The best $$ spent on my wedding

Hiring Joann was one of the best decisions I made planning my wedding. I hired Joann for my day of coordinator on a recommendation from another vendor. I had planned about 90% of my wedding and thought wow that wasn’t so hard. But trust me the last 10% is the hardest part!!! Having Joann for the last steps of the way helped out so much!!
Having Joann the day of my wedding was the best thing I did. Because guess what happens when something happens and you don’t have Joann they come to the bride. I was able to relax, enjoy and most importantly not stress. Joann took care of everything big or small.
I know weddings cost a lot of money and some people think that a day of coordinator isn’t necessary but trust me if you want to enjoy all the money that spend invest in a day of coordinator and their is no one better than Joann.
Thank you Joann for everything!!! You are amazing and I am forever grateful for you!!

I don’t know what I would have done without JoAnn

There aren’t words to describe my experience working with JoAnn. From the day we met it was an instant connection. JoAnn wasn’t just interested in helping plan our wedding, she was genuinely interested in us. I never felt like “just another couple”, I always felt as if my wedding was the most important thing she was doing. JoAnn planned both my bridal shower and my wedding and both were absolutely flawless. JoAnn walked me though everything, attended all vendor meetings with us, gave recommendations of people who we now consider family. She is so knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the business and all the right people to call. JoAnn answered every phone call, and on the rare times she couldn’t- she replied immediately with a text saying when she would be able to talk. Id call JoAnn for everything- and it didn’t always have to do with the wedding. She became my therapist for a year and a half without ever once making me feel like my phone calls weren’t welcome. They became a nightly occurrence I look forward to continuing.
Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how perfect our wedding was, and I might be biased but I’ve never been to one more beautiful. JoAnn laid out a detailed itinerary and made sure the timeline was kept to the entire day, without ever making us feel rushed. I could probably write a book describing my wonderful experience with JoAnn, but I’ll end with she will never be just a wedding planner to our family but forever my second mom to me. ❤️

This review is long overdue. We were very happy with JoAnn and her staff. We met with her several times leading up to our wedding. She delivered on our vision for our special day and even helped my husband with a special surprise for me during our ceremony. There were a couple of misses but nothing we let ruin our day. We didn’t even discuss this with JoAnn. Overall very satisfied and were happy with our decision to hire JoAnn. Thanks for making our day special!

I can't even begin to explain how absolutely seamless my wedding day was!!! It was everything i could have imagined and more. From the moment I contacted them, Joann made me feel like I was a princess!!! She was there for me ANY time of day, night, and with ANY questions I had. Her and her staff coordinated everything so smoothly, I didn't have a doubt in my mind the entire time. She referred me to different vendors and gave me her opinions, but allowed me to make my own decisions, along with her expertise and recommendations. I was blessed to have found such wonderful people to work with, who executed my wedding day better then I could have ever imagined. I also planned part of this from long distance as I am in the military, so having Joann's organization and skills was exactly what I needed!!! I HIGHLY recommend using What Dreams are Made of, I don't regret it one bit!!! JOANN and her team will treat you RIGHT!!! :)

JoAnn was very helpful with planning my wedding. I'm from New York and in the middle of the wedding planning process we moved to Pittsburgh. It was invaluable to have JoAnn in Upstate new york where we planned the wedding. She help us find wonderful vendors who worked with my vision collaboratively. She sourced all the little things I wanted for my wedding like pumpkins for carving the day before and AMAZING jam for my guests wedding presents. When our Venue was giving us problems with the contract she worked with them to sort out all the issues and kept me from having to stress about it. She kept us from having to pay for alcohol for an extra 50 guests who RSVPed no.

On the day of the Wedding (and the day before) she worked for hours with her team setting everything up just right. I had a very specific vision with lots and she and CherryBrandy Designs executed it perfectly. Including incorporating 80 gold candle sticks my mother had bought into the centerpieces, and dealign with a Skid of glass I had delivered to her house. She helped us make some unplanned events happen (like when my mother in-law decided after my father daughter dance that she also wanted a mother son dance).

It's been a week since the wedding and everyone who went has been telling me what a magical wedding it was. I couldn't have done it without JoAnn.

I don't know what to say about Joanne and Karin. My Wedding day was absolutely perfect and I owe much of that to them. I'm sure that there were some small, maybe even large snafus that went on behind the scenes but the fact that neither I, nor my new husband knew a thing about them is a huge testament to how professional Joanne and her team were. We met about 3 times prior to the wedding to be sure that I was staying on track with my planning and Joanne recommended some amazing vendors that I ended up working with. She took care of all of the rentals and pretty much all contact with vendors a few weeks prior to the wedding. The thing that really made having event coordinators worth while was the morning after our wedding. When I went back out to the barn the next morning everything was pack up and sorted and put away and we had barely any packing up to do--an absolute god send! Karin was just there for everything I needed during the reception and I cannot thank her enough for that. If you are considering getting a wedding coordinator, you cannot go wrong with Joanne. She is worth her weight in gold!

JoAnn and her team were absolutely amazing all throughout the planning process and the day of my wedding. Within days of finding JoAnn, she found us an amazing wedding photographer with whom she was also able to arrange an engagement shoot for us on very short notice, a rabbi, and an impeccable caterer, while keeping our budget and style in mind. JoAnn always made herself available and did a wonderful job assuring me and my now husband from afar (we live in TX), and more importantly, my mom, of all the details, and that everything would work out perfectly. And it certainly did, thanks to her knowledge and top-notch management approach. In addition to being a stellar wedding planner, JoAnn is a genuine, kind person who wants the best for everyone and I'm proud to say that she's become a good friend of mine and my mom's. I highly recommend JoAnn to those looking to plan a wedding or any type of party, as you will not be disappointed; JoAnn's a blast to work with!

Joann was amazing, she planned, organized and choreographed my daughters wedding beyond my wildest dreams! Her connections with caters, rentals, and vendors was fantastic! Joann made a very stressful time wonderful. The wedding was not only exceptional for my daughter and me, but for all our guests. So many of our guests complemented Joann personally, and made a point of telling me how impressed they were with her skills! She is not only a brilliant organizer, and planner, but warm, lovable and has become a dear friend! You will not be disappointment!

JoAnn and WDAMO are the BEST!! We live in NC and our wedding was in NY. We knew what venue we wanted but had no idea how to book vendors since we couldn't meet with any in person. JoAnn hooked us up and got us amazing deals with all of the best vendors. She made herself available 24/7 and allowed us to reach her any way WE wanted - call, text, email, whatever. You can definitely tell how long she's been in the industry - she is extremely knowledgeable on all things wedding related. Any question we had, she answered. She took out a lot of the stress we would have felt from having a destination wedding.

On the day of our wedding, we forgot to give JoAnn our final payment for the ceremony musicians, but didn't realize it until after the ceremony when we were doing our receiving line. JoAnn took care of our balance herself and we squared up with her the next day.

Lastly - and this is the most important - my Grandmother did not feel well enough to come to the wedding, but only lives 5 minutes from our venue. JoAnn's assistant Lauren drove us and one of the photographers to my Grandmother's house before the reception started so my Gram could see me in my dress. That was one of the most special moments of our day, and it would not have happened if it weren't for What Dreams Are Made Of.

Every step of the way, JoAnn let me know if we were on track with planning and assured me that everything was going smoothly. We jumped on a phone call every 2 weeks for the last two months. If there were any other hiccups, we weren't aware of them because she and her assistant had everything under control! JoAnn is seriously the best planner we ever could have hired. You get an insane amount of quality work for a really reasonable price (she was the least expensive of the 5 planners we interviewed before hiring her). We would HIGHLY recommend What Dreams Are Made Of!!

It is so hard to put everything I want to say about JoAnn and "WDaMO" in one review but I will do my best. JoAnn was there for me in a very exciting, but also challenging and stressful part of my life. The wedding was not the only thing on my mind - I had 2 family members pass away during our engagement and experienced a lot of anxiety with work. As a dual-military couple, my fiance` and I struggled against several deployment initiatives that got very close to postponing our wedding. Through all of this, JoAnn was not only a source of constant comfort and assurance on all wedding matters - she also became a very dear friend who consoled me in the loss of my family members and reassured me that everything would work out fine. Knowing the situation Charlie and I were in because of our military service, JoAnn paid special attention to choose flexible vendors who would honor our situation if a deployment caused our date to change. JoAnn was so easy to contact and so great about getting back to me quickly anytime I sent an email, text, or called. She never turns work off - she would call me at night on a weekend after I sent a text to make sure I didn't need anything else and she would always go to bat for me when potential vendors offered a price or contract she didn't think was fair. She also knows all the vendors in the area and only recommends the best - I took her suggestion for EVERY single vendor at my wedding (DJ, photographer, transportation etc.) and they were ALL perfect! I trust her taste and judgement more than my own! Although she NEVER advertised it, I know that JoAnn did a lot of extra work for me and Charlie at no additional cost because of her compassion for our situation and her genuine desire to make us happy and give us a phenomenal wedding. We are not local, and could NOT have done this without her. JoAnn is a special planner AND person and I am so excited to stay in touch, even after the wedding, because she is also an AMAZING friend :)

Joanne was so very over the top calm, clearheaded, and very knowledgeable about all the areas of a wedding that we did not think of. I hired JoAnn and her team in March of 2015 with the plan to have a wedding in 7 months. I was super nervous that it wouldnt be enough time to accomplish everything in time. All of my fears were quickly swept aside the minute JoAnn took over. She had me a DJ, photographer, videographer, venue and florist, within a few weeks! And not only was she able to book these vendors quickly and efficiently, but she booked me the best of the best within my budget. She really got to know me and the groom on a personal level and was able to know exactly what we wanted our day to look and feel like. She made sure that everything was getting done on time and when it came to the day of, my day was carefree and stressless! She handled everything with ease and confidence! Having JoAnn be our wedding planner was the best decision I have ever made!

JoAnn was an absolute pleasure to work with! We hired her about 3 months into our wedding planning, once we had already secured a location and date and were in the madness of finding the rest of our vendors. We went for the full planning package, which was wonderful because she really did help from start to finish and even beyond the day of the wedding. As a Type A personality bride, JoAnn served as a project manager for the wedding and was willing to work on any and everything - allowing me to focus on the fun elements of the planning. We were an out of state couple planning a multicultural wedding, having JoAnn's expertise and professional network at our disposal was a big help and made it easy to finalize decisions. Her team is equally dedicated, experienced, and more than willing to go above and beyond to make their client happy. Through the 9 months of working with JoAnn and her team, I never felt like my wedding wasn't a priority or that she had a personal interest in what's best for us as a couple. My family and I are so happy that we chose JoAnn and will continue our friendship with her past the wedding!

Found Joanne through Wedding wire and the Knot. She was highly recommended on these sites which prompted us to call. After interviewing 7 planners, we picked Joanne. She took our calls late at nite and always returned calls. She is very accommodating. We are out of state clients which is why we chose a planner and we made the right choice. You can't go wrong with this company as she truly made our travel themed wedding come to life.

We had a tricky family situation (both my and my now husband's parents are divorced) and JoAnn did an amazing job helping us navigate all of the intricacies of the wedding planning process. Planning a wedding is overwhelming. I quickly realized that there was no way I'd be able to handle my day of coordination myself. I needed professional help to pull of an event that involved 3 different locations (hotel, church & reception venues) and transportation! I was looking for someone to give me peace of mind that all the little details would be taken care of. That's where JoAnn and her team came in. From our initial conversations, I felt at ease that JoAnn and her team. She was very flexible - even willing to have planning conversations at 10pm since my schedule was so hectic. She visited my florist and did a walk through of our reception site a few weeks before our wedding and helped me plan a day of schedule to keep everyone on time. On the day of our wedding, while I was getting hair and makeup done, she made sure to keep me updated via text and pictures so I knew that everything at my reception venue would be perfect when guests arrived. When guests were still entering our church when I arrived, she made sure everyone was seated before I entered. When I accidentally left a check for our band at my hotel, one of her team members drove the 45 minute round trip to collect it, instead of a family member. There's really no price for that kind of peace of mind. Thank you JoAnn for making our day go so smoothly!

JoAnn was an incredible & invaluable person to have on our team of vendors for our May 31, 2014 wedding. Up front, please know that I did not directly hire her wedding planning services through "What Dreams Are Made Of...". I had booked a wedding chapel (that is sadly no longer open for business) that was using JoAnn as their chapel coordinator. The Chapel package & contract included JoAnn's services for coordination with vendors and some wedding planning. While the contract indicated that she would provide a certain amount of services, she went above & beyond what was set out in the contract.

Dan & I were ahead of the game, as we had already decided on the venue. JoAnn gave us suggestions for caterers, rentals, rehearsal dinner, DJ, and flowers. We had plenty of discussions & she was available to answer my questions by telephone, E-mail & in person. I loved our meetings over coffee/tea. She gave suggestions, listened to me gripe about various issues/friends/relatives (then she helped me chill out), gave ideas for setup and decoration and let me know if she thought someone was charging me a fair price. If I had forgotten to pick up an item of decoration, she'd go and pick it up for me! When the rental Chupah was delivered and not up to par, she set out (on the day of the wedding no less) and acquired another one. She made sure the entire day ran smoothly and Heidi was great, too.

I am an independent person, so I was seeking JoAnn's advice/assistance, but I made all the choices. However, if you're a person that wants someone to make the decisions for you and plan it all out and execute it (i.e., if you are an out of town bride), I know she's done that. I was local and am very hands on and a bit of a perfectionist. JoAnn and I worked together wonderfully. She got a great read on me and my fiancé and helped me make a plan accordingly. She helped me flesh out my vision for my dream wedding and then she made it come true. Thank you, JoAnn & Heidi.

I hired JoAnn & Heidi 3 years ago to help plan my wedding. It was the best 3 years leading up to my wedding. Anything I wanted they executed. I gave them all my ideas and they made it happen. We definitely builded a great relationship. JoAnn was always there for me with good advice and as someone to talk to when I was stressed. They are both very personable, professional, have many great ideas, and suggestions. JoAnn and her employees made our wedding day everything and more. I wish we could do it all over again. I found What Dreams are made of through a friend who had used them to plan her wedding. I mainly needed help because I was too busy with work, school, and honestly wanted no part in planning a wedding. JoAnn was wonderful from the beginning. She helped me select a site, found the caterer, flowers, did the decor, organized getting the booze, rentals...just everything! It could not have been any easier! She was there for me 24/7 via text and email and was a great consultant, friend, and planner! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

JoAnn and her team did a very nice job with my wedding. There were 10+ outside vendors to be managed and the wedding was a backyard wedding, so there was a lot of work involved in organizing and planning everything. Even though we only hired JoAnn for "month of" planning, she was very helpful outside of that month- even 6 months before our wedding- with vendor suggestions and planning tips and always got back to us very quickly. We did not live in the area where we got married so it was incredibly helpful to have JoAnn who seemed to know each of the vendors very well help us pick what would be best for what we wanted.
Because of the nature of our wedding there were a couple of hiccups in the days leading up with a couple of vendors but JoAnn handled it well and most importantly, everything ran smoothly on the day of our wedding and I know she must have played a big part in that. I was too busy enjoying myself to pay much attention to if everything was running smoothly or not- which probably means JoAnn was doing her job very well! I got many compliments with how nice our wedding was and how smoothly it all seemed to go.
Overall we were very happy with how our wedding turned out and we would recommend JoAnn to anyone who needs a wedding planner in the Sullivan County area!

What Dreams are Made of was the most pleasant experiences of my wedding planning. I first contacted JoAnn after finding out about her on this website, I am so happy I trusted this website to find What Dreams are Made of. JoAnn had come to me in one of the most difficult times times of my life. Although I was thrilled to be engaged and ready to start a new chapter in my life, my mother had just passed away. I was lost and saddened that she would not be here to help me prepare for my special day. JoAnn assisted me through my grieving process by putting the excitement back into my life with her wedding planning expertise. She went above and beyond my expectations by being along side with my when I tried on my first wedding dress to holding the back of my train before I took my walk down the isle. She was knowledgeable about wedding venues (which she came with me to view), vendors, flowers, budgeting, designs, and even memorial ideas in honor of my mother. The time and passion she puts into her work is incredible. I would recommend her for small weddings to large grand events. There is nothing that What Dreams are Made of did not make possible for my beautiful wedding day. It was what I had always imagined, and all for a very fair price. To anyone contemplating What Dreams are Made of my advice would be to trust the wonderful reviews and go for it! Not only did I receive phenomenal service I made a friend for life.

We hired JoAnn and company as day-of event coordinators after we had to part ways with our previous wedding planner. The difference in service between our previous planner and What Dreams was remarkable. In addition to handling everything we asked for, they were proactive in addressing problems before they happened, and adding service we had not thought of. One example: JoAnn called our bus company to make sure the buses we rented had air conditioning, even though we hadn't thought to include that. They also had existing relationships with most of the other vendors we were using, so that made things go very smoothly.

JoAnn provided week-of coordination for our wedding and I could not have been more pleased. Her responsiveness was perfect - responded to emails and phone calls within, at most, 1 hour and usually within minutes. I was unsure of how to handle certain situations, but JoAnn had the knowledge and assertiveness to get things done quickly and efficiently. Her rapport on the day of our wedding was just perfect. She was there when needed but did not interfere with the flow of the wedding. My hair stylist canceled the day before the wedding and she worked diligently to help us find a replacement. Most of all, she eliminated any stress the week before our wedding and allowed us to spend much needed time with our families who we don't get to see very often (we live in Maryland and our parents live in NY and AZ). I would absolutely recommend JoAnn and What Dreams Are Made Of without hesitation.

JoAnn Is an excellent source for information, resources and overall help. I cannot rave about her communication with me and my husband enough. She took care of things that we had no idea to even think of and addressed hiccups likes champion! It may sound like hyperbole but I wish we could use Joann's help going forward too but I will have to settle for recommending her highly to anyone getting married in the Hudson Valley.

My wife and I we're married last weekend. Like most weddings, this took months of planning: we had the perfect setting for the ceremony, another gorgeous setting for the rehearsal, the flowers, the invites, even color coordinated drink stirrers...

As independent New Yorkers, we thought we could do everything ourselves. As I mentioned, we already planned every detail, even those color coordinated drink stirrers. No need for a wedding planner, right? But, then reality struck. Even after looking over every detail dozens of times, there were still things we missed—the details within the details.

JoAnn was recommended to us and we arranged to meet her for dinner. Before our plates arrived, we could already tell that she was going to be a huge help. Those details we were concerned about. JoAnn solved those before we ordered. The details we never thought about. JoAnn took care of those before appetizers. For desert, she recommended the blueberry pie. “Trust me” she said. And, we did.

While the pie was delightful, JoAnn was absolutely AMAZING. We’ve never, been able to call someone with the ability to answer every question we had. Not only that; but, every question was answered with a simple phone call or email. More importantly, JoAnn took care of many details before we even had time to worry about them.

She made our special day calm, easy and delightful. In short, she was one of the best choices we have made as a couple. If your looking for a wedding planner, start your search by making a dinner reservation with JoAnn.

Joann provided advise and support for all aspects of my daughters wedding. She went above and beyond what was expected of her. She was available to us whenever we needed her. Her positive outlook reassured us throughout the planning and made the wedding day relaxed for my daughter and son-in-law.

JoAnn and her staff stepped in the week before my wedding and saved our special day from an incredibly unprofessional planner who left us high and dry. She was sympathetic, yet focused and determined to give us our day the way we had envisioned. She and her team met with many obstacles, including procuring a tent and all the rentals, and dealing with vendors who were close friends of the former planner. She never passed these stresses onto myself or my husband, and at the end of the day, JoAnn and her team saved our wedding. We cannot express our gratitude enough, and I only wish we had hired her sooner.

JoAnn did a fantastic job coordinating our wedding. We got married at a private residence on a hillside, which required bringing in ALL vendors and services that you would normally get at a banquet hall. Her knowledge of the area's best and most reliable vendors, as well as her willingness to work with new ones, made it all possible. She handled all of the relationships for us - we just had to explain what we were looking for. JoAnn always fought for our interests whenever necessary; she also provided a good sounding board for decisions. She has very good taste as well. We would highly recommend JoAnn to anyone!

We were so glad that we decided to use What Dreams Are Made Of for our wedding planner. From the moment we met Joann we knew that she was the right planner for us. She was caring, helpful, and so much fun. She made planning our wedding delightful. I often felt like she was a family member! Our wedding was wonderful. We were concerned about staying on budget and with her help and vendor discounts, we actually stayed way under budget. we definately made the right choice.

When Tom and I decided to get married in the Hudson Valley, we were so unsure of who to turn to for help. A colleague of mine who had used her a few years ago had recommended JoAnn to us so I gave her a call. I felt so comfortable with her from the very first phone call. She was calming to speak to. She assured me that my wedding day would be spectacular without any added stress. She was right! She handled all of the planning and made our day a day to remember. My guests are still calling me to say how beautiful everything was. We had a dream and JoAnn and her staff made it happen! I would highly recommend her to any bride, especially if you are doing a tent wedding. There were so many details and we didn't have to deal with any of them. Her fee was well worth it, as she hooked us up with vendors that gave us such great deals that we ended up saving more than what her fee was. Her staff, Farrah, Heather, Tiffany and Amy were so professional and sweet. Our day was perfect thanks to all of them.

Joann far exceeded my expectations as a wedding planner. Day or night if I needed her she was always a a phone call away:) Our wedding day was beautiful and every detail went unnoticed. My family and friends can't stop talking about how beautiful our wedding was. Because of Joann my wedding day went flawless. She had me close my eyes and brought me and my husband into the reception before my guests got to see it and we were blown away:) My wedding was gorgeous because of her and her expertise. We had gorgeous lighting, beautiful tall candelabras, beautiful tall center pieces, gorgeous linens, and the list goes on. She definitely helped us stay on budget and save money:)She made our candy bar gorgeous and our centerpieces were to die for:) Joann was great and we definitely recommend her services:) It really was a pleasure working with Joann:)

JoAnn was a Godsend throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. She was amazing! We were planning our Rockland County wedding while living in Virginia, and JoAnn was able to recommend great vendors, and helped us negotiate contracts and prices that worked with our budget. The week of the wedding, JoAnn worked miracles. A water main blew out our guests' hotel, my husband's grandfather was sick, our priest was in the hospital... all things that could have made our big day collapse before our eyes. She handled it ALL, even calling all of our out of town guests two days before the wedding having gotten them new hotel reservations and then rearranging our shuttle to the reception for the new hotel so they wouldn't have to drive. Absolutely amazing. I cannot imagine doing it without her, and of all the vendors and services on the wedding day, she gets my (and my husband's) highest recommendation!!

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Jo Ann and her staff to plan our wedding. We had to cut back on our budget and just when I thought that we may need to either cancel or postpone the wedding, Jo Ann came up with some really great ideas to save money. She also hooked us up with some great vendors that were willing to offer us some really nice discounts. We really didn't have to sacrifice much. Her assistant, Farrah did our centerpieces and that saved us a ton of money. And they were just beautiful. They were exactly what we had wanted. We saved a lot on menu cards, ceremony programs and escort cards because she helped us out by printing them for us. The few extras that we were forced to give up weren't even noticed by our guests. Everyone had a great time. Thank you Jo Ann for helping us to have the wedding that we had always dreamed of!

I could not have been happier choosing JoAnn to help me deal and handle the stress of planning a wedding. Every single detail was perfect, and she made sure of it. She knows how to get the best prices and negotiate with other vendors; her professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail helped me have the wedding of my dreams without going over my budget. Anything I needed, she was right there to assist me. Even when I forgot my makeup bag at my house, she went and got it for me. I didn't have to worry about anything, it was wonderful! We just got married on July 15th, 2017 at the Falkirk. We could not have done this without JoAnn and the team at What Dreams Are Made Of. They really make you feel like family. We moved from NY to Las Vegas so we ended up planning the wedding from 2,500 miles away and JoAnn was there every step of the way. She coordinated with vendors, the venue, etc. and made sure we had as little stress as possible. She had great suggestions for the rehearsal dinner as well as great recommendations for other vendors. They truly go out of their way. On our wedding night we had a shuttle bus back to the hotel and the bus mistakenly left us because I was still in the venue getting gifts, etc. to bring back to the car. JoAnn and her assistant drove us back to our hotel to make sure we got there safe! She had every detail down for everything that needed to be done from beginning to end and if something went wrong it certainly went unnoticed because she took care of it. I'm still getting compliments about our day and JoAnn and her team played a significant role in how everything turned out. I highly recommend her as your wedding planner.

Leading up to our big day, JoAnn and her team were absolutely amazing to work with. JoAnn answered every email, question, and request promptly and efficiently. She also did everything in her power to keep the costs within our budget while still achieving everything we envisioned - her strong relationships with other local vendors helped us score an affordable and excellent DJ. Additionally, she made herself totally available to us the week of our event, which really helped us feel at ease about the wedding day. Most importantly, she took all of our various ideas for the reception, guestbook and place cards and completely nailed the set up. The room was exactly how I imagined it to be - absolutely perfect. We didn't have to worry about a thing. JoAnn is wonderful!

I would never hire anyone else but JoAnn to coordinate my wedding, simply put, she is the best!....her company's name says it best. One of the best decisions I made was hiring JoAnn and it is totally worth spending the money to have a Day of Coordinator. I know that she was a big part of things going well at the venue (and if there was anything wrong, I never heard about it because of her). Her staff helped set up our room perfectly. They made sure all of our many items were packed up and put in my parents' care. She was more than just a day of coordinator-she helped us so much in advance, especially with resolving some issues we had with our reception venue and communicating with them. She was just such a reassuring presence throughout the day and in advance and I felt very confident because I knew JoAnn would be taking care of everything. She also got along with my parents extremely well and just felt like extended family. The only negative I can say is that I wish JoAnn and her staff had exerted themselves a bit more during our receiving line and pushed guests to move through it. We hadn't talked about this in advance, so I hadn't told her to and I'm sure she didn't want to get too bossy with guests or our wedding party, but I would have liked it. The slowness of the line was really the only thing that "went wrong" at our wedding so that's not much of a negative anyway. JoAnn is also extremely reasonably priced. You won’t go wrong with her. I highly recommend her and her staff.

JoAnn and her team were very professional and were very helpful during wedding planning . She recommended some fantastic vendors and even offered to drive me to my hair and makeup trials (I'm from out of town and don't drive). She was also very responsive to my text messages and emails. The day of the wedding I didn't have to worry about logistics at all and everything went smoothly.

I could not be more grateful to Joann & her assistant Crystal & am SO glad we hired them! I’m a type-A hyper-organized bride (with a career background in events). Starting about two months before the wedding, I cc’ed Joann on all wedding-related emails, sent her copies of our vendor contracts, & debriefed with her about all things wedding related. Two weeks prior to our wedding, she & Crystal came all the way from Kingston to New Rochelle to meet me & my now-husband at our venue to go through the entire day, down to the minute. She helped ease my anxiety & assured me we would stay on time (my biggest concern!). On the day-of, Joann greeted me when I arrived & made sure I was set up in the Bridal Suite. My bridal attendant from the venue was not helpful & disappeared completely after the start of the cocktail hour. Joann & Crystal set everything up with the venue, made sure things were moved from space to space, & helped us stay on time. Prior to the wedding, I had emailed Joann about getting an armchair from the venue for the Hora. She said she took care of it. I later brought this up to our venue coordinator, who said he hadn’t heard from Joann & that the only armchairs they had were too heavy for lifting. I was annoyed, but ignored it. On the day of the wedding, a light armchair magically appeared during the hora! I’m not sure if Joann brought one from home or if something else happened, but I was so impressed. One thing that could have been improved is that we missed out on a lot of crucial pictures because Joann & our photographer left the group organizing to me, even though I didn’t have the shot list on hand. We missed out on several shots and if Joann had been there organizing and calling out names, we may not have. That being said, if that's the only blip in the day... I'll take it. The wedding itself was flawless and if there were any problems I never knew about them - a sign that Joann and her team did their jobs! perfectly! Would hire her again!

JoAnn and her staff made our wedding venue look beautiful. They also made a beautiful bridal bouquet, which received many compliments, and found a bus service to transport guests that was very affordable compared to estimates we had received from bus companies. Great job.

JoAnn helped us plan a beautiful outdoor wedding - the first of its kind at our selected venue. Since we live in Europe we required a lot of support during the whole planning process of almost two years. On the two occasions we were in the US before the wedding, she made time to meet us several times (also on short notice) and travelled long distances to accommodate each and every one of our wishes. JoAnn was always there for us from the selection of the venue, to finding hair & make-up artists/DJs/photographers/rentals/bakers/..., up to the big day where she and her team made sure everything was set up on time and ran smoothly.
We can wholeheartedly recommend What Dreams Are Make Of to every bride- and groom-to-be even (or especially) if you're not after a cookie-cutter wedding but envision something more unique and thus planning-intensive. JoAnn will have your back from beginning to end.

Joann Provenzano’s calming demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to bring our ideas to life all contributed to an absolutely gorgeous day that we will cherish forever. Great for big picture not for small details.

We hired Joann as a partial coordinator if that's the word for it. More than day of, less than full package.
Pros:
JoAnn had great recommendations of vendors
She was easy to contact when I needed her by text or email.
She has a very confident aura which is great when you are nervous.
I also really appreciate her eye for flowers

Cons: I year later I still wince at a lot of small details that were missed. My groomsmen put the flowers on the arch (which was not the arch we had discussed, they brought another I hated the shape of and still do looking at pictures) because it wasn't ready as I was arriving to walk down the aisle, no one did a sound check so my friend ran and got his speaker and we used it instead. She told the groom "Sorry, but it's not your day." Though she told me it was better if they put the flowers on the cake themselves they forgot so I literally saw someone run to put them on there which means my cake was ugly.

At the end of the day it was a beautiful wedding and her team was sweet and responsive but if you're hiring a wedding planner because you're a more detail oriented bride and you need help with those pieces I don't know that this is the company for you.

Leading up to our wedding, JoAnn appeared capable, introduced herself to vendors and made promises of things running smoothly. The day of our wedding, we had a quick run through of the ceremony. My fiancé & I were running around wrangling relatives and friends (in heels!) while JoAnn stood around & complained about my finance's family being slow. She was of no assistance getting the families together for pre-ceremony photos. I had to do this & almost lost my voice yelling for our families to take their places. Then, JoAnn proceeded to complain to us about our officiant--that she was too slow. Then, she complained that guests weren't sitting in the correct places for the reception. Then, she complained to my mother about the DJ's sound guy suspiciously standing close to the gifts (he was a very nice person with no ill will). Yet, she did nothing to solve ANY of these problems. She just made us aware of all the problems. Then, throughout the evening as I went to change from heels to flats, I found JoAnn just sitting in the back room doing nothing. My groom & parents were having to track down the catering staff to ask for water to be served to our guests --JoAnn was nowhere to be found. In her absence our cake was served. We had expressed to her the importance of us getting left over cake, even if it was just a slice. We didn't eat our slices we were served. JoAnn said there was no cake left. I assume that the slices we didn't eat were thrown away. I feel that JoAnn should have monitored this more closely. The few things she did, she did well: setting up our escort cards, guest book and signs & packing it up at the end of the night. Her assistant, Karen, was wonderful. In the end we were was able to enjoy our day, but JoAnn created a negative energy that even our guests were noticing & commenting on--making an already nerve racking experience even more stressful.

I found JoAnn to be lovely and professional on the phone. She followed up after our first call to go over my needs for the day. To make this a short post, she did not perform on any of the asks for the day of coordination. She stood there and was as useless as possible. She tried to get me to add on additional staff when it was very clear they were not needed. In the end when I sent and email after the fact - she blamed the coordinator at my venue. She was full of excuses and was not worth even half of what we paid her. I was extremely disappointed in her "work". I am shocked at her reviews now looking back at them. I would not recommend using her services.

We hired JoAnn as a week of coordinator. We feel that we did not get everything the package outlined and were unhappy with JoAnn’s demeanor during and after the wedding. Our vendors were not contacted until 1 day before the wedding. After speaking to JoAnn our photographer and transportation were confused about the location of the wedding. Consequently, my wife had to speak with all the vendors the day of. She never introduced herself to us, she just came over and began to ask us questions. Even our guests thought she was just another guest. She did set up our decor, but some things were left undone. I had to move things around right before the ceremony. Right after the ceremony our plan was to take family photos, we had told JoAnn how we would really need her help in rounding up my large family, she seemed on top of it, and requested the Shot List which we provided. Unfortunately, when the time came, she was nowhere to be found and we missed out on some important photos. She also made an off handed comment to my wife regarding how she walked down the aisle. When I brought this up and told her that it was upsetting, her response was that my wife was “fragile.” I contacted JoAnn to discuss our feelings about her services. We felt that in no way did we get our money’s worth. In her responses she was abrasive, blamed the other vendors, blamed us and my mother, but did agreed that we were entitled to a refund, which we ultimately declined. JoAnn’s package says she will “take charge” and “responsibility”, which we felt she did not do. She claimed the other vendors were not accepting of her help which to me means she did not take charge. After I told her how we felt she took no responsibility by blaming everyone else. Overall, we were dissatisfied by this experience, and shocked at the way that JoAnn responded to our concerns.
