictures, our reception venue allowed us to use their space early. They were incredible accommodating to me as a nursing new mother and bride. Everyone raved about the food and the setup and service throughout the night was professional and seamless. I always felt like during the entire planning process that WCC wanted us to have a beautiful day within our budget and we were never pressured or made to feel uncomfortable. We have attended military balls there as well and they were also beautiful. Wonderful all inclusive place to have your reception and take gorgeous pictures outside along the water!

First of all great customer service is an understatement. Mave and her team were absolutely AMAZING! Our wedding was originally scheduled to be outside and was rained out. Honestly it was the easiest transition indoors and so stress free thanks to their hard work! The timeline that we set with our photographers and Mave really helped the day run smoothly. The staff at the convention center was great about keeping our cocktail hour an hour when family photos started to run longer than expected. Honestly worth every penny! The spot is absolutely beautiful whether your wedding is inside or outside. There is plenty of space for parking with their attached parking deck. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and Mave. Book your wedding here or really any type of event!

The Wilmington Convention Center helped make our day special. Our guests had nothing but compliments for the venue and the dinner. We highly recommend this venue to all couples looking for a place to get married and have a reception.

Nikki, Leigh, Julio and the staff at the Wilmington Convention center made my daughter's wedding the special day we were hoping for! Everything was perfect!

Choosing the Convention Center as my venue was the first and best thing I did in planning my own wedding. Working with Meagan was very easy. The location is great, being right on the riverwalk is beautiful. I did most of my correspondence through email, and Meagan was quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. The day of our wedding we couldn't have asked for better service. Our ceremony setup was perfect, and everything went extremely easy. Everyone there continued to check with us to make sure we had everthing and anything we needed. Since I had planned everything myself, Meagan even stepped in with a little extra help to make sure everyone was walking towards the aisle in correct order. The entire staff was very professional and did an excellent job to make sure our day was perfect. And the food was exceptional, I received many compliments on our selections, which the chef helped to make it exactly what we wanted. I can not say enough great things about them. One of the greatest things is that with the Convention Center there were so many things handled by the same vendor that it helped to relieve a lot of possible stress.
I have already recommended a few people to the convention center, and if I need a large space again, I will be calling them.

I loved working with everyone at the Wilmington Convention Center! So happy we chose this venue! The event space is beautiful, the food is great, and the entire staff is friendly and professional. We are still receiving compliments from our guests! The Wilmington Convention Center definitely exceeded our expectations! With their attention to detail and professionalism, I always felt very comfortable in the whole planning process. Highly recommended!

Meagan Lanier and the team at the Wilmington Convention Center helped make our dream wedding a reality! I remember seeing the ballroom for the first time when it was still under construction. I liked the facility, but Meagan made me see its true potential. From the moment we met with Meagan and decided to have our wedding at the brand new convention center, she was there every step of the way to guide us through the wedding planning process and made the experience very enjoyable for my husband and me.

Meagan, Nikki, Julio and Susan put so much effort into discussing all of our options with us, making the event set up for the reception and ceremony perfect and helping us come up with a delicious menu. Our wedding day went as smoothly as could be. The ceremony site was set up beautifully overlooking the Cape Fear River with staggered seating, which helped provide a sense of warmth and character to the area. The cocktail hour area was fantastic. The hallway outside the ballroom was lined with bistro tables and there were plenty of waiters on hand to pass out h’orderves. Nikki even made it possible for a slideshow of my husband and me to air on the screens throughout the hallway.

The ballroom area was absolutely beautiful. The table set up created a great ambiance and the black table linens and silver table sashes were lovely. The buffet ran smoothly and all our guests raved about the food. The ahi tuna station was fun, unique and so delicious. It was something new and innovative that many guests had never seen before. Meagan did an excellent job on the candy bar set up and the to-go boxes made a fantastic goody for guests to take home!

My husband and I can’t say enough about the professionalism, time and effort the convention center team put into our wedding. When we had a question, they were always eager to respond as quickly as possible through phone or email. We really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend the convention center to anyone planning a wedding or event.

I am so happy that I chose to have my wedding at the Wilmington Convention Center! Everything was perfect from the beginning. I had the ceremony outside on the lawn overlooking the Cape Fear River and the reception inside 3 salons of the Grand Ballroom. Everything was beautiful! They provided the catering, the cake, and all of the chair/table/linen/etc rentals. Mave and Nikki were wonderful to work with and SO helpful! Mave even offered to help with my centerpieces when I didn't have time to do them! All the way through the end of the day, they were so nice and helpful. Thank you guys so much!

We had our wedding reception at the Wilmington Convention Center. We were looking for a traditional sort of "one stop shop" for a reception and this fit the bill. For 100 guests it was the most reasonable place in downtown Wilmington for a beautiful, classic ballroom, passed appetizers, plated dinner, and open bar. Their banquet and catering managers are pleasant and accommodating, and made sure everything ran smoothly.

Everything was wonderful and professional but venue is pricey(only reason for 4.8 stars). The nice thing is they do provide the caterer and it's one less thing to worry about. The food is amazing so no need for a $75/person tasting!! They provide basic linens and basic table and chairs. My day went very smoothly with this venue and if you have the money I totally recommend it!

I LOVED the WCC and all the staff. The event turned out wonderful, and we were so pleased.

One thing that I wasn't very happy with was the length of time we had the venue. The cocktail hour and reception went by so fast, we barely had time to do anything fun. It was like each thing went back to back and then it was over. I think for the amount of money we paid to have the event there, having an extra hour or two should not have been so expensive (it ends up being over 3.00/person/hour or more - we had ~250ppl). Five hours just isn't enough when you include a cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, cake cutting, etc. We barely took any photos after the ceremony because we were so short on time.

All in all, this was a GREAT location with GREAT food and GREAT staff.

Leigh is simple the best and is one of the main reasons we chose this venue. Not only is it beautiful but the atmosphere is amazing.

The food was amazing and the actual wedding day went beautifully. Although the work to get up to that day was extremely difficult. Pros are that mostly everything is included in their packages which made things easy. Cons: poor customer service, our perception was our account was a burden to our coordinator, lack of good communication skills until just prior to the wedding.
