  Fabulous Paella Wedding

  White Pepper’s catering was the HIGHLIGHT of our wedding. We had their paella dinner, which truly blew our guests away. My husbands stepmom is a professional paella chef from Spain, and even SHE was stunned by their meal. Not only was the food divine, but the service was top notch. As the Bride and Groom, White Pepper assigned one server specifically to us, making sure we had food and whatever we wanted to drink; they were very attentive. White Pepper even brought us down some champagne and appetizers from the cocktail hour, so my husband and I could have a quiet moment alone, munching, before heading out to be with everyone else. White Pepper really knows what they are doing. Wil, at White Pepper, is an absolute gem. I found him so helpful, and he truly was there for me to answer any and all questions! Wil was really responsive, professional, and just flat out kind. I would recommend their catering to pretty much everyone and anyone!

  Great catering for our wedding

  White Pepper recently catered our small, outdoor wedding, and we were very happy that we went with them. We chose White Pepper after a fantastic tasting at their Portland kitchen and event space. We initially worked with Greg, who helped put together our menu and got the ball rolling on planning what we would need for our event. After COVID-related delays, we started working with Becca, who was also very helpful and responsive for the duration, and stayed on-site for most of our event to ensure things ran smoothly.
  
  It was great to have a full-service caterer. White Pepper worked with Party Place rentals to ensure we had all the linens, tableware, glassware etc. that we needed. Even as our plans kept shifting and our guest list continued to change based on COVID developments, White Pepper was on top of it and worked with Party Place to make sure we had the right amount of everything. And White Pepper didn’t bat an eye as our event size dropped significantly and we switched from family-style service to plated service shortly before the event. We were really grateful that they were so willing to accommodate the difficult, last-minute changes we needed to make to have a safe celebration.
  
  The service was absolutely stellar. The event staff was incredibly professional and on top of everything. They were friendly and helpful, and they served food and cleared tables discretely and quickly. We were extremely happy and impressed with the service from everyone involved.
  
  We were also happy with the food, especially the cedar-smoked salmon and potatoes. All very tasty! And White Pepper served the pie we brought in from an outside bakery (Lauretta Jeans in Portland) with no issues, even though pie seems significantly harder to serve to a crowd than cake.
  
  All in all, White Pepper did a fantastic job. They were responsive, accommodating, professional, and, most importantly, helped us put on a fun, memorable wedding.

  Best Catered Food I've Ever Had

  White Pepper catered our wedding this past weekend after over a year of delay due to COVID and two years of planning together. Everything from the hors d'oeuvres to the meal itself was above and beyond expectation. The wait staff were fun and friendly, the presentation was elegant and beautiful, and the food itself was just incredible. My past experience with catered food is that it's often dry or not quite hot enough, but somehow White Pepper made everything taste like a 5-star restaurant despite catering an event with no kitchen! Best catered food I've ever had, hands down.

  Professional, Elegant and Incredibly Delicious

  Planning for our wedding, we met with several caterers and tasted their menus to get a feel for what was available. Many of which would have been perfectly fine options, but with White Pepper it was immediately clear they were a step above. We were looking for a plated dinner for our guests and wanted something with a beautiful presentation, and no other company we found came anywhere close to what White Pepper offered.
  
  White Pepper was all around very impressive, not only with the taste and presentation of the food, but provided thoughtful questions about our vision for the day and gave us excellent suggestions and feedback. One feature that drew us in right away was their ability to cook on-site. White Pepper’s mobile kitchen and grill really allowed their food to be enjoyed as intended.
  
  We met with Susanna to discuss our plans for our special day and to sample their culinary skills. We had a small wedding and opted not to go with a wedding planner, and ended up being beyond grateful to have Susanna. She was always available for whatever questions and menu alterations we wanted to make in the months leading up to the wedding, and was instrumental in helping us figure out the table layout and general flow of the day for our venue.
  
  White Pepper’s use of local ingredients gave a rustic flair to our winter wedding. It was beautifully presented, accented with edible flowers that created bright contrasts of color. White Pepper captured our vision of a bountiful charcuterie display that served as much as a decoration as a delightful hors d’oeuvres. Our guests enjoyed garlic brined Marion Acres chicken with a hazelnut sage brown butter or a cedar-smoked PNW salmon with parsley pesto. Both turned out phenomenally. Between the entrees, delicious accompaniments, and generous hors d’oeurves the food was a highlight to our special day.

  The food was beyond

  Becca at White Pepper is amazing! She took my vision of tasting centerpieces and brought it to life. I am still getting notes from our guests raving about how good the food was, I hope I can make it back there soon to experience White Pepper again. I am a foodie (SP Top 50 bucket list) and this caterer was a foodie experience with sustainable practices and an eco-friendly approach which I really appreciated!

  Great food!

  White Pepper certainly provides a gourmet experience that your wedding guests will be talking about well after your wedding. How often can you say that about “wedding food?” Overall we had a great experience and the food was delicious. We also had White Pepper staff coordinate our rentals, set up and clean up which was well worth it!

  Great food, great presentation, amazing staff!

  We had already tasted a few other caterers for our wedding before White Pepper and had not been very impressed. Then came Becca and Will, who seemed to understand exactly what we were looking for (and what our budget was). As their kitchen was under construction at the time, Will invited us into his home to sample their dishes... and they had us at charcuterie. Not only is the presentation amazing, but the flavor is too! The sides and entrees were just as outstanding (seriously, try the potatoes). Becca was attentive and helpful every step of the way. She even prepared a small charcuterie board for us to have right after the ceremony. The entire staff was great during our reception. They were friendly and very helpful. We would recommend White Pepper to anyone!

  White Pepper is the Best!

  To sum it up in one word, Amazing! From day 1, Alyssa and her team at White Pepper were easy to work with, great at getting back to us, and full of great ideas on how to make our wedding perfect. The food was incredible as well and served very quickly! Many of our guests have told us that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. They, White Pepper, clearly know what they are doing and we are so glad that we chose them to cater our wedding!

  I lost count at the number of people who raved about the food at our wedding. This was no surprise to us after spending an evening at Will’s house trying out his drool-worthy food. Alyssa was so consistently sweet and helpful throughout the planning process. Thanks for everything, guys!

  We were SO thrilled with the choice of White Pepper for our caterer for our wedding. First of all, the food was absolutely amazing. Numerous guests told us, unprompted, that it was the best meal they'd ever had at a wedding. The salmon in particular was a huge hit. They also went above and beyond by creating a vegan grilled cheese late night snack for us to help us accommodate the dietary restrictions of our guests that was absurdly delicious. Secondly, the food was beautifully presented, and it really made our family style service seem like the height of fine dining. Moreover, they were incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. Alyssa in particular took the time to make sure my vision came to life. We just can't recommend them highly enough.

  Best catered wedding food we have ever had!!
  Planning a destination wedding/wedding adventure can be difficult and stressful. One of the hardest parts is choosing vendors, specifically food and beverage catering services. If you are planning a wedding or any other event in the Portland/Columbia River Gorge and want amazing food and service, choose White Pepper. My wife and I had a small destination wedding (25 people) and rented a beautiful farm home in Washougal which could have not been a more perfect location. …. And… were extremely accommodating super helpful. Upon arrival at the farm house after the offsite ceremony, our guests where warmly greeted with a wonderful Charcuterie Board completed with locally procured cheeses, and fruits. While the cocktail hour took place The White Pepper Staff prepped and cooked (onsite) an amazing meal of locally harvested salmon and a delightful pork dish paired with a fresh spring salad, roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus…Delicious. The staff was professional, courteous, prompt, and genuine. The food was outstanding and by far the best catered food at a wedding we have ever had, and it was our wedding. You can’t go wrong with choosing White Pepper.

  We can't say enough great things about Wil, Amy and the team at White Pepper that made our day so incredibly perfect! They were professional, accommodating and went above and beyond. Before we landed on White Pepper, Wil invited us to his home for a private menu tasting and by the end we were so blown away with the flavors and presentation that we cancelled our other tasting appointments and booked them then and there.
  Amy was responsive, flexible and super friendly - even though we were very picky (especially with our 4 craft cocktail recipes) and asked a million questions. They brought their chef on-site to cook everything fresh. The presentation was outstanding: custom chalkboard signs with art that tied into our theme, mix-n-match rustic serving bowls and plates. All of our guests loved the charcuterie and drinks during cocktail hour, they raved about the salmon, brisket and polenta and the late night chicken and waffle skewers were a huge hit!
  At the end of our event, they had carefully packaged our leftovers and sent us home with delicious reminders of our wedding that kept us full for the next few days.

They worked with us every step of the way throughout the planning process, and served some seriously delicious food! White Pepper goes above and beyond - They were willing to fold the napkins a certain way to help with thank you card placement (we had a windy venue and were worried about thank you cards blowing away). They also set aside personal to-go boxes for the two of us, in case we didn't have the chance to eat during our event (which was greatly appreciated). White Pepper even provided a beautifully done chalkboard menu - It meant so much to us to have a vendor that not only served up awesome food, but cared about the aesthetics of their displays as well. We searched extensively for a caterer, and are so thankful that we went with White Pepper - One of the best decisions we could've made!

  White Pepper is the absolute best catering company in Portland. We searched high and wide for the perfect company to entrust with doing the food & drinks for our wedding (since food was one of the most important elements of our wedding) and could not have found a more perfect company!
  
  Wil and his assistant Marse' are so thoughtful, sweet, and just all around great people and incredibly easy to work with. They helped with every detail, providing advice on even how much alcohol to order (we had them prepare the drinks but bought the alcohol) and worked perfectly with our other vendors, which was so important. They even coordinated with Random Order to get our pies and safely transported them to our venue. They also source from the best, local suppliers in the pacific nw (i.e. olympia provisions for the charcuterie) so you know you're getting the highest quality food.
  
  Wil even invited us over for a tasting and we were just blown away by how delicious and artfully prepared everything was. My only regret was not carving out enough time to eat and enjoy the feast they prepared since we were so busy interacting with the guests.
  
  The day of the wedding, the guests raved to us about how unique and tasty the signature drinks were. Every detail, from the chalkboards to the charcuterie arrangement and the food itself, which perfectly encapsulated the pacific northwest, was so well-executed thoughtfully prepared. Finally, they are extremely affordable for what they provide (we did our research) and we're honestly surprised they don't charge more (as their food rivals caterers 2x the price)
  
  At the end of the night, they brought out chicken & waffle skewers that were a HUGE hit with the guests - the scene of our friends descending upon the staff was akin to when a rare Pokemon is spotted and everyone rushes over. It was the perfect ending to a culinary journey of a wedding. We cannot say enough good things about them and recommend wholeheartedly - thank you!!!

  Professional team of chefs and servers, and food that every guest commented about. They are farm to table with the freshest ingredients. With about 100 guests, they served family style, which added to the comfortable feel of fun and family we were hoping for. Highly recommended by all.

We selected White Pepper after being blown away not only by Wil's sophisticated, beautiful, and delicious food, but also by both Wil and Amy's knowledgeability, flexibility, and approachability. Leading up to the wedding, both Amy and Wil were very responsive to our questions and concerns, promptly answering our questions and providing helpful, insightful input from their collective wisdom and experience. The professionalism and responsiveness of White Pepper made our wedding easier to plan, and instilled confidence in us that we could pull it off! They made selecting rentals a breeze, and coordinated pick-up and drop-off for us, saving us beaucoup time and money. On the day of the wedding, Amy and the entire staff "hit the ground running," and managed to make the complicated task of perfectly setting the food, bar, tables, and decor look simple and graceful. They were wonderfully flexible and accommodating about our self-provided alcohol, creating a kick-ass bar (complete with beautiful chalkboard signage) in moments. They even saved the day when the groom forgot the bitters for his cocktail! We also self-provided desserts, which White Pepper graciously assumed responsibility for and displayed with their customary flair. White Pepper played an enormous role in facilitating the lovely, whimsical, and memorable wedding we wanted to present. We received dozens of compliments about the food and staff, but perhaps the most telling compliment is how much food there was left over from our feast...nothing! We could not imagine our wedding without White Pepper, and are so grateful for and impressed by every aspect of our experience with this wonderful caterer.

Not only did they provide amazing food that was beautifully presented to our guests, they also went the extra mile and made special mac and cheese meals for the kiddos, picked up all the rentals (glassware, linens, etc.), and then drove across the planet to get a missing linen when the rental place forgot to include it. They had great recommendations (we ended up using a florist they recommended who was also amazing), were extremely prompt in answering emails and responding to questions, and provide a fantastic value for all you get with them compared to some other options. Thanks guys! We had a wonderful day!

And the food! WOW! We head guest after guest saying how delicious everything was. Special mentions about the Cedar Plank Salmon, Carved Beef, and the homemade Mac n' Cheese were made by all. Even after a month's time, we're still hearing about it! The presentation was perfect, staff attentive and helpful, and they all went above and beyond to make sure our day was amazing and stress free. One of the things that really made our day special was that they helped us set up our family and friend dessert table. They cut desserts as needed, and arranged everything beautifully. White Pepper exceeded our expectations and made everyone say YUM! We had a delish BBQ style buffet with pulled pork, salad, corn on the cob and all the fixins'. The flavors were great, the food was fresh and the display was photo-ready, complete with a stylish chalkboard menu. Their website, custom quote and contract were easy to deal with, and we would love to hire them again for our next event!

I was very nervous at first; due to planning from out-of-state and our untraditional cocktail party wedding format, we weren't able to do a tasting before the wedding. But Wil smoothed over my fears by putting me in contact with a co-vendor as well as a previous client in order to provide a more in-depth review. Super helpful and swayed me towards White Pepper! Wil was wonderful and flexible, answering all of my crazy questions and worries before the big day. And the food? I think it's safe to say it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding and I'm SO GLAD I was able to taste it! My aunt won't stop talking about the pate, and they arrange it so beautifully. There was more than enough food (we even had leftovers) and I loved the varied nature of the foods we chose.
