Emotionally Moving Ceremony

Sarah was amazing, truly making our wedding ceremony beautiful. She took the time to get to know us and this made the words she prepared for our ceremony heartfelt. We had so many guest tell us that they were crying through out the ceremony. She kept us on track during the wedding and used well timed levity to cover over my own confusion during the ceremony. We are so grateful for Sarah's help through out the whole process, including the help she provided in writing our vows. She was also extremely organized which made planning so easy. Sarah was a professional from start to finish and so friendly putting us at ease during our most nervous moments.

Sarah created our dream ceremony!

We are so happy that we found Sarah. Our ceremony was the most exceptional, intimate, and simply incredible event of our wedding. Every guest we spoke to for the rest of the night could not stop talking about how beautiful our ceremony was, all thanks to Sarah! She sent us a thorough questionnaire to complete, along with ample resources. We really took our time in completing the questions separately and together. Sarah took our responses and crafted the most spectacular script for our ceremony. She included beautiful poems, prayers, and readings as well. She took extra care in guiding us through the ceremony timeline, and she was very flexible with any small changes we made to the script. We would recommend Sarah again and again! I wish we could relive our ceremony everyday.

Beautifully moving ceremony with Celtic rituals

Sarah did an incredible job as officiant for our wedding! Our guests could not stop talking about how moving and beautifully written our ceremony was. Her delivery was impeccable. She was great in communication and incorporating our edits to the ceremony. We wanted to get in touch with our Celtic ancestral roots in our ceremony, and she seamlessly led our infinity knot handfasting and Quaich rituals.

It was an absolute pleasure working with her, and I highly recommend her to anyone!

She’s a true professional and did an amazing job of talking my husband and me through all the steps of creating our dream ceremony, starting with meeting us for coffee to learn more about our relationship, before we officially signed on board. She was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and her in-depth questionnaires allow her to craft a truly personal and heart-warming ceremony. Elopement Love Explosion

Sarah made everything so personal for us in our elopement. We had several calls, emails and texts that made me feel like I knew her for a long while. Seeing her was like an old friend.
She made everything smooth, gentle, gave pause and space to our process. Could not have asked for better!! It was our second marriage and we were going into this with a significant amount of heart and understanding of our values. Sarah met all of them with grace and professionalism to bring us solidarity and unity just the way we asked.

From our very first conversation, Sarah was absolutely amazing. She responded to my questions relatively quickly and worked with me and my fiance in customizing our day which was beautiful. Beautiful wedding ceremony

Sarah is an amazing wedding officiant! We got married 3 weeks ago in a small garden in New York. Sarah went above and beyond to make sure we got the best ceremony possible. She carefully reviewed the information we provided and integrated it to create a very thoughtful, personalized and touching speech. She also researched my country's tradition to add some beautiful personal touches to the ceremony. We could see that she really cares about her work and put in so much effort to make this ceremony perfect for us. I feel very lucky that we were able to find her.

Wedding Officiant

Due to the pandemic, my partner and I decided to hold a private wedding ceremony on our roof terrace in nyc with just family. We found Sarah to officiate our wedding, and she was fantastic! Weeks leading up to the ceremony, she provided a variety of excellent and flexible vows and made me feel comfortable of how it would all work. She was responsive, available and friendly!

The ceremony itself was gorgeous. It’s all went even better than expected. We appreciated her beautiful and heartfelt words and the personal touches about our lives she incorporated. I would highly recommend Sarah!

Excellent officiant

I cannot say enough about how great it was to have Sarah officiate our wedding. Even though getting married during the pandemic didn't allow us to meet Sarah in person beforehand, it was like having a good friend marry us. The best I could ask for!

After postponing our wedding, we decided to elope in the meantime. I found Sarah on a Tuesday and by Saturday, she was marrying us! She was incredibly accommodating to our requests and was extremely professional and kind every step of the way. I really loved how she went out of her way to make sure our ceremony was personal and meaningful for us. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to for an officiant. By the time your wedding comes, she won't feel like a stranger but rather a friend!

I can't write about Sarah without getting choked up. We travelled from Australia to New York, deciding that we would get married while we were on holidays there. In all honesty, when you have a celebrant that is a complete stranger, you expect a lovely ceremony, but that's about it, right? Not if you have Sarah. We met her the day before our ceremony for the first time, she came to our hotel, we sat and talked for about an hour. Conversation was flowing and easy, and both my husband and I were looking forward to the next day. I cannot emphasise enough how our ceremony exceeded all our hopes and expectations. I am a bubbly and outgoing person, I cried through the whole ceremony. Sarah, from that one hour meeting, had picked up all that was important to us, and brought it into our ceremony. From acknowledging my Dad, who suffered a brain injury 18 months earlier, to gifting our handwritten vows back to us, in unique 'The New Yorker' cards, to the little goblet we used in our toast, that signified my Dad's Polish heritage. Sarah organised all of this, we will love her forever for the effort and love she put in to making us feel like we were her number one priority (and we were!) My ONLY regret is not having booked a videographer to capture it all. Rick and I could never have thought up such a beautiful ceremony, but Sarah did. We both wholeheartedly advise ANYONE who is getting married in New York to choose Sarah. She made our day more amazing than a fairytale.

I was beginning to get worried about how our ceremony might turn out after admittedly not giving it much thought until the very end. Sarah Ritchie was the Officiant for our Pop Up Wedding in NYC and I was at least comforted by her countless positive reviews on the internet. I now know why the raves are warranted. She ended up taking such fantastic care of us and creating an incredibly personal and intimate ceremony in very little time. She was such a joyful, lovely presence on our wedding day. I couldn't recommend her highly enough!

Sarah worked with us to create a highly personalized, unique ceremony. We're an interfaith, multicultural couple, and Sarah wrote a touching, cohesive ceremony that reflected those elements. At one point I mentioned how it would be nice to include a minute of meditation, and Sarah turned it into a longer portion that helped to ground us and our guests. She also included a Buddhist component that involved ringing a bell, and incorporated family into one of the readings. Working with her was very easy since she was flexible and laid back, and didn't add to our stress levels — unlike other vendors. So many of our guests told us how much they loved our ceremony, and we couldn't agree more. Our only regret is that we don't have video of it; otherwise we can't recommend Sarah enough.

Sarah was a wonderful officiant. Both my husband and I grew up Catholic but have long since left and had no connection with the church. On top of that we both had horrible memories about long wedding services but were scared about finding the right officiant and then we found Sarah. From the first time we emailed and met she was warm and listened to what our vision was. She did a fantastic job crafting our ceremony and during afterwards I had guest coming up to me saying they had never heard such a lovely ceremony. We are so happy we met her and that she married us.

Marcos and I got married at a beautiful location in central park. We decided for a small and intimate wedding with only the most important people to us attending and it was the best choice we made. I just have to say that I could never in a lifetime have found someone better to marry my husband and I. The whole experience with Sarah was more than anything we expected. From the first email sent she understood our situation and worked around our budget with no hesitation in comparison to other officiants we had reached out to. We are more than happy it didn't work with anyone else but Sarah, she went above and beyond to make our day the most memorable and special day of our life's even though we didn't have a big wedding. We pushed our wedding day twice and she was the most understanding person ever. & when the worst thing that could have happened to us HAPPENED the day before our wedding she kept me sane and gave me all the options possible to make everything work out. Our wedding ceremony was more beautiful than we had ever thought it would be. She made sure to add personal stuff of our history into the ceremony and what she did for us after we could never thank her enough for the beautiful gestures she had with us. My husband and I could not have been more pleased with Rev. Sarah Ritchie. She created a beautiful, personal and memorable ceremony for us. While the wording she prepared was lovely, she was also spontaneous and seemed to intuitively sense when humor or gravity was called for. Many of our guests assumed she knew us for a long time prior to the wedding because she included so much of our history together, and they were very impressed. We are of German descent and held our wedding at a German restaurant, and she thoughtfully brought us a German flag and "Just Married" signs. She also found a poem by the German writer Goethe to use as one of the readings, and even made a little video for us of the reception! Her fee was very reasonable considering everything she did. We would recommend her to anyone.

Sarah, was a wonderful gift from God to help perform our marriage ceremony. She so attentive to what we wanted and helped us plan our ceremony in Central Park in New York. We live in St. Louis, Missouri and she was always available to us if we had questions. Her every little detail made this truly the best day of our lives. Our families are still talking about how great Sarah was and how she seemed to know us forever in how she spoke so elegantly at our ceremony.
Both my wife and I thought that Sarah was very knowledgeable and extremely creative with her suggestions. We completely trusted her and she gave excellent advice and ideas she had for our ceremony. She listened to the important pieces that we wanted included and then worked her magic with the rest.
We will be back someday in the future to New York so that Sarah can bless our babies. We can't think of anyone else we would want to do that.

We decided to get married in New York and not at home in Glasgow, Scotland. We wanted a more intimate wedding and 26 family and friends made the trip with us - all of whom made a holiday out of their trip and made the most of every minute in NYC. Our wedding day was beyond our wildest dreams and Sarah played a large part in making it so special.

Sarah was recommended to Tom and I and from the first email helped and guided us through the process of getting married overseas. We were not sure how we wanted the ceremony to flow however Sarah offered us ideas and suggestions that helped us decide. We didn't have an exact plan in mind however after a few emails and phonecall, Sarah 'got us'! We met Sarah beforehand to go through a few final details and felt really confident in Sarah doing a good job!! The ceremony itself really reflected Tom and I and exceeded our expectations. Sarah's attention to detail was really special, from the wonderful words to the mementos she thought of: bubbles for the ladies, the lovely butterfly to signify a new beginning, the signing of the register during the ceremony (prepared by Sarah as traditional in the UK) to the quaich (Scottish 'loving' cup).

I would like to recommend Sarah to those of you getting married in NYC whether you are local or from overseas. Sarah is perceptive, personable and just a great person.

I could not recommend Sarah highly enough. She performed our wedding in August 2013 and it was such a lovely service. She took the time to understand us and incorporated elements from our life in the service which was a lovely touch. She didn't try and influence us with her beliefs, rather listen to what was important to us. She even organized champagne glasses for a toast after the ceremony.

If you have the opportunity to work with Sarah please do, you won't regret it. I could not have wished for a better wedding ceremony. Thank you Sarah

Sarah married Carl and I on October 25. A simple ceremony with closes friends at our hotel suite.

My husband and I could not be any more satisfied with the service Sarah provided to us. We actually got married only 4 days after hurricane Sandy in 2012. It was very difficult for us to get in contact with many of our vendors but Sarah actually reached out to us! Commuting to our Venue in Long Island was going to be very difficult due to shortage of gas and horrific road conditions. Sarah assured us she would make it even if public transportation was her only option. Sure enough, she made it and made our ceremony unbelievable and something our guests are still talking about one year later. I can't say enough good things about her. Choosing Sarah to officiate your wedding will be one of the best decisions you make. I recommend her to all my friends who are now getting married with confidence they will receive the amazing service we did.

We organized our elopement wedding, with Sarah as our celebrant, from Australia via emails and skype. We trusted Sarah from the start, she was so professional, so we agreed for our ceremony to be a surprise based on all the notes we gave her. We were blown away by how she captured our personalities and stories and was able to weave in verses about our families, the rings, the location etc which perfectly suited our values. She delivered it with such class, she's a real Southern Belle, and she had printed out our readings in a helpfully large font and placed them in a folder for us. Sarah loves her work and on our special day she delivered heaps of welcomed extras, and all from her own initiative and sweet heart, such as; because it was a chilly spring day she lent me one of her fur stoles to wear over my dress; she organized a busker to play for us in central park nyc; she bought us cupcakes from magnolia bakery and; created a keepsake book for us afterwards with the ceremony and photos. She is such a warm and loving person who made us feel like we were her only clients, where in reality she is booked out all year. We still keep in touch two years on and we now read our keepsake book ever year on our wedding anniversary, the beautiful words still being tears to our eyes.

Sarah was an absolute pleasure to have as a very important part of our special day . We had an unusual request as we were married on a moving float during a parade up 5th avenue . Sarah was completely flexible and her easy going but professional attitude made us feel at ease and we were able to stop and start the ceremony as the parade was in motion . Sarah was absolutely the most perfect combination of helping to create a wedding that was truly "us" while at the same time giving us a number of alternatives for dealings with some of the details that would otherwise have been bewildering. All of her recommendations were spot-on. Even when she had immediate obligations, she always responded with a note telling us when she would be able to get back to us. She was the soul of flexibility, professionalism, and just charming to deal with . She wove a number of elements together to create an event that surpassed our expectations. While unobtrusive, her presence was a very positive addition to the ceremony. I would not have changed a detail of either the planning component or the event.

Sarah was the perfect fit for our wedding ceremony. Our initial plan was to go to the courthouse. After my soon-to-be father in law planned a dinner for us, we decided at the last minute to have a ceremony at the dinner and surprise our family and friends. When I contacted Sarah, she was very responsive, easy to work with, and was able to perform the ceremony the very next week. She helped us select the vows, had great examples for us to choose from, arrived at the event on time, and then gave us a lovely ceremony. We were very happy with the service and grateful she was able to accommodate us. I highly recommend Sarah!

Ms Sarah made our recent personal wedding meaningful.

She not only wrote a special wedding speech for us, but also thought and offered more wedding ideas and customs to tailor our needs.

She is very professional, caring and detail orientated. She brought tea-toast when she knew we don't drink wine, few fun bubble wedding cakes and a butterfly pin as gifts for us.

Sarah officiated for our intimate at-home ceremony and was perfect! We loved her in-depth questionnaire that she used to craft our ceremony as well as the phone conversations we had. Sarah Ritchie was an answered prayer for our wedding. At a time when we were rushed, scattered and under-prepared, she provided a holistic approach to our wedding, consulting on everything from the music to the food to the decorations and, of course, the ceremony itself. We didn't have to worry about forgetting anything because we knew Sarah was right on top of it all.

She created a ceremony and vows that were highly personalized to us. She managed to blend professionalism and authority with friendliness, humor and personality in a way that few people can. Ours was a small affair with just a few friends in attendance and she managed to make everyone feel included and create an atmosphere and event that we will all treasure forever.

I cannot thank Sarah enough for making a dream day come true for two very special men in my life. Together for 17 years and they decided to make it "official" on 11.11.11. As there friend, witness and wedding concierge, I found the perfect person to facilitate the wedding, Sarah Ritchie.

There is no way the day would have been the same without her. Her beautiful, calm presence enabled all of us to focus and appreciate what love is truly about; trust and faith. She arrived early, dressed impeccably and was extremely professional. The ceremony was held at NY's beautiful Bryant Park and seemed the perfect backdrop for Sarah to sprinkle her blessings over these two men. We ALL felt compelled to give Sarah a big hug after the vowes and you can just tell that she loves what she does. I have been in a welcomed and unique position in working with Sarah...
As a wedding planner, I called on Sarah to officiate a wedding ceremony for an out of state couple who happened to get married during an unprecedented blizzard in NYC last February. Sarah was the only "constant" during that hectic process of planning and weather and performed a beautiful ceremony.
My favorite and most personal experience with Sarah, however, was 2 weeks ago as she officiated my wedding elopement in Central Park. I will NEVER forget the added measures she took upon herself to make our ceremony memorable and meaningful. She is a rare and precious gift to a wedding ceremony which, in my case, has made all the difference n the world.

We are a young couple who were planning a small, mid-week ceremony in central park. We were keeping our ceremony quite simple, but we left a great deal of the planning until the very last minute. Fortunately, Sarah Ritchie is a true professional who was able to produce a beautiful draft of the ceremony which incorporated all our suggestions, and it only took her 2 days. With some very minor amendments, Sarah crafted a beautiful ceremony that all our guests agreed was both personal and unforgettable. I can't thank Sarah enough for helping us celebrate our wedding and making it so perfect. And 2 days after the wedding, she had already sent off the marriage certificate to the clerk's office, and a copy of that paperwork arrived at our house with a lovely card from her. She's the best!

Last weekend, 9/27/09, I had the pleasure of participating in a wedding ceremony in which Sarah Ritchie presided. The location was central park and rain from the night before had soaked the open-air location. A light rain continued throughout the ceremony with chili temps in the high 60's. All guests had umbrellas. So wet! Yet, Sarah, understanding the couples fondness for Central Park, made it sound like the obvious and natural thing to do. I think the couple will remember it quite fondly!
She arrived well in advance of the ceremony and was prepared in every way(even helped by lending me some plastic sleeves to keep my music dry!)
I found her ceremony to be mindful, and spontaneous, yet fully prepared with the plan. speaking clearly and confidently, all friends and family were smiling! A wonderful memory.
I highly recommend her services.

Sarah Ritchie was incredible! We eloped from Australia and we were concerned that our ceremony may feel impersonal as we had no guests and we weren't in our home country. I'm glad to say we were very wrong!
She was phenomenal. Personal, sweet, funny, charming. So very thoughtful. Our ceremony was peppered with thoughts and will wishes from our family and friends (which she had pre-organised), she bought lovely gifts for us, and absolutely everything was thought of. She is also ridiculously good value. I can honestly say that she made the day for us - without her it may have felt lacklustre/lonely so far from home, but thanks to Sarah we had the happiest moment of our lives in her presence. Sarah was such a pleasure to work with and my husband and I loved how our ceremony turned out. Initially, my husband and I had found a different officiant who ended up double booking us. We were able to find Sarah on relatively short notice, but she was still able to take time to work with us even though she had quite a busy schedule.

My husband and I wanted a non-religious ceremony and Sarah was able to create a personalized script that stayed very true to both of our styles. She had us complete questionnaires about one another and used them to create her script. Because of this, there were so many special touches to the ceremony. My husband is from the UK and Sarah also incorporated some of the British customs into our ceremony, which his family loved.

Sarah was very knowledgeable about the marriage license process and even told us about the long form license, which we needed for visa paperwork. She made everything much easier as we didn't have to do research on how to apply for everything.

I would highly recommend working with Sarah, as she is so easy to work with and really creates a unique ceremony based on what you want as a couple. She is flexible and willing to make changes to anything before the wedding to make sure you are completely comfortable with everything. She is a beautiful speaker and we loved our ceremony.

We came from Canada to NYC to get married and were lucky to have found Sarah to be our officiant. She did a fantastic job preparing a personalized ceremony for us, and was even in touch with my husband's mom so that we could surprise him with something from his mom on the wedding day as she couldn't be there for our ceremony.

Sarah went above and beyond, making herself available to us for general questions about visiting the city and even preparing a little bag of "props" for our pictures later with toasting glasses, champagne, some sweets, and several other things as well.

It was a pleasure to work with her and I would highly recommend her.

When it was time for our wedding we did not think twice about asking Sarah and we're grateful that she accepted. She officiated our wedding in Sept 2013 and it was a lovely ceremony. My husband and I were moved by her words; after the ceremony, several guests commented on how engaging and personal the ceremony felt. Sarah was very thorough about getting to know us as a couple (via phone conversations, questionnaire forms, etc) allowing us to review her draft, giving us options on what she would wear, and offering us helpful suggestions (i.e. using a microphone in an outdoor setting,etc). Sarah Ritchie promises a personalized wedding ceremony and she definitely delivers. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful, many guests had tears in their eyes. Sarah was seeking out a lot of input from both me and my husband (our story etc.) and also from some of our friends (how they perceive us as a couple etc.). We dumped a lot of information on her, and somehow she was able to incorporate this into an amazing narrative. The ceremony really ended up being the centerpiece of the day and not just an afterthought next to the party. Sarah was super-professional throughout the entire process. If there is any misgiving, I sometimes wished she would have responded faster to messages and emails, but that was ultimately minor, because the end result was terrific.

I looked at two other celebrants before choosing Sarah. Her ability to respond to my questions clearly as well as offer other suggestions from the first phone interview really put my mind at ease. Surprisingly there are celebrants out there who were not even clear about the steps in getting the certificate from city hall. Sarah knew exactly what to do.

I felt that she was thoughtful in giving me updates and would let me know when she performed a ceremony in 'my' location and how the setting was that day.

It was also very useful that she was able to work with us up to the last minute. While we sent her all our information early, we hadn't chosen our vows as my fiance had to fly in to NY just before the wedding.

A very thoughtful touch was her sending me an email the night before offering me a wrap of hers that would match my dress to keep me warm - we had met at the outdoor ceremony location the day before and I was concerned how cold it was. She had a maternal touch that way.

The only challenging part was not always getting a quick response from her as it was a busy season for getting married. But everything was done on time. The groom was a little sad that she didn't get his name right the first time when the ceremony started but she did get it right for the rest of it.

Our guests commented on how lovely and spiritual our vows were. Thankfully Sarah has put together a book of vows that made choosing them very easy. I don't know what we would have done without that book!

Sarah was tough to reach at certain points throughout our time consulting with her, but every time we met with her, she reassured us that our ceremony would be fine. She has a calm manner that always put us at ease when we felt anxious. Overall, she crafted a beautiful one-of-a-kind ceremony that people loved. We were playing a trip to New York for our tenth wedding anniversary and wanted to renew our wedding vows. It was only going to be something small but yet we wanted it to be special and memorable. We live in Ireland and needed some local knowledge for Central Park and New York City. After a few Google searchers we came across Sarah's website.

And the rest is history...... Sarah looked after everything, all we had to do was fill out a questionnaire and select our location from a list of recommendations. She also gave us a list of photographers which we chose from. All that was left for us to do was to show up and enjoy the very personalized ceremony. Sarah also offered to arrange for Flowers, Music, Restaurant, Makeup and Hair to be done for the day if we needed any of them.

As we were long distance travelers to NY, nearly all our communications with Sarah was via email, we spoke on the phone at the start, to get a feel for what we would like and Sarah did volunteer to Skype call at any time if we needed to. We where never waiting for any response from Sarah, she was always on top of things.

The ceremony was put together by Sarah and it was very personal to both my wife and I, we absolutely loved our time with Sarah and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for that personal touch.
