Wonderful!!

Valerie was so gracious to capture both of my weddings (a small ceremony in the spring) and the large gathering in the fall. She did a wonderful job onsite and the photos turned out beautiful!

Valerie was Perfect

Valerie was the perfect photographer for our wedding day! She was diligent in capturing all the details, kept us on schedule to get photos done which allowed us to enjoy the rest of our night, and she was super sweet to work with! She had great ideas on poses, capturing candid shots, and could easily role with any day of changes. Our pictures turned out great and will be cherished in our family forever. I was also appreciative of her assistant for checking in and keeping me hydrated during photos. She was very prompt in sharing the photo albums soon after our wedding. Thanks for everything Valerie!

Stunning photos, organized photographer

Valerie's pictures turned out beautifully. I love the photo album we got through her as well. Pictures with her went smoothly. She knows what she's doing and looking for and got everyone set up in a timely manner both before and after the ceremony. We gave her a list of all the family shots we wanted and she was super organized and got us every variation we asked for. She also got some incredible shots of everyone having a good time at the reception.

Valerie was so courteous and genuine from the first moment we met. She was easy to work with throughout the entirety of the wedding-planning process and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. She delivered an impressive number of photos from our engagement shoot and wedding day, each photo beautifully edited and so intentional. The best photographer ever

Valerie is a sweetheart. She was patient during all the process to be sure the pictures were perfect. We had a great time thru all the process since our engagement pictures. Beautiful Experience to Cherish for Years!

I met Valerie at an open house got a venue and fell in love with her photography style Ann's her easygoing personality. She was supportive, understanding, and engaged through every step of the process. She's a wonderful and uplifting person to be around, and her photos are absolutely gorgeous. I am excited to have met Valerie and will definitely be using her services for any events in there future.

Adaptable, personable, professional!

We were so lucky to find Valerie as our photographer! She was always organized, friendly, and went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable. We had multiple touch base phone calls leading up to the day which put me at ease, even down to learning about my family dynamics. On top of that, she used to be a wedding planner which made her advice invaluable as I tried to figure out all of the little details.

Our engagement photos were SO much fun and she had a quick turn around time. Our wedding day was magical, and when I naturally had an emotional break down she didn’t rush me even though we had a tight timeline. She even stayed past her allotted time when our speeches ran long (pro tip - allow at least 30 min!). She truly cares, and adapts quickly and gracefully to your needs.l

Baby Shower Photographer

Valerie took pictures for my sister in law and cousin’s joint baby shower that I hosted at Boojum Tree. She was great! She showed up a little early and did a mini maternity shoot around the venue with both moms. They raved about her and said she really knew what she was doing and helped with ideas for the shoot. No awkward back and forth that can sometimes happen! During the event she was always around and really personable. She also was a PRO at handling our big and sometimes very distractible and difficult family. She was a treat to work with!

The Perfect Photographer!

If you are looking for an incredibly talented, on-the-ball and down to Earth photographer, look no further. I have nothing but good things to say about Valerie and her work. From the moment we met with her I knew I wanted her as our photographer. Her portfolio is gorgeous and I loved her personality. If we had any questions she responded to us immediately and was extremely helpful in preparing us for the big day (what to bring, things to remember and even a very helpful questionnaire on organizing family photos). We were extremely impressed with the engagement photos she took and even more so with those captured on our wedding day. Her personality is very calm, fun and patient (very important in coordinating photos with my family!). I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for an extremely talented and all around great photographer for their wedding day, you will not regret it!

Valerie was awesome! Highly recommend

Valerie was great to work with from the start and we are so happy we used her to capture our wedding day and engagement photos! She was such a trooper for our engagement shoot, we went to a somewhat remote location that required a 45 minute bumpy and slow ride down a rocky dirt road (each way..) and didn't even charge us beyond her normal travel fee. At the wedding she kept everything going smoothly gathering different groups of people during the day for photos, even corralling all our 120 guests into an amazing group photo! Most importantly, we got some AMAZING pictures of our wedding day that we will treasure forever. I am so happy with how they turned out and would recommend Valerie 100% to anyone who needs a wedding photographer! We will definitely be using her the next time we have professional photos taken.

Valerie is amazingly talented and gets the job done!

We enjoyed working with her at our wedding, and our photos came out exactly how we wanted them!

She kept our wedding party on their toes (cause they can get pretty wild) and made my husband and I feel so confident the day of.

My wife, Carol, was released from the hosp;ital the Friday afternoon before our Saturday ceremony. As expected, the timing on Saturday was erratic. Valerie exceeded the five stars in each of the above categories. Valerie was patient and understanding. She understood that Carol was ill and went out of her way to accommodate us. Her professionalism and compassion was equal to the quality of her photographs. I could say more but I am out of space (smile).

Words can not express how absolutely grateful we are to have chosen Valerie as our wedding photographer. We found her on one of our preferred vendor lists while we were wedding venue shopping. I decided to give her a call and after speaking with her I drew a giant heart next to her name to mark that she was my absolute favorite! After a few months we found our venue, but we were on a strict budget. I sadly had to send her an email to let her know that I appreciated her time, but it was not in the cards for us. She responded right back to me and expressed that she would work with our budget and I was so happy! The moment we sat down to meet with her we knew she was the one we wanted and it was the best choice we could have made. Valerie is super sweet, a joy to work with, and she thinks of all the little things that you would never have given any thought to. She made the whole process so easy and she had a way of making everything run so smooth on the wedding day. She made sure to capture every single moment. She puts her heart into what she does and it shows. Now we have so many amazing pictures and we have the hardest time choosing our favorites because we love them all! I will definitely be using her again in the future for more special moments. I highly recommend Valerie!!

Valerie did an amazing job with making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I am camera shy due to my imperfections, but she made me feel like an absolute princess with her encouraging and positive words. Valerie was amazing! She worked with our budget and was really awesome! We knew once we met with her that it was a good match and we knew we had to book her! All of our guests thought she was awesome and everyone loved how our photos turned out! The turnaround time was also very quick for us to get our photos! Valerie was an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. I knew I liked her from the moment we met. She was so easy going and calm. I knew this was the type of energy I would want on my wedding day. I didn't want someone who was over the top or overly excited.

Valerie answered all of my questions and eased my fears throughout the process. Our engagement shoot was so much fun and I knew then that the wedding would be an amazing experience. Our engagement shoot was at Fountain Hills Park, which is a favorite spot of mine. She had never been and was more than willing to travel there for us! We loved the pictures and got so many compliments on them.

Valerie was on time and prompt! I highly recommend getting the wedding package with a second photographer and an assistant for Valerie. Since my husband and I both come from large families, this was amazing. We needed two other people to help get all of the shots we wanted.

Our pictures came back around 4 weeks after the wedding. I still look at them every day. They are beautiful and there are SO many! I discover new pictures I like each time I see the album.

Valerie is the best and is a true professional. You will not be disappointed if you choose her for your special day or event!

As a mother of the bride, I can tell you how great it was to work with Valerie. She answered all of our questions promptly and thoroughly prior to the wedding. The day of the wedding was quite hectic but Valerie was calm and collected and had everything under control. The beautiful photos came back about four weeks after the wedding. Ordering professional prints is also a breeze. I highly recommend Valerie and would hire her again.

My husband and I first met Valerie at an open house at Boojum Tree back in 2014. At Boojum Tree, Valerie explained who she was, her photography style and showed us photos of events she had previously done! We were impressed! We decided to meet with her to get more information. We had not yet done our engagement pictures so we booked Valerie to do them! On our engagement shoot, Valerie was great, super patient (as we decided to bring our dog), kind, encouraging and creative! Once we got our engagement pictures back, we knew we had made the right decision in not only choosing her to do our engagement but also our upcoming wedding!! Valerie was the one of the best vendors that my husband and I worked with during our wedding! She really made our day go smoothly! From helping us with the wedding day itinerary to suggesting other wonderful vendors! We just got back some of the wedding day pictures and we are absolutely in LOVE with them! I really can’t wait to see the rest! We are so lucky and ecstatic to have met her! Valerie was truly a godsend for our day and I will continue to recommend her to everyone and anyone that needs a photographer for any event! Am I even allowed to write this review for a now friend?

Valerie’s friendly face and professionalism drew us in from first meeting at a Boojum Tree open house while we were venue searching. She was the first vendor/photographer we met at the first venue we looked at. She was so sweet and her photo books just totally captured me. I kept her card close by as we went to numerous other venues and met many more photographers.

Valerie and I met after work one day and could have talked for hours. She really wanted to get to know me and understand my vision of my wedding day. She was open and so genuinely excited for me and my Fiancé. She explained all her packages and helped me weigh which option fit best for us.

The rest of our meetings and communication were just a great as the first. She is so communicative and easy to get along with. Her photography style matched exactly what we were looking for and she is so darn good at it! She was super quick to get our engagement photos and wedding photos back. She even did a little slide show of our ‘first look’ during our reception which was really neat for our guests to see.

Hands down Valerie Bolitho is one of the best wedding photographers in Phoenix. We were lucky enough to have her photograph our wedding and now excited to call her a great friend!

My wife & I really count ourselves very fortunate to have found such a fantastic photographer in Valerie from Blue Hills Photo! She made our day so special with how professional & kind she is. She put us at such ease & made our experience so fun. When we saw our photos we were transported back to that magical day! She captured the essence of what our big day was about & caught the little moments that take up the big spaces in our hearts. I met Valerie 2 years ago at a Phoenix Bridal show after I had just gotten engaged. Even among all the other people that were there, Valerie took the time to get to know me and my personal story and we bonded over that. I knew when I left that I wanted her to take my wedding pictures. Then it was still early in the wedding planning process so it wasn't until about a year and a half later that I contacted her to do my wedding and she remembered me, I couldn't believe it! Valerie was absolutely amazing, she captured all of the moments we wanted and more. She was professional, on time, and listened to what we wanted so on our day it went seamlessly. You definitely get your money's worth if you book with her, it was affordable and the quality of pictures were outstanding. You can tell that she has a lot of experience and expertise from capturing getting ready moments, to the first dance. I am still getting compliments to this day about how great our pictures turned out. If you want to relive your wedding everyday in pictures, you should go with her, because that is what I do! Valerie is amazing! She is super organized and truly cares about her clients needs and wants. She photographed everything we asked for. She made the photography at our wedding stress free! Valerie was a great photographer. The day of the wedding she was very flexible in accommodating all the different requests but was also so organized and made sure we stayed on our timeline. She helped us get the pictures we wanted by getting people where they needed to be.

Valerie was so helpful on my actual day- from getting the shots that I wanted to assisting with accessories! She took her time and was incredibly friendly, professional, and followed through before and after to ensure that everything went smoothly. I had an intimate elopement ceremony so her role was crucial, and we couldn't have asked for someone with a better personality. She was a great find and I am so grateful!

Valerie was great to work with! She always answered us in a timely manner and was always a phone call away if we had any questions or concerns. She gave us great directions for pictures so that our pictures turned out great. She also was our photographer for our engagement pictures. They turned out amazing! We were so glad to have Valerie there to capture our special moment. Hopefully we will be able to use Valerie later on for family portraits!

Valerie was great! When we first met with Valerie, she listened to what we wanted and was very flexible in putting together a package that met our needs as well within our budget. She was very professional and always in communication with us to prepare for the big day which was very successful as everything went smoothly. She did our engagement and wedding pictures and we are very happy with the results!

I met Valerie at the bridal show in Phoenix last year and she has been great to work with! Her wedding package was exactly what we were looking for and the pictures turned out amazing! She was able to catch a lot of the candid moments on our wedding day that I didn't see and our photos were ready in just a few weeks! Valerie was referred to me through a friend. We could not be happier with the results of the photos we have seen so far. Valerie is kind and patient and fun to work with. Valerie did both our engagement and wedding photos. I highly recommend having engagement photos done. It gives you a chance to work with the photographer and get to know their style prior to the big day. Actual wedding day pictures seem hectic with the amount of people around! We were truly impressed with how calm and cool Valerie was as we gathered family members for photos. Looking through our pictures on her blog has me reliving the day all over again!

Where to start??? Valerie has been an amazing photographer not only for our wedding but our anniversary pictures as well . A photographer is how we met her but that soon led to an everlasting friendship. I can't imagine my life without her. Now I'm always planning on when and how we can work with her again on different occasions. Valerie is a real gem. She takes amazing pictures, is innovative, and easy to talk to. I really wanted a group shot of all 130 people at my wedding, I know it’s a lot to organize, and takes time, so I wanted to ask her if she thought it was even an option. She didn’t hesitate and said, “Absolutely, let’s do it!” That’s the attitude and energy she exuberates when she takes pictures. She loves her job and is great at it. She is responsive with all questions, keeps in contact, and asks what you need/want out of your day. She is organized and prepared – a must need for every bride. Make sure you save time to take pictures before the lighting becomes bad. And that your venue has a great spot for taking photos!

We were very pleased after viewing our wedding album. Valerie captured so many great moments and it's actually making it hard to choose canvas photos for our home; there are just so many we love! I had a pretty silly request regarding how I was photographed, but Valerie was able to make it happen with no problems at all. We were very lucky to find Valerie and so happy she offered such affordable wedding packages so we could have such a great wedding experience! :)

Great photographer! She got some really great shots of us and our unruly group while the sunlight was waning. We didn't agree on the pre-ceremony pic schedule and we were pressured for the first look photos that we didn't want (or do) but it worked out in the end. She's an artist and we would work with her again anytime.

So unhappy with the quality of photos and the amount I received. After being told she would charge extra for an assistant she brought her husband to my wedding as a date with no notice. The framing and usage of space in my photos was awful. Little to no individual editing to the photos just a mass wash out edit. I have ZERO photos of my husband and his men getting ready. As well as between every photo she had to keep reviewing the one she just took. The venue was indoors and one she was contracted with, it was as if she had never been there or knew how to use the functions on her camera. We did everything on her time and got nothing original or even good back. Of the 250 photos only about 3 were well done. With that I got 2 photos of my cake (not centered) and only 1 of each of my bridal party entering (1/3 of each is a wall with a large emergency red fire alarm). When asked for a re-edit we were told there was nothing she could do. When asked for the raws so we can edit them ourselves, we were told flat out No.
She was one of the 5 vendors our venue worked with and only 1 of 3 that had our date open.
If you have the chance to choose, I advise you pick differently.
