Kate was so incredibly helpful through virtually every stage of the wedding planning process. She made sure all major aspects of the wedding day were handled, ensuring we were able to solely focus on enjoying the moment and not stressing about behind the scenes details. Amazing!! Highly Recommend Kate!!
As a former Summer 2023 bride, working with Kate was amazing! She was so attentive and understood the vision I was going for on the big day. There were a lot of moving parts to my wedding and was so thankful to have her.
At first I wasn’t sure about getting a coordinator in general but it was the best money spent. She gave me peace of mind on the day of that everything would be handled! And let me tell you brides, so much happens within the last week leading up to the wedding and having Kate be there, was amazing. Even with things switching around less than a day before the wedding, she had it all covered.
Highly Recommend Kate to anyone looking for a coordinator. My family and I talk about it still to this day that it was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process, was hiring her. I am a type A person and had several details that I was looking for to be executed on the day of, and she made it all happen. There’s so many little things that have to happen behind the scenes on the big day, that the bride shouldn’t have to be worrying about. Kate allowed me to focus on what was happening in the moment rather than worrying about all the little things.
I am extremely thankful to have had Kate on my wedding day and for all the peace of mind it brought me. She came to the meetings with my husband and I, asked questions I didn’t even think to ask, and was great to work with all the way through. Again, if you are looking for a coordinator, Kate is your person!!

To sum up our experience with Valley & Oak Events, our wedding would have never happened without hiring for our wedding planner! From the monthly calls to just ease our minds, to the best day of our lives and making our vision come to life, hiring Valley & Oak Events was the key to our dream wedding. Kate has such a professional relationship with her clients that was also so personal, it made all the stress and worry about planning such an event truly memorable and enjoyable. Hiring Kate was probably the smartest decision we made while wedding planning and I can’t emphasize enough what an absolute *PLEASURE* it was having her on our team. She allowed me to enjoy the planning process, and on our wedding day, Kate was everywhere all the time, taking care of business. I would hire Kate for every wedding in every lifetime if for no other reason than the reassurance I felt having her in my corner (there are, of course, many many more reasons to hire Kate. As the father of the bride you want the best for your daughter and for things to go seamlessly on Wedding day. Kate provided it all, she worked tirelessly to make sure that every detail was taken care of and that we could simply enjoy the day without worry. She has a wonderful personality that puts everyone immediately at ease and exudes the confidence that she has this all under control. Her willingness to do the dirty work and help until the lights went out did not go unnoticed. We so appreciated everything she did, especially with this being a remote wedding for us. We have family in Michigan, but all of the conversations prior to our arrival were with Kate in GR and the wedding couple back in Minnesota. When you are dealing with a distance like that trust is of the upmost and we can honestly say, that you can feel confident putting all of your trust in Kate! She is a Superstar! -

When my husband and I first started the wedding planning process, hiring Kate as our wedding coordinator was one of the first and easiest decisions we made. We had the luxury of meeting Kate prior to booking her for our day, as she was the coordinator for a couple of our friend's weddings. We saw what a wonderful job she did and our friends talked so highly of her. We got married on family property so I knew that we could not get through our day without hiring Kate. She was there whenever I needed her throughout the whole process. She was even able to snag last minute rentals for our guest tables that made the reception area look perfect and polished. Her eye for style and attention to deal is outstanding. She is so professional and on top of everything! If there were any issues or hiccups on our day- I did not know about them because Kate took care of everything. Hiring Kate to be our wedding coordinator was absolutely the right and best decision we made throughout the wedding planning process and I would recommend her to anyone!! -

Cannot imagine the wedding without her!
My family and I are "do-ers" and are quite accustomed to doing the work for big events, being organized, etc. For this reason, we've never had planners or coordinators. For my wedding, however, we had Kate, and I can't imagine not having her. She did so much, I still am amazed as I find out about more things she did behind the scenes. Every detail of my vision was achieved thanks to Kate. She even drove me and my husband to our hotel after the party! -

I am a professional DJ that has done hundreds of events across the country. I’ve worked with many different wedding planners, event coordinators, and the like and honestly have had so many bad experiences or I knew more about the clients and their event than they did that it really made me question working/partnering with wedding planners at all. Then I meet Kate! I have NEVER worked with a wedding planner that was so organized, so professional, on top of EVERYTHING, was confident, ran the show, COMMUNICATED, all while being so much fun to work with! We laughed so much! She even helped me load some equipment up without me even asking for help, she WANTED to do it! Kate is amazing and the ABSOLUTE BEST wedding planner I’ve EVER worked with! Don’t waste your time looking for the perfect wedding planner, she’s right here...4REAL! -

We hired Valley & Oak Events for day-of-coordinator services and it was, without a doubt, the best money spent on our wedding. She is worth every penny and probably doesn't charge enough for the amount of work she puts into events. Kate is one of the few gems found in the wedding industry. She is kind, passionate, and truly cares about making you and your partner happy. I picked Kate based on reading other glowing reviews, and it turned out even better than I had hoped for. She loves weddings, like REALLY loves weddings. Kate is able to provide tips and help create YOUR vision. Remember she literally attends weddings for a living, which is a huge value. She stands up for what you and your partner want; not what the parents want, not what the venue staff want, what YOU want. Kate takes the time to get to know you, listen to you, and therefore is the best at looking out for you. She coordinates all vendors, all guests, the wedding party, and most importantly has your back no matter what. Our wedding was affected by the pandemic and I really don't think I could have survived without Kate. We drastically changed our plans- new date, new venue, new catering, basically new plan all together. She never missed a beat. Our original wedding was going to be 200 guests, and our last minute COVID wedding was 35 guests. I am embarrassed to admit that I once thought having Kate at a small wedding would be overkill, but boy I was wrong! She made the day flawless and allowed my partner and I to truly enjoy our intimate occasion. I can't tell you how many of our guests commented on how on sharp, put together, organized, on the ball, and how smooth Kate made everything go. If there was anything that went wrong, I didn't notice because Kate took care of it. It was important to us to be surrounded by loving and caring people on our wedding day- that included vendors. Kate was exactly that- we love her as friend now. Hands down recommend investing in Valley & Oak Events for your big day. You will not regret it!

"Check with Kate" A Three Word Prayer
I, Groom, being of sound mind, and body, put these words down for you, Fiancé or Fiancée: My beloved and I Hired Valley & Oak for our event, and it was probably the best money we spent on the wedding. We paid out of our pocket, not wanting to debate the value with her parents, or mine, and if anything Kate didn't charge us enough for the services she provided. You may think that your mistress of ceremonies will handle organization, and she may. You may be fine with trusting bridesmaids, and groomsmen to orchestrate the flow of your event. However I promise you, you'd rather not put that on your friends and family, Everyone involved in your big day will have plenty of things going on themselves.
My experience with V&O started with Kate learning what my bride wanted. Let me explain why this is important: every person in both families, has an opinion on what the wedding should look like, and feel like, and what all the little details should be. Kate is the perfect person to understand YOUR vision, and execute that vision. This might not seem like a big thing, and it shouldn't be. This also negates a huge volume of stress on the day. "Check with Kate" is a great way for a semi-involved groom, who knows how particular his Fiancée is, to correctly answer every question of style, layout, and design. It's more than that though, It's also a great way for a bride to say "No" to any well-intention-ed-family-member who thinks a little last minute change will make the wedding better, without offending such a person, or their feelings.
Were you ever a clever little child, who would ask your non-disciplinarian parent for something you wanted, only to hear "Ask [other parent]." as a reply? Kate is that other parent, and so much more. She's a facilitator, whom none of your family, or friends will hold up to socialize with. They won't know Kate other than as an agent of your authority, fully aware of your vision, and how the day is going to go.
It helps that my wife is a florist who does weddings. I've attended more weddings(as staff) in the past three months than in the five years preceding. I've seen brides who couldn't explain their vision to their friends, and got all the wrong sort of help. I've seen brides fielding every question on their big day, and the way the stress kept climbing. I've watched brides accept every suggested change, and how a wedding can keep shifting away from the plan.
Valley and Oak was a force multiplier at our wedding, for three reasons I think. The first being that in the months leading up, the questions were asked, and Kate got to know my wife's intended wedding day. This was not a five minute chit-chat about how it should look. Kate did the research, took notes, and had all the answers on the day that mattered. The second part being that Kate understood. That's a big thing, bigger than you think, just reading it out as words. She knew why the seating chart was arranged the way it was. She knew how the ceremony was suppose to go. She knew where the guestbook went, and got it there. She knew where to put the table assignment chart, so everyone would see it, without having to look for it. Finally Kate treated it like a professional, she had the patience, practice, and vernacular to turn down the inevitable "well I think we should. . . " from family, without upsetting anyone.
She had her finger on pulse of the day, and when something didn't go as planned(inevitable, for us it was a catering timetable thing) She knew what to do, how to shuffle, and made the day work as if it was always planned that way. Is this a glowing review yet? If not, the fault is mine. -

Hiring Kate was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She was more than a day of coordinator for us though. Kate was helpful anytime I had a question or needed a recommendation during the unusual planning process because of COVID. She has so much knowledge about the wedding industry and we felt very lucky to have her on our side. Our day ran smoothly because of Kate, which allowed Dave and I to focus on each other and our guests, which is what the wedding day should really be about. -

I plan events as part of my job and know how to handle vendors, contracts, timelines, and budgets. But I knew I didn't want to handle the stress leading up to my wedding. Having Kate from Valley & Oak Events as my day-of coordinator was essential. She executed all of the plans I put in place so I didn't have to and neither did my family members. All of my guests and family got to enjoy the day because they all knew Kate was taking care of it. Kate was a great sounding board for final decisions and really helped with the Friday running around--even stepping in when I almost missed a vendor pickup due to an early closing on Fridays. Kate also acted as the catering staff setting up the desserts, refreshing, and clearing plates at my small dessert only reception with friends. She welcomed and wrangled my vendors when they arrived at the reception site too, which is key to making sure your vision is realized. If you're trying to plan a budget wedding, this is not the service you want to skimp on. Invest in peace of mind and hire Kate! -

If you want someone who will go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect, Kate is your girl. She was there every step of the way, from my questions that came up while planning to clean up. She even bustled my dress and convinced the venue to let us keep our leftovers there overnight, which they usually don’t allow.
Our day was beautiful and stress-free on our end. You will not regret hiring Valley and Oak for your big day. ❤️ -

Kate is a long-time friend of mine and my friend has found her calling! She immediately started helping with the planning from the moment we hired her, but I was the most impressed the weekend of. The days before the ceremony, she was shuttling things back and forth endlessly and handling crises due to extreme heat. I’m pretty high anxiety and persnickety about how I want things and Kate made everything perfect! I’m positive she handled some crises the day of that I will never know about. She is also a handy reference guide for all things wedding. When should I do this, how is this supposed to be, what’s traditional in this scenario? She knows the answer! I’m shouting hire Kate from the rooftops! Almost forgot, she updo’d my hair for my rehearsal dinner when we were struggling for a hairstyle. She does it all! -

Kate is Amazing!
Kate was worth every penny! She made our rehearsal and day of the wedding perfect! She remembered all the details and made sure everything was taken care of. She was so helpful during the whole planning process. Your day goes by so fast I couldn't image having to be in charge of all the little details. If I could do it all over again I would use Kate every time! -
