Where do we even begin? The Vandiver Inn truly made our dream wedding come true. From the moment we first toured the property, we knew it was something special — but what we experienced far exceeded even our highest expectations.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning — elegant, timeless, and full of character. Every space, from the ceremony area to the reception tent, looked picture-perfect and flowed seamlessly. The atmosphere was warm, romantic, and filled with joy — exactly what we envisioned for our day.
The waitstaff and entire team were phenomenal. Every single guest felt cared for, every detail was handled with precision, and the service was beyond exceptional. They truly made everyone feel special and taken care of throughout the entire evening.
But above all, we have to give the biggest shoutout to Courtney, our event manager and coordinator — she was simply the best of the best. From day one, her communication was thorough, timely, and incredibly organized. She always had a smile on her face, went above and beyond to help in every way possible, and made sure we never felt stressed or overwhelmed. Courtney guided us through the entire process with such kindness and professionalism — she was the calm, confident voice that made everything come together perfectly. We can honestly say our day would not have been what it was without her!
The Vandiver Inn team made everything feel effortless from start to finish. They handled every detail beautifully, and we were able to simply enjoy every moment of our day knowing we were in the best hands imaginable.
A written review honestly doesn’t do them justice — you have to go see for yourself. Take a tour, sit down with Courtney and the team, and you’ll understand exactly why we’re so passionate about them. The Vandiver Inn is truly one-of-a-kind, and we are forever grateful for everything they did to make our wedding unforgettable.

Dream wedding venue!
We were looking for a wedding venue that could host our closest family and friends for the weekend. We do not live in Maryland so were also hoping the venue would take care of a lot of the details for us— catering, dinnerware, decor, etc. The Vandiver was the PERFECT location! The staff, especially our coordinator Ashley, were so friendly, great with communicating, and detail-oriented. The food was incredible and they made our special day as low-stress as possible. We had our dream wedding, thanks to them. Highly recommend!

The best day ever!
I genuinely cannot say enough about how great the Vandiver Inn was!! We had the absolute perfect day, and we can't thank the team enough for all they did to make our wedding everything we imagined and more. Courtney was so great to work with as our event coordinator. Her communication leading up to the wedding day was excellent, and she went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and make us feel really at ease going into the wedding. The entire team was so efficient with decorating and transforming the space, especially between the ceremony and the reception. We gave them all of our decorations with minimal instruction, and they turned it into a space far more beautiful than we imagined. The food was excellent, and all of our guests were very impressed by the options. They even left us an extra plate and a bunch of desserts in our suite for after the wedding. The morning after the wedding, they had already finished all of the cleanup and put all of our stuff together for us to easily load up and take home. Overall, we were unbelievably happy with the Vandiver Inn. It was the perfect balance of elegant and upscale, with cozy and intimate. Thank you a million times over again to the entire staff at the Vandiver Inn, and especially Courtney, for all of their work in making our wedding the most perfect day!!

The perfect place for the best day of your life!
My husband and I had the most incredible experience getting married at The Vandiver Inn in October 2024, and we cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we knew this was the perfect place for our big day. We held our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception here, and everything exceeded our expectations.
A huge shoutout to Courtney, the wedding coordinator, who was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. She made the planning so easy and stress-free, and when the weekend arrived, she worked her magic to ensure everything ran smoothly. Courtney is incredibly talented and truly knows how to make a wedding day flow seamlessly. She kept everything on track, made sure everyone was in the right place at the right time, and set up many of our decorations herself, showcasing her expertise and eye for detail. The entire team at The Vandiver Inn was incredible! Their support really made the weekend feel effortless, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about making our celebration perfect.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The charm and elegance of the space created the perfect atmosphere for our wedding. And, of course, the food lived up to all the hype—delicious doesn’t even begin to cover it! It was also so much fun having our friends and family stay at the venue all weekend. The cozy, inviting atmosphere kept the party going long after the ceremony, and it was wonderful to have everyone gathered together in such a beautiful setting for the entire weekend.
We are so grateful for everything The Vandiver Inn provided and wish we could relive the weekend all over again. If you're looking for a beautiful, stress-free venue with amazing service, we highly recommend The Vandiver Inn. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Dream wedding weekend
Everything about the Vandiver Inn exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a stress free wedding — this is the place to do it! Leading up to wedding weekend, we met with Ashley to go over menus, decor, and other details.
Our entire wedding party and immediate family stayed onsite with us for the entire weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner that Friday night (food, desserts, drinks were a 10 out of 10). At the end of the rehearsal, I began setting up for the ceremony the next day. Ashley came over to me to see what I had in mind and told me to go enjoy my evening and that she would take care of everything. “This is what I love to do.”
Saturday morning, my wedding party was able to eat breakfast together and start getting ready for the big day. Between hair, makeup, and photos, I didn’t have a chance to peek into the venue space, which made walking down the aisle even more special. Ashley blew me away. I had an idea of how I wanted things decorated, but she knocked it out of the park. Through out the evening, she continued to check in with me, my husband, and our parents to see if we needed anything. Once the party was over, everything was packed up and ready for us to load the car up Sunday morning. We didn’t have to lift a finger the entire weekend. Oh and the FOOD. Everything was delicious! We are still receiving compliments about the menu a month later. We cannot recommend the Vandiver Inn enough!!

Beautiful Venue Exceptional Food
Everything was perfect, from the initial meeting to the wedding day. Excellent communication and professional service. Our guests still talk about how much they enjoyed the accommodations and food. From our names on the marquee out front to the food waiting for us in the bridal suite at the end of the night, it was the perfect wedding day.

Great Experience at the Vandiver
The Vandiver Inn made my wedding the best day of my life so far. From the first meeting, my husband and I felt comfortable and as if our ideas mattered. We worked with Liz, Courtney, and Ashley while planning our wedding. At no point in time did we feel rushed during meetings or as if we were a bother when asking questions. They made sure to answer all of our questions and contributed their own ideas. On our big day I didn’t life a finger. Ashley made our ceremony and reception amazing. She handled all of the possible issues big and small. If she wasn’t sure she called to get clarification. It really allowed me to relax and enjoy the getting ready process. All of the staff was kind and my guests couldn’t stop commenting on it, even after the wedding. I would also like to add that the grounds are absolutely beautiful and my guests loved the fire pits and garden.

The best wedding venue EVER!!!
We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding – it was truly the best experience we could have ever imagined. From the moment we started planning to the final clean-up at the end of the night, everything was flawless and stress-free, thanks to this incredible team and space.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning – it provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, reception, and every little photo moment in between. What truly set this place apart, though, was the amazing staff and our incredible coordinator, Courtney. They were so organized, thoughtful, and accommodating throughout the entire process. They listened to our vision, provided excellent suggestions, and ensured every detail was handled seamlessly.
One of the highlights for us was that the entire wedding party stayed at the Vandiver, transforming the celebration into a full weekend event rather than just a few hours. Having everyone together made the experience feel so intimate and special. From the night before to sharing a breakfast together the next morning, it felt like we were able to make memories with our closest friends and family beyond just the wedding day itself.
Set-up on the big day was smooth and efficient – it was as if they waved a magic wand and turned our dreams into reality. The clean-up process, which we had been dreading, was also handled so well that we barely had to think about it.
Every guest raved about how beautiful, well-run, and memorable the wedding was, and we owe so much of that to this venue and its team. If you’re looking for a place that makes wedding planning a joy and turns your day into a full, unforgettable weekend, I can’t recommend the vandiver enough. We are so grateful and will cherish our experience here forever!

Vandiver Inn was a great spot
Our event was great and well planned. The staff at Vandiver were friendly and executed there jobs flawlessly before and during our event. Our guests loved the rooms as well and the staff was thrown a curve ball when it started rainy and hour before the event. The inn was flexible and jumped right on the issue and we tied the knot inside the mansion on time. We enjoyed excellent tasting events and there is such a variety of foods to taste and enjoy with such a variety of flavors and concepts.

We had a perfect experience
Charming, wonderful venue. We had the wedding of our dreams. The reception area was gorgeous and the food was amazing. All my guest felt warmly welcomed and loved the accommodations. Our coordinator was a true professional, who was the greatest help in anticipating our needs and being an encourager. Perfect venue for the perfect day!
The Vandiver Inn was the best place for our wedding. We had a wonderful ceremony and celebration. Everything was set up so beautiful, and our coordinator was so perfect leaving up to and the day of the event. We had family stay at the Inn, and myself and the bridal party got ready there the morning of. It truly was the best day and everything went so smoothly thanks to everyone there. July Wedding
For the moment we walked in to tour The Vandiver Inn, we were met with kindness, competency, and good vibes. The venue itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated (not too much, not too little) and has a variety of options to help make your special day perfect. We got married in July (lovely Maryland heat and humidity) and were able to decide on an indoor or outdoor ceremony the week of our wedding. This flexibility helped us ensure all our guests were comfortable. We opted to do the indoor route in the pavilion. Courtney and the Vandiver crew ensured all our decor was set up and looked beautiful. The space was then quickly reset for our reception while our guests enjoyed a lovely indoor/outdoor cocktail hour in the gardens and main mansion.
Courtney, the owners, and all the other staff prioritized taking any and all stress of the bridge and groom along with their families. The reason I chosen the Vandiver Inn was due to the amazing staff and their ability to effortlessly manage so many elements of the wedding and planning process. We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the tastings with other Vandiver couples and meeting with Courtney to discuss and finalize wedding details. Courtney’s organizational skills and collaboration without other vendors ensured we had minimal stress on our wedding day and were able to enjoy ourselves. The food is absolutely delicious and there are so many options to suit every palette. Having the ability to stay at the venue was incredibly convenient for us and all the out of town guests. The rooms are nicely decorated and the breakfast included is phenomenal. It was a nice way to end the weekend by having brunch the morning after with out families. In the end, our wedding came together better than I could have ever imagined and it’s is all thanks to Courtney, Ken, Susan, and the other staff and vendors who helped a very type B bride pull it off.

Being in the catering business ourselves, selecting them was a no-brainer. 10/10 Wedding with the Vandiver
The Vandiver Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. Most of our guests traveled from out of state and it was excellent for them to have the opportunity to all stay together at the Vandiver. Bobbie and Bri were so accommodating and took great care of our family and friends. The venue itself is beautiful. Liz took care of everything. I can’t recommend choosing the Vandiver enough because of how much you get for the price. The food is top notch and all the set up and take down is done for you. It makes for a stress free wedding. There is nowhere else I would even think of choosing. Also, Havre de Grace is a quaint town for those that have not been there. Our out of town guests loved it

The perfect venue for our wedding.
We had our wedding at The Vandiver Inn. We can't recommend this venue more. We were in excellent hands, they helped make everything easy, and the wedding went off without a hitch. We can't recommend the Vandiver Staff enough. They're very passionate and fun, it's rare to see so many enjoy their job so much.
The food was incredible, the rooms were awesome. Everything was perfect and if you're thinking about having an event here you should do it.

I had my wedding here on 03/31/23. My day of Coordinator Courtney was amazing and went above and beyond. Highly recommend this Venue. It includes the ceremony place, reception place and catering. And it a Inn where you can book rooms and wake up at your venue. The food here is absolutely delicious. And all the staff are very friendly!

Fantastic Wedding Venue
We had a phenomenal experience with the Vandiver. We had originally planned to get married in fall 2020, which did not happen for obvious reasons. The Vandiver was so good at adapting to the changes and ever-evolving circumstances of the pandemic and helping us pull off a safe and magical event in 2021.
One of the best things about working with Ash and everyone at the Vandiver was how smoothly everything went on the day of the wedding. We didn't have to worry about anything. Everyone was so good at what they do and knew exactly what needed to happen and when.
The food was divine, from the appetizers to the entrees. Our guests raved about it.
The pavilion was perfect for a well-ventilated reception. It was the perfect atmosphere for mingling, and the garden was great for people who wanted to take a break from dancing.
I highly recommend having your wedding at the Vandiver!

Vandiver was the perfect historic venue for us. Pricing is straight forward and clear, they handle catering, alcohol, set up, and take down. Liz was the perfect wedding day coordinator; she was so patient with my many questions and made sure everything was beautiful. I can't say enough good things!

Let me just say, the value for the price of this gorgeous mansion is just amazing. The venue itself is quiet and quaint and maintained absolutely beautifully!! The food and the cake were delicious! They have so many options to chose from! Ashley was our wedding coordinator and she was a godsend. She put our decorations out, set everything up, made sure everything was just the way we wanted it. Don’t even hesitate to book this venue
I cannot say enough great things about the Vandiver Inn. As a COVID bride, I learned firsthand how important it is to book a venue that truly cares about you as a couple and wants nothing but happiness for your wedding day. The staff at the Vandiver were so accommodating when our day was cancelled due to COVID, and still let us use their space for a small ceremony. A year later, we came back for our full event and were blown away by their service and organization. Liz and John went above and beyond any expectations I had for the day and did such a great job with decorations and organizing the events of the day. It was so evident throughout the day that John would have bent over backwards to make it the greatest day possible for my husband and I.
Our guests continue to rave about the food that was cooked and served by the Vandiver. They also supplied our cake, which was exactly as we had asked and so beautiful and delicious. Not only is the space absolutely breathtaking, but all of the staff were so great to work and communicate with. The best experience ever!!!
What can I say about my girls Ashley and Liz! They are awesome women to begin with. They go through each and every little detail they can to ensure your day Is perfect!! We enjoyed our weekend there from the rehearsal to our ceremony! We did our own decor and Ashley was able to execute our dream perfectly! We would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone looking for a nice vintage feel for their wedding day! I wish I could do it all over again!!!! He’s ok with the first time though😊

The Vandiver is the absolute best wedding venue in the entire universe! As a wedding professional myself there’s no other place I imagined myself getting married. John and Susan are not only amazing at what they do but are also incredible people. Working with everyone at the Inn was wonderful and they made sure all of our wedding events went seamlessly. They are open and honest about all your options and work hard to ensure what’s most important to you is also what’s most important to them. The Perfect Wedding Venue!!!
Vandiver Inn was the perfect place for our wedding! Our wedding coordinator, Ashely took amazing care of us. I had a million and one questions from the time we booked the venue to the morning of our wedding day and she answered every single one and helped so much with the planning process. I know Ashley had dozens of other couples to help but she made me feel like our wedding was the most important thing in the world! We would not have had the wedding of our dreams without Ashley. Everyone at our wedding complimented the venue and the amazing service that was provided. Vandiver was extremely flexible with us when we had to make multiple changes due to covid-19. The biggest highlight to the Vandiver was every single person we worked with went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. Every person we worked with really took the time to know us and help us have the wedding of our dreams. People kept asking me if the bartender was a friend of mine because of how friendly and amazing he was but the truth is that is just how everyone at the Vandiver treats you, like you are a close friend. Vandiver is a gorgeous venue and the food was truly amazing. I can honestly say that the best wedding food I have ever had was at my own wedding because everything at Vandiver is homemade and so delicious. I can not believe how much was included with our wedding. Vandiver did everything and I mean everything. The only outside vendors I had to use were photography, flowers, and a DJ! Everything else Vandiver takes care of from setting up, to the cake, to the linens, to the bar service. For everything Vandiver does the price is unbeatable. I recommend booking rooms at the Inn for your wedding! My husband and I both got ready in two of their gorgeous rooms and all of our guests who spent the night at the Inn were amazed. Vandiver Inn is a stunning wedding venue, with delicious food, and outstanding service. There is not one single thing we would have changed about our wedding and Vandiver gave us a wedding more beautiful than we ever thought we could afford.

Perfect from start to finish!
We booked the Vandiver 16 months before our wedding, and it could not have been more perfect. From first contact with Chasi to their up-front pricing and coordination, the booking process was seamless. We also met the owners, John and Susan who were absolutely lovely. Once we were booked we were transferred to Liz who coordinated the actual event and I was continuously blown away by the level of service we received from her even before the event. Liz was absolutely flawless from start to finish. The day of the event was perfect and it was really all thanks to her (with the help of the wonderful front -desk staff and others I know!) So many things I didn't even know about until the day after or days after and so many things I didn't even think about were taken care of before I had a chance to even wonder about them. The banquet staff was a ton of fun also- we got some really fun pictures of them dancing with our guests. It's such a great feeling to know that the staff enjoys working here! I can't say enough great things about this venue. We can't wait to come back and hopefully stay for our anniversary! Also- before I forget, the food was AMAZING! Thanks to Chef Susan, John, Liz, Chasi and the whole crew for an unforgettable weekend!!

My husband and I cannot recommend Vandiver Inn enough as a venue. From the moment we met with Chasi to discuss wedding possibilities and toured the grounds, we knew this venue was for us. The staff are like a family and make you feel at home. From the planning stages to the day of the wedding, we felt completely taken care of. While our original day of coordinator went on maternity leave (Congrats again Theresa!), our backup, Ashley, stepped in and took over as if she was there from day one. Ashley made sure the entire day went smoothly and according to schedule. Our rambunctious family came in the night before the wedding to stay and the Vandiver staff (especially Kim) were accommodating and entertaining. They took everything in stride and became one with our family. During the reception, our families were excited that the staff celebrated and danced with us. One staff member even helped teach guests (and the bride) how to Wobble! We were beyond pleased with our experience here, have gotten so many compliments on the venue, and we will be returning for our one year anniversary!

Excellent Experience at Vandiver
My daughter had her wedding reception at Vandiver Inn on a beautiful October evening. Vandiver Inn is an exemplary reception venue. The setting at Vandiver is gorgeous. The historic inn gives the feel of going back in time, and the garden and reception space are lovely. From our first meeting at Vandiver to tour the venue, the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and competent. Through out the planning and execution of the reception our wedding consultant, Ashley, was remarkable. She was attentive and met any need that we presented. During the reception the servers at Vandiver were exceptional. Everything ran smoothly and on time. We stayed overnight at the inn, and the rooms were not only charming, but also very comfortable. The food at the cocktail hour and reception was phenomenal. Everything was mouthwatering and cooked to perfection. Our guests raved about the Vandiver and many commented that it was the best reception they had attended. Most important, though, my daughter and son-in-law had a truly magical wedding day, which was largely due to the quality of the staff and facility at Vandiver Inn.

September Wedding
I will never be able to say enough good things about the Vandiver Inn. Every single guest commented on how helpful and kind the staff is. We worked directly with Ashley, Liz, and Theresa, and our entire day was flawless. My husband and I went into our wedding day without a single worry because we knew we were in good hands. The food was amazing, and they had many options for our guests with food allergies. The second we walked into the Vandiver for our first meeting, we knew that’s where we were getting married. The venue is so gorgeous, inside and out, that we didn’t even have to add any extra flowers as decorations.

The Perfect Wedding Reception
We had our wedding reception at the Vandiver last July and it was absolutely perfect. The service was excellent and Liz made sure everything went smoothly. She was a wonderful wedding coordinator and easy to communicate with as we planned our wedding. We were able to truly relax and enjoy or special day because we knew we were in good hands! The staff even set aside food and drinks for our cocktail hour just to make sure we didn’t miss out on anything. All of our guests raved about the food. We had the chicken picatta and salmon with the roasted potatoes and vegetables. I was hardly able to eat dinner due to all the excitement from the day, but was pleasantly surprised when the staff saved us two plates for later. The cake was the best wedding cake I’ve ever had. Our guests still talk about how great that cake was and how fun our wedding was!! The timing of everything was perfect and I recommend the Vandiver for a wedding reception 100%!! It was so fun and special having our friends and family all stay at the inn together. If we could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Literally the best.
Seriously the best place to have your wedding. We had a short time-frame in which to plan this (military pains), and we absolutely could not have done it without Vandiver. They took care of just about everything, and our assigned coordinator (Theresa) checked in constantly throughout the whole process and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent (go for the goat cheese ball appetizer -- seriously), and Theresa was attentive to our needs the entire evening.
You'll have the thought that it'll be cheaper to buy your own alcohol, price out caterers, and negotiate with other companies over table/chair rentals, but the price is right here, and you have to consider the pains of actually coordinating all those moving parts on the day of. Our family and close friends could relax and have fun the entire weekend because they didn't have to worry about setting up tables and centerpieces. Vandiver staff take care of it all for you.
Not only is this venue practical, but it really is beautiful. It has that great vintage charm, and it looks magical in the pavilion at night. The rooms are very nice.
We could not have asked for a better location and staff. If we did everything over again, we would not change a thing.

Amazing Venue with Amazing People!
We recently got married in June at the Vandiver Inn and it was such a wonderful experience! We originally met with Chasi to tour the facilities and we received such a warm welcome that it really made them stand out among the other places we had toured. The pricing was much more reasonable as well. We worked with Liz Lange to coordinate all of our event details - and she was also there on-site throughout the wedding weekend to ensure all the details were carried out. I cannot say enough great things about Liz! She seriously went above and beyond and rocked it the day-of. As the bride, I did not feel stressed in the least during my wedding day. She even bustled my dress for me when it was time and helped my now-husband put his boutonniere on lol! Liz is awesome - and so is literally every other person working there - so courteous and accommodating. And the food was absolutely delicious - we loved it - and also received so much great feedback from our guests about the food, the facilities and the staff. I hope one of my friends or family members gets married there so I can go back and enjoy another event with them!

Such a beautiful location and amazing staff at Vandiver!
We were amazed with how convenient Vandiver Inn was, with how inclusive all of their services were. The mansion is a beautiful bed & breakfast that our family had for the entire evening, night and were even provided breakfast the next morning. The provided food for the reception, a delicious menu with such a variety! The bacon wrapped scallops were only a sampling of the amazing chooses we had. Liz, our coordinator, handled everything for us on the big day and the months leading up until. She did an incredible job and we're confident that we wouldn't have been able to get things setup without her. Vandiver pulled double-duty for us, as a venue for our ceremony and our reception. We were able to mingle throughout the house during cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception while things were flipped and setup. Super convenient! Such a hassle free wedding and we felt zero stress about the day and getting prepared. It was so beautiful and perfect. Liz even made sure we had some food and cake waiting in our room at the end of the night in case we were hungry again! Thank you so much Vandiver and all those working behind the scenes we didn't get to meet!

Vandiver Inn was the first and only place that we looked at when we started our venue search because we knew we didn't need to look any further. Vandiver has everything you need all-in-one!
The staff have been nothing short of amazing and very responsive. Theresa was so sweet and worked with us to make our day successful. Everything ran smooth and on-time without any problems. We had made white pumpkin centerpieces with a range of purple, teal, and white flowers and foliage coming out of the top and I didn't even THINK to do what she did and have them line the ceremony chairs down the aisle. That was a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much Theresa!! You thought of allllll the little details the day of and made everything perfect!

The 5 stars allowed for this review are not enough to describe our experience for our daughters wedding at the Vandiver Inn. From the initial consultation and planning to the end of a phenomenal weekend cannot say enough positive things about John,Susan, Chasi and especially Theresa and the entire staff at the Vandiver. We discovered this gem 5 years ago and immediately decided that if we were fortunate enough for our daughter and her boyfriend to marry, the Vandiver would be the perfect place and we were 100% correct. In addition to the incredible Vandiver staff, the vendors they recommended and have close relationships with were awesome too. DJ, florist, photography and cake were amazing and we were extremely happy with them all. One of our many hopes for the wedding was that the bride and groom , the bridal party and parents could sit back, relax and enjoy the day and not worry about micro managing everything. That’s exactly what happened as Theresa and the staff took care of it all leaving us with nothing to do but to have a truly great time and dance the night away. With ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and lodging all in one location the Vandiver was definitely the right choice for us and the work of the staff made it that much more right. We find ourselves searching for more superlatives to describe our experience, how happy we were and how highly we would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a magical wedding day or any kind of event to have it at the Vandiver Inn.

Our experience with The Vandiver was exceptional. The venue is gorgeous, pretty much selling itself, and then you have the wonderful Chasi who really seals the deal. I wanted to do as little as possible so their “all-inclusive”-ish options really had me sold. Liz was our coordinator and we loved her. She was very relatable, was always available and honest. The week of the wedding Liz was always checking in, seeing if I needed help with anything. I showed her our decor and she made it come to life, everything looked beautiful. All of my friends and family said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The FOOD. Omg the food...food was a huge selling point because, well, I love food! Believe these reviews about the food. It’s fantastic. All of the staff is wonderful at the Vandiver. Liz was on top of everything, last minute changes we made, etc. Our party went out after our reception and once we got back Liz had prepared our room with ou gifts, some decor, two plates of food and two pieces of our wedding cake - it was the perfect scene to come back to on our wedding night! Choose the Vandiver you will not be disappointed!

I need more than 5 stars to accurately reflect just how fantastic the Vandiver Inn was for my April 2018 wedding. From the moment I first corresponded with Chasi to ask about pricing and availability, I was met with a warmth and kindness that was carried through all of my experiences at the Vandiver and with everyone who works there. Liz Lange was our coordinator, and she executed our wedding day exactly as my husband and I sketched out with her in advance. She was wonderful to work with during the planning process and at our actual wedding, and I'm very grateful for everything that she did for us.
Highlights from our wedding that make the Vandiver worth more than 5 stars: Renting out the entire Mansion and rooms in the other two houses for bridal party and family members -- It gave us the entire weekend to enjoy the time with our loved ones without the hustle and bustle of traveling to/from hotel and venue; Having the food made in-house, and having Susan as the chef -- Not only are guests telling us that the Vandiver served the best wedding food they've ever had, but we are also hearing some say that they ate the best filets of their lives at our wedding; Having the wedding cake and baker included with the venue; Benefiting from the property's aesthetics -- Every space inside and outside looks different, which results in incredible wedding photos; Working with kind people who made us and our guests feel at home during our wedding weekend -- The staff is simply outstanding.
Get married here! :) 10/10 my husband and I would get married here again, and we even joke about having a second wedding at the Vandiver because we enjoyed ours so, so much.

Perfect! The Vandiver Inn was not only the best choice we made for selecting our wedding venue, but it is now somewhere we plan on visiting for years to come. We found the Vandiver on the Knot and instantly fell in love. Once we got a chance to sit down and meet with the staff to look about booking it, we knew this was it. There was not one aspect of the Vandiver that we did not fall in love with and our guest agreed. We cannot recommend them enough and will be back for as many of their specialty dinners as possible. If you can, check this place out, eat here and i guarantee if you will find it to be as special as my wife and i do.

My husband and I got married here on 3/24/18 and the moment I walked into the Vandiver for the first time I absolutely feel in love with the place. Upon seeing the pavilion I could immediately picture getting married there. The entire staff from Chasi who was willing to meet with me multiple times before I even committed to getting married there, to Liz my wedding coordinator, to Kim the innkeeper, the entire staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. They made us feel like we were part of the family and not just guests. Chasi and Liz were always very responsive and willing to answer any questions that I had. It was extremely helpful that the Vandiver has everything you need in one place. They literally take care of everything and their preferred venders list was very wonderful when it came to picking venders for services they don’t provide (DJ, photographer, hair and make/up...). All of the venders on the list were amazing and had worked at the Vandiver a million times which made for easy communication and coordination. They worked their timelines out with each other instead of me having to do it, which reduced my stress and allowed me to just have fun and enjoy my day. The venue is gorgeous and the food was delicious. Our entire wedding went off without a hitch. It was a wedding out of a scene from Gilmore Girls!! Our experience couldn’t have been better and my husband and I are already planning to return to the Vandiver just to spend the night and enjoy its charm!

The Vandiver Inn is a wonderful place. Theresa, our day of coordinator handled business on our wedding day and all the planning up until the wedding. She is awesome and so is all the staff at Vandiver. I loved that all our bridal party and out of town guest could spend the weekend at the inn, from the rehearsal to morning after breakfast. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and the Vandiver was the perfect setting for us! If you want to have great food, good service, beautiful scenery and work with wonderful people then definitely consider this venue!

I'm going to start with the food: I have severe, very specific dietary restrictions due to a chronic condition. My husband is vegan. Not only did the Vandiver Inn create mouthwatering meals that we could both enjoy, they made sure to literally bring me food that they had prepared with my needs in mind. They were always checking in to make sure we had eaten. And that's just the food! The location was beautiful, the suite that we stayed in was gorgeous, and they even made us breakfast afterwards. They took care of everything. Best of all, it was incredibly priced (especially for the service!).

It is hard to put into words how amazing the Vandiver Inn is. From the day we booked the venue to the very end of our wedding weekend, the Vandiver was awesome. We had Liz as our coordinator and she was great. We went with all of her recommendations for the outside vendors and she nailed it. I felt like I could trust her judgement on everything. She was quick to respond to all my emails and text and was able to meet with me multiple times before the wedding.
The wedding weekend was amazing. The mansion is so unique and it was just what my husband and I were looking in a venue. It was such a warm intimate space, perfect for our winter wedding. We had soo much fun and I feel like we did not have to worry about anything. The food was awesome. Kim, the innkeeper, took care of us and everything we needed the whole weekend. My husband and I both honestly say it was the best day of our lives. We are so excited to return for anniversaries and future Vandiver events.

After visiting the Vandiver Inn and seeing the beauty and comfort in person, I fell in love with the idea of having our wedding there. Everything went perfectly with the help of our event planner Theresa! She made sure that the 2 days we spent there (for the rehearsal dinner and wedding) was flawless. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the cozy rooms throughout the inn. As the bride & groom, we didn't have to worry about anything for those 2 days as it was all taken care of!

When I walked into the pavilion at The Vandiver Inn I got chills, this was exactly what I was looking for. Now don't get scared that I said pavilion, it has full HVAC and electricity.
Our day of coordinator, Liz, was a god-send - and she was included in the cost of the venue! I think that was one of my favorite things about working with the Vandiver, there was no nickle & dime-ing us. Everything was included! And yes, there were up-charges for certain things, but they were upfront about everything unlike some of the venues that I visited before I saw The Vandiver.
I also loved that the entire event was in the same location. We had the ceremony in the pavilion, the cocktail hour within the first floor of the mansion, and then back into the pavilion for the reception. It's also a bed&breakfast so the wedding party stayed at the Inn the night before the wedding. That made it a lot easier for getting ready too, we were able to bring in our hair & makeup girls so we didn't have to worry about leaving the venue.
The wedding day itself was magical. We woke up and the girls & I had breakfast in my room while we got beautified. Even had a mimosa bucket in our ready room. Since Liz was there, we weren't interrupted with logistical questions. She took care of everything for us. We did a first look so we could take advantage of the sun light (November Wedding= early sunset), and the spaces that they had around the Inn were perfect for the first look and photos.
After the ceremony, my husband and I went away for the "sunset sneak-away" and they had some hor'dorves packed up for us to take with us. Such a nice touch! The dinner that was served was delicious. But honestly, everything that I had tried there was amazing.
I couldn't have picked a better venue and I would totally recommend The Vandiver Inn to anyone looking for a wedding (or even party) venue!

From the moment I sent an email to The Vandiver Inn and spoke to Chasi, I knew this place was a dime a dozen. My family, husband, friends, and I were all so happy with the venue. From the Inn Keeper to the staff , to the owners & chef, to Chasi and Liz. It all was an amazing experience. They made me feel at home and were very ontop of it all. The venue itself is beautiful with its rustic and vintage setting. Having the ceremony in the side garden was my dream come true. Such a lovely set up between 2 vintage houses. Ladies and Gentlemen this place is where you should have your wedding if you want a one of a kind day !

My now husband and I were lucky enough to get married here Sunday October 8th 2017. And to say that it was amazingly perfect is an understatement. We could not have gone with a better location than we did. Liz and the team at The Vandiver made our wedding seriously the most perfect day of our lives. From beginning to end it was amazing. We have been working with Liz for what seems like forever now and she was always on top of everything and willing to help. She made the day possible and made it run so seamlessly. We could not have done it without her. And honestly she is probably the reason I was so calm the morning of because I knew that I could trust that it was going to be perfect. On top of being amazing at all she does she is seriously the sweetest person. And I am super grateful that we had her. All around the team at the The Vandiver made the day of amazing. The service was fantastic, the rooms were beautiful, and the food was impeccable. I definitely do not have enough words to describe how amazing the food was. And while I may be biased we are still hearing from our guests how amazing they thought the food was. The Vandiver seriously made our wedding day even more amazing and magical than we could've ever asked for. I am so grateful and thankful that we chose them and will highly recommend them to everyone. I cannot wait to celebrate future anniversaries here.

The vandiver inn was a great venue for our wedding! Our coordinator Liz was amazingly helpful and answered all our questions. Everything the day of our wedding went extremely smooth. Their staff is very professional and really friendly. There food was amazing and our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food and venue.

We got married in late June 2017, and I cannot recommend the Vandiver Inn more highly. The wedding coordinators are all so on the ball and seriously make your wedding day incredibly seamless and stress-free. It felt like magic - everything went perfectly. All of the staff treat you so well, and the innkeeper even learned all of our names. They made things feel so personal and specific to us, even though they have weddings there regularly. It felt like the whole place was there just for us. The food was incredible - definitely above average for a wedding. I'd recommend when you pick your menu, stick to the more simple items. They have fantastics simple dishes. They even adjusted one of the dishes as per our request (they switched out a sauce that was listed on the menu with a dish for a sauce my husband loves).
I was actually a bit nervous because I had sent so many details of the day-of via email and then I had a few more in person the day before. I couldn't believe that the coordinator actually remembered each and every one of the notes I discussed with her. It was absolutely incredible.
When we got back from our after party, we had cake and full plates of food in our room. We were treated so incredibly well, and the venue itself is beautiful. It looks gorgeous in photos. The venue feels personal enough and is already decorated enough so that every photo looks lovely, and you don't really have to bring any decorations with you! It's good to go as is.
They also had a very reliable, high quality vendor recommendation list. I relied on it, since I wanted to use vendors that were as close to the venue as possible (didn't want to have to contemplate the possibility of a vendor getting caught on traffic on 95 or something) and they all were fantastic.
It's also hugely helpful that everything is included. And they really do mean that. EVERYTHING is included. So affordable too!
Beautiful, wonderful venue. Book here and you'll have a load off your mind.

After a year and a half of planning, we can honestly say that no other venue would have compared to the Vandiver Inn.
The staff is exceptional - starting with the food - everyone raved about chef/owner Susan's cooking, especially the crab cake! We knew after our tasting that we were in for a treat. All of our attendees were delighted. They also are very courteous in catering to those with food allergies and restrictions. They made sure myself and 3 other speciality guests were taken care of without problem!
Then the coordinating.. Liz is an expert and made our wedding run smoothly and look beautiful from start to finish. I bombarded her with emails towards the end of the planning process, and she made sure all of my concerns were taken care of and she knew just how to handle any issues that arose. She handles SO many details and logistics behind the scenes and makes it look simple! She was really a huge help in making sure our day was wonderful.
The venue is located in a beautiful town that is within walking/driving distance to the water and lighthouse. The history and different rooms inside the Vandiver are enough to keep guests occupied while staying overnight or mingling during cocktail hour. We held our wedding and reception under the covered outdoor area - a perfect pick for our rainy and 60 degree September wedding day. If you are looking for a unique venue with charm, the Vandiver is the perfect pick that will keep your guests talking!

There is a very good reason this venue has a perfect rating. Everything from initially touring this venue, to the tasting, to the support and assistance in planning... These guys made it so easy and hassle-free. We never had to chase them down on anything and they took care of EVERYTHING. Weddings are the Vandiver team's passion and it shows.
On the day of our wedding, we had to make the call early if it was going to be inside or outside... We made the call to go outside but when the time for the ceremony came, it was pouring! Liz and her staff did an amazing job outfitting the pavilion in order to host the ceremony at a moments notice. They really saved the day and it all came together perfectly.
The reception was everything we had hoped it would be as well. The common theme we heard from all of our guests was that the food was incredible. The wait staff and bar tenders were also very accommodating. As with all weddings, we had some last minute unknown dietary restrictions and the Vandiver team made sure everyone's orders were prepared accordingly.
Beautiful venue, exemplary staff. If you are on the fence about which venue to select, rest assured that if you choose the Vandiver, you have made the right decision.

The remainder of the staff was a dream come true. They impeccably took care of my guests. Major shout out to Kim, who even came back to our room around midnight to help us figure out how to switch the ac unit on. She handed out welcome bags to all of my guests, made sure we all got hot meals in the morning, took photos of us on the steps the day after… ugh, cannot say enough nice things about Kim! Every server, every bartender, every busser… they were polite and smiled every single time they encountered someone. I think they were having as much fun as we were! Plates were cleared immediately, waters refilled, new silverware, cake served, coffee offered. The bartenders were the two most delightful people – I hope you two tie the knot soon! Ugh.. and Susan!!!!! Susan is the owner and chef to the Vandiver. You could throw a dart board at her menu and have one of the best meals you’ve ever had. The woman has serious skills and takes great pride in her craft. Food is so typically a bummer at weddings and it is just not the case at the Vandiver. We went with a buffet style and people were going back for thirds they enjoyed it so much.
Bottom line is we couldn’t have been treated better. John, Susan, and everyone else.. you had better have us back as “Vanbassadors” so we can keep raving about how perfect you made our day. We love you all like family and see ourselves popping in for hugs real soon.

The very best decision we made was to have our wedding with the Vandiver. I don’t say “at the Vandiver” because it’s not just a venue. We didn’t show up, set up and leave. We were welcomed, we were helped every single step of the way and we were sent off with hugs, kisses and memories of the best day ever. After having experienced what it is like to be a Vandiver bride, I can say without hesitation that I feel like our day was 10 times better because it was with them.
After seeing the Vandiver and then another 20 or so Maryland venues, we knew it had to be the Vandiver. As a one stop shop, using local ingredients and local privately owned business, we couldn’t have felt better about the environmental impact of our wedding and the ability to put money back into the community by shopping small.
You start off by meeting Chasi, who is the most bubbly and beautiful person on the face of the earth. She shows you around, makes you feel wanted and that you are worth her time. Next, you get a planner. In our case we had Liz, who must have a cape hidden somewhere that I don’t know about because this woman is seriously a hero. Throughout the entire process, she made sure I was totally informed and, even more so, that she knew exactly what my very type A vision was. Day of, literally any and everything I asked for, she was there. Liz anticipated my needs before I knew I needed them. Shes even a world record holding professional bustel-er which comes in real handy when your juggling flowers and prosecco on the way to your reception. Im kidding of course, but I sincerely I owe this woman the world. She made it effortless to be a bride, which is not something I say lightly! Even coming back from our Laurrapin after party to a massive plate of food and piles of cake to munch on at 1 am that she had set out for us… the woman is a damn rock star.

Before I booked this venue, I thought that everyone must give 5 stars very freely, but boy was I wrong.
The Vandiver Inn was beyond perfect. Liz was completely responsive, professional and flexible. When I panicked because I did not know how to put my cathedral length veil on, Liz came to the rescue. When the pins for my bustle accidentally were removed, Liz never panicked and grabbed some pins to fix it herself.
I am not the most creative. Last minute, I found some decorations I wanted to use. Liz found spaces for all these decorations and the result was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I DIY'ed my own centerpieces which were birdcages filled with lights and greenery. Liz thought it would be awesome to also use them during the ceremony to have them line the aisle. As my bridesmaids and I were getting ready in the beautiful Tydings room, she brought up a picture to show me the result. Liz never got flustered once and made me feel relaxed.
The food is incredible. My family is from NJ and we are self-appointed "food snobs," but the food blew us away. We chose to have beef tenderloin with horseradish sauce, crab cakes with brown butter shallot sauce, and chicken stuffed with prosciutto and a sauce I cannot remember. We had green beans and caramelized onions as well as garlic smashed potatoes. The onion soup with Gruyere toasts was also exceptional. We filled the mansion and the two houses next door with friends and family members. In the morning, my family and friends joined us in the main house for a delicious hot breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. They all raved about the beauty of this B&B.
My only concern heading into the wedding was that the reception had to be over by 8:30. We ended up planning an afterparty at the Laurrapin which was tons of fun! I was happy the party could continue in a fun bar nearby.
We returned to our rooms with two pieces of cake and a plate of food from the reception. THANK YOU STAFF AT THE VANDIVER!!

Our situation was rather unusual and quite stressful, as my daughter's original wedding venue closed its doors two months before her wedding! However, once she decided on a new date and chose the Vandiver Inn as her new venue, we felt we were in very capable and caring hands and that everything was going to be alright, after all. They say everything happens for a reason and this situation is proof-positive, as everything from beginning to end was absolutely PERFECT (after having only 5 months to pull it all together)! Even the weather cooperated, as we were blessed with spring-like temperatures and sunshine on February 18th!!! The food was delicious and the table settings were beautiful. Liz, our wedding coordinator, handled everything flawlessly and professionally. I would highly recommend the Vandiver Inn to anyone who wishes to have a very beautiful and unique setting for their wedding, one that brought rave reviews from all of our guests and bridal party!!

Choosing the Vandiver as our Venue was the perfect choice. We made the decision to go with them after an amazing "tasting dinner". We felt so comfortable and had so much fun at that event and that was how we wanted our guests to feel at our wedding. And that is exactly what was accomplished!! All of our guests had fun and loved the atmosphere created by the employees. We were married in January, so the ceremony and reception were in the pavilion. Everyone, including myself, was amazed how the space was transformed during the happy hour, it was magic.
Personally, I believe that the best thing about the Vandiver is that it is really a family owned business. Every employee that we encountered really cared about us and made our wedding guests feel welcomed. We had many guests with dietary restrictions and I had several of them tell me later how they were impressed with how the wait staff would check ingredients for them and inform them which hors d'oeuvres were free of gluten, soy, dairy, etc.
Our wedding coordinator, Holly, was indispensable. She really did the work of 5 people on our wedding day. She made me (the bride) feel pampered all day, made sure that my husband and I had enough to eat and drink and even wrapped up 2 slices of cake and dinner entree for us so that we could snack when we returned to the room that night. She and another coordinator Jo made the wedding planning process much easier, responding quickly to many emails! It was a perfect venue, the food is great, and the staff is first class.

What can I even begin to say about the Vandiver? From our first meeting up until the last moment of our wedding, we could not have picked a better venue. We worked with Jo the entire time, and figuring out every last detail was as easy as pie. It is now over two months past our wedding date (10/15/2016), and I still have guests telling me what a fabulous time they had. They make it SO SIMPLE. The food was delicious, the venue is absolutely gorgeous, and they are there every step of the way to guide you. Worth every single penny!

I will never regret choosing this place to have my wedding. The Vandiver Inn made my wedding magical. The staff there is beyond courteous. I felt like family from the very start of the wedding process to the very end. The price is unbeatable for what you get. Everything is included with this venue and what they don't provide, they give a list of their favorite vendors. They partner with Desserts By Rita for your wedding cake and it will be the best cake you've ever tasted in your life. They also cater for the wedding with their own in house chef (the owner). I always think of bland stuffed shells and dry chicken with catering but this food was immaculate! It was the BEST food I've ever eaten at a wedding, or just eaten ever! They even had a plate of food waiting in our room at the end of the night and some cake! :D My husband and I will be returning for a stay on our one year anniversary.

We had an amazing experience having our wedding at the Vandiver Inn. We wanted a smaller, rustic wedding and the Vandiver perfectly fit our needs. We knew we had found our venue in our first meeting with Chasi. We loved the charm of the inn along with the pavilion. Just as important, Chasi laid out exactly how much everything would cost, which was a huge help as we were just starting to figure out our budget. One thing that really stuck out to us was that the Vandiver included everything in their initial estimate. We didn’t have to worry about outside vendors for linens, chairs, food, etc. Everything was taken care of on-site. They even provided the cake.
From the food tastings to the open house to finally our wedding day, we were taken care of extremely well by the staff at the Vandiver. We cannot recommend highly enough the job that Liz Lange–the event manager assigned to us by the Vandiver–did in making our day happen. She was very warm and professional and quickly responded to all of our emails in the months leading up to the wedding. She walked us through the whole process and gave us confidence that all of the details were covered. On weekend of our wedding, there were two other weddings at the Vandiver (we had ours on Sunday). As an example of how Liz went above and beyond, she met our wedding party at 9:30pm the night before our wedding (after working a wedding that day) to walk us through the rehearsal.
On our actual wedding day, Liz had everything covered. She made sure we were fed, our glasses were full and that all the details were taken care of. She worked very hard to make us feel special and appreciated on our big day.
Overall, we had an amazing experience at the Vandiver and Havre de Grace. It was the perfect setting for wedding weekend.

I don’t know where we should start. The food? Beyond amazing! Everyone said it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. The property? So many of our guests and family were blown away by how beautiful the property was. I cannot even tell you how many times people asked me how I found the venue, as if I’d stumbled upon some secret society. The staff? If anything went wrong we didn’t find out about it. Which is exactly what you want on your wedding day. Attentive, thoughtful, and friendly…just wow! The ‘day-of coordinator’? This is where I start to get emotional, because Jo who was our day-of coordinator was beyond amazing and went above and beyond any expectation I had in my head. Even my photographer said she wished she could clone a Jo for every wedding she worked. Among all of the things I expected out of our wedding experience, I did not expect to walk away with feeling a loss knowing I no longer had an excuse to bother Jo. She is amazing! And Vandiver Mgmt, if you’re reading this, you need to know that though the property and the food were amazing, it was Jo that helped make our day be more perfect than we could have imagined. I cannot gush enough about her…so I should probably stop! Prospective brides/grooms…if you’re searching for a venue that feels warm, has delicious food, and truly cares that you’re happy in the end, look no further than the Vandiver Inn!

We had our wedding at the Vandiver Inn this past weekend and it was amazing! Jo, our wedding coordinator made it an unforgettable experience. She was organized, friendly, and kept everything on schedule. Living out of state, the planning process was stress free thanks to her. Many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the staff and how welcome everyone felt during the entire events (ceremony and reception). The food was delicious! It was even better than we remembered from our tasting event. We came home from our after party to find cake and leftover dinner waiting in our room. Our wedding party stayed in the mansion, along with extended family who stayed the two other houses. Everyone enjoyed their stay, and the breakfast was phenomenal! Kim served breakfast in the morning and made sure that everyone was happy and fed. Our wedding weekend was better than we ever could have expected! We are so happy that we chose the Vandiver Inn!

I don't know where to start to explain how incredible the Vandiver is. They had everything we were looking for (outdoor/indoor ceremony options, in-house catering, day-of wedding coordinator, lodging) at an incredibly reasonable price. Several people commented that they had "the best wedding food ever," not to mention they make the day easy for the couple (no need to worry about 'assigning' someone to save you food or get you drinks, or worrying about coordinating with your other vendors, or even putting out table numbers, the Vandiver takes care of all of that!). Jo, our coordinator, was incredibly nice, helpful, and extremely responsive on email. We had some difficult personalities involved in the wedding, but she took everything in stride and made the day lovely for everyone. The venue itself is beautiful and quaint. I can't imagine a better place to get married - huge thanks to the Vandiver for a perfect day!

This venue is worth 5 stars in all categories! From our initial visit to days after the wedding, the staff did nothing short of going beyond their responsibilities. At our initial meeting with Chasie, we were offered a beverage upon our arrival then were given a tour. Chasie was bubbly and made me feel like she was personally interested in our vision for our wedding. Even though she sees tons of brides, she made me feel like I was the biggest deal the Vandiver has ever seen lol I was given a coordinator who was always responsive to my emails and questions. The food was OUTSTANDING. The atmosphere was awesome for our large group. I was standing on the back porch at one point and looked out at all of our family and friends enjoying themselves by the firepits, on the dance floor, and admiring the neat victorian house. Our wedding was 9/24/16 and we are still getting phone calls and message from our loved ones saying how great of a wedding it was. Not only, did the Vandiver Inn exceed our expectations in regards to the wedding itself, but they also were over accommodating with our stay and our guests. They even made an exception and let our pup stay for the night! Which meant the world to my husband and I. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. If you are going for a unique atmosphere that's not a tent or ballroom, then this is where you want to be. I assure you that you and your spouse and loved ones will be so pleased with any event that is held here.

From our arrival at Vandiver, we were enchanted by both the location and the staff. After visiting many other venues, this was the first venue that made us feel like they actually cared about us and had an investment in our wedding. They were completely upfront about cost and what was included from the beginning and the support and responses we received throughout the planning process was nothing short of extraordinary. Our coordinator, Liz, was actually handling a double workload (covering for one of her coworkers) but you would have never have known it. She somehow seemed to still treat us like we were her only clients. The venue is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff is friendly yet professional. I think everyone should get married here. And if you are already married, book a room at this beautiful B&B for a nice weekend stay.

Finding the Vandiver Inn felt like finding a hidden treasure. I'm a transplant from NJ, living in MD with my now husband for less than 3 years. When we got engaged, I didn't want to plan a wedding from a distance in Jersey. I was constantly searching venues in MD and found photos from a wedding at the Vandiver. I immediately fell in love. The charm and antique feels from this place was exactly where I pictured myself saying "I do".
Our wedding coordinator, Jo, was absolutely amazing. Extremely professional and always on point. She knew exactly what was happening when and kept everything on track. On the day of our wedding, she was exactly in the right place at all times, getting us food and helping put everyone where they need to be. Also, helping my mom with her dress! :) Truly, all the staff was amazing. We booked all the rooms at the inn that night and everyone loved it. PS. The food was DELISH. We highly recommend this venue & can't wait to go back and visit.

My daughter just got married here this month. The wedding was amazing. The Vandiver Inn is such a unique and beautiful mansion and place to have your wedding. We loved it and they did an amazing job with everything from the ceremony space to cocktail hour to the reception area. Everything was just beautiful. The venue was perfect and no other place would have done. Our wedding coordinator Liz did an amazing job decorating the ceremony and reception space just as we wanted it and even above and beyond. Chief Susan did an amazing job on dinner and all the cocktail food. A wonderful place to get married!

I knew once we walked into the Vandiver Inn it was where I wanted to get married, and it was one of the best decisions we made. They took care of so much for us so we were able to actually enjoy our wedding day, and eat the delicious food (which we have gotten so many compliments on)! Jo is phenomenal to work with and worth her weight in gold, she orchestrated the best day of our lives. The venue is absolutely stunning and the employees are so friendly and eager to help, and the food is out of this world. There are not enough ways to complement them!!!

Just got married here on August 6, 2016! Was the best day I could have asked for. The Vandiver makes wedding planning so easy and painless! It includes cake from desserts by Rita (AMAZING CAKES), tables, chairs, silverware, food, a day-of coordinator, served meals (or buffet if you choose but we had great servers), and all around amazing service! The price is great for everything that they include in the package. We had about 100 guests and it was very comfortable! I have no complaints about the Vandiver and neither did any of our guests! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Chef Susan is an AMAZING cook and there are millions of options for dinner! We had the best day ever and it was so beautiful! I wish everyone would just be smart and get married at the Vandiver!

The staff at Vandiver is absolutely astounding. Vandiver was the only venue we visited when venue shopping and we were not disappointed from the start. If you want a stress free big day, there's no one who does it like the staff at Vandiver. Our coordinator Liz went above and beyond to make every request happen. I had boxes of decorations and wedding odds and ends for her to add to the bid day; she set everything up with no questions or directions given. It was all perfect! I had eaten nothing all day, but she made sure that we had an opportunity to sample foods during cocktail hour. She also provided drinks to us throughout the day. We booked a room to stay in that night and that was one of the best decisions we could have made. Liz brought all our gifts upstairs as well as made sure my dinner was waiting for me up there along with slices of cake. All vendors that needed to speak with me or see me that day were sent right up to the room by amazing staff members. After a long day of family and friends, staying there over night was such a relief. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful and had tons of options. We got to eat on the deck in front of the marquee with our names still on it. Our stay at Vandiver was beyond beautiful, stress free, and helped us bring to life all of our wedding dreams.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Vandiver and we are absolutely, immeasurably astonished by the amazing care and professionalism displayed by the staff of the Vandiver. Our coordinator was Jo, who was such a pleasure to work with. Right from the start, she went out of her way to accommodate us with any change we needed, whether it be lodging, food, or general inquiries. We were definitely not the easiest clients to have, but Jo was never phased. She would do anything she could to help us out. When it comes to the day of the event, she knows exactly what she's doing - she had a drink in hand when you need it, and food right when you needed it. She worked wonderfully with our vendors. Jo's communication skills and on fire attitude are exactly what you want on the big day! We couldn't have been happier with her performance. All the while, she went above and beyond by tidying up behind me and the groomsmen to prepare for my honey and I to come back to a nice clean room after the wedding and she even left us food and cake in the room because she knows how busy you can get at your wedding, leaving little time to eat. Overall, the Vandiver is a place that treats its couples like FAMILY. You feel as if you are the most important people in the world to them. I cant say enough about this venue. I will be recommending that any of my friends in the area get married at the Vandiver Inn. I really feel that all our guests would agree too. They all complimented the venue, ceremony, and reception. We partied all night and then kept partying in town from all the hype :) thank you a million times over Vandiver Inn! Can't wait to be back for our anniversary:) or earlier!

We visited several venues before finding Vandiver Inn. As soon as we walked in, we knew that it was the right venue for us! The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We actually felt more like meeting new friends who helped us organizing our big day than being treated like customers. Jo Chase is absolutely amazing! From the very first day, she was involved in every step, she kept us on track, communicated all the planning details with us clearly without making us feel overwhelmed. On the wedding day, she was by our sides with everything we needed, even before we knew we needed it. All of the employees were very friendly and accommodating, making sure our wedding weekend went as smoothly as possible. And on top of all of that, the food was incredible. Chef Susan is a fantastic cook, and nobody left the wedding with an empty stomach. We strongly recommend the Vandiver Inn to anyone looking for a flawless, fun, and well-organized wedding day or weekend!

Vandiver Inn is an amazing venue! We searched long and hard to find a venue that was intimate, beautiful, organized, and cost-effective. It hits all those marks! They provide the food, alcohol, linens, rooms, and wedding coordinator. Plus, all the staff service costs are built in and everyone gets a living wage, which was important to us. It is the perfect one-stop shop! We only needed to find a photographer, DJ, Florist, and Officiant. Vandiver provides recommendations so this becomes even easier. Once the planning starts, you're contacted by your personal wedding coordinator for the process. Jo kept us on track over the course of the year – providing deadlines and reminding of us things we might want to include on our big day. She was always calm, helpful, efficient, and warm. On the wedding day, Jo made sure all our decorations were perfect, ensured everyone was on time, handed off corsages and bouquets, got champagne and dinner for the newlyweds, made sure we breathed, and add her own personal touches to everything. She did all of this under the radar and without notice. She came to the aide when our wedding guests got too tipsy, worked perfectly with our vendors, and made adjustments for last minute family requests. We are sincerely grateful to Jo for all she did! But the entire weekend was wonderful. Kim in reception made my family feel so at home! We received so many compliments on how warm and friendly she was. She made everyone feel special. The food – prepared by Susan – was just right. We were below our guaranteed minimum and they added apps and drinks to our final menu to add value. They really care! Our day was perfect. We can’t thank the team at Vandiver enough! Vandiver Inn provides a really wonderful, high-quality, intimate wedding venue. So glad we chose them!

I planned my wedding here and because of that I believe it reduced my stress level at least in half... They take care of almost EVERYTHING on site. lodging, ceremony, reception, food, cake. They gave me a list of preferred vendors and worked with my Budget. The day my Wedding came my Wedding Coordinator handled every little detail... she was truly amazing and was there with food or drinks whenever we needed. She also helped look out for our 1 year old son who was a little fussy that day. They went ABOVE and BEYOND for me and my husband and our guests. They made our wedding day so unforgettably amazing. Not even the rain could bring our moods down.

As soon as we walked through the door if the vandiver and met the staff we knew this was where we wanted our wedding. They make you feel very comfortable and they guide you throughout the whole process. You can customize your wedding depending on your budget. They were definitely the more affordable choice location. But we loved how the venue has a vintage romantic feel. We would recommend this place over and over. My husband's a chef so food was so important and the food was to die for it was amazing. The staff is super sweet and helpful. Jo was amazing I literally didn't have to worry about anything the day of if I asked about something she would have it done. When we came back to our room after the wedding she decorated it just for us and has dinner and desert laid out in case we were still hungry. It was beautiful. Bars close by to go out after the wedding which we did. A lighthouse and waterfront area 3 minutes up the road for beautiful pictures.. we did our first look there it was so beautiful. It was like a stop shop they took care of everything and our day was perfect all thanks to Jo and the vandiver. I can't rave enough about this place! We love ot!!

My husband and I were married on March 5 at The Vandiver Inn. Our entire experience was amazing and practically seamless. Jo and her team are amazing and did everything to ensure we had the best day. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about the entire evening. The venue is beautiful and has so much character, the food was AMAZING and the lodging accommodations were great! The team at Vandiver Inn exceeded every one of my expectations from the beginning days of planning my wedding till the last dance ended on my wedding day! Words can’t even express how fabulous every person is that works at the Vandiver Inn. In the beginning stages of selecting a venue, Chasi was wonderful to work with. She did a great job showing us the many features of the Vandiver Inn and was always available to answer any questions we had before signing our contract. We had our food tasting with a group of brides/grooms who were also getting married in the upcoming months. We had such an amazing time meeting other couples and tasting delicious food. I had heard others rave about the food at the Vandiver Inn, and they were exactly right. All of the food that we tasted was absolutely amazing. The owners, John and Susan were fabulous at the tasting. They came around to each table to speak with the brides/grooms and were so very friendly. We were blown away by how much fun we had at our food tasting. When we met Jo, our wedding coordinator, I knew we had selected the perfect venue for us. She was amazing from start to finish and always made us feel like our wedding was important to her. Any questions or concerns I had, she quickly responded and made me feel at ease. Jo went above and beyond on our wedding day. She coordinated all of the vendors and solved last minute problems without me ever knowing about it. I can say I honestly did not have to worry about one thing during my entire wedding. Jo and her team handled everything behind the scenes. At the end of the night, Jo was kind enough to wrap up extra food for my husband and I to have later that night. We had barely eaten anything during the wedding because of all of the excitement, so it was so nice to enjoy the food later that night. I can honestly say my wedding day at Vandiver Inn was absolutely perfect and everything I dreamed it would be thanks to the amazing staff that works there!

Choosing the Vandiver Inn as our wedding venue was the best decision we made for our wedding. Having the ceremony and reception in one location made things easy for everyone, especially our guests. We also had our wedding in the winter and both the mansion and pavilion were well-suited for the cold. Working with Jo was great as she was responsive and professional in all our meetings. She helped us stay on track with our planning and made sure everything went smoothly during the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. The venue itself was beautiful the day of the wedding. The staff at the Vandvier were professional and friendly. Our guests loved the food served at the reception, with one noting that it was probably the best wedding food he’s eaten. We really enjoyed having our wedding at the Vandvier and we would definitely do our wedding there if we had to do it all over again.

The Vandiver Inn is the perfect location for an outdoor garden and vintage style wedding and had so many aspects that made our wedding day very special. Upon our first visit to the Inn, we met with the wedding coordinator, Jo, who was very caring and hospitable. We knew immediately that the Vandiver the place for us. Throughout the entire process, Jo took care of us and helped us with every detail. On our wedding day, she was with us all day to ensure everything went smoothly, whether it was setting up, lining up the wedding party, coordinating with our DJ and photographers, or even bringing us a drink when we were too busy to get one ourselves. Jo is one of the many wonderful people who worked tirelessly on our big day. John, the co-owner, was present the entire time to help out and direct our guests. Every staff member of the Vandiver was extremely courteous and helpful.
The people are just one of the many reasons why the Vandiver is so great. The venue is gorgeous. There is a covered pavilion in back that was perfect for our ceremony and reception. The food is incredible. Susan, the other co-owner, is an excellent chef and uses fresh and local ingredients. Uur guests raved about the food and the Vandiver as a whole for months after our wedding. The Inn has many rooms, and it was very convenient for our family and bridal party to stay at the Inn for the weekend. Havre de Grace is a quaint, pretty town on the water, an ideal location for a wedding. I could go on and on, but I’ll just say that my wife and I were so happy with how everything turned out. At the Vandiver, you are treated like family. It’s really hard to find a venue that has everything you want: great people, beautiful location, excellent food and service, all for an affordable price. We found it all at the Vandiver. My wife and I live near DC, and the Vandiver was considerably more affordable than anything in DC, yet had much more to offer. Schedule a visit and see for yourself!

We are so happy we chose the Vandiver as our wedding venue. Having the food, drinks, ceremony, reception, and day-of coordinator all in one place made our lives so much easier. Jo was our coordinator and she was an absolute life saver. On the day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about anything because she was totally on top of every little detail. The venue was beautiful, the food delicious, and the day went incredibly smoothly. Jo made sure my wife and I got to eat all of the food, including bringing food from the cocktail hour out to us during formal pictures. She also made sure we were never without a drink. Our wedding was so fun and went so smoothly thanks to Jo and the Vandiver!

I found this venue on wedding wire and hope that another bride to be reads this reviews and just goes to visit this amazing venue. I know once you visit and meet the staff, you will decide to have you wedding there. It only gets better as you near you wedding day. The staff, the service, and the atmosphere is amazing. So many of our guests just raved about The Vandiver to us.
Lets talk about the food. It is amazeballs. Food was really important to me and we were not disappointed. When we went to our first group tasting, I was blown away with the flavors but there was a little bit of bridal nag that makes you wonder if that greatness can be replicated on your actual wedding day when so much going on. They hit it out the park, our guests raved about the food. They took care of our friends that were vegetarian and/or kosher.
Liz ( our co-ordinator), Chasi, Jo, the chefs/owner, and the front and back of house staff will take care of you and your wedding.

After reading other wedding wire reviews my fiance and I decided to go check out the Vandiver, we loved it instantly - a beautiful historic inn with staff that immediately made us feel like family. We signed the contract the next day after bringing my parents back to also look at the inn and pavilion. The Vandiver's wedding service provides many services which eliminates the need for individual vendors. Not only were they our venue but they also provided: ceremony chairs, tables for DJ and cake, all catering & bar services, all tables / chairs / plates / dishes, all set up of the ceremony & reception, cocktail hour music & waiters. Most importantly part of the deal is you get a Vandiver Wedding Coordinator. We worked with Jo and we absolutely loved her.
Once we had our contract set up, Jo contacted us with "some things you need to know" lists, "next steps", "recommended vendors" (you do not have to use their recommended vendors) etc. Jo was constantly available by email or phone to answer questions. Just having someone who knew what they were doing and to run things by really helped alleviate my stress that I was forgetting a crucial step.
Tastings - wow, this was a wonderful experience and let us see how the Vandiver handles events as they set it up as a mock wedding with other couples. and the food is to die for - not your typical wedding fare.
At our rehearsal Jo was there to work with our officiant to make sure the rehearsal went as planned and to gather all my centerpieces and other decorations and items that the Vandiver would need to set up the next day. On our wedding day everything went smoothly - if anything went wrong the Vandiver absorbed it and no one knew. We even had an extra plate of dinner and extra cupcakes in our room! We loved our experience and would gladly have other events at the Vandiver.
I could say so many more wonderful things but only so many characters allowed!

Words cannot express how happy we are to have selected the Vandiver Inn as our wedding venue. Their reputation is known in the community and it is well deserved. From the moment we started the planning process the staff at the Vandiver have been wonderful. Everyone on the staff, from the owners to the events coordinator, made us feel very comfortable and cared for through out the entire process. John and Susan, the owners, were very kind and easy to talk to. They each took an active role in our wedding day. John helped ensure that our wedding flowed smoothly. Susan, who also was the chef, created a delicious menu for us and it was presented so wonderfully on the plate. We heard many great reviews from our guests. Chasi, the sales representative for the Vandiver, was very helpful and held such a positive attitude as we toured the venue and made the decision about our date/place for the wedding. She provided us guidance and advice as we selected our date. Jo, the director of events, was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was quick to respond to my emails and crazy questions and she always provided genuine, honest advice when decisions were hard to make. Jo was amazing. I cannot say enough about her or the Vandiver Inn! As a teacher it was helpful to that the Vandiver Inn works with many of the other vendors in the community. They have the wedding contract to include a cake from Desserts by Rita. The staff at the Vandiver Inn truely helped us plan our day and ensured that it went on with no problems. We highly recommend them for weddings but also just to visit.

We fell in love with the Vandiver after our very first meeting where we learned all about the venue. There was never one second where we thought twice about hosting the most important day of our lives at the Vandiver Inn! Plus, the food is insanely delicious. Everyone associated with the Vandiver truly makes your wedding planning process enjoyable and seamless. I had no worries throughout the entire planning process, which is so amazing! And then, when it came time for our wedding day, we were absolutely blown away. Every expectation was somehow exceeded, and all of our guests raved about how incredible our day was! We cannot thank the Vandiver Inn more for giving us a day that we will absolutely cherish forever. Top-notch venue!!

We LOVED having our wedding and reception at the Vandiver! From the day we toured the inn, everything went perfectly! Everyone was so communicative throughout the whole process. They answered questions promptly and were so helpful throughout the entire process. Wedding day - everything was so amazing! Liz, our wedding planner, and the whole Vandiver staff were so organized and everything went seamlessly. The ceremony site was beautiful. There is an outdoor and indoor option, and they give you until the day before to pick the site, which was really thoughtful. Both areas, and the entire inn, are so lovely - you can bring decorations but you really don't need much because all the spaces are stunning, especially the reception pavilion. The food was amazing! So were the accommodations. All the guests raved about what an amazing time they had. I highly recommend having your wedding at the Vandiver! Thanks to all the amazing staff at the Vandiver for a beautiful wedding day!

Absolutely amazing!!! Jo and the staff of the Vandiver made our dreams come true. They ensured our day was worry free. We only had to show up and smile for pictures! Chef Susan's food was to die for as well. The entire planning experience working with Jo and the Vandiver was delightful. I really could not say enough good things about this venue. We got married there earlier this month and we are still receiving compliments on how intimate and personal the venue felt for our guests. We could not have asked for a better day thanks to the Vandiver Inn. They say that after you get married there, you become part of the family. We definitely feel like that is the case and appreciate all of their hard work! We will be back to visit soon!

When my now husband and I went to look at venues the Vandiver Inn was our first stop, and our last. Chasi was the first person we met when touring the venue, she was amazing and so charismatic! After learning about the Vandiver and everything that it had to offer as a wedding venue, we booked the venue on our drive home! Jo was our coordinator and she made everything so unbelievably painless. She was so attentive to emails and majority of the time emailed me back within five-ten minutes. My husband and I had our rehearsal, ceremony, and reception held at the Vandiver Inn. Since they usually have events on Friday nights we chose to do a brunch at the Vandiver. It was simply amazing. We had a mimosa bar, a made to order crepe bar, pecan crusted thick cut french toast, the works. Before deciding on our menu for the wedding we went to the thursday night tasting that they held at the Vandiver Inn that welcomes brides and grooms to try different items from different menu options. It was a great event and atmosphere and was nice to talk and mingle with other future brides and grooms. We had our ceremony in the pavilion which was a beautiful setting. The venue received many compliments from our guests. During the cocktail hour the entire venue was flipped from ceremony to reception. The whole time during the cocktail hour Jo was bringing us during photos, beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres. The hors do'euvres are amazing and so is the food. The food come out quickly and Jo was so attentive to the individuals that had food allergies and preferences. The cake that is provided by Desserts by Rita was so moist and delicious. After we cut the cake it was quickly cut and served for our guests in a timely manner. I could continue to go on but I don't think I have enough space! I would recommend the Vandiver Inn to anyone who wants to have an amazing wedding with amazing food and such an amazing staff!

My wife and I toured more wedding venues before making a decision than we did houses when we purchased a house! The moment we walked through the Vandiver, we knew this was the place where we would get married. The staff at the Vandiver is top notch. We signed a contract with the Vandiver 18 months out from our wedding date, and during that entire span, the staff were very responsive to any planning needs that we had. We worked very closely in the beginning with John, the owner, and he is a pleasure to work with. Once we were about eight months out from our wedding, we were turned over to Liz, our day of coordinator. There was no drop in communication or loss of information when this transition occurred.
On the day of the wedding, Liz was great at making sure everyone was where they needed to be, decorations were in place, vendors were informed, and that guests were happy. The staff treated our family and friends with great respect, even when our guests were short with the staff. It still amazes my wife and I how top notch the service and attention to detail were on the day of our wedding.
Also, it goes without saying, but the food at this venue is incredible. Chef Susan worked with us to modify and create a menu that all of our guests raved about throughout the evening. She was flexible in making modifications to their food packages, and they were able to meet the needs of our guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions. My wife and I plan to go back again and again for their Monday Night Supper Clubs or other special events.
The Vandiver has it all: great rooms, beautiful ceremony/reception spaces, exceptional food, and amazing service. The best part is that for a wedding, everything was also reasonably priced. My wife and I certainly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for the total package and a great experience.

Where do I begin... Our ceremony and reception were both held at the Vandiver Inn. Our wedding coordinator was Liz, but Jo was a huge part of our planning process as well. Every step of the way throughout the entire year and a half of planning with the venue went without a hiccup! The Vandiver was the PERFECT place for our wedding and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. The Vandiver is VERY organized and helps you plan out every single detail in order to make your day as smoothly as possible. The staff is AMAZING and super accomodating. A few of my bridesmaids and I stayed at the Vandiver the night before the wedding and Kim, the innkeeper was so super sweet and accomodating. She was amazing. During the day of the wedding, our coordinator Liz was a freakin' ROCKSTAR! I wanted to keep things on a specific timeline and she made sure everything was kept on track. She was there for whatever I needed and was such a huge help. She even decorated the space with decorations I provided when I was clueless as to how to decorate. During our reception, the entire town's electric went out for about 45 minutes. The entire staff at Vandiver was so quick to provide flashlights, candles, and glowsticks to our guests so that we could keep the party going. They scrambled to get a generator going so we could still have music and dancing. We ended up dancing and partying in the dark and it couldn't have made the situation any more perfect. Susan, the chef and owner of the Vandiver is AMAZING and her food was to die for! We had a special request and she had absolutely no problem doing it. We cannot say enough great things about our experience at the Vandiver and would 100% recommend this venue to anyone. If you want a stress-free, smooth, FUN wedding---CHOOSE VANDIVER. You will not be disappointed, I promise. Thank you all for making our day so perfect!

We have nothing but good things to say about the Vandiver Inn. Our coordinator, Liz, was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. The food, the staff, the beautiful mansion -- everything was just perfect. Would book with this venue again for any event without hesitation.

I don't even know where to start. Jo & the entire Vandiver staff have literally blown us away...our wedding was everything we wanted and then some all because of their dedication and hard work. The Vandiver really does have their ducks in a row with this wedding stuff. We have had so many guests tell us that it was the best wedding that they've been to! The food...OMG the food. Delicious. From the very first meeting I have been nothing but excited to have our wedding there and had absolutely no hiccups along the way. So, so happy and couldn't have asked for anything more. Recommend this venue 100%!

My husband and I were recently married at the Vandiver Inn and we were blown away with the whole experience. We mainly worked with Jo in coordinating everything prior to as well as the day of. She is by far super women I have no idea how she does that job so flawlessly and effortlessly. She was always quick to respond to my many emails and constant mind changing. Our immediate family and bridal party stayed at the Inn for the weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner there friday and the wedding on Saturday. We received so many compliments on the food both days, also every guest raved about how comfortable the beds were. It was very nice that the people at the inn did not have to worry about driving all weekend and that downtown was in walking distance to continue the party after the wedding. The employees at the inn all act as though they are family and made us feel like we were part of that family while we were there. I cant say enough wonderful things about the vandiver, especially JO.
