  Amazing Catering by Trends for Our Wedding

  Our wedding day was made extra special by Trends Catering. Susan and Head Chef Carlos led a team that gave us an awesome food experience that our guests are still talking about.
  
  The food was absolutely top-notch. The Thai quesadilla starters were a hit, and the chicken skewers were juicy and full of taste. The main dishes, like the salads, filet mignon, and salmon, were loved by everyone. And the crowd-pleasers like smash mashed potatoes and baked ziti were just delicious.
  
  Trends suggested we serve the meals in a family-style, and it was a great idea. It let our guests dig in, chat, and enjoy our celebration while eating some amazing food. This style brought everyone together and let them try a bunch of different tasty dishes.
  
  The team at Trends was really good with our guests. They took care of every detail perfectly, showing that they're really professional and pay attention to everything. The bars, including a cool cigar station, a tequila tasting, and a full bar, were well-run and made sure all our guests were happy and impressed.
  
  The quality of the food was matched by the great presentation of the food and bars. Trends Catering turned our venue into a food lover's dream, showing how creative and dedicated they are.

  Best wedding food, like ever

  We hired Trends as our caterer and Susan and her team were stellar. If you surveyed our guests, most people would say dinner was the best part. That’s insane because no one likes wedding food AND we had phenomenal vendors. We hired the best 7 piece band in the Bay Area and a lot of people STILL said dinner was the best part of our wedding. Some of my friends texted me the next morning asking if I had leftovers because they would love to take some home.
  
  Susan and her team are also super professional and easy to work with. Communication was always great and when I’d change my mind, she’d always accommodate me. I also don’t know if all caterers are like Susan, but she was more than just a caterer. She was also a wedding planner, cheerleader and my advocate through this whole process. Loved working with her and her team. In fact, I agree with my guests - Trends was my favorite vendor and given how good my vendor team was, this is a high high high praise

  Great Team & Great Food

  Susan and her team were fabulous. She and her chef Carlos were so willing to work with us to make sure we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. The food was locally sourced, seasonal, and delicious. They have meals for every palette and make great suggestions since they have years of experience. We even got to taste our wedding food after the wedding since Susan prepared a beautifully wrapped to go bag for us. We highly recommend them for future events.

  Wedding Catering

  Susan is absolutely amazing to work with and will keep you laughing! She was so responsive through the entire year of planning and was so fun! Their team was great with their flexibility with any changes to the menu. Their food was amazing and we got so many comments from our guests about how good the food was which most of them said isn't normal to have good wedding food! They were amazing!

  Sue and Christina were great to work with. They were very responsive and helpful regarding not just the food but design elements as well. Trends does a fabulous job with creative presentation and everyone loved the food. They do a fabulous job working with the folks at Vine Hill House to make the whole wedding experience magical!

  Cooked from the heart!

  We tried several caterers and both sets of parents and we all unanimously picked Trends. The food tastes like it's cooked from the heart and it is. Susan is deeply involved in her business and it's very obvious how much she cares about what she's doing.
  Susan was fabulous to work with and very responsive.
  The food itself is incredible. I'm still dreaming about the Thai chili quesadilla appetizers we had passed around. The family-style service was also a big hit for everyone!
  Susan's staff were really on top of it - we never saw a line at the bar and the servers were thorough, efficient, and friendly. They also did a great job of checking in with me and making sure I was eating and had what I needed!
  At the end of the night, Susan sent us home with a little care package of leftover food, which was so thoughtful. It's that level of care and extra effort that really sold us on Trends to begin with.
  We all loved it so much, our family decided to use Trends to cater the rehearsal dinner as well!

  Susan at Trends is amazing! Beginning to end our experience with Trends was great. Susans menu is so flavorful and diverse, it's hard to narrow down! She's so flexible and patient, we had a few minor hiccups with family and she handled it without flaw! We chose a family style menu, so everyone could have some of everything, and it really made the wedding feel more homey. Everything was so flavorful and gorgeously plated! All the details are handled with love and it definitely shows through! Our caterer was really important to us, because people only seem to remember the food and dancing at weddings, and our guests definitely remember the food! The staff is all wonderful and really pay attention! We didn't have to do one thing, which on your big day means everything! We are so thankful to Trends for creating such a remarkable experience for us and our guests! We still get thank you's mentioning the food and drinks and are so so happy we went with Trends!

Trends is unique in that they grill on site. The salmon and beef were perfectly cooked. We did family style serving, which was really convenient. All the food came out at the same time.   Susan is a rad caterer! I had already enjoyed a delicious meal of her's at a friend's wedding before booking her, so knew she would make lip-smacking food. But she also was an absolute joy to work with! She allowed us a full tasting prior to booking (it was like a full on huge meal!), and was so willing to work within our budget but was able to add in all the fun features we'd hoped for (late night sliders and her to-die-for brownie sundae). She has such a fun sense of humor and has a great partnership with so many venues in the area. She also manages coordinating all of the rentals (linens and flatware) do you don't have to worry about a thing the day of. Her team sets everything up as well! She treats her employees so well, it was clear she thinks of them as family - which is exactly how I'd hope our wedding would be hosted. She added fun details to the pre-ceremony drinks and went all out to make it feel like us! I couldn't recommend her more highly! I wish I had photos of the food - but our incredibly photographer was busy enjoying the vendor meal (the exact meal we did for a fraction - the photographer and videographer raved about it!).

  All the food was cooked on site at the venue and came out fresh and hot. We did family style and I can't tell you how many people told me they loved not having to choose between the amazing tri tip in a pinot noir reduction or my personal favorite, chicken breast grilled with pancetta and fig. There are too many amazing sides to choose from, but another personal favorite was the pesto pasta. This was a hit with EVERYONE! Vegetarians included :).
  
  Trends is a green caterer, with all the food being local coming from a 100 mile radius and everything is seasonal! This makes a huge difference in the taste of your food and something that is so important when choosing a caterer.
  
  You also got to chose all your linens for the tables, bar, glasses and flatware with Trends, making the process so simple for you and efficient with it all coming from one place. I chose some amazing rose gold flatware and it was included in the price! It looked phenomenal with my blush/peach linens.
  
  I have to specifically mention the staff too. All of the bartenders and servers were some of the nicest people I have ever met or worked with before. They were there to help in any situation, always attentive, and anticipated your needs. What a great group of people!! Have no hesitation in booking Trends, you will be so happy you did!

  No words can describe how amazing the service, food, and professionalism that Sue and Trends catering provide. We did not have any restrictions from our venue about who we could and couldn't use so we decided to seek out the best. After tasting her menu and meeting with Sue, it was an easy choice. During the whole process she was kind, supportive, easy to communicate with, and made our day special. We had a few unique requests from a combination of a Polish and Texan background and she made it work. We had steak for dinner and Pierogi as a late night snack. Not to mention that we had originally anticipated 150 people and all 200 we invited came! She was able to change all the linens, place settings, barware, food orders, etc within a week and it never even seemed like she broke a sweat. She catered an amazing cocktail hour, dinner, late-night snack and more during our wedding and we constantly had guests asking about who made the fantastic food. Finally, she provided wonderful bartenders who were professional and kept the lines moving quickly so there was never more than a 2 minute wait for a drink.   No words can describe how amazing the service, food, and professionalism that Sue and Trends catering provide. We did not have any restrictions from our venue about who we could and couldn't use so we decided to seek out the best. After tasting her menu and meeting with Sue, it was an easy choice. During the whole process she was kind, supportive, easy to communicate with, and made our day special. We had a few unique requests from a combination of a Polish and Texan background and she made it work. We had steak for dinner and Pierogi as a late night snack. Not to mention that we had originally anticipated 150 people and all 200 we invited came! She was able to change all the linens, place settings, barware, food orders, etc within a week and it never even seemed like she broke a sweat. She catered an amazing cocktail hour, dinner, late-night snack and more during our wedding and we constantly had guests asking about who made the fantastic food. Finally, she provided wonderful bartenders who were professional and kept the lines moving quickly so there was never more than a 2 minute wait for a drink.   I love Sue, she and Melanie are amazing!!
  The food was unreal and the presentation was beautiful! Our wedding was an overwhelming success and Sue played a huge roll in every aspect of our event. Her advice was right on on the menu, linens,time frames, table placement, DJ selection, ect, ect, ect. Sue and Melanie are pro's and they know what works! Their food is amazing and their service is second to none.

  Perfect! Could not have been better!
  
  We used Trends Catering for our wedding back in May 2010.
  
  My wife and I consider ourselves to be "foodies" and love to eat out all of the time. So we wanted the food at our wedding to be amazing. We met with seven different caterers and ended up choosing Trends because (a) the food was great and (b) Susan is wonderful. She worked with us to craft a special menu that my wife and I designed ourselves. We were under a tight budget but still wanted amazing food (not an easy combination in the wine country) but Susan worked with us for weeks to perfect it. She would call us and say, "you guys can probably save some money here by doing this..." Most caterers would not do that. She even gave us a 2nd tasting so we could try the new dishes that we had dreamt up.
  
  And the best part... Trends is one of the few catering companies that will bbq the meat onsite if you want. A lot of the companies cook the food in their kitchens and then transfer it to your wedding site in a warming box (gross - like delivery food). But Susan and her team cook it all on site so its amazing!
  
  By the end, Susan was like our 3rd mother. My wife and I were going nuts with stress in the weeks leading up to it and Susan talked us down several times. She was so understanding and helpful.
  
  On the big day, the food and presentation was even better than at either of our two tastings. The morrocan tartlets she made were to die for! I had multiple guests come up to me and say it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding!
  
  I can't say enough good things about Trends and Susan!!! They were amazing!

As a bride who just got to show up, I felt confident that Susan and her staff would have everything in order and they did. I was able to enjoy the day knowing everything would be perfect.   We had an excellent experience with Trends Catering and Susan, the owner. From the moment we first met Sue and tasted the Trends food we were impressed. It was a large step above the other tastings we had at Larry Vito and Park Avenue. We initially hired Trends based on the quality of the food and our positive impression of Susan. In addition to the food being excellent, we liked that they limit the number of events on each day so that Susan was actually there at our wedding. With some of the larger catering companies you meet with a salesperson and plan the wedding with that person, but they are not there the day of the wedding to execute the plan. It was great that after a year and a half of working with Sue that she was there the day of the wedding to make sure that everything went according to plan.
  
  We had a three course sit-down meal with a salad course, pasta course and entree of either hanger steak in a Cabernet reduction or sea bass. Considering the meal and the staff necessary to execute the event Trends offers excellent value for the cost. Susan did not nickle and dime us and was very conscious of staying within our budget; in fact, she was more concerned with sticking to our budget than we were. When we decided to upgrade the glass wear she looked for other ways to cut costs (but not corners) so that she could deliver on her original estimate. At the end of the night Susan and her staff boxed up some of the extra food so that we could have a late night snack.
  
  The staff at the wedding was professional and very competent, including the bartenders and waitstaff. Another nice thing about hiring Trends is that you are free to provide your own alcohol. Trends provided the bar set-up and the bartender, but we bought all of our own beer and wine at Bottle Barn. In doing so, we were able to buy high end beer and wine, without having to pay any corkage fee or mark-up through the caterer. We served beer for $1.50/bottle and wine at $25/bottle, whereas had we used another caterer we would have been charged $4.50 for the beer and $55 for the bottle of wine. Being able to provide our own alcohol enabled us to serve high end products at a low cost, relative to other venues and caterers.
  
  Dealing with Susan during the year and a half of planning was very pleasant. She always returned emails promptly and was happy to meet with us on several occasions to discuss details. We met with her for a tasting a year and a half before the wedding, a second time 6 months before the wedding to discuss linen and other rentals, a second tasting a few months before the wedding, and then she was present at our Vine Hill House walk-through. At each appointment she spent hours with us discussing the details and never made us feel rushed. We appreciated all the time she spent working to make our event just as we wanted it to be.
  
  Also, Susan runs her business with environmentally sound practices. She is one of the only catering business in Northern California with green certification and she was very excited about working with me to have as many local ingredients as possible.

  The food was amazing and our guests were absolutely raving about how great the food and service was. The staff was phenomenal, so professional, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Sue was a delight to work with and the fact that she was doing everything herself (no sales people) made a difference. She was quick to return emails. She was working toward getting environmental certification, but I think she is already there. She did not have any plastic water bottles or cups, yea!
  
  We had the mesquite grilled tequila lime prawns w/ chipotle aioli (YUM), Thai quesadillas with carmelized onions, apple and red chili sauce as appetizers. Buffet dinner: Sea bass with red wine reduction sauce (out of this world), twelve layer yukon gold potato gratin, and grilled seasonal veggies with red pepper aioli.
  
  All of it was a smash hit with the guests. After the wedding, I was showered with compliments about the food! Not only do I highly recommend Trends Catering, but I would contract with her for an event without a second thought.

  Almost everyone at my wedding was head over heels for the food. It was so incredibly delicious and the staff is great. My husband and I were reluctant to spend so much on food (it is the biggest cost of any wedding!) because catering food is usually just mediocre. Sue's food is outstanding. We are giving four stars instead of five, because we thought the business side of the transaction could have gone a bit smoother. When we asked some in depth question about certain line items and how they were calculated, we got a bit of push back and frustration. Overall, the bit of headache we experienced was well worth it for the delicious food!!!
