Williamsburg Manor Bed and Breakfast Reviews

I can't thank Laura Reeves and the entire staff of the Williamsburg Manor enough for all they did to make our wedding so special!!!

We had a lot of trouble with our wedding planning-- our planner went AWOL, our original venue (and its associated vendors) had to close due to covid, and I was so close to just giving up... But then I saw this beautiful B&B that a friend had raved about, and when I went to visit Laura I felt so relieved. She is a PRO who knows how to plan and execute a wedding like no one else! She coordinated catering, rentals, and had the venue itself perfectly ready to go for our big day. After cancelling our "original" wedding plan I was exhausted. Laura stepped in and made everything so easy for me. She basically became my wedding planner and coordinated a LOT of our wedding-- while still offering unique touches to make our wedding special to us.

The Manor itself is exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and authentic Williamsburg style-- but still comfortable! It was so clean and perfectly kept by Stephanie. And the breakfast each morning was SO GOOD, the chef Maggie is amazing!!!!

On the day of the wedding it was dumping down rain, and before I could start to panic, Laura said "don't worry, I've done this before" and she sprang into action with a "rain plan". I didn't have to lift a finger, and the end result was a beautiful (dry!) wedding ceremony and reception.

This was definitely not the wedding I had planned or envisioned in early 2020. It was BETTER! In the end, I am so thankful that our original venue cancelled, because the Williamsburg Manor was absolutely perfect and I could not imagine celebrating anywhere else. And I am so thankful to Laura and her staff for all their help and kindness. They made our whole weekend (and our wedding) truly wonderful.

Laura and the staff at The Catering Company were excellent in all aspects of the services they provided. They were able to help us achieve and plan a reception consistent with our personalities and preferences in tastes without deviating far from our intended budget. We were exceptionally pleased with all the details and finishing touches provided by The Catering Company and would recommend their services for any occasion without hesitation.

When I was scheduling and planning my wedding, I worked directly with Laura Reeves. She was very nice and wanted to help in every way she could. At times, it was hard for me to get a response out of her because she is very busy. However, when it came down to the actual event, she did not accurately transfer all the information to the woman who was running the Manor House, so there was some miscommunication. It took one very organized bridesmaid to get everything straightened out so it ran efficiently the day of the wedding. The location was a beautiful, and it is a lovely environment to get married in!

I rented the Manor for the weekend for our 25th anniversary Vow renewal ceremony. The proprietor offers a "wedding package" that includes a photographer, chairs, the officiant, music, catering, flower bouquet and boutonniere, cake and champagne toast. There was NO CONTRACT... she showed up with a spiral notebook.
The actual venue was great. I had a small party (18), and didn't require much... however, if you need something specific, or would like to just talk to a person, good luck. The photographer had never done an event before and cut people out of pictures and took tons of pics of the FOOD. The cake came straight from food lion I swear, even tho I was told it would come from a local cake maker. The flowers were GORGEOUS. The food was good, I didn't care for the chicken. Miss Paulette, (the innkeeper/cook/ maid) was frankly AMAZING-everyone loved her!! If she hadn't of been the rating would have been much lower... the Catering staff was great, they def know what they are doing!! I think without her staff Miss Laura would not be in business. The VERYY FEW requests I made, such as trim the shrubs out front so that my father and I could FIT thru them on our "walk" was ignored. I called twice on fri. no response. The sprinklers out front went off TWICE sat morning... in the front yard... where the ceremony was.
If you are easy going and have a ton of patience and don't require any interface with the owner- this is the place for you. I read earlier reviews and did take it in stride when I didn't hear from her. I did have a tight budget and was happy with my overall experience, I just think It isn't very professional to take such a large sum of money from a customer and then ghost them.
I will not recommend Ms. Reeves bed and breakfast for this reason.
