Delicious cake and desserts!!

April was such a pleasure to work with and her cake and desserts are DELICIOUS! She provided free samples so generously so that we could get an idea of what we wanted. She was very helpful in deciding what desserts to go with as well and everything was so amazing that we got more stuff from her for my nephew’s first birthday. I couldn’t recommend April more!

We ordered cupcakes from Vanilla instead of a traditional wedding cake. They were very professional. They set up without a hitch and made the cupcake display look beautiful. It was delicious and easy on the budget!

If you want a piece of heaven at your wedding, you need Vanilla Pastry Studio! We chose 6 different types of cupcakes for our guest to choose from. So many people came up to me to find out the name of the bakery. Their cupcakes and so moist and the icing is so light and flavorful! They even included one single cupcake in a little box that said 'for the bride' since my favorite flavor didn't make the final list! I highly recommend Vanilla Pastry Studio for your big day!

I am a bit of a cake snob, and we tried quite a few wedding cakes before settling on Vanilla Pastry studio. The cake is absolutely amazing, so moist and flavorful, and the frosting is so sweet and so light!

Our wedding cake was gorgeous and delicious! It was a huge hit. They let me order 3 different flavors when they normally recommend only 2 (for ease of servers when they're placing the slices at tables). I love this bakery and highly recommend them.

I actually didn't even think of going anywhere else for cake :) We had some very specific flavor request since my (new!) husband is Austrian and we wanted to incorporate almond and marzipan into the cake. We also wanted something a little more sleek and urban looking to match with the vibe of the Renaissance. Vanilla delivered and delivered with NO HASSLE. We went to a tasting (delicious), we talked through our needs, we paid for our cake (which they will let you do in installments over time before your wedding, which is nice if you want to reduce how much money needs to go out the week of the wedding) and the cake looked and tasted amazing.

The cake tasting and planning was quick and easy. The cake chosen was beautiful, absolutely delicious, and the guests loved it and made comments of being the best! Adding a cake topper by her was easy, and the cake was exactly as promised. This is my go-to bakery for events.

Cupcakes display was gorgeous and exactly how we expected. The cupcakes were delicious as well. We had a small gluten free cake and some cupcakes and they were able to set up the display including these items that were from another bakery.

We also had some lollies in our order that were very delicious. I'd definitely recommend!

We always dreamed of having cupcakes for our wedding "cake." And wow, Vanilla Pastry Studio made the dream cake in my head a reality. First of all, if you didn't know, Vanilla Pastry Studio has been voted the "Best Cupcakes in Pittsburgh" award, and they are! Our favorite is the Vanilla Caramel flavor, so we knew we wanted that one to be front and center, and well, top (as our anniversary cake). We met with the owner April and tested many many flavors to find the other 3 flavors that would round out our assortment. We settled on Chocolate Fudge, Cookies and Cream, and Mango Passionfruit. I picked out which tower I wanted and they brought the cupcakes to the Children's Musueum of Pgh the day of the reception and set them up on the tower. The day before I dropped off our cake topper and little signs for the flavors (they didn't provide this, but who cares, I wanted something very specific so I made it myself :) They arranged it all perfectly. And I received SO MANY compliments on the cupcakes! I think a lot of guests had never been to a wedding with cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. Let me tell you, what a great idea. Four flavors to choose from, immense quality, and we saved a lot of $$$ (traditional wedding cakes are so expensive!) This is my favorite bakery in Pittsburgh, they did a great job, and I highly recommend them :)

Cake was delicious and beautiful. The tasting was really fun, we loved everything we tried but the almond batter really blew us away. I wanted a simple Swiss dot pattern and Vanilla did it perfectly. Vanilla came recommended when we couldn't get our first choice in bakery, and I have absolutely no regrets. It was a perfect wedding cake!

Ok, so maybe I gave Vanilla Pastry Studio the highest rating based on the fact that I'm obsessed with cake & cupcakes....but they really are amazing & we couldn't have been happier! My husband & I had a very small wedding, so we ordered their "celebration cake" & had about 36 cupcakes individually boxed. They were not only super delicious but our guests raved about them too. They have flavors like mint chocolate chip, & peanut butter & jelly, a few of the flavors that we ordered.

We wanted to do something a little more modern aside from the traditional wedding cake so we chose to do 4 flavors of cupcakes to have as part of our desert. They were a hit with everyone at the reception and looked beautiful. We took swatches of our wedding colors and bridesmaids dresses and they matched icing and sprinkles so everything coordinated perfectly.

April at Vanilla Pastry Studio was amazing to work with. Their bakery is located near our house, so we were frequent customers of theirs and knew we had to have our wedding cake from them. We chose two tiers of red velvet (which is the best I have EVER had) and April created a champagne flavored cake with strawberry filling for the other two layers. It was incredibly affordable in comparison to other places I looked and the taste was amazing. We had so many complements! I would definitely recommend them for any wedding dessert needs!

When you overhear your guests saying "that cake looks like something off of the 'Ace of Cakes' show" you know you've picked a great cake designer. I worked with Vanilla for a while on the design of my cake, but they made it what it was - truly magnificent! If you're looking for something unique, then I'd higly recommend giving April at Vanilla Pasty Studio a call as her shop is one of the best in the Pittsburgh area for any event.

Vanilla Pastry Studio was fantastic! My husband and I opted to feature 7 different flavors of cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies (in two different sizes) as our wedding cake/dessert for guests! We selected their: coconut, pumpkin spice, lemon, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate espresso, vanilla bean, and toasted almond. We had great reviews from our guests - who loved the variety and were so happy with each of their selections. They were a breeze to work with, and so accommodating! They adjusted my order at least four different times as our numbers and taste preferences changed, but were always happy to do so! We would strongly recommend Vanilla Pastry Studio for your wedding cupcakes!

April was great to work with.. within minutes she helped me figure out what i wanted and i had no clue where to start. She even added the bows i so wanted on my dress or all over the place on the cake.. in the perfect spot and how beautiful.

When we decided that we wanted to have a small cake for cutting and several flavors of cupcakes in lieu of a larger cake for our guests, we initially had our hearts set on Dozen. After a friend suggested that we taste April's concoctions at Vanilla Pastry Studio before making our final decision, we decided it couldn't hurt to give it a try... and it was love at first bite! The cupcakes at Vanilla blow all other Pittsburgh area bakeries out of the water. April was professional and accomodating, setting up a tasting session and providing us with all the advice we needed regarding which flavors are generally crowd pleasers, etc... and when it came to designing our small cake for cutting, she worked with us to design a simple but beautiful cake that looked as good as it tasted (and that's saying something!). Delivery was prompt and the cake/cupcakes arrived looking impeccable. Although the prices at Vanilla were a bit more than we had budgeted for our cake/cupcakes, the superior flavor, freshness, and service made the cost worthwhile.

We ordered cupcakes for our recent wedding. We went in for a tasting and had the option of so many wonderful flavors. We finally settled on the chocolate with fudge, vanilla with caramel, and lemon cupcakes. All were a hit with our guests--especially the lemon!! Our venue was about an hour and a half away from the studio so we had the option to pick-up the cupcakes and display stand from them and not have a delivery fee (which many other places did not give us that option!). They even made a small cake for the cake cutting for us--again in whatever flavors we wanted. If we lived closer we would go to the Vanilla Pastry Studio for cupcakes on a regular basis! We had many guests ask for our baker and their number!!

Vanilla "inherited" us after our original bakery closed 2 months before our wedding. They were wonderful to work with! We had a cupcake tower with a small cake for us to cut. Their fondant work and attention to decorative detail is incredible. People RAVED about how delicious the cupcakes were. I would definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our cake, and so did our guests. There was none left! Everyone asked where we got it because it was so delicious. The quality of Vanilla Pastry is unbeatable. I love that we were able to really customize our flavors and have something unique to us that I haven't seen at any other wedding - we had carrot cake and salted caramel and both were amazing! We wanted a very simple design so I can't speak to that as much. My one recommendation is that if you live out of town or the location isn't convenient to you, ask to do the initial meeting over the phone. We live in NYC so planning was a challenge as our time was so limited each time we were in town, and I voiced that to them over the phone so I thought when we met with them we could do a tasting, but it was just a discussion and we had to go back a second time for a tasting.

Vanilla Pastry studio makes absolutely incredible cakes and cupcakes. They provided the cupcakes and one small cutting cake for our wedding. In addition to being tasty, everything came out beautiful. I was surprised when the price was actually a lot less than what I was expecting. Overall, this bakery is fantastic.

My only complaint was very difficult to get in touch with the owner (who was handling our order) and I had to call multiple times over two weeks in order to get a call back. By the time I was able to talk to her (to increase the number of cupcakes we wanted and adjust a few flavors) it was very close to the wedding, a time when I many other things to do.

Vanilla Pastry Studio has fabulous cupcakes on a regular day so it was easy to choose them for the wedding. We went non traditional and did cupcakes instead of a tiered caked (saved money in the long run) and vanilla even offered cupcake stands for the display. The display was beautiful, the cupcakes were amazing and they were gone quickly! Yum!

We ordered cake and mini cupcakes from Vanilla Pastry Studio. The cupcakes were great--cute and great tasting, everyone loved them. The cake, on the other hand, wasn't aesthetically appealing. We got a naked cake and it just looked uneven in color and shape. The cake itself was dry and the frosting layers were tasteless. I don't know what went wrong, especially since the cupcakes were great, but I was disappointed.

Their cupcakes and wedding cakes are good and they put a lot of hard work into their cakes.

During the cake tasting and other meetings I felt rushed and wanted out of the store. Seem friendly but not very personable, only to who they know. They are very busy and everything seems to be rushed as far as sitting down and planning. They also need to update their wedding cake books, they are outdated and I would have liked to have seen a book of their work instead.

Overall I was very pleased with how my cake turned out but as far as personable and feeling like they cared, not so much.

The cupcalkes we ordered were very good. The only complaint i have is after the wedding we didn't return the cupcake tier. We weren't really aware we had to. We paid 75$ for delivery. At no time were we told that we would have to return the cupcake tray, no deposit was given for it, nothing . We left directly after the reception on our honeymoon. A week later, we come home and I have a message on my phone telling me that i practically ruined other people's wedding day because i had not returned my cupcake tier tray. The owner then proceeded to tell me that the tray costs $250 and that they had no extra. The transmission had gone in our car so we were relying on friends for a few days while we regrouped. I could not immediately return the tier so i was then charged another 25$ to have them retrieve the stand. The woman was so rude i was shocked. One, they should have more than one cupcake tier to service their cusomers. Two, if the tiers are that important than charge a deposit fee and express a return time frame. Three, don't blame your customers because you weren't completely upfront with the arrangement.

I hate to leave negative reviews because I always try to support small businesses, but this was the absolute worst experience I've had in a long time. On the outside, Vanilla seems like an idyllic sugar heaven, but inside... beware!! The cakes taste fine, but the unethical and totally unprofessional business people behind them will leave a sour taste in your mouth. To call their workmanship sloppy is overly complimentary, and they make it very clear that they have no intention of improving. Brides, you're dealing with enough stress as it is... don't add this one to your list! Couldn't be worse!!
