Thoughtful and kind

Val was a fantastic officiant and celebrant. She was thoughtful and warm from our first meeting and helped us out in big and small ways for our big day. She very kindly steered us through the process and kept us on track to make sure everything was ready for the day well in advance. Val worked closely with us to reflect on what mattered most to us and helped us prepare a unique ceremony that made our guests feel welcomed and included. Val also helped us with filing of our license and made sure everything went smoothly. Our ceremony was so special and heartfelt thanks to Val. We would highly recommend Val.

Made our day special!

Val officiated our wedding this summer. She did a really fantastic job, starting with asking us lots of questions about ourselves that she ended up weaving into the ceremony. She was very communicative and open to that way we wanted the ceremony to go. Would highly recommend!

The perfect officiant for our marriage ceremony!

My husband and I planned a small ceremony in central park. Valerie was very responsive and communicative. She provided good advice about obtaining the license and ideas for locations. She was reliable and arrived right on time for the ceremony. Our ceremony was absolutely blissful- just what we wanted. We had described the ceremony we wanted and Valerie helped make that happen. She was great with describing before the ceremony, what would happen and during the ceremony kept everything so smooth. Valerie helped to make our day stress-free and special. Thank you!

Wonderful Officiant

Working with Valerie was great. She made sure that our ceremony was tailored for us. When we had to postpone due to the pandemic, she was flexible, and we were able to reschedule for a later date. Our ceremony was exactly how we had imagined it, some teary eyes, a bunch of laughs and all smiles. We couldn’t have worked with a better officiant for our special day.

Lovely wedding in Central Park

We hosted a lovely small wedding in Central Park in socially distanced manner. Valerie sent us a very thorough questionnaire to get to know us. And she wrote a touching wedding script based on the story. It was as if she knew us for very long time. She provided wedding vow samples that really speak to us. Amazing! ❤️

Our wedding was postponed due to the coronavirus and Valerie really helped us through it! She was in constant communication with us on our options on how to still have a ceremony and the legal measures with the NYC court system. We were able to have our ceremony on April 4th over zoom where we live streamed it over YouTube for our friends and family to tune in not only did she officiate the ceremony but Valerie reworked her original ceremony to make it work over zoom. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple and her words were extremely beautiful.

Valerie is a true gem, very sweet and made our day so special! Her professionalize and knowledge is outstanding. She will also be preforming an extended ceremony in person on December 5th where our family can actually be in attendance. We feel so blessed to have Valerie be a part of our wedding and highly recommend her!

Something we will never forget!!

Valerie was outstanding!! I gave her all the information needed to help me plan a surprise renewal for my wife when we traveled to NYC. She met us in Central Park and surprised my wife and son. She wrote vows that my wife and I will treasure forever and made the experience something that we will never forget. Not to mention, when we arrived back home, we were surprised again with a package in the mail with everything that was written for our ceremony packaged together in a keepsake envelope. I would highly recommend using Valerie for your renewal or wedding. She will make it something special!!

We highly recommend Val!!

Val officiated our wedding in September 2019 in Central Park. We could not recommend her highly enough. She first asked us to complete a detailed questionnaire that enabled her to write a first draft of our ceremony. Val somehow managed to incorporate both the solemnity and humor that we were seeking. My wife and I then tinkered with the language, and Val was always extremely responsive in sending us new drafts until we were happy with a final version. A month before the wedding, we met with Val in CP and at our nearby brunch site to discuss precisely where in CP we would be married and, more generally, the type of ceremony we wanted. Val was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the process. On our wedding day, Val helped lead our friends and family to the ceremony cite. The ceremony went off exactly as planned. (Val also recommended our photographer, and that worked out great.) Val later gave us a written copy of the ceremony as a memento. As for price, I talked with other potential officiants and found Val's to be extremely competitive.
In sum, we very highly recommend Val to serve as a wedding officiant.

The perfect celebrant for our special day!

Valerie was fantastic from start to finish. She helped us choose the right location near the Brooklyn Bridge as we were not locals and from overseas which really helped. She took the time to make the ceremony really individual to us and she made the day run smooth. She was just involved and present and really cared about our experience. April 13, 2019 wedding @ the NYBG

I was lucky enough to be put in touch with Valerie when my original officiant cancelled on me a mere two months from our day. From our first phone call, Valerie was attentive, responsive, and more importantly - comforting. Even through a big error in our arrangement ( I messed up the ceremony time! eeek) she was flexible and understanding. Huge. She took the time to get to know us through her own questionnaire process and was incredibly patient and thorough. On the day of, I felt completely at ease once I knew she had arrived. She went off and handled coordinating with my DJ sand photographer and took a quick moment with my small bridal party and I to just breathe and level set - it was probably one of the most critical moments of the day. Valerie was clear, concise, and delivered an amazing ceremony. She was integral in the success of our vows as well. My guests said that they were refreshed and intrigued by the beautiful, personal ceremony. And my pictures prove it - every person at a our ceremony look engaged and happy.

It was a blessing that my original officiant cancelled. I feel lucky to know Valerie and to have had our paths cross.

Memorable ceremony!

Mike and I got married on 11/25 and we can’t stop talking about how wonderful the ceremony was. The ceremony was the most important part of the day in my opinion and it was everything we had hoped for and more. We received so many compliments on it from friends and family and everyone really enjoyed hearing the details about our story.

Valerie took the time to get to know us and that was reflected in the ceremony. She was very responsive and made the entire process stress free. It's clear that she cares about her work and takes pride in what she does.

Summed us up perfectly!

We could not have asked for a better celebrant and a more beautiful ceremony! Right from the start Val was just interested in learning about us as a couple. In each draft of the ceremony, she somehow managed to capture us and our story so perfectly. Her responses were quick and she was willing to accommodate any vision we had. We had been to a few weddings this year and we couldn't help but judge the ceremonies and pick out things we liked or didn't. At the end of the day, Val's was the best I have ever heard! You could really feel the love in the courtyard. Our guests kept asking how long we had known her, that's how personal it was!

Valerie ticked all the boxes we wanted and needed from our small Central Park wedding, and then some. Due to geography, we did not actually meet her until the morning of the ceremony. But her communication via phone and email was professional and friendly, and we appreciate the work that went into making our special day as smooth and lovely as it was. Our family greatly enjoyed the ceremony (a few tears of joy were shed), and many people commented on what a fine job she did in pulling it all together. In fact, we ended up using one of the poems she selected for us at a later event related to our wedding; so she clearly knows what she's doing.
We'd recommend her highly and wish her nothing but the very best.

We planned our NY wedding from Scotland and were so glad that we had Valerie as a celebrant. Although we never met her until the wedding day, her personality and professionalism shone through the emails. She gave us good advice and was always quick to answer any queries. We certainly didn't feel like the distance was an issue. The wedding questionnaire we completed helped her to get to know us better and we felt in control of what was being said on the day with Valerie adding her own special touches within the speech.
Valerie made the wedding day itself very personal and made everyone feel at ease. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Valerie was the best find of my wedding, minus the groom. From the first email, I could just tell how perfect she was for us. She asked all the right questions and was in touch, but never pushy or overwhelming. She made me feel at ease through the entire process, which for me... a type a, anal, perfectionist... is really such a hard task. At no point did I question if we had chosen the correct officiant. I actually was wondering if she was real, but sure enough she was! She officiated our sunrise ceremony and was prompt... she even beat me there! She wrote a personalized ceremony and kept it short and sweet, as I had requested. The ceremony made us feel like she knew us for years. Our immediate family were the only ones present and they are still talking about how beautifully written our wedding was. Her pricing was extremely reasonable and her communication skills are top notch. I found her while she was on vacation, out of the country, and she was STILL answering me!!

Jonathan and I would like to begin by saying that you would not be disappointed with Valerie. From the moment my husband and I met Valerie, we connected and she got my husband's jokes (which was very important to us). We wanted to pick an officiant that showcased our personalities and love for each other and Valerie did just that. There is not a person that did not comment about how amazing the ceremony was and how there was a little bit of everything. Those couples that are married told us that as they heard Val tell our story and listened to our personal vows they reminisced on their own marriage and remembered why they got married. Our single friends told us that this was one of the best wedding ceremonies they have ever witnessed as it was centered around two people who love each other and made a decision to become one giving them hope of what they could have. All of the comments and the feelings that our friends and family felt was exactly what we wanted to portray. We feel strongly that it was in great part due to Valerie having taken our vision and bringing it to life. We wish we could get married all over again just so that Val could marry us.

Valerie is a wonderful Celebrant! I definitely suggest to book her. And this is not only about the ceremony itself, the ceremony took 15-20 minutes or so and was very nice and emotional, it is about her attitude before the ceremony. Valerie was really attentive and welcoming. We travelled from Thailand and 1 month prior to the ceremony were denied with our US visas. What can I say? We were really depressed and started changing our plans, but at the same time we received so huge support from Valerie, it was so inspiring that we applied for the visas again and succeeded. Valerie was in touch with us for the whole period from signing agreement in December till the ceremony on 8th of May. She gave the feeling that we were the only couple she worked with, so attentive she was. Her lovely partner Joan was very nice to become one of our witnesses. I took my wife to New York for her 50th birthday and our 26th wedding anniversary and had the idea to renew our wedding vows in Central Park as a surprise. I found Valerie through the internet and from the first email I sent her the help, advice, and genuine interest & caring was amazing. Valerie advised everything I needed from the most romantic place to have the service in Central Park to how I could obtain the permit. After sending Valerie some information about my wife and I she went on to write the most wonderful touching service as if she had known us for years. On the day Valerie made sure everything ran smoothly, including ensuring someone was on hand to record our wonderful occasion and was genuinely happy for us. If anyone is thinking of travelling to New York to marry or renew marriage vows then all I can say is look no further than Valerie Coleman.

We had been in contact with a few others prior to meeting with Valerie, and she was definitely the most responsive. Our dream wedding came to life this holiday season. We were married beneath the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center with our families at our side (14 people in all). Valerie Coleman conducted our ceremony with warmth and solemnity, in a confident voice that rose above the noise of Rockefeller Plaza. She wrote a ceremony that was the perfect celebration of love and the union of two hearts and two families. We wanted a ceremony that combined traditional, timeless vows with our unique story, while keeping it under 15 minutes in case the January weather was terrible. Val drafted a wonderful ceremony based on written interviews with each of us, and then she worked closely with us to make it perfect. She is patient, professional, and responsive; we emailed and phoned often and also met in person the week before the wedding. We wanted an officiant who had conducted ceremonies by the tree before and Val let us know what to expect and what would work best for us. She answered all our questions and offered great ideas about the ceremony, and she also introduced us to our amazing photographer and the beautiful hotel where we stayed on our wedding night. After the wedding she followed up quickly with the city paperwork; we received our marriage certificate the next week. This was our first time planning a wedding (and we did it in six weeks) so Val’s expertise was a huge help in easing the stress. We had a wonderful evening and can’t thank Val enough for helping make it perfect.

Valerie made our big day to something very special. The ceremony was personal romantic und written with a lots of love. Everything was so uncomplicated and relaxed. She felt use with all our emotions and tried to create an amazing moment for us. We were so happy about everything... It was really perfect and amazing. If someone wants to get married in new york the best thing you can do is to choose Valerie as your officiant she did such a great job! She and her partner helped us out making wonderful photos and told us something about the location and showed us some special corners in Grand Central Station. Was the best decision to hire her!!

We contacted 5 or 6 officiants before our wedding and Valerie was by far the most sympathetic. She was always fast to reply to any of our questions, very flexible and open to our ideas and requests. We felt she really listened to us and helped us to organize our wedding just the way we wanted. The wedding was nice, simple and it wasn't stressful at all, it was great fun.
She is very friendly and professional at the same time. We would highly recommend her.

We had originally found Val through the Celebrant Institute as we were looking for someone that had experience with interfaith marriages. We were referred to this institute by a friend of the family, and while we liked the idea, we had to begin our search for someone that would be a good representative at our wedding. We first discovered Val through her profile and immediately set up a phone conversation. We were instantly sold on her easy going personality, enthusiasm for her job and her ability to really understand our vision and how she could play an important role in our wedding ceremony. We had previously spoken to about 5 other celebrants, but decided that Val was the best choice.
From then on, the process was quite easy. Val had us each fill out a questionnaire so that she could best understand our personalities, our relationship and how we really felt about each other. The beautiful thing about having a celebrant officiate your wedding, especially under circumstances such as interfaith, was that the ceremony was going to be focused more on our love for each other and our own personal story.
Our wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect. I'm still not entirely sure how Val managed to capture our entire love story, providing our guests with a fun, yet emotional service that let everyone feel like they knew how in love with each other that we really are. We had so many rave reviews about our ceremony from the guests. Almost everyone that I heard from said it was by far "the best ceremony" they had ever seen.
We thank Val so much for her services and truly hope that anyone that desires such a ceremony feel confident in using her as well:)

Val was a great fit for us and so easy to work with. We are a multicultural couple and she made it a point to not only incorporate our different backgrounds, but even gave a small blessing in another language. We gave Val guidelines for the type of ceremony we liked and expressed that we'd like a unity ritual and she came up with a ritual that couldn't have been more perfect for our personal history! Not only did Val offer years of experience, her personality was very easy to work with and her responsiveness and professionalism were much appreciated. We'd highly recommend hiring her if you are looking to create a personalized ceremony for a unique couple.

I found Val online after searching for non-denominational officiants in Western MA. She doesn't typically do weddings in MA, but was happy to get the necessary license to to officiate our wedding. Val always responded to our emails within a day or two and worked closely with us to craft a ceremony that was personal and exactly what we were looking for. We worked remotely via phone/skype (we were in DC and she in NY) to design the ceremony and I felt like Val spent time getting to know us. She met with us multiple times to really understand what we were looking for in the ceremony and was always flexible and positive. She provided great suggestions for readings and ideas on how to make the ceremony really reflect our relationship and heritage. She also set deadlines for deliverables which I greatly appreciated, as i didn't want to be writing my vows the night before the wedding! So many guests commented on how beautiful, personal and unique our ceremony was. Tears were flowing and everyone was laughing throughout. For us and the guests it was the highlight of the whole wedding. You can't go wrong with Val!

Valerie performed a Vow renewal service for us in Central Park. we were celebrating 30 years of marriage. She did a wonderful ceremony based on our answers to her survey. From the start Val was very helpful, accommodating & friendly. We communicated by email as we live in Australia, and all replies, requests were met with efficiency.
It was lovely to meet her on the day, & we thoroughly enjoyed the celebration that she wrote for us. We would highly recommend Val .

We loved the way she wanted to get to know us and how she had prepared for the ceremony. It made it all the more special. Working with a Val as our officiant was an absolute pleasure for our wedding on September 26th. My husband and I had to plan our NYC wedding from London and Val made the process very simple and straightforward. We answered a few questions about ourselves and how we met, shared the information with Val and voila, our ceremony was created.

Val is very prompt in all communications. Even though we were 5 hours ahead of NY, we received responses back from Val within 24 hours of sending a query. She even offered to set up calls or Skype to review the ceremony. It was not necessary given the format she shared with us was exactly what we were looking for. Simple, lighthearted and personalized!

We explained that we didn't want a cookie cutter ceremony and worked with Val to deliver the ceremony we both wanted. She reviewed the ceremony with us until we were both 100% comfortable it was what we envisioned.

All of our guests were very complementary of how perfect and personalized our ceremony was and that was largely due to the work Val put in to make it special. I would highly recommend working with Val.

We were married in a beautiful location in upstate New York. We were going to get married in the garden of the park. Unfortunately there was a small monsoon that day and an outdoor wedding was impossible. Val was great in helping us plan where we would be married indoors and making the transition really smooth. My bride to be was late to the wedding. Not her fault, but because of a variety of little mishaps! Val helped keep everyone in good humor and never was concerned at all that the ceremony was running late.
Most importantly the ceremony! Val helped guide us through the process of writing our wedding vows and making our wedding our vision and what we wanted. She was fantastic every step of the way. Her suggestions were always helpful and with caring and thought.
The ceremony was beautiful and Val officiated the ceremony with love, humor and respect for our special day. She really was sharing in our day. When I looked at her during the ceremony it was obvious that she was enjoying our special moment with us. We had never met Val before the ceremony but she felt like she belonged and felt like part of our extended family.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful, caring and giving she is.
I doubt that anyone can find a celebrant anywhere that can do a better job and make a more valuable contribution on this most special of days.

Valerie was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was very organized, very patient (my husband is dyslexic and I am ADHD, so getting our vows done and under a page took us quite a while lol) She wrote a beautiful ceremony script and has been one of the kindest people I've ever met! She even had her wonderful assistant taking pictures before and during the ceremony! She uploaded them to a page my husband and I could get to, which is awesome because my official photographs aren't ready yet. And not only was she completely non-judgmental and open minded (I'm pagan/spiritual and my husband is spiritual and into metaphysics as well- our familes are catholic & evangelical christans), working on the ceremony included her sharing kind words when religious family members were upsetting our non-religious selves over the ceremony details. We simply wanted a theme of universal love. She made us feel at ease during the whole process which in turn lead to a magical wedding day! When my now-husband and I first set out to find an officiant for our wedding, we were at a complete loss on where to start. It seemed like an incredibly daunting task. Our experience from previous weddings was that officiants typically delivered ceremonies that were simple and elegant, but dull and cookie-cutter. Instead, we were looking for something that could give our guests a better idea of who we were as a couple and why we were getting married.

With few options, we forged ahead with interviewing people we found online for months, but the results were disappointingly inexperienced, unreliable, or otherwise lacking. Until, at long last, we found Val! From the moment we met with her, we felt at ease and could sense that she genuinely cared about us as a couple. Her initial ideas for the ceremony, clear experience, and strong writing samples more than sealed the deal.

Despite all the craziness of wedding planning, Val worked with us closely and patiently to craft our ceremony and nail down all the details until it was perfect—though with her skills, we had very few edits to make to her initial draft (as someone who works in the Publishing field, such instances are rare!).

On the big day itself, Val delivered on everything we had hoped for and more. She infused our ceremony with warmth, humor, and wit, and gave our ceremony life and meaning. She even took the technical difficulties that we had due to the unexpectedly windy day in her stride and expertly kept the momentum going. I am not sure what we would have done without her. We are so glad to have had Val take part in our wedding—we couldn't be happier!

We had to travel from Texas to New York for our wedding, so we were not familiar with the area that we wanted to be married in. From the very first moment we spoke with Val, we knew we had found the one! Val was very sweet and encouraging, and explained the process to us every step of the way. She was always there when we called or emailed with questions. The ceremony she wrote for us was perfect, capturing our relationship so well. She allowed and encouraged us to write our own vows, which meshed perfectly with our ceremony. Val was very professional from the start. We travelled from Melbourne, Australia to marry in NYC and she was very helpful. Val was quite flexible when meeting prior and very friendly.
Val was also very calming on the day especially after I forgot the marriage licence and sent my Dad off to get it. After a short delay it all went very smoothly.

I selected Val to officiate my wedding because my now husband and I wanted to customize our wedding ceremony from start to finish. We wanted something unique, very much personalized, but yet have a few traditional elements tied in. Val was exactly what we were looking for! As soon as we booked her for our wedding date, Val sent us a detailed questionnaire that both bride and groom were to complete. Our responses provided her with material to customize 'the story of us' to be told to all our guests on our big day. Val was so patient and helpful in nudging us along when we were having difficulty completing the questions. Val truly loves what she does. Upon receiving my long response to the questions, Val immediately replied to my email with such enthusiasm towards reading my story. There was always great transparency when working with her, which is such a relief to someone who is wedding planning! I never had to wait long to hear back from her. If Val knew she was going to be away and unavailable for any length of time, she would always let me know. She was very helpful by providing suggestions to my questions regarding concerns about having an outdoor ceremony. At every step of the process, I felt confident that everything would be done on time and done well. Val certainly delivered! Marc and I were thrilled with the results and all the guests loved the personalized ceremony that kept them on their toes. We couldn't have been happier! When we decided to get married on our 17th anniversary we were in a quandary: we knew where to have it, what to wear, whom to invite and even what rings we wanted, but we had no idea what to do with the ceremony. We knew “traditional” wasn’t appropriate for us, but beyond that we were stumped. There were lots of scattered ideas, but no real plan. Then we met Val: her insightful questionnaire drew out all the disparate ideas we had had and then she, in a matter of days, wrote an extraordinary ceremony that we kept intact with only one edit. On the day of the wedding she came early, made negotiating the paperwork technicalities a breeze, and then basically took over so we didn’t have to worry about the details. All in attendance said it was an amazing, out-of-the-box ceremony, and a friend who is an event planner (“you know I’ve done hundreds of weddings . . .”) said it was the most moving and most meaningful ceremony he’d ever seen. We are forever in Val’s debt for making our wedding day the most perfect day we could have hoped for.

My Partner of 20 years Laura and I originally came to New York to go to the Clerks Office to get a marriage license, come back in 24 hrs and get married. As we walked in we were given a number and waited for our turn. As we waited I kept thinking " is this what we waited 20 years for" I looked at Laura and our two friends that had traveled with us to be our witnesses and said, " I wonder if it would be to late to get an officiant" We only had 48 hours before we were returning to Tennessee. I googled NY officiant . We both new immediately after looking at Val's picture that we wanted her to be the one. She looked gentle and kind. Much to our surprise with such short notice, she was able to meet us the next day at Bryant Park. What would have been a very uneventful few minutes at the clerks office turned out to be Magical to say the least. Val knew just what to say. Everything was perfect. It was like she had known us for years. A very special lady. It is obvious Val loves what she does. We are appreciative her beyond words.

Valerie was a lovely Celebrant - so attentive, so patient, and so very quick to respond to messages. She helped us design a moving, heartfelt wedding ceremony that pleased our family and friends while, at the same time, not making this very shy couple feel uncomfortable in the "spotlight." And Valerie was wonderful and accommodating on our wedding day, when the bride was very sick with a badly-timed case of the flu. Valerie's warm and compassionate demeanor helped keep a feverish bride, and the wedding itself, on-track. Val was the first and only officiant we met with. Needless to say, we chose her to marry us! Val is professional, personable, warm and caring. At our first meeting, she asked us what we envisioned for our day. She listened to what we had to say while offering her own suggestions. From there, Val sent us a very thoughtful and thorough questionnaire whose answers she used to craft our ceremony. She put together a draft and sent it to us for edits. We had very minor changes which she made right away. Our ceremony was light-hearted, touching, and funny, sweet, and just the right length! What a memorable day! Thanks, Val!

We had to travel from South Carolina to New York for our wedding, so we were not familiar with the area that we wanted to be married in. Val was extremely knowledgable of places within Central Park to have our ceremony and provided great insight into the steps that we should take in advance to ensure that everything would go smoothly on our special day. What a wonderful ceremony we had and Val was a big part of it all. The ceremony was perfect and she recommended a wonderful restaurant where we could have both the ceremony and a wonderful dinner! We had the best table in the house! What an exciting time it was!

Val guided us through the entire process, starting with her questionnaire. She responded to all our questions immediately, clearly and warmly. She took our answers and feedback and created a ceremony that exceeded our hopes.

We were originally going to get married at the court house but we are so happy we found Val who captured the depth of the meaning of marriage. We waited 31 years to make it legal and we found in Val the perfect Celebrant.

Wonderful and perfect are the two words that come to mind with Val! After searching for a Celebrant we knew immediately that Val was a perfect fit for us. A phone conversation and a few emails we were certain of our selection. The questionnaire is very thorough and the information that she gathers is extremely vital for the personal ceremony that she creates. The finished product is as if she has been a life long friend! Val was on top of every detail, extremely prompt in responding to changes and had a very positive influence keeping Bridezilla at bay. Like many couples who come to NYC to get married, we had no idea who to use as an officiant so we searched online as you are probably doing now. We had narrowed it down to two people based on the glowing reviews and awards but what finalized our decision was how flexible she was with our ever changing schedule and how quick she was to respond. And we are so happy we made that decision because after our ceremony, all our friends and family kept complimenting the great job our officiant had done. She was so calm and relaxed and put everyone at ease. The questionnaire she had us fill out prior to the ceremony was extremely helpful in creating the perfect ceremony and vows. Plus she has a great sense of humor! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for the ideal officiant!

From start to finish Val made our special day possible. Everything was unfamiliar to us, but Val's personalized professionalism made us feel comfortable and at ease. My partner of 20 years and I were from out-of-state and had never been to NYC before. Add to the mix a marriage ceremony and we should have been overwhelmed beyond belief, but Val was with us every step of the way. Val was just the perfect officiant for us. Throughout the process she was warm and cordial - very accessible and also very professional. As soon as we met her we felt such a rapport, it was as if we had known her for a long, long time. She is calm and so well organized! As we were a bit frazzled with last minute preparations when she walked in, we were so happy to have her calming influence as she explained how the ceremony would proceed. The service she wrote was, in a word, awesome. Afterwards, everyone talked about how beautiful the ceremony was, and what good ideas Val had. We were beyond satisfied!

Val married me and my partner of 14 years on September 21st of this year. From the very start working with Val was a pleasure. The questionnaire we filled out for her was very well written and provided alot of information about us and our relationship so that she could personalize our service and make it truly special and unique. She helped us find a location in Central Park that was just perfect and was very patient when it seemed like getting our family all gathered together was like herding cats!! Valerie wrote the most amazing service for our wedding. We are from the UK so we were not sure what to expect from a celebrant, but as soon as we met Valerie we knew she would be a great person to marry us in New York. The questionnaire was a little daunting at first, but in fact became a wonderful thing for us both to focus on in the months before the wedding. Valerie used it to write exactly the right ceremony - both in content and tone. She was also patient with all our small changes and questions. Many of our wedding guests said it was the most beautiful wedding service they had ever been to and I would definitely recommend Valerie wholeheartedly.

Valerie is a wonderful celebrant. We are from Australia and had intended to be married in Boston, but the instant I began to chat to Valerie by email I knew she was the celebrant for us. She is warm and understanding and wrote a beautiful service for us which was personal and exactly what we wanted. She is also professional and efficient and kept in touch with us to ensure that we were on track for our important day. In person Val is as lovely as she seemed by email and our wedding was perfect. My husband Nick and I got married over Labor Day weekend and we could not possibly be more thrilled about the way our ceremony turned out! Val did the most AMAZING job putting together a heartfelt, personal, sweet, and funny ceremony. Nick and I wanted to do something a bit different - we had a non-denominational ceremony despite my Catholic upbringing, but we still wanted to retain some of the traditions like readings and a memorial candle lighting to give structure to the ceremony. Honestly, as someone who had mostly attended Catholic ceremonies, I wasn't even sure how I envisioned the ceremony running. From the moment we contacted Val, she conducted herself in the most sincere and professional manner and demonstrated that she was a true pro at this and could craft any style of ceremony that we wanted. We met Val in person for coffee when we hired her and we could tell right away that this was a warm and caring person that truly enjoyed being a part of the happiest day in her clients' lives. She sent us an extremely thoughtful questionnaire that we each filled out about what we loved about each other and it was an awesome exercise to remind ourselves why we were getting married in the first place. Even more than that, she used it to craft the most personal ceremony I've ever read/heard. You get to see a draft (excluding any personal vows, etc. that you'd like to keep secret from one another) and she's welcome to any edits you may want to make. We had almost no edits though and I seriously cried my eyes out when I read it because it was completely "us." It was wonderful for us to sit down and read the story she had crafted based on our answers. Countless guests came up to us during the reception to say what an amazing job Val did and how unique and personal our ceremony was. Nick and I were thrilled and we cannot recommend Val enough. Seriously - you will not regret hiring Val as your officiant. She made our big day so special. THANKS VAL!!!

Our Wedding day was, of course, very special to us but Val made it even more special with the services that she provided and her attention to detail.
Her questionnaire allowed us to provide personal details about us that were then incorporated beautifully into our ceremony. We could tell she took the time to get to know what we are all about.
We came from out of town to be married in Central Park in NYC, on what we considered our 30th anniversary.
Val made sure that we had everything we needed to make it a carefree fun experience instead of a hectic whirlwind. We therefore had an extremely happy and memorable ceremony. Her tailored ceremony produced laughter, tears of joy and happy memories that will last a lifetime.
Our only regret is that we can never use her services again because this marriage is sure to last another 30 years.

We scheduled our wedding with Val from Utah and had a great experience working long distance with her. She was always very quick to respond to our questions and requests. She sent us a questionaire which we filled out, and from that she was able to make a very personal and meaningful ceremony. She sent us a copy of our ceremony well in advance and was happy to make any changes we requested. She even asked our wedding colors and came dressed appropriately. We had a great experience working with Val and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant.

Living in Minnesota, we did not have the opportunity to meet with officiants in person before our ceremony. Val took what we thought would be a huge problem in getting to know us and ran with it. From across the country, she was able to get to know us to the fun and personal level we wanted reflected in our wedding. She helped us not only put together the ceremony we had imagined, but made sure getting our license and finding a venue in Central Park went as smoothly as possible.
