Best location to have a wedding!

You cannot go wrong if you choose to marry here. Cheryl Walton is the best to work with, and so accommodating. Everything was perfect. The wedding was in Western Lake Park, cocktails by the pool and reception in the Lake House. The food was excellent as was the service.

The very best wedding experience!

I had an amazing wedding experience at Watercolor Inn! Cheryl was my wedding coordinator and she was so wonderful!! We planned this out of state and she worked with us to make it effortless! It was all so professional and well thought out, I could relax and know that I was in good hands!

The venue was absolutely gorgeous, and everything went so smoothly. All of our guests had a BLAST! We got so many compliments about it being the best wedding ever! On the wedding day, Cheryl attended to our every need before we even knew what we needed! My husband and I, and our families, were able to be present and simply appreciate the special day without worrying about a thing. The experience is worth the expense! I'm so grateful to them all, and would highly recommend it!!

My dream wedding and venue!! While it might be a little more expensive, it was such a wonderful experience working with WaterColor. Our coordinator was Nina and she was so fantastic! Very organized, professional, and made the day and planning so much fun and stress free. You will receive 5 star treatment if you select WaterColor as your wedding venue. I also loved that they have indoor back up space for inclement weather which most venues do not have along 30a.

Our guests can’t stop talking about how much fun and how beautiful the wedding was!

Joseph Lanzy and the staff at WaterColor made our wedding absolutely perfect. Our ceremony was in Cerulean park and our reception was in the Lakehouse. Both were beautiful. The food, service, and entire experience were all fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at WaterColor!

I can't say enough lovely things about Nina, our coordinator. She was so helpful, organized, professional and genuinely caring. She reassured us every step of the way so we were comfortable. Because of her, we knew our day would be amazing no matter what because she was there watching over every detail. We planned our wedding in the span of three months and it was EASY thanks to Nina. If you have her as your coordinator you are lucky! When it came to the day of, she was so poised despite some tricky whether which made me feel so much better. She looked after us herself all night, making sure we had food and drinks in hand. I may be biased but I think my wedding was the most fun wedding I have ever been to, and that's thanks to all of Nina's hard work.

The grounds at WaterColor are obviously breathtaking. We had our reception in Cerulean Park and our reception outside on the Inn Green behind Fish Out of Water Restaurant. I am so lucky to have found this place and that it was available, I can't think of a more beautiful place to have such an important occasion.

THE. FOOD. WAS. AMAZING. All my friends and family said so. Everyone said at your own wedding you don't really eat because your too busy, but my husband and I made sure we ate plenty (with Nina's help) because the food was just so perfectly done. You can't go wrong with anything you pick because Chef Deese Chatwood is a true talent. The best food I have ever had at a wedding. At our tasting I felt like we knew him forever. He was so funny, warm and welcoming. The entire staff at our wedding was awesome. It was the best night of our lives.

Our wedding was better than I could have ever dreamed. Thank you so much everyone! :)

My experience at WaterColor Resort was absolutely amazing. Having insight as an event planner myself, I will confidently say that Joseph Lanzy and his staff provided exceptional service and support throughout the entire wedding planning process. Joseph was thorough with every detail and financial element of our wedding, leaving my parents and me with ZERO worries. In addition to his professionalism, Joseph has a contagious charisma, he was very comforting to the entire family... Even guests were commenting on how awesome he was! The resort was beautiful, and they went above and beyond in ensuring the venue looked pristine, even to the extent of mulching the already beautiful flowerbeds at my dad's request! The food was delicious and my menu unique compared to other weddings I have attended. From start to finish, the wedding was flawless. I love to reminisce on the entire day. WaterColor blessed me with the wedding of my dreams! 5 stars!

Our wedding was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more qualified, attentive, and friendly planner! Joseph helped our day happen without a hitch, and the venue was flawless. It poured rain all well leading up to our wedding, so we were nervous the green spaces would be muddy and soggy, but they were perfect! Everyone had an amazing time! Thank you!!!

Cheryl Walton was our wedding coordinator, and she did an incredible job!! She was responsive and wonderful in every way!! The ceremony was held at Marina Park and the reception and cocktail hour were held at The Lakehouse and pool area in Watercolor Lakeside. The venue is beautiful to begin with, but with the help of, Cheryl, along with our event coordinator, Carley Hubbard, at Events by Nouveau, they created a wedding that no one ever forget. It was absolutely magical!! Cheryl was with us the entire way from selecting the food and beverages, which was wonderful, to our daughter and son-in-law leaving the event. She was responsive to any need of the bride and groom, wedding party, and all our guests. We were all so very thankful for Cheryl, and I can't express how wonderful she truly is, as she is one in a million!! My only regret is that the event is over!!! I highly recommend Watercolor, Cheryl, and Events by Nouveau if you want a dream wedding!!

Nina and the team at Watercolor could not have made our wedding planning process any easier. My husband and I planned a wedding in 3 months and most people thought we were crazy, but Nina made it so easy on us! There was absolutely no stress throughout the entire process, and that is exactly what we were looking for. Our time at the resort was spent hanging out with family and friends. Our wedding was a Sunday brunch, which is not common, but Nina and the Chef took this opportunity to make our day so special. We got everything we could have dreamed of and more. There was not a hiccup in the day, and I know it's because they treat every bride and groom like they are the most important priority to them. We've always loved Watercolor, but all of our guests were from out of town, and they are still talking about the next time we are coming back to stay, because it was absolutely perfect!

Fantastic, wonderful and amazing! Coordinator, Joseph Lanzy asked the right questions and listened to what I wanted. He suggested vendors, based on my desires. All were perfect for our wedding! He is great!
The food was so delicious at the reception! The chef from FISH OUT OF WATER designed a fantastic menu. Their pasty chef made a lovely, tasty cake. Everyone loved the food!
We had a bonfire for the rehearsal dinner. So much fun.
The ceremony and reception venues were decorated so beautifully.

We got married April 18th, 2015 and it was absolutely PERFECT thanks to Joseph Lanzy and the incredible team at Watercolors. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Fish Out of Water and it was perfect! Our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had and the best wedding they had been to. Working with Joseph was amazing throughout the entire process and the day of he was on top of every detail and made it so we (bride and groom) could enjoy our day! It was an absolutely incredible weekend and it was all because of Joseph and his team! It made planning a destination wedding seamless and easy. I highly recommend this venue and Joseph to anyone getting married in the area! It is the BEST place to get married on 30A!!!!

Where do I begin to talk about our wedding coordinator Ashton Burks. The Watercolor Inn & Resort should be honored to have her! We planned our wedding among 3 months. Ashton was responsive and met all our needs and more. During the process of the planning, I always complimented her for being patient with me and so accommodating. She found ways to keep us within budget and made our wedding dream come true. During the day of the wedding, she was available all day and tended to everything and anything I needed. At the time of arrival of our cocktail party, we were blown away to see how everything came together, it was perfect in every way. Ashton had a set agenda and kept us on schedule during the entire wedding reception. We don't know what we would have done if we didn't have her. We don't know how else to say that Ashton will not disappoint you and will meet your expectations and beyond. Ashton - If you read this, we can't thank you enough for everything you have done for us. We hope if you ever come to Houston, we will show you where to get the best pecan pie!!!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Watersound Beach Club. Everything went perfectly, and what is more wonderful is that we didn't have to worry about any of it thanks to Ashton. Actually, I guess she and her team are why everything went perfectly. Ashton managed the whole event from pre-event planning to the day of in a manner that gave us such confidence that things would run smoothly, and she was also great about navigating multiple opinions. To be able to be calm and worry-free on my wedding day was such a gift. We also got rave reviews about the food, and it was easy and fun to coordinate the food with Chef Shane. The setting is spectacular and the people made it even better.

Cheryl was absolutely AMAZING and the sweetest!! After our venue coordinator was no longer with our venue, Cheryl swooped right in and saved the day, along with Arden Sanders, our fabulous planner!! Cheryl was so knowledgable and thorough and helped us plan a food menu that would suit all, the perfect layout for our big day (especially after having to change our specific venue spot due to rain), and made sure our wedding exceeded our wildest dreams! All I can say was that my wedding day was absolutely perfect! It would not have been possible without the help of Joseph! He was amazing and so much fun to be around. He certainly made sure everything went according to plan during my entire wedding process. I literally had no stress when planning my wedding. The staff was so wonderful and the food was divine!! We got married in Western Lake Park and then our reception was at the Lake House. Everything was perfect and everyone kept telling me it was by far the most gorgeous wedding they'd ever been to! I highly recommend getting married here!!

Everything at WaterColor was WONDERFUL! Cheryl was fabulous to work with, too. The only drawback was the contracted venue was not complete by the time of our event. However, they worked with us to provide another location.

WaterColor is a four-star resort known for its exceptionally friendly and professional staff, gourmet cuisine and naturally beautiful environs that appeal to both couples and families. All of these elements were shining bright at our wonderful wedding weekend in mid-December. In fact, I think WaterColor has weddings down to a science. In addition to hosting our ceremony, reception, after-party and post-wedding breakfast, their catering department served our welcome dinner at a home on the property. Every single event was top-notch!

Planning a wedding long-distance (we both live in New York City) can be daunting, but if you have the expertise of Cheryl Walton (WaterColor wedding coordinator) and her talented team to guide you, rest assured that everything will turn out perfectly--even if it rains on the Big Day, as we experienced. Because of the unpredictable weather, we tracked the forecast hour-by-hour, making several last-minute changes in venues. Everything was handled so smoothly and calmly by the WaterColor team, that none of our guests realized the drama happening behind the scenes. All weekend long, everyone kept raving about the food, the ambiance, and the incredible staff that never tires of extending the best in service and hospitality.

Our daughter's October wedding ceremony was at Western Lake Park, followed by a cocktail hour on the pool deck and a reception at the new Lakehouse. We also hosted a morning-after brunch on the Inn Green the following morning. I am still hearing rave reviews from our guests--the setting was gorgeous, the food was excellent and our event planner, Cheryl Walton, was a complete professional who did a fantastic job. Other than being a bit disappointed with the recommended cake vendor, we experienced total perfection the entire weekend. I wish we could do it all over again!!

Our WaterColor Inn wedding was beautiful. My guests enjoyed themsleves and said that our Fish Out of Water dinner was the best wedding food they have experienced. Allison was awesome and kept the process on track and in control.

My husband and I got married at Watercolor on the beach with the reception on the lawn behind the hotel. Joseph took great care of us from the very beginning! Through the whole process it was nothing but easy. Being out of town I was a little nervous but Joseph took care of us. We could not have asked for a more perfect night with all of our friends and family. Joseph is the best!

Our daughter’s wedding at WaterColor was everything she dreamed of and so much more! From our initial inquiry and meeting with Allison Elfrink, to the coordination of every little detail with Joseph Lanzy, we could not have been more pleased.

With the prediction and delivery of almost 2 inches of rain on the wedding day, Joseph and his crew did not miss a beat working through last minute venue changes and all the details that followed (umbrellas, transportation for the wedding party and families, transportation of bride and groom, even a last minute button sewn on my son’s suit…..thank you Joseph!). As mother of the bride, when Joseph said to me, “Ms. Jeanne, relax, we have everything under control, it’s going to be ok”, I knew we were in good hands.

We were extremely pleased with the preferred vendors recommended by WaterColor including Bella Flora Weddings and Amanda Suanne Photography. From the initial planning phase to last minute changes due to weather, each worked in coordination with Joseph to ensure nothing would dampen the day. Bella Flora did an amazing, beautiful job in meeting our vision, while Amanda Suanne Photography captured every precious detail of their day – taking advantage of the small little breaks in the heavy downpours to capture all she could outdoors.

Our guests were amazed by the beauty of the venue, the friendliness and professionalism of each and every staff person and the wonderfully prepared, yummy food.

More than any of the above, our beautiful daughter and her wonderful new husband were blessed with an experience they will never forget. Thanks to Joseph Lanzy and the entire team of WaterColor Inn and Resort - you have and fully deliver the whole package!

My wedding was in Watercolor, FL on September 21, 2013. Our wedding coordinator was Joseph Lanzy and he was AMAZING from start to finish! Our original plans were to get married in Western Lake Park and have the reception at the Boathouse. With an 80% chance of rain on our wedding day we decided to move everything in doors. We were the very first wedding in Watercolors new Lake House. This venue is soooo beautiful!! I am from Kentucky and I wanted that to show in my venue and it did! Joseph and his team made sure everything came together just as we had imagined. This was our dream wedding and we had the time of our lives and so did our guests! I would highly reccommend Watercolor to any bride! All the venues they offer are beautiful! I also can't forget to mention the food! I had read great reviews on the food and I was not let down one bit. We loved everything about our big day! My husband and I just recently got married at WaterColor Inn and Resort, on the beach. I have always dreamed of getting married on the beach and I had a vision of what I wanted- from the ceremony and reception. Let me tell you, my vision and expectations were far exceeded. Our wedding planner, Cheryl Walton, is by far the absolute BEST wedding planner! Not only is she the best wedding planner, but she is the kindest person. She made the whole wedding process so easy for us. We traveled beforehand to WaterColor for our vendor day and met with Cheryl, along with all of the vendors that Cheryl arranges to participate. Within 4 hours, we had our flowers picked out, our cake flavors/design picked out and all of our reception food picked out as well. Our wedding was absolutley perfect and so was our reception. I've gotten many compliments from our guests who attended our wedding who had the best time. Cheryl, we cannot thank you enough and I can't thank you enough for making my dream wedding come true! It was more than I ever thought it would be! You're the best and we can't tell you how much we appreciate you!

I just got married at WaterColor Inn and Resort and it was truly an amazing experience. I think at least half of our 280 guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I have to thank the incredible Cheryl Walton and the WaterColor staff for that! I actually had several guests comment to me about how great of a coordinator she was, which is something I don't think a lot of guests notice. Since we signed the contract, Cheryl was responsive, patient, and accommodating at every step of the way. During our wedding weekend, she was coordinating weddings four days in a row (!) but she was totally attentive to our wedding. My family and I had so many ideas for the wedding, as well as several last minute changes, and Cheryl made them all happen effortlessly. She literally did not miss a detail, up to making sure we had wedding cake waiting for us in our room after the wedding. Without Cheryl, our wedding would not have been nearly the success it was. In addition to Cheryl's coordinating skills, the food was incredible! Their chef is in-house and created such delicious passed appetizers and dinner. Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing it all tasted.

Though the wedding ended up being absolutely perfect, we did have some difficulties at the beginning with the venue due to some delays in construction of the lake house. These delays were stressful at the time, but WaterColor followed through with their promise to us and ended up providing a tent venue plus boat house after party that was even better than what was originally planned. We were a bit frustrated with the management's initial handling of the situation, but in the end they went above and beyond to give us all we had imagined and more.

In my opinion, WaterColor is the best wedding venue in the 30a area, as it has a unique, rustic beauty and most of its services are in-house. It is an expensive venue, but you definitely get what you pay for - a gorgeous, high-quality, memorable wedding!

We had the most amazing wedding at Watercolor Inn & Resort. It was the wedding of our dreams thanks to Cheryl and Joseph! From the moment we booked our wedding, Cheryl and Joseph were there every step of the way helping to plan a perfect day, answer ALL of our questions, and ensure us that it would all be perfect and it was! Joseph was amazing the weekend of wedding as he helped make our vision come to life . We had a beautiful beach wedding and the reception exceeded our dreams. Joseph and Cheryl added so many little thoughtful touches throughout the weekend. They made sure that all of the vendors were taken care of which was amazing the day of our wedding. I had NOTHING to worry with Joseph and Cheryl taking care of everything for us on our wedding day. The food at the reception was absolutely wonderful. Our guests raved about it. The chef was so easy to work with and made a perfect menu of our favorite food. This was the perfect venue, team of planners, and location for our dream wedding.

WaterColor was the perfect venue for us at our home away from home. Cheryl and her team walked us through each and every step handling everything from arranging vendors to dropping off a card for my soon-to-be husband the day of our wedding.

As we planned the wedding I provided pictures or talked through ideas that I had, but I trusted that they would gather all of that and create the vision of what we were looking for on our wedding day. Prior to the wedding I walked into the BoatHouse and was so happy I couldn't believe it. WaterColor captured everything that I wanted, and made it even more perfect that I could have imagined.

Cheryl, the vendors she helped us choose, and the rest of the team made our wedding day more perfect that I ever thought that it would be. There is not a single aspect that I sit back and think if I could have changed it I would. Our guests raved about the setting, the service, the food, etc. Fish Out of Water is one of our favorite places on 30A, and the food served at our wedding was just as good for over 80 people as it is when they serve 2 at a table. Each table was served all at one time, with someone explaining exactly what they were being served for the evening.

We stayed at the Inn the night of our wedding, and the following night. The excellent service and welcoming people continued right until the moment we left in our car. I can not say enough about the outstanding weekend that WaterColor provided us and the memories we will hold forever.

We planned a destination wedding at Watercolor Inn and Resort. My husband and I were nervous about coordinating with vendors and having to plan without being able to be hands on and able to see everything.

Watercolor staff was extremely helpful with communication by e-mail and phone. Cheryl was great at communicating with our Florida vendors on our behalf and made excellent recommendations.

When we arrived in Florida, staff was accommodating and relieved so much stress. Everything was taken care of and organized ahead of time. My husband and I did not have to do a thing and everything looked beautiful. Watercolor recommended our DJ, florist/decorator, and handled all of the food and beverages in house. They coordinated everything and simply asked for our opinions and approval when necessary.

We are so grateful to Watercolor for creating such a beautiful wedding and reception for us and our families. We enjoyed every minute, did not have to worry about a thing, and had the most memorable time.

We had a beautiful beach wedding at Watercolor. The staff and wedding coordinator (Cheryl) were GREAT! They were attentive and easy to work with. The reception was moved indoors at last minute secondary to rain. The staff moved everything quickly and perfectly to recreate the same ambiance inside as out. The food was amazing. Our family went back for thirds! We felt that we had personal attention all weekend at the resort. It is a perfect location for a wedding and vacation. Worth EVERY PENNY! :)

Our wedding at WaterColor was absolutely PERFECT. Their wedding coordinator, Cheryl Walton, did a wonderful job at coordinating all of the vendors and appointments. Once I decided on the food, cake, music, and flowers she took care of everything in regards to contracts and scheduling for meetings and the day of. My guests have been RAVING about the food. The whole property is beautiful and my guests were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend. From the impromptu post rehearsal dinner "happy hour" at the Inn Bar, to the post reception Bon Fire... fun was had by all!

I can't say enough good things about Cheryl Walton and the entire staff of the WaterColor Inn & Resort. Our wedding was just this past Saturday (April 2nd) and every single thing about it was ah-mazing! Cheryl was so much fun to work with durring the planning phase and the day of the wedding she handled every little detail flawlessly so I could just enjoy the day. Our guests are still raving about the food saying it was the best wedding food they have ever had! The grounds were amazingly beautiful and the weather was perfect. All of our guests raved about the entire weekend and to do it all over again (can we please?) I would not change a single thing!!! In terms of helpful tips for brides considering this venue (I loved reading constructive reviews of my vendors durring the booking phase) here are a few things: 1. We had 87 people and I thought that was the perfect number for a reception at the Inn Green - we had initially planned on having 150 but now I think that would have been a little tight for that space. 2. Before you sign the contract put a lot of thought behind how many rooms you need because I was told I could add rooms to our block at any time so only booked a minimum and then was told 2 weeks later that I could not add any more so we had to spend a ton of money on shuttling the bulk of our guests over from the Sandestin Hilton. It ended up working out fine since the rooms there were so much cheaper but had I known it was going to be an issue I would have tried to get a better rough head count up front. 3. You have to use their preffered vendors for everything - this was my most favorite thing about planning a wedding here because it made my life SO EASY!! Since this was a destination wedding for us I really loved that my choices were limited and I knew that anyone that they were reccomending has done weddings for them prior and was a reputible 5 star company. Every vendor we used off their reccomended list was amazing! All and all I can't say enough good things about this venue - they truly made our wedding day the best day of our lives!!!

LOVED this venue, in particular, over some of the other similar venues in the same area. It was very much a one stop shop with endless of opportunities to tailor your big day to your vision, which was exactly what I wanted when I was planning my destination wedding. If you can stomach the hard balling of C. Thomas when talking numbers and settling your contract, the rest of the wedding crew at Watercolors (ESPECIALLY C. Walton & W. Alcaide) make determining every last detail of your wedding a true joy--even from across the country.

Cheryl Walton and all our vendors/hosts were extremely helpful, attentive and professional to work with. In addition, even with so many details and decisions to make, they made the planning and execution of our event "fun". Everything went according to plan and I enjoyed the experience. Watercolor Inn and Resort was the most wonderful place to get married. We chose to get married in Western Lake park in a gorgeous tree lined encircled park just over a scenic bridge that crosses the lake. The reception was on pool deck and was the perfect location for our 125 person wedding with band. We had a grand exit complete with a boat ride on the lake. There are several different venues to choose among on the resort to suit your personality and capacity needs.
The Watercolor staff is extremely attentive, professional and has an eye for detail. Our guests are still talking about how welcomed they felt and how impressed they were with everything from the food to the accommodations.
I would highly recommend planning a Watercolor wedding.

We could not inmagine a better place for our wedding! Our wedding coordinator, Cheryl Walton, was so professional, responsive and fun to work with. The staff that assisted during our ceremony and reception were so service-minded and friendly. The Chef (Wayne) crafted a beautiful and tasty menu tailored to our tastes and so many people said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. The wedding "staff" at Watercolor is TOP OF THE LINE. From the very first meeting with planners, the process in between, and the final night including chefs, bartenders, waiters, set up, communication, etc everything was done in the most perfect, professional way. Our reception with Watercolor exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend having your wedding/reception here. We worked directly with Cheryl Walton and she was absolutely perfect. She was on top of everything and knew exactly how to respond professionally but in a down to earth way that kept me calm during wedding stress and with questions that came up. During our reception she made sure we had a fresh drink of choice in our hands at all times, plated 2 dinners for us because she thought the first 1 got too cold while we were talking to guests, fixed my bustle that kept coming undone at the reception, and took care of a million other things throughout the night. I highly recommend working with Watercolor/St. Joe Club for a wedding event and working with Cheryl as your coordinator.

Joseph Lanzy was, in large part, what made our experience with WaterColor so fabulous. His warm personality, prompt responsivity, and willingness to go above and beyond were invaluable throughout our wedding planning and weekend. It's odd to say that you miss someone whom you knew for such a brief period of your life... but it's true! We love Joseph! :) The 4.5 rating on flexibility had to do with factors I suspect were beyond his personal control/say; with my husband working in the hotel industry (and bringing certain experiences/expectations to the table in this regard), we'd hoped for a bit more flexibility in the packages and pricing available to us. Nevertheless, Joseph always listened to our requests and did what he could to accommodate; we appreciate his efforts and cannot recommend him highly enough to those considering hosting a reception at WaterColor! The venue is lovely and there is no other place in the area that can compare with the Beach Club. Chef Shane outdid himself with the food and everyone raved about it. The service was outstanding and I am so thankful to the entire staff for making it a perfect evening for all!!

For most, your wedding is the biggest event that you will plan. If that's the case for you, consider yourself lucky. You're in fabulous hands!

Every time I catch myself thinking back to our "wedding week" I always have the biggest smile on my face. I contribute a large part of this to the amazing team that is assembled at WaterColor, but mainly Cheryl!

Cheryl will assist you in the details from start to finish and fight for you when its needed. She will even chase down your runaway Pastor. :)

The thing is, things will go wrong but how they are handled is what matters. Cheryl will make sure you and your guest are happy and have no clue what is going on. On your wedding day that's the best gift you can receive!

While this venue may not be the most cost effective, it's definitely the best option in the Panhandle. Choosing to get married anywhere else would be like not putting ice cream on your pumpkin pie! Everything from the welcome reception bonfire to the food at the reception was AMAZING!

I can say with 100% assurance the one thing that every guest will remember is the food (and alcohol of course but mainly the food).

If you decide to have your wedding at any of the WaterColor locations rest assured the food will be out of this world, the service will be top-notch and the location is STUNNING!

We had our ceremony at Western Lake Park and reception at the LakeHouse. Both are amazing and 100% recommended. :)

As soon as you know your date, book the venue (especially if you need welcome parties/rehersal dinners. The places fill quickly in wedding season).

Stop exercising/dieting 2 weeks before your wedding. It may not be enough time to get a last minute alterations.

Weddings in the park are very intimate and romantic. We are so happy we chose Western Lake Park instead of the beach. We were still able to take photos on the beach after the ceremony and they were stunning.

Have a plan...For your vendor day, have samples/examples of colors, flowers, and images you want. Start going through bride magazines to pull ideas and organize them in a binder.

It goes so fast...Take a moment to take it all in.

The rehearsal dinner we hosted at Fish Out of Water was fantastic. The restuarant is beautiful and we were fortunate to have perfect weather for our cocktail hour on the balcony. The 3 servers we had for the evening were outstanding!! They were professionals all the way, making each of our 50 guests feel very comfortable and giving excellent attention to details. The chef whom we met last fall was the reason we booked this venue. We had just walked into the restaurant with no appointment and he took the time to talk with us and show us around. The food he prepared was very creative, delicious and served at perfect temperature! The resturant manager was wonderful and worked with our requests for the event. I know he had two other large events going on at the same time!! The banquet manager was also very helpful, gave good advice and kept in touch with us for the planning. The 4.5 score is to let you know this venue is pricey but still well worth it. Thanks to the entire resturant staff for making the dinner so special.

Joseph Lanzy is amazing! Even though he was involved in so many weddings, he took the time to really get to know me as a bride and made sure that no small detail was over looked. Even from helping me when my veil got caught in the middle of my ceremony when no one else noticed!!! I would not have had the wedding of my dreams without his calming and positive attitude. He always knew how to make sure the vendors that I had chosen worked together to make a perfect product for me.

The one thing to note is that vendors in this area are hard to come by so they book up quickly and sometimes options are limited based on WaterColors approved vendor list. Just make sure to email Joseph and concerns and I'm sure he will put them to ease as he did mine!

Food at watercolor is amazing, venue cannot be more beautiful and the vibe was exactly what I had going for!

Everyone raved about the food, location, and service. Our wedding coordinator, Joseph, was absolutely amazing and made sure that our wedding was perfect. The property is gorgeous and the service is top notch.

Cheryl Walton at Watercolor Weddings was our wedding planner and I can't imagine how our day would have gone without her. Since it was a destination wedding you want a wedding planner who understands your vision. Not only did she get my vision, but I think she knew what I wanted my wedding to be like more than I did. We had a few bumps in the road that were out of Watercolors hands and they went above and beyond to give us the wedding of our dreams!! I would give anything to go back and enjoy the night again!

Although my daughter's rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception were held at Seaside, we had a day after brunch for our wedding guests at Fish Out of Water (Watercolor Inn & Resort.)
Everyone loved it! The food, service and staff were wonderful. Definitely money well spent.
Everything was beautifully taken care of.

WaterColor Resort has so many places to choose for your ceremony and reception. However, they do have certain rules and regulations that they are set on.

We chose to partake in the rehearsal dinner bonfire on the beach. It was a little pricey for two hours when they only supplied s'mores and bottles waters. But it was something different and our guests loved it.

The ceremony took place on the Western Park Green. It was beautiful.

The reception was at the Boathouse and catered by their local restaurant, Fish Out of Water. The food was amazing!

Both were great choices for a rustic wedding theme.

WaterColor provided a room at their Inn which was part of the wedding package for one night.

We spent a little more than expected based on certain set gratuities being added automatically and several upgrades prior to the wedding day.

This is a beautiful location and they have great event planners available. Ask for Joseph Lanzy!

Watercolor is a perfect location for a wedding. My wedding turned out beyond my wildest dreams. Cheryl Watson is absolutely amazing. We is always two steps ahead of the brides wants. The venue is expensive, but is worth every single penny. The food was absolutely delicious. Chef Lawrence really cared about what we wanted and made sure the menu reflected our desires. For the cocktail our, he made us creme brulee, crab stuffed mushrooms, oysters, rockafeller, and our favorite- martini glasses with whipped potatoes and braised short ribs. They also made a pasta bar with a variety of sauces, veggies, and meats for my guests with different tastes.

The bartender was magnificient. I would send Cheryl recipes for drinks and she would have the bartender make them until we found the perfect signature cocktail.

The staff was super nice and helpful. Cheryl has a wonderful relationship with their preferred vendors. I was a wreck the entire planning period, but when she says to trust her, you can.

Thanks Watercolor. My guests can't stop talking about our wedding, "the best wedding ever!"

The only thing that i would change was the coordination with the Accounting dept. Up until the day of the wedding, I was not sure that we had a zero balance. It is hard to get a final number from the accounting dept. Donna is very nice, but we wanted to pay the wedding off six months before and they had not posted all of our payments. I would highly recommend Watercolor, but make sure that you talk with the Accounting dept at least monthly to make sure the financial portion is in line with your balance sheet.

I could have not found a better place to have my wedding and reception! Cheryl Walton and the team at Watercolor were amazing and there was not one moment during the day/night of our wedding that they weren't there ready to help with anything that we needed.
We were so happy with the way the enitre day turned out and we were very impressed with the service of everyone at Watercolor.

A Magical Venue

This venue is absolutely incredible! The WaterColor team executed the entire wedding process seamlessly. I had a very specific idea in mind when it came to how I wanted our wedding experience to be and I am so glad that my husband and I chose to have our wedding at the Lakehouse. My husband and I do not live on 30A so this was a destination wedding for us. Of course I was nervous about the difficulties we might run into not being able to be close by, but it was never a problem. Response time for emails was a little slow during the busier wedding months so I recommend you stay proactive so that you can get responses by any deadlines you may have. However, as our big day approached we did not have a problem getting in touch with any last minute questions or concerns and they worked wonderfully with our month of coordinator.

All of their vendors were wonderful to work with and took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. The food was quite honestly the BEST wedding food we have ever had. Several of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed dinner and the cake. No one was left unsatisfied in the F&B department. As for florals/decorations, I felt like their vendor had stepped into my mind and made everything come to life! I had chills when I walked in to the reception area.

If you are looking for an idyllic waterside wedding venue that will make planning a breeze and give your guests a night to remember, this is the place!

My family has visited WaterColor for the last ten or so years during the summer, so WaterColor was an easy venue choice for me. After comparing costs from having a wedding in a major US city, WaterColor was very comparable when you add up all that you get in the price per person (especially in the winter). Something that was unique to me about having the wedding at WaterColor was that we had a whole week of memories there and our guests were able to get an experience there instead of only the wedding. We worked with Nina, who was outstanding. We asked her so many questions as we were planning, and she was quick to answer them. During our "planning visit" she scheduled every meeting, laid out what the wedding day would be like, and did a great job of giving her opinion from her experience when we asked for it or needed it, but letting my mom and I dream for the day and lay our our vision as well. She was great about communicating with us as our wedding day approached and made the most detailed schedule for everyone involved. We gave her the "personal items" we brought and had a wrap up meeting the week of the wedding, and then relaxed! She took care of everything else! The wedding day ran so smoothly, Nina was taking care of everything behind the scenes. We had our ceremony in the BoatHouse and reception in the LakeHouse...both incredible venues. The cake service you get with the package was wonderful. The food is by Fish Out of Water, our friends are still talking about how delicious it was. At the time we booked, we had to pick one of 3 florists they provide. We chose Events by Nouveau and they were wonderful to work with and made the venues even more beautiful. I couldn't have asked for anything else from Nina and WaterColor!

We had an amazing experience at the Watercolor Inn and Resort. Nina Dolin was our wedding coordinator and we couldn't have been more pleased. Nina was extremely responsive during the entire process which was about 6 months. She responded quickly to our questions and was there to guide us every step of the way. We wanted as stress free experience as possible and that is exactly what Nina provided for us. Nina was so good at providing suggestions and assisting us in decision making. The venue was absolutely beautiful and our guests are still talking about how wonderful the food was. We couldn't be happier with Watercolor and all of the staff. Thank you for making our day perfect!

We had the Rehearsal dinner and wedding
at The Watercolor Resort and were thrilled with both events. Our wedding planner (Cheryl) at the resort made the events a pleasure to plan. The food and service were excellent and I couldn't recommend a better place than the resort for any entertaining. We even had perfect weather!!!!!

My wedding at Watercolor Inn and Resort was absolutely perfect. Cheryl W, the wedding coordinator, pulled off a perfect event despite family drama, questionable weather and overall last minute confusion. We had several events at Watercolor from The Welcome Dinner (which was rained out from the Green and moved inside to one of the ballrooms), The Ceremony (at Western Lake Park), The Reception (at The Boathouse) and a Bonfire after the reception. All the events were almost perfect and I didn't have to worry about much once the ball got rolling. We are from Atlanta and this was a destination wedding for all of our guests.

We chose Watercolor because of the location and the beauty of the area. Altough the price seems steep (and their minimums stink - we spent way more that we planned just to meet the minimum required for each event), we felt that inclusive nature of their packages was the best value. We knew that we would get a quality event and were willing to pay more for quality.

The only negatives were: 1) I didn't always get timely responses. I joke that most of the vendors from that area are on beach time! I am used to almost immediate gratification when it comes to e-mails and messages. In all fairness, I was planning things way in advance, so an immediate response was not required. The closer we got to the event, the quicker the responses. 2) There was confusion about our guests reserving rooms - since it was Spring Break, the reservation desk tried to get our guests to pay for their entire stay in advance (vs. paying a deposit as it was explained to us). At least 5 sets of guests did not stay at the resort because of this. Unfortunately, we did not become aware of this in time to fix it - our guests already found alternate accommodations. Keep in mind that the reservatin desk is a totally different department than the wedding stuff, but they should make sure everyone is in the loop regarding pricing and reservations.

Another area of concern was that our rain plan venue (which was included in our package) burned to the ground a few months before the event. Watercolor called me almost immediately and was very responsive to our concerns and had alternatives available to us at no additional cost. We did have to move our Welcome Dinner to the ballroom due to rain, but Cheryl took care of that with minimal stress to us.

Finally, we stayed at Watercolor the week before the wedding and altough the price was A LOT more than I would usually pay, the resort is amazing and the service was impeccable. The night of the wedding, Cheryl made sure we had fresh drinks at all times, made sure she grabbed us a plate at cocktail hour, kept the event moving and made it easy for my change of dress (and delivered the dress and bouquet in a water/vase) to our room. We had transportation from the resort to the venues and back for photographs. The drivers were very courteous and professional. Overall, the ceremony and reception were beyond our expectations. We used Fishers Flowers and Gulf Coast Talent, along with Joe Ashcraft, the bagpiper (which was a surprise for my new hubby!).

In summary, Watercolor and Cheryl were WONDERFUL to work with and the event could not have been more perfect. Our friends and family can not stop talking about how beautiful and fun our wedding was!

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention the food (since I barely had time to eat), but we have received RAVE reviews about the food. Chef Wayne helped us prepare a wonderful menu - appetizers were delicious and we are so glad we chose the "strolling dinner". This was the BEST wedding food I have ever tasted and our guests seem to agree!

Planning a wedding from 2,000 miles away is never easy.... unless you're working with the girls at Watercolor! When deciding on a destination wedding location, Watercolor impressed us with just about everything. Upon first meeting over the phone-- they were attentive, responsive, and very easy to work with. We found that compared to other venues in the area, they also offered the most flexibility with vendors and the best options for ceremony and rehearsal sites. One of the biggest deciding factors to use Watercolor was not only the service, but also the sense of privacy Watercolor creates.

Fast-forward 8 months, our wedding at Watercolor far surpassed any of our expectations. The pre-wedding and day of coordination was supreme. Cheryl and Carolyn had every base covered. The food was FANTASTIC for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding. This is not "hotel" food-- this is 5 star cuisine! The setting also offered the most perfect weekend-- all of our family and friends loved the Inn, houses, and Watercolor amenities.

I'd recommend Watercolor to any bride...they really were fantastic throughout the whole process.

Fantastic venue, a few issues

First, let me preface this by saying that my now husband and I are so glad we chose WaterColor as our venue. We both have tons of responsibilities and commitments at our jobs, so the all inclusive aspects of WaterColor really appealed to us, and it definitely made our lives easier as we planned for our wedding. The venues that they offer are absolutely stunning, and the service is top notch and professional. We also appreciated their approved vendor list, which made planning so much less hectic than it might have been. Everyone had an absolutely amazing time at the ceremony and reception, and everything looked stunning. It was, without question, my dream wedding, and I was thrilled with how things turned out.

However, we did have a few small issues that prevent us from giving a full five stars. The most pressing of these is that about 10% of our guest list had special dietary needs, and not a single one received the special meal that they had requested (despite the fact that their names were on a list as having requested them). My mother, who knew that she was supposed to receive one, was able to ask the wait staff for hers, but others were not so fortunate, and vegetarians had to make do with the vegetable offerings (which everyone said were delicious) at the buffet. We felt fortunate that everyone found something tasty to eat, but for the expense, really wish that those with special needs had gotten what they had requested. And in general, there was a bit of an issue with communication, especially because it seemed like the dj had not been brought onto the same page as everyone else in terms of the timing of the event. For example, my father, as the host, was told to welcome everyone to dinner, but didn't realize he was supposed to give detailed instructions about what food stations were where, and was under the impression that this would be announced by the MC. However, it wasn't, so he was worried that there might have been some confusion. And when he had some questions for our planner, we couldn't find him, which led to some further confusion, as well.

Overall, though, I do want to emphasize that we were really pleased with this venue, and received so many compliments from our guests about how lovely everything was, how delicious the food was, and what a good time everyone had. And we ourselves had a fantastic time, and absolutely adored the ceremony, the reception, and the suite we were booked into for the wedding night. We recognize that no event is perfect, but were it not for the issues with the special meals and the confusion about the timing and instructions, ours would have been. And we did want to leave an honest review with flaws and all so that others can make informed decisions. (My husband told me to write the review I would have wanted to read, which I thought was very good advice!)

Yes, Joseph was great, and everything came together wonderfully. He was great on the wedding day and allowed us to enjoy our wedding. The food was the best wedding food I've ever had. And we loved our photographer.

Our only complaints with the band were stopping for a break when the entire wedding party just started dancing. And there were some songs played that were not supposed to be played.

Other than these everything was great.

An absolutely BEAUTIFUL resort! My ceremony was on the beach and the reception was in their courtyard. Guests raved about the inn - a small, 4 story, quaint (and VERY nice!) inn. I loved how modern but still fancy everything was! Staff goes above and beyond to make guests feel VIP. Definitely a GREAT place to have a wedding. Cheryl was very helpful in making my dream wedding come to life. Food is incredible as well.

Very happy overall with choosing to have our wedding at Watercolor. The pricing (while not cheap) was certainly competitive with other similar locations, and the food was AMAZING. Service on the day of the wedding was also great. Only negative was that the staff was not as helpful as they could have been before and after the event - they don't make it that easy for guests to book rooms. And overall there was a bit of an attitude - like we should have felt privileged to be having our wedding there - never mind what we were paying them and the revenue we were bringing in with all of our guests! For example, we were told not to buy an expensive suite at the hotel because we would be upgraded upon arrival - we got there and were given a 2nd floor room (the smallest upgrade there could have been) which wasn't thrilling (especially given that we had actually wanted to pay more to get a nice room and been told not to worry about it). Don't think you're going to get any perks or be treated like a VIP. Also, don't expect to be accommodated if you have any special requests - the wedding package structure is set in stone and the coordinators' roles are pretty much limited to (1) ensuring you follow the myriad of rules and (2) running the day-of events. After the initial introductions, you're on your own to deal with vendors (including all the last-minute confirmations), so it's not really the full-service wedding coordination package that it is presented to be. But if you can let the attitude roll off your back and be prepared to deal with last-minute issues yourself, it's well worth it to have use of the beautiful facilities. Even though there were some headaches, it seemed to be a more user-friendly choice than Seaside (which has even more rules and fewer options as far as locations, flexibility, etc.), and the food was top-notch, guests loved it - so happy with the choice overall.

Well, I will start by saying that our wedding at WaterColor was beyond our wildest dreams. It was absolutely beautiful and brought all our families and friends together for a wonderful weekend which will never be forgotten. The food was great and service at our events was excellent. That being said, it was a very expensive endeavor to have an event there with very little flexibility to the way that WaterColor operates. Cheryl Walton is a professional and worked hard to get every detail that we asked for achieved. I would highly recommend having a WaterColor wedding to any couple looking for a wonderful destination wedding that brings together people like nowhere else, but it definitely comes at a cost.
