I totally recommend using Melissa Stallman at Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe as your photographer for any occasion! The quality of her work is amazing. She photographed my wedding and i couldn't be more happy with her work as well as professional attitude. She gets 5 STARS from me! -

Melissa and Paul were great to work with. They really went over and above the call of duty to get as many shots as they could. They had a set schedule for the wedding day and we were able to stick right with the schedule because of their professionalism and great attitude and the ability to work with out huge wedding party. The engagement and portrait pictures were great and I cannot wait to see the final wedding package. I highly recommend this group. -

Melissa and Paul were awesome to work with and we are so happy with our pictures! We had to change our ceremony location day of the wedding and they were so flexible and helpful with the changes. They captured every moment! Looking at our pictures on the DVD is like watching a video! Even the men of the group (who don't like to take pictures) talked about what a great job they did. I highly recommend them! -

I cannot thank Melissa and her staff enough for how much they helped us and how easy they were to work with. My husband and I had a costume wedding on Halloween night but we were having a hard time finding a photographer willing to think outside of the box to capture some of the photos we wanted to take. Melissa took our visions and amplified them to a new level. She took extra time out of her schedule to scout locations that highlighted our costumes, reviewed my agenda to make sure we had time for the traditional elements and fun pictures, and traveled with us on a photo shoot around town prior to the wedding. Our friends loved the photobooth and commented on how much fun they had with the photographers. Melissa even made sure to take a picture of each couple as they entered the venue so that we would have a reminder of everyone's costumes.
After the wedding, Melissa worked with me to surprise our parents with photos from the wedding prior to posting them online for view. This meant so much to our families; thank you does not seem adequate.

Melissa was great! Our pictures were beautiful and make me smile every single time I see them. We also had our engagement pictures and my bridal portraits done with Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe. They were just as amazing. I have absolutely NO complaints. A definite must if you are getting married in Raleigh! -

Melissa was great to work with! She is fun and makes picture taking comfortable. Davis and I had a great time working with Melissa for our engagement session, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day. Melissa and her team were professional and easy to work with. Our engagement session pictures turned out fabulous and we know the wedding pictures will be even better. I will use Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe for other picture events.

Melissa and Paul are amazing. LOVED THEM AS MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. They were always aware of us and other couples getting those priceless pictures. We got all the group shots that we wanted and more. I love the candid pictures they captured throughout the night. I am so excited to see the whole packet. I have only seen the sneak peek, but from that I already can tell I made the right decision. They are creative, professional, fun and easy to get along with.
Also I used their Photobooth for the reception. It was Red which matched my wedding colors and the photo attendant was nice and made sure even the couple, US, got to enjoy the photobooth. The photobooth book gave us pictures and notes from all our guests.

Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe did our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and of course, our wedding photos. We could not have been more pleased! The photos all turned out beautiful! Our engagement photos were excellent- Melissa is so fun and easy to work with. For my bridal portraits, my mom and I had such a hard time deciding which ones to choose- Melissa has an amazing eye! On our wedding day, Melissa got an excellent mix of detailed, artsy shots, posed shots, and candids- and they all looked amazing! On the wedding day, Melissa went so above and beyond what a photographer is supposed to do- from being on the floor, fluffing my dress, to handling TEN rowdy groomsmen, to staying later than she was supposed to, just to capture our exit- she was amazing. My husband and I highly recommend Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe- you will not be disappointed!! -

We used Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe for our engagement pictures, bridal shoot and wedding! I could not have asked for a better photographer! Melissa was willing to give all of my ideas a shot and had tons of her own poses that we absolutely loved! Working with her was a pleasure and her assistant Cory did a wonderful job at our wedding! This was the first vendor we booked, a year out from our wedding date at the bridal expo. We booked them that day because we loved their personalities, the fact that we would get two photographers, and that we had rights to all the pictures. We also loved Melissa and Paul because they had experience shooting in our church, which has some strict rules about photography. The pictures are simply stunning and we will definitely be using them for future life events! They are a great couple and feel like friends when they spend the day shooting your wedding! They went above and beyond for us, capturing video footage of our wedding when our videographer didn't show. We are so grateful for having them as our photographers for our wedding day! -

Whenever I think about Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe- the first thing that comes to my head is AMAZING! The next things are wonderful, fantastic, excellent, professional and kind. We really enjoyed working with Melissa, Paul and Sean. Our guests kept commenting about what a great job they were doing. I love that they took a picture of every guest that was there. That is really special to have! They made sure to get all the shots we wanted and plenty of shots that we didn't even think of! They were not obtrusive like other photgraphers I have seen. You knew they were there- but they were never in the way. I would recommend Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe to EVERYONE! They are so friendly- you can't help but love working with them! I wish there was a way that you could add more than 5 stars...from the flexibility of re-arranging bridal portraits due to weather to all the different angles both Paul and Melissa got during the ceremony and reception, we could not have made a better decision than choosing Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe as the photographers for our wedding. Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe is the best! We had our engagement and wedding photos taken by them and couldn't have been more happy! They were with us the entire weekend for the wedding and captured every moment. They really captured "moments" instead of just smiling faces, and you can really tell this when you look at our photos. So many friends look through our pictures and say, "wow, i wish i would have had them do my wedding!" Our friends and family were so impressed.

From day one, Melissa and Paul were easy to get along with and listened to what we wanted for our wedding day. The engagement and bridal portrait sessions were extremely comfortable and enjoyable. They get great pictures because you're relaxed and confident. They truly make you feel special and you end up having a hard time choosing one picture to be your favorite, rather than trying to pick one that you like enough out of a bunch of OK shots. By the time you're done, they feel like friends. I would definitely recommend Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe as the photographers for your big day! -

Melissa and Paul were awesome! We have so many great pictures. They were everywhere but at the same time not in the way at all! There are wonderful pictures of the bride and groom, wedding party, and guests. We were totally pleased with them and would not hesitate to recomment them to others. Melissa and Paul are absolutely amazing photographers. They are the friendliest couple I have worked with and went out of their way to ensure that they knew all the details leading up to our wedding. Their prices were very reasonable and they run wonderful specials in the spring. We had a long distance wedding and they went above and beyond to assist us with scheduling our engagement photos as well as my bridal portraits. When it came time for the wedding they knew everyone by name and we had a blast working with them. -

Melissa did our engagement pictures first, she was so fun to work with, great with our dog and we absolutely loved how they turned out. Melissa and Arika were the photographers for our wedding day. They were absolutely amazing to work with! They were so professional and so fun! They went above and beyond the responsibilities of a photographer and were so on top of everything to make sure my wedding day went smoothly. We've only gotten our sneak peek pictures so far, but they were outstanding and we have gotten so many compliments and I am so excited to see the rest of them! Melissa did our engagement session about a week ago. We chose a place a little off the beaten path, well way off the path, that didn't slow her down at all. Melissa and Paul were great! My husband and I met them at a bridal expo and knew that we wanted them just by talking to them. We loved the idea that Paul worked with the groomsmen and Melissa worked with the bridal party for the before pictures and then came together for the ceremony and reception. They were very flexible and willing to extend the package to accomodate our LONG day. Their package included rehersal photos, which was a great addition to our photo collection. They offered one of the cheapest packages, and had more services than other packages in their price range. My husband and I knew that we chose the right photographers when we were at our reception and kept pointing out things to eachother that we thought were memorable or funny and then look over and see Melissa or Paul already snapping shots of whatever caught our eyes. Our guests kept talking about how great our photographers were and how hard they worked the whole night. We loved them and you will too! -

Paul and Melissa are easy going,smart, and truly have an eye for what makes a good picture. They were very calming influences on our actual wedding day. They worked tirelessly to snap hundreds and hundreds of pics capturing our key moments while the wedding party was getting reading, throughout the ceremony and reception;at the same time, they were never "in the way". I love that they printed out each and every proof for us to keep while deciding which ones would make it into the wedding album. It took a little while for our album to be created, but the wait was bearable and we felt very satisfied with the results. My husband and I plan to return to Paul and Melissa for important photo needs in the future. -

Paul and Melissa are wonderful photographers! They were willing to accommodate any request we made. Our wedding and reception were very close to their studio, so in addition to fabulous outdoor shots and indoor shots of the ceremony and reception, we took some priceless group shots inside their studio about an hour before the ceremony! -

Melissa and Paul are AWESOME!!! I can not express my gratitude for them enough. Not only are their pictures amazing, they helped out any way possible. My MOH's dress got a hole in it the day of the wedding - Melisa was the only one who could sew and fixed the dress 10 minutes before our ceremony!! She was a life saver. Our wedding director did not make our guest book a priority, so Paul volunteered to remind our guests to sign in; if Paul had not been there, my husband and I would not have had a signed guest book! Our wedding day was rainy, so our original plan of outdoor pictures at a park did not work. Meslissa contacted a local Bed & Breakfast, that was extraordinary, to have our wedding day pictures there. Our pictures at the Bed & Breakfast could not have been more beautiful. These are just a few ways Melissa and Paul went out of their way to make our day special. They have been great to work with and will go out of their way to make the most of your day. Our guests commented the entire night how friendly they both were - my grandmother LOVED Melissa.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND WAKE FOREST PORTRAIT SHOPPE. You can not go wrong with them!!! -

I have done nothing but rave about Paul and Melissa from Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe every time someone asks about our wedding experience. Their "Artbook" - a story-style retelling of our wedding day through pictures printed right on the pages themselves - is prominently featured on our coffee table, so the subject comes up often.
From our initial consultation, all the way through the book arriving at our house, they were courteous, prompt, professional, encouraging, enthusiastic, and best of all, FANTASTIC photographers. Having two shooters on sight clearly helped capture every moment. We really got 4 photo albums in one package - an artbook full of featured photographs, plus three more albums with EVERY photo they took that day.
The 4/5 on value is because we chose an expensive package. But what can I say? It was worth it. You get what you pay for. A+.

They were wonderful to work with and the pictures turned out beautiful! I loved that you could get a disk with the photos and add items to your package- we got an album with ours. It was great to have a session for engagement shots before the wedding to get to know the photographer (Melissa), really makes the hectic wedding day easier. They kept us on time and made sure we got all the pictures we wanted- even braved the rain!

Melissa, Paul and their staff were extremely personable. They provide beautiful work for a VERY reasonable price. Whether it was a photo shoot, our wedding itself or simply a meeting, their insight and suggestions along with a creative eye truly provided us with a wonderful experience and beautifully documented memories. At the wedding, the two photographers seemed to be EVERYWHERE, always trying to catch a shot of the action, while also capturing the smallest of details. They can be a little hard to reach and take their time on delivering work but this is understandable when trying to juggle a growing private business with a blossoming family. -

The photographs for engagement and bridal have been fantastic and the photographers at the wedding were also very friendly and professional. We have had a few minor issues with delays with the engagement & bridal prints being delivered in a timely manner and with the orders being complete (ie, paid for items that were not received and had to go back to them again to have them reordered - this happened on both orders). However, at the end of the day, the photos are all you have at the end, so we did go high end and have been very pleased with the quality of the work and would recommend Wake Forest Portrait Shoppe based on this. -

When I first met Melissa and Paul at a bridal show, I loved the idea of a husband and wife team. We booked with them in Feb. They failed to book my engagement session timely so we ended up having them in July, outdoors on a 100 degree day. She came alone to shoot, I was hoping they would both come so my fiancé could meet Paul and get to know him; after all he would be spending our wedding morning with the guys. Fast forward to bridal portraits on 9/9. I told Melissa I wanted the proofs so I could print my own photos and have them set up at the wedding reception for our guests to view. She didn’t get them to me in time so she offered to bring a couple 8x10s with her to the reception. She was the last one in the reception because she was with the wedding party taking photos, so our guests never got to view my bridal portraits! Wedding morning, she arrived with another female photographer… at this point it was clear to me that her and her husband were no longer working together, I felt that should have been communicated with me. Especially since that was one of the main reasons I hired them was because of the couple aspect. I told her I wanted to send Christmas Cards with our wedding photos on them, she said no problem. She didn’t send me the proofs until the week of Christmas; we never got to send out Christmas cards. She mailed our flash drive to the church, instead of our home! I went to the church to pick up the package, it was empty. Someone had stolen the flash drive. I went back and forth with Melissa via email. For all of our issues, she offered to give us an art book. It’s been 6 months since our wedding and I have still not seen an art book. I tried following up again and realized she changed her name, changed her company name, changed her website and email address. I would advise you all to make sure EVERY single thing she promises you is laid out and communicated from the beginning so you won’t be as disappointed and as frustrated as I am. -

Horrible - messed up on nearly everything promised in the contract
Melissa up so much in our wedding pictures. She gave us the files and they were thumb nails so we will never be able to blow them up and use them. When we contacted her about it she said she deleted them.. she also mailed our portrait books to the wrong address. When we finally got the books they were all wrong and messed up. It has been incredibly difficult to contact her. We can not recommend her and would instead recommend that people steer clear from her as a photographer for their weddings. It’s a shame that anybody can claim they are a professional and mess up so much. We only have one bridal portrait and if it gets messed up then it is gone forever. 5 years have gone by since our wedding and it still angers me. I would advise people to not use Melissa. There are much better real photographers out there that honor their contract. -
