    The DoubleTree did a wonderful job with our wedding reception! Jen was wonderful during the entire planning process. She was always responsive and helpful. While she was not able to be present during our reception she took great care in documenting all of our needs to ensure that everything was executed exactly as we had requested in her absence. The day of our wedding Angela started decorating the space very early in the morning. When I touched base with her around 9am the room was already looking wonderful. She did an absolutely amazing job decorating the space with the extra items we provided in additional to the items that they had on hand. The space looked even more beautiful than I had hoped. Many people we spoke with praised the space and the way everything looked.

    We also received many compliments on the food. Everyone absolutely loved their meals. I would never hesitate to recommend the DoubleTree to anyone looking for a beautiful space and delicious food at a great price.

    We absolutely LOVED working with the DoubleTree for our wedding reception and hotel block. Initially we were working wit Pat Middlebrook (who was excellent) but retired about halfway through our planning process. We were obviously nervous when we heard that Pat was leaving, but her replacement Jen was FABULOUS. The whole team was very responsive and we even met a couple of times over lunch at Trader Dukes which is their on-site restaurant. Jen was friendly, professional, and kept us reassured during the whole planning process. Kelly, the catering manager, and her on-site staff were equally awesome!

    We had about 35 rooms in our room block for the wedding weekend and all of our guests were very pleased with the accommodations. We got married after Christmas and so the room block rates were extremely affordable, (we priced it out with area hotels and the DoubleTree was able to match what each of the other Hilton properties were offering us.) The bridal suite would have been a little small if all of the bridesmaids (3) were planning to get ready in it, but we did our hair and make-up off site, so it wasn't a problem. I know another couple who rented out the Carriage Room downstairs (across from the ballroom) for hair and makeup on-site and that seemed to work well too.

    As far as the ballroom for the wedding - it totally exceeded our expectations. I only wish we had thought to ask for a larger dance floor because our guests were having such a great time dancing, we barely all fit!! We used the centerpieces that the hotel provided, which were hurricane-style candle holders. Because it was around the holidays, they were able to provide little wreaths that went around each holder. I was worried that this might look tacky, but they ended up being brand new and matched our theme (red/white/silver) incredibly well.

    The food was delicious. We served garlic sirloin and roast turkey. Everything came out hot, fresh and very tasty. We had lots of compliments on the food!!

    Jen was great to work with through the whole process, which was about 15 months. We met with Jen 3 times (this includes tasting). We had a few block rooms since a lot of our guests are local, the suite where my bridal party and i got ready is a bit small. There really wasn't much space for hair and makeup but we made the very best of it and to be fair I had 6 bridesmaids.
    We did most of our communication through email and she responded in a timely manner. Jen also works with you when it comes to budget (she gave us several choices for our open bar, we needed up going with a limited open bar which fit our price range.)
    Unfortunately Jen could not stay for our reception due to a family emergency but we had a cousin in charge of our wedding day so she took over. Jen is friendly, accommodating and very professional, we do not regret going with the doubletree.

    Pat, the event coordinator was great to work with. She went over every detail of the reception and the ceremony (we were married in the courtyard) and answered all questions. In response to the previous review, we met three times, in the corner of the restaurant.
    The banquet staff asked frequently during the reception if everything was satisfactory. I would recommend the Doubletree. Great value- no hidden costs.

    Things did not go as planned

    The food was not to be expected. I went to 2 food tasting since the chef had changed. Management also changed and the chef did too again and they never informed me so they food was not made right as expected from our food tasting. Food Plates were not handed out unless the guess was seated. I had to ask for the cake to be cut and handed out which was included with my package and I could never find the sales director/coordinator when I needed her.

    The staff was AMAZING the wedding coordinator was the worst that anyone could have! We were planning a wedding out of state and when we had gotten to Vermont we met with her the Day before the wedding and she not only went over financial with us than but she did it in the lobby of the hotel as guest were coming in and out! The prices went up since we last had talked. She talked to the employees with disrespect in front of our wedding guest. Prices were WAY to high for the quality of the food. $20 pasta dishes didn't come with side dishes. DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE.
