Carol Anne Abbott and the UVA Alumni Hall Reservations team are delightful! We recently held our wedding at the UVA Chapel with the reception after at Alumni Hall. Alumni Hall is a pretty space in itself, with the Jefferson Ballroom serving as the main entertaining space. The Annex room attached to the Ballroom worked perfectly for our cocktail hour. Carol Anne is amazing - literally the best to work with. She answered our initial questions and helped us navigate the path to securing Alumni Hall and signing a contract. She was available for our walk throughs, and a wealth of knowledge in terms of recommending various vendors within the Charlottesville area. My husband and I both graduated from UVA, but as we no longer live in the area, we relied heavily on Carol Anne to help find our other amazing vendors. We loved working with Carol Anne so much we convinced her to serve as our day of coordinator in addition - one of our best decisions of wedding planning! Our wedding was true to UVA down to the cheesy color coordination of navy and orange. My husband and I met at UVA and wanted to reflect our love for Mr. Jefferson's University. We were very pleased with the reception venue of Alumni Hall and recommend it for others - they also offer a discount for the reservation fee to Alumni Life Members.

Alumni Hall is a great venue - classically "Charlottesville" and central to the University. The event planner is very easy to work with and responsive. The price simply cannot be beat (discount available for Alumni Association members)! We added uplighting from MS events and all of our guests raved about the venue and atmosphere.

Alumni Hall is gorgeous. Best space in the area. The staff was amazing - everything ran perfectly (or if it didn't, I didn't know). Could not have been happier with choice to use them. The staff went out of the way to make sure I was happy, even though they didn't have to. I was already so excited about how the hall looked. They made great recommendations about where to put things that I wouldn't have thought about.

Loved the outside cocktail space and the kitchen/bar area are the best for your caterers.

The price is unbeatable for the space. I did have to rent chairs to match my color, but that was no biggie.

I had a great experience with Alumni Hall, they were quick to contact me if they had any questions, very flexible and easy to work with even with things that weren't explicitly specified in the contract. The price was great, and it included a huge rental area, tables, and chairs. There were absolutely no problems on Alumni Hall's end, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

UVA Alumni Hall was fantastic. We had to switch the date of our wedding and there was only a small fee for the change. They were flexible with all the details and the hall is a great value, considering that the fee includes a kitchen, all chairs & tables and there was only a small charge for parking. We became lifetime Alumni members prior to reserving and saved 20%, but UVA Alumni Hall is a great place for a large wedding reception!

Very convenient and you get a lot for your money. Parking, security, tables, chairs, easy sound system hookup (Band, DJ or iPod/Computer) and staff supervision are all included. It is also in walking distance of at least two hotels. We had both the ceremony and the reception here, the former in the garden and the latter in the large ballroom. They lose a star for flexibility for things such as having to choose a pre-approved caterer (list of 13), not letting you decorate the walls/ceiling or throw birdseed or have flowergirl drop petals, etc. Also be sure to double check if you want music to be played outside, you may need special permission and to rent more equipment.

This was a great choice for our reception. It was a little challenging getting the chapel and alumni hall for the same day, but they're used to this request and helped make this happen. You have to use one of their 13 approved caterers, but there are enough of them that I was happy to have someone limit the options a bit. Our wedding was on a Saturday evening, but they let us bring in supplies early since no one was using the ballroom on Friday night or Saturday day, which was really convenient. We also rented a projector for the evening which we thought was worth it.

Sunday was definitely cheaper than Saturday.
