I cannot recommend Katie enough as THE wedding planner/coordinator you should get for your wedding day. Katie had an impossible job - trying to unify my and my husband's visions (which were usually almost opposite of eachother) into a cohesive event, in a very spatially restrictive venue, with very unique components (turning our ceremony space into a surprise rock band performance and back into a reception/dance floor). Not only did she do it flawlessly while having us both feeling heard and represented, but she also had things under control in such a way that I felt not one single, solitary, SPECK of stress on our wedding day and was able to be carried away by the bliss and serenity of the best day, evening, and night ever (and that is a huge feat as I can confidently say I've never NOT been stressed a single day or hour in my life). Katie knows her stuff, can anticipate potential problems and comes up with creative and effective solutions, and goes above and beyond to help bring our visions to life. And, she's an all-around lovely person. If you choose Willow and Waylon Events for your wedding day, you won't be disappointed!

Katie did an incredible job as our wedding planner! Our wedding was around 125 people at our local nature center. From the time we started working together to the night of our wedding, she made sure every detail was perfect. She checked in with us routinely to make sure we were staying on track and on schedule. We got married on August 22, 2025, at the St. James in Milwaukee, and having Katie as our wedding coordinator was one of the best decisions we made. She was incredibly familiar with the venue, which made everything smoother and gave us so much peace of mind.
From the beginning, Katie struck the perfect balance between offering expert recommendations—based on what she’s seen work well—and giving us the freedom to make choices that felt true to us. It never felt like she was pushing a “one-size-fits-all” approach; instead, she genuinely wanted our day to reflect us.
As a bride, I had my fair share of nerves and stress, and Katie was amazing at calming me down and keeping everything on track. She was easy to talk to, super organized, and just felt like someone I clicked with instantly. I cannot express enough how having Katie around for our rehearsal and big day made everything so much easier. Throughout the whole planning process she was so helpful, organized, calm (a huge plus), and brought things to our attention we would’ve otherwise missed. On the big day, she did so much that I am aware of but also I’m sure a myriad of things were resolved by her that I don’t know about (and don’t need to). The day ran smoothly, and my husband and I and our families didn’t need to think about logistics at all. Couldn't have done it without her!
We used Katie's partial planning service which included day-of coordination. I truly don't think we could have pulled our wedding off without her! She is extremely knowledgable about local vendors which greatly reduced the amount of time I had to spend inquiring and booking. We had frequent, scheduled calls with Katie during which she would create a checklist for me to work on until the next call. If questions came up, she was quick to respond. I even received weekly check-in texts which I so appreciated because I had a lot going on in my life aside from wedding planning. She would also reach out to vendors on behalf of us to nail things down as the wedding date came closer.
Perhaps most importantly, Katie was a godsend on our wedding day. She was present at the rehearsal the evening before, so we felt confident about the ceremony. She ensured that any questions during the wedding were to be directed to her so the groom and I were able to enjoy our day. It was important to me that my family didn't have to help set-up or take down the venue. I didn't have to worry about this at all with Katie as she perfectly executed my vision for the day. At the end of the night she packed everything up and made sure it all went home with the right people.
Overall, I highly recommend that you use Willow and Waylon for your wedding. Katie's experience and expertise in the wedding industry is clear. Planning a wedding is no joke, but Katie made the experience much easier and I always felt supported. Thanks Katie! -

We can’t recommend Katie enough! She truly went above and beyond our expectations, acting not only as our day-of coordinator but also keeping us on track, organized, and stress-free throughout the entire planning process. We can honestly say that deciding to work with Katie was one of the best decisions we made for the entire wedding.
On our wedding day, she took charge of everything- managing our families, coordinating vendors, and ensuring all the details were handled. She was able to juggle different personalities with such ease and professionalism, which made a huge difference in keeping things calm and running smoothly. It almost felt like she was a therapist at times- helping us work through any stress or concerns, which was a huge relief when things started feeling overwhelming, both during the wedding planning and on the big day.
Thanks to her, we were able to truly relax, enjoy our day, and let our families enjoy it too- without worrying about setting up, tearing down, or managing logistics.
After the wedding, several of our guests even asked who she was because they were so impressed by how well she handled everything. One guest said, “She had such calm and approachable vibes,” which really captured the essence of how she made us feel.

Katie Jensen was exactly who we needed for our wedding. Our daughter was getting married and the initial plans came together well. However, several months before the wedding, the venue announced they were outsourcing the planning and catering of their events to an unnamed third party. This resulted in a great deal of uncertainty and angst leading up to the wedding.
Katie did a fantastic job helping us navigate through the change in circumstances and was a calming and reassuring voice when we needed it most. Throughout the time we worked with Katie she listened to our wants and concerns. She was very thoughtful in her approach and came up with incredibly helpful recommendations and solutions.
Katie’s process helped us be prepared for the actual ceremony. She was thorough and guided us through a well planned rehearsal that was still a very fun and enjoyable event. When it came time for the actually ceremony Katie was there to keep things on track and it all went according to plan…even the 16 month old flower girl cooperated!
Our investment in Katie’s time and services was a tremendous value. She did a fantastic job for us and did it in a very calm way throughout the whole wedding. In the end everything worked out well and we all had a great time.

Katie was an absolutely essential part of our wedding and the planning process, and a complete lifesaver! From our first call, I was amazed how quickly she got to know us and our vision, and she began organizing every little detail immediately into a master document for us. Each planning phone call picked up right where we had left off. A few days before the wedding, Katie came to pick up our decor so that we could fit our other things in one trip to the venue. We could not recommend working with Katie more! She works above and beyond the services of a typical day-of coordinator at a rate that was so well worth it in our budget. Katie is detail-oriented, empathetic, has a design eye, and is really invested in your event with a level of care and attention that you wouldn't realize she's doing this for so many other people too. I attribute my ability to be fully present the whole weekend of our wedding to the trust I was able to place in Katie. She navigated vendors, guests, anything unexpected that came up and had asked all the right questions months in advance to truly have a clear understanding of our vision. This really allowed her to execute, even remembering things that I forgot in the heat of the day that I had said were important to me. We worked with Katie for our wedding and we could not recommend her enough. We were unsure about incorporating a coordinator in our budget and I’m so glad we did. My partner and I both said it was the best decision we made. Katie was always timely and reliable with communication. During our planning calls, she brought up things that I never would have thought of which helped our day run smoothly. She always had patience with my many questions. She helped us personalize our day to be representative of us as a couple, highlighting what was important to us. She helped with communication and follow up with vendors which alleviated some of the stress and “to do” items leading up to the wedding. Katie was incredibly helpful with running our rehearsal, ensuring that our family and friends knew what to do and had their questions answered as well. Our day ran so smoothly and I’m sure there was much Katie helped with behind the scenes that made that happen. She helped with set up and take down of decorations, always made sure we had a drink if we wanted one, and was the go-to person for everyone’s questions which took a lot of stress of off me and allowed us to enjoy our day. Holy Cow! We could not have done this without Katie's help. First of all, she is so extremely knowledgeable about the wedding industry in general. She thought of things that we would not have in a million years known to consider.
Second, she enabled us to have FUN planning our wedding! We didn't have to worry about asking our bridal parties or families to help and then worry about them delivering on time because we had a highly capable professional making sure all milestones and deadlines were met.
Considering all the things you will spend money on heading towards your special day, hiring Katie was one of the most slam dunk-no doubt about it-absolutely worth it- expenses. Her rates are extremely reasonable/affordable, especially when I think about all of the time she took in meetings, texts, emails, and the day before/day of to make our wedding perfect.
Lastly, but maybe most importantly, she is just an amazing woman! Super easy to talk to, and she accomplished the herculean task of getting me (very type-A/used to running the show) to settle into less worrying about the wedding and just enjoying it while she worked. That is something me and my husband will remember and feel grateful for for the rest of our lives - we were truly able to enjoy our big day because we had Katie there to make sure everything was perfect.

Katie at Willow and Waylon Events was the most exceptional, trustworthy professional who coordinated and executed our wedding perfectly! Do yourself a favor and book Katie’s services to enjoy a stress-free event! I took off of work the week leading up to our wedding for final preparations, but I found myself with nothing to do (and even treated myself to a massage) because Katie had done such a great job of keeping us organized and on track for success in the weeks and months prior. As busy sales professionals, my husband and I really appreciated Katie taking the reins on everything and communicating with each vendor. Katie was just spectacular to work with from start to finish. She anticipated needs that I never would have thought about. Her attention to detail made my wedding day go smoothly. Katie was recommended by my florist, and when my florist told me that she is one the rare wedding coordinator coming in sneakers and not high heels on the day, always there to help out, I knew she was the one!
I can't thank Katie enough for the amazing job she did, from the rehearsal, to the decoration, and the whole execution.
We did not have an easy wedding since it was a French/American one, being myself a high-stress bride, having two separate venues, one for the ceremony (Villa Terrace) and one for the reception (The Cooperage) and having a clueless French family.
Katie is an AMAZING listener, she listened to everything we told her and she was able to bring our vision to life, bringing the two cultures together on our special day.
She were professional, ORGANIZED, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
From the initial planning stages to the execution on the day of the wedding, she was there every step of the way. After my initial consultation call with Katie, I hung up the phone feeling like I had just caught up with an old friend. I immediately knew that Willow and Waylon Events would be the perfect solution to my day-of wedding coordinating needs. And Katie exceeded expectations.
I was looking for a day-of coordinator because I knew that I wanted to enjoy my wedding day without worrying about the timeline of events. I also did not want to delegate those responsibilities to another wedding guest. She asked great questions and offered helpful suggestions at our calls leading up to the wedding day. I felt confident and relaxed going into the big day because Katie had already established connections with all of our other vendors. She maintained the most detailed and organized timeline of events. On the actual wedding day, she fielded logistics questions so I didn't have to, provided helpful tips & tricks for the perfect photo moments, seamlessly adjusted the timeline when our ceremony ran long, re-pinned my hair when the dance floor got the best of it - the list goes on and on. Impeccable attention to detail
I wish that I could hire Katie to coordinate every event that I have for the rest of my life. Out of every single wedding vendor, she was the most valuable for the money that was spent.
I often found myself pleasantly shocked at all of the little things that she took off of my hands so that I could just enjoy my day. Something as simple as asking who I was looking for while I was wandering around with an ankle bracelet in my hand, looking for my bridesmaid. She took the ankle bracelet from me and told me that she would take care of getting it to my bridesmaid so that I could continue enjoying my wedding day. It was the little things like this that truly made Katie amazing. Her attention to detail was impeccable. I swear she must have always had one eye on me to make sure that I was okay and didn't need anything.
She saved the day when the wrong color napkins were laid out. She grabbed my bridal bouquet from me and handed me the correct one to throw, just in time. She walked us through our cake cutting. She walked along the buffet with me and held my plate and carried it to my seat. She fetched us drinks. She walked our kids and their babysitter to the car when it was time for them to leave. She had my speech ready to hand to me as soon as I needed it. She decorated, tore down, cleaned up. She made things look better than I had anticipated. She made things WORK. I'm honestly wondering if she has like two extra clones of herself because I don't know one person did it all so flawlessly.

I could not have survived my wedding without Katie. If I could give her ten stars, I would. She is absolutely wonderful; going above and beyond what any other day of planner I’ve encountered does.
Katie was involved with every aspect of my wedding. She made planning a wedding from a different city easy. We had multiple FaceTime/phone calls that started months before the big day in addition to dozens of emails complete with the checklists I love.
Katie was always available and ready to make the planning process easier on me. To name a few things she went to see the venue herself so I didn’t have to make the trip from Chicago, ran my rehearsal the day before, and took things to the venue day of so I didn’t have to.
Additionally, Katie is incredibly knowledgeable. She not only brought up so many details I didn’t even think about but also provided some amazing suggestions to further personalize my wedding. Because of her my day was flawless and exactly as I pictured it. If there were any hiccups I had no idea; which I will forever appreciate.
I would hire Katie again for any event I could and highly recommend you hire her too! She truly is the best. -

What can I say - Katie Jensen was AMAZING and we could not have pulled off this wedding without her! After many venue changes due to COVID, we called in Katie 3 weeks before the final wedding. She made space for us in her busy schedule, and threw her ALL into it. She immediately became part of our team, the leader of our team, and was the person we turned to for almost every decision.
Katie has a very quick mind, a creative way about her, tremendously helpful advice and knows timelines and how weddings flow. She is detail-oriented, organized and artistic with how she arranges everything. Most importantly, she listened to what was important to us and made that her first priority!
Katie helped us throughout the entire wedding weekend including the rehearsal dinner. She was a pleasure to have during the festivities – fun, personable and interactive with the guests. She was a positive, smiling and pleasant face who was also not afraid to ask for what was needed on our behalf. Or better yet, find it herself and make it happen!

Katie was beyond incredible as our wedding planner – I HIGHLY recommend her!! I am hyper organized, detailed oriented and type A myself and was convinced I didn’t need a wedding planner. I was worried I would still want to take over. I talked to a bunch of different planners and Katie was the only one that I truly felt I could hand things off to and completely trust that she had everything covered. She was incredibly detail-oriented and had a checklist for everything. She brought up so many small details I never realized we needed to plan out that helped make our day run so smoothly.
We also had a venue that was less proactive in the planning process and during the event and Katie was on them like a hawk. From constant follow-ups for our wedding orders and contracts, to drawing out our furniture layouts, and being on top of the wait staff the day, she was amazing. Katie was running around helping the wait staff with a smile on her face of and made sure everyone had what they needed. It really helped my family and I fully relax knowing she had it all covered.
She was also amazing during the planning process. We had a quick turnaround for our wedding due to a Covid reschedule, and Katie made it happen. We still had incredibly high expectations for the day itself and didn’t want to cut any corners. Katie spent so many hours late at night on the phone with myself and my mom going through absolutely every detail. She always put us first and was at ease. She was able to simplify, crank through a long list of things quickly and also be patient and explains things slowly when we needed it. She also had an opinion when we asked her for it which was so helpful when we got overwhelmed and needed some help.
During the weekend itself, Katie was such a breath of fresh air. She was always calm and was able to just make things happen in the background. She also has such a good eye for table layouts and decorations. She fully rearranged our table layouts and it looked 100x better than the venue initially had it and added some really great details that pulled everything together. She also was able to take over when needed. She ran our rehearsal and was so helpful at keeping our large bridal party engaged, paying attention and giving everyone pointers for the big day. All of my bridesmaids on multiple occasions told me how amazing Katie was and such a great find. It was obvious she’s been doing this for years and has it all down to a science.
I am SO happy we chose to work with Katie for our wedding day and cannot recommend her enough!! She is without a doubt one of the best decisions I made for our wedding. I have no idea how I would have pulled off the weekend without her. If you’re on the fence, do it. You’ll be glad you did! 😊 -

Katie was the most AMAZING to work with!! We hired her for day of coordination but she was so involved a couple of months before the wedding making sure everything was organized, making sure all of the little details were in place and reminding me of everything - also dealing with random emails and calls from me and my mom! We initially had another full package wedding planner and had to cancel her contract - Katie was more proactive and did more in the few months before the wedding than our original full package planner did in 7 months! She went above and beyond in everything she did, had the best attitude and was so easy to talk to. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and everything went off without a hitch because Katie was there. Of all the many decisions we made in planning our wedding, our decision to hire Katie as our planner/ coordinator was the wisest one. She was indispensable throughout the whole process.
After we were engaged in November of 2019, we began to consider just what we wanted in our wedding. Most same-sex weddings we’ve attended have been very modest DIY affairs, but we are blessed enough to have very supportive families and friends, as well as the financial means, so we wanted something a little more elaborate. We started with choosing a venue, and managed to do that on our own, but as we got into the planning it was clear we had no clue what we were doing, and needed help.
After interviewing three planners, it was clear to both of us that we had a connection with Katie and she was our obvious choice. This was confirmed early on, when two weeks later she accompanied us to our food tasting at our venue, where she met Martha, the banquet manager of our venue. The two of them hit it off immediately, and Martha would later say Katie was the best planner she’s had the pleasure of working with. She helped us ask the right questions, brought details to our attention that would never have occurred to us (linen rentals?), and took a lot of the mystery out of our planning.
We were one of thousands of couples who made the difficult decision to postpone in 2020, though the circumstances of our postponement were worse than most, and had nothing to do with COVID. Two months before our original date, my father went into the hospital for colon surgery, and would end up in critical conditions and hospitalized throughout the summer due to complications from that surgery. Katie was instrumental in contacting our other vendors when we were in no condition to do so, and with her help, we got a new date of May 29, 2021, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
With that new date, things got put on hold through the rest of 2020, and after Christmas we met again with Katie to wake up our wedding plans. She put together a checklist and timetable to get things done, and made some really good referrals that led to finding our florist and photographer. We had a couple of meetings with Katie and our pastor before the big day to iron out the day-of timeline and particulars of the ceremony. Our pastor, initially reluctant to work with a planner/ coordinator, later stated that Katie was the best he’s worked with in the course of his ministry, and made his job much easier. She also did her own consultations with our florist, venue manager, baker, and DJ in the month prior to the wedding.
During the rehearsal and on our wedding day, Katie proved especially good at “herding the cats” with our wedding party and our families: no easy task considering some of my in-laws speak poor or no English. The venue was arranged and decorated perfectly down to the last detail, and everything went very smoothly. The only hitch was when my best man fell ill during dinner, and Katie got his spouse’s attention and attended to his needs with no disruption to the reception. Even at the end of the night, Katie had gathered the floral arrangements into vases to give to our guests, and return the rental items to our florist… truly above and beyond.
We enthusiastically recommend Katie. She has a warm and engaging personality and truly enjoys her work, which serves her well whether dealing with couples, vendors, staff, family, or guests. Katie’s professionalism and attention to detail were commented on by our venue’s banquet manager, our florist, our DJ, our parents, our pastor, and many of our guests. In short, she’s the best! -

Katie was such a huge help throughout my entire wedding planning process! I’m not sure how we could have gotten from an idea to an actual wedding without her. From setting up (and re-setting up when we changed our minds) to helping take everything down and stored safely, Katie was there to help and ensure the process went as planned! She had an amazing eye for detail to make sure every centerpiece looked perfect, every table cloth was sitting perfectly, every wedding party member knew what they were supposed to do, and everything looked just the way we had envisioned. We truly appreciated her giving us tips and ideas during our planning process and the day of to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible. Katie had a list of tasks and important details covering every piece of my wedding day to make sure we had thought of everything. I’m so glad she was there to think of and manage the details that I hadn’t even considered. She was willing to help and offer advice when needed as we took our time to make decisions on everything. She really made sure we were fully prepared and excited for our special day! We are so grateful to her for her help!
