Carrie and Brianna did an excellent job with planning a wedding for me when I hired Touch of Elegance only 2 months before the event. They were responsive to queries, thought of many things I had not thought about. I liked that Carrie listened to what we wanted during our first call instead of asking me a checklist of questions for 20 minutes as other prospective planners did. During the wedding, Carrie was invaluable in setup, planning, communication with vendors, and overall letting us have a great experience. -

Wonderful Experience
We had a wonderful experience working with Carrie and her team! She was exceptionally responsive and it was lovely working with both her and her family on the day of. We had to plan our wedding remotely, and Carrie was absolutely phenomenal at assisting us with our preparations. She kept our insane Indian wedding planning stay on track and provided fantastic recommendations when one of our other vendors fell through!
She was phenomenally calm, thorough, and such a treat to work with. My husband and I were pretty high strung during the entire planning process and it was such a breath of fresh air working with TOE. -

D.C. is lucky to have Carrie in the area. She is so reliable and helpful that I don't know how else I could've done it without her. She went above and beyond and exceeded all my expectations. She's calm and makes you feel like everything is going to be okay- and isn't that the best quality in a coordinator? -

WOW. It's hard to imagine our wedding day without Carrie and her team. Their organization and experience helped our day go off with out a hitch. Carrie is so calm, kind and helpful. She dealt with issues large and small that we experienced. She used many of the vendors that they recommended and they were all wonderful. If I could go back in time and change one thing, I would have had her plan the entire wedding! We used the day of coordination service and it was hands down the best money we spent. The planning software she gave us to use was crucial to our planning. We used it to make seating arrangement and manage RSVPs.
Carrie and her team made our wedding a huge success! -

Other than picking the right spouse, the best decision you can make for your wedding day is hiring Carrie and team. I can't stop talking about how helpful and organized Carrie was and how wonderful it was to know my wedding day was handled. I didn't think twice about setup, or anything on the day of and I can't thank her enough for everything she did.
We have recommended her to multiple people already, but seriously-- if you are at all debating--- JUST HIRE HER. She will make your life so much easier and take the stress of your special day away. Carrie and her team are truly rockstars and I'm so happy we found them for our wedding! -

A touch of elegance and Carrie were fantastic. They were well worth the money just for the day of coordination and work but she also met with me several times, worked with my other vendors and helped keep me on track. Our wedding day was perfect in every sense of the word and most of that was because of her team. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone planning a wedding, especially in Detroit. She is knowledgeable, resourceful, well connected and cares about quality and details. Thank you Carrie and Co! -

I am so pleased with not only the level of service, but how warm and friendly Carrie is. It felt like working with family (minus the drama!) Thank you so much for helping me pull together my vision and making the day run smoothly.
I was amazed at how everything came together and was broken down in a timely manner. The feedback has been positive. My guests had a wonderful time and gushed at how elegant everything was. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Touch of Elegance. Thank you so much for taking the stress of the day off of me so that I could just enjoy the magic of the wedding. My only regret is not hiring you sooner!

Carrie was out of this world! We had a long engagement and I would say I was pretty self sufficient as a fellow amateur in event planning, but she was even able to ruffle my feathers and remind me of things I forgot! I didn't feel an ounce of stress in regards to making sure my event was executed perfectly the day of. It was a pleasure getting to work with her parents too! I would recommend Touch of Elegance to everyone and anyone for any type of event! Thank you so much for everything! -

Carrie and her team were outstanding. Not only did Carrie take care of everything; she was always calm, had the right answers with explanations and was very prompt. Her and her team went above and beyond with the work they performed and they were extremely supportive. They were all very positive and I never heard the words 'no, couldn't or cannot'. Hiring Touch of Elegance for our day-of-wedding coordination was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process. Carrie offered so many creative ideas that I did not think of, and helped me save a lot of money. Our day of coordinator ended up being Jasmine, and she was amazing! She coordinated the day-of setup flawlessly with a multitude of vendors, and her organizational skills blew us away. At no point during our wedding day did we have to worry about any details - we knew Jasmine had it covered. We even ran out of glasses during the reception and Jasmine handled it without us knowing. I heard from multiple guests about how impressed they were with her. I cannot thank Jasmine and Carrie enough for their help making our big day stress free! Worth every penny! -

Jasmine and Carrie are true masters of their craft. While I wanted to do all of the planning- they allowed the freedom of choosing a "day of" package that truly let me relax and enjoy getting married. I could not have survived the day without them! We had one crisis- and they easily averted it, making sure we stayed calm and so so so happy. I can't thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to experience our marriage without worry! -

We hired Touch of Elegance as day-of coordinators for our wedding this past weekend, and they were absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Carrie, the owner, is gracious and responsive, and quickly connected me with my wonderful coordinator Ayman (who is an absolute star and put up with my indecision, wildly busy schedule, and last-minute changes). In addition to confirming details with my vendors and creating a detailed timeline for the wedding day, Ayman and her assistant beautifully organized our rehearsal and ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish on the day of the wedding. Everything went off perfectly, and it was so wonderful not having to worry about the details (big and small!) and having someone to act as a point of contact for vendors, direct guest traffic, manage issues as they arose and keep all of us on schedule. We couldn't be happier, nor could we recommend Touch of Elegance more highly. -

My mother made me get a wedding planner. Thank god I did! Carrie and Diane really helped me find the perfect location, Grosse Pointe War Memorial. I wasn't stressed out at all. Im actually some what of a demanding person atleast thats what my mom says and they truly met all of my expectations. Carrie dealt with me calling 3 or 4 times a week because I was so nervous about making a decision. Diane worked with my mom to make my design a reality. They also helped me with all of my floral arrangemnts and photobooth. When my officiant last minute cancelled on me 2 weeks before the wedding I used Gail Taylor through them and he was amazing! My whole wedidng experience was truly amazing and i could not have done it with out my family and Carrie. Thank you so so mcuh. -

My wife & I both agree that we are SO grateful that Carrie worked with us we would've been SO lost without her! She is by far THE most patient person I know cause I have no idea how she handles the kinds of stress weddings comes with. Now let's take it to our rehearsal date : We had a VERY large bridal party (10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen) and handled the rehearsal very professionally, even when the boys wanted to get loud and crazy, she surely put them in their place. I'm glad she did that, cause it would've been even worse if i had to take matters into my own hands with them. Her and her staff set up our reception venue and handled everything perfectly throughout our program.
Thank you Carrie for all that you and your staff has done to make our wedding dreams come true, STRESS FREE! I highly recommend her to anyone, because she really knows what she's doing & you can really see that she absolutely loves what she does! -

Do yourself (and bridal party) a favor and book the Day Of Planning package. It was so worth the price for us. I knew that this was the best thing I could do for myself, mom, MOH, and husband by the end of our first meeting...little did I know then just how far this team would go for me. Carrie is beyond qualified to handle any event, I am absolutely positive of this. Even when I failed to communicate changes, when I was absent or preoccupied with something else, she had the ability to carry out my vision. I wish I knew just how much I could trust her to complete my vision back then....I would have enjoyed a lot more sleep! But take it from me, not really a bride-zilla but a definite worry-wart, let Carrie throw you the party of your dreams! Just trust her. She knows what she is doing and you will not be disappointed. If any one person has the magic ability to be multiple places at once and 5 steps ahead of you the entire month before your wedding and up until you big day it's Carrie and her phenomenal team. -

I literally showed up to my wedding, looked pretty and had a great time. Katrina took care of EVERYTHING. From setting up the venues (church and receptional hall) to packing the candy vases when the night was over. I can honestly attest that my wedding would have not been as successful or fun had it not been for Touch Of Elegance Events & Designs.
On the day of my wedding, Carrie did all the set-up at the reception, I basically handed her a bunch of trinkets/decorations and her creative eye made the room look better than I could have ever imagined.
Her attention to detail is impeccable and she is very trustworthy and thoughtful. I am grateful beyond words that she was there to make everything run smoothly so that my husband, family, guests and I could enjoy the day. I recommended Touch of Elegance wholeheartedly to anyone considering hiring a wedding event designer. HIRE Touch of Elegance! They are truly the best -

Five stars really does not do this company justice. Touch of Elegance Events & Designs made my wedding a DREAM WEDDING literally! I cant even thank Carrie and her crew enough for my beautiful day. Carrie moved my wedding reception location because the venue I had was not working with her and Carrie wasn't going to settle for anything less than perfect. If I was to write down everything Carrie did for me and my husband I would be going on for DAYS!!! Your wedding day will be everything you imagine and more if you hire Touch of Elegance Events & Designs!!! I did not know Carrie before my wedding planning, but I felt like she was a sister that took control and made my day perfect. I cannot say enough about Carrie and her crew.... THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! It didn't seem overwhelming at first because I didn't know exactly what was needed. All of the small detailed things were all taken care of day after day each time. Even though I was looking to spend as much as we did, it was still worth EVERY penny. I would definitely recommend TOE for the service, availability, professionalism (there were so many times I know I drove her crazy) and time spent. But I'd really have to say I'm glad I hired TOE on this special day. -

Carrie, Gail, and Brianna were totally on-point on our wedding day. When you're dealing with so many vendors, you definitely want people this team on your side. Things aren't going to go perfectly on your wedding day (I believe one of our vendors was late with the set up? See, I don't even know exactly because TOFEE handled it so well!), and having TOFEE at your wedding means that someone will be there to handle all of these snafus so you don't have to. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy my wedding day - it was so great having a team I could trust there. -

Carrie was so nice to work with through the whole process of our day of coordination we hired her team for. Originally we were told we would have two members for our wedding but ended up with one. We did have a smaller wedding but I do think we could have used two helpers since set-up/tear-down was kind of a lot of work. We were told we would have someone to set-up and that they would take care of it. In the end my family ended up doing the set-up since they were not prepared so the volume of stuff I had and that is disappointing. I didn’t really want my family to do any work that day, hence why we hired a day of coordinator. As far as keeping us on schedule and keeping things organized, good work! Things went smoothly as it could. -

Would Not Recommend
I was so disappointed with my services for my wedding, Im surprised the day went as well as it did. My wedding was in June 2019 and we booked Carrie early 2018. After seeing her on a wedding special on tv and chatting with her on the phone I felt what I thought was a connection. I won't lie she talked a good game and the reviews I read were positive but unfortunately I didn't get that experience. I should've known early on when it was too difficult to get in touch with her that there would be an issue. I was super excited about "doing the work" as one of her assistants stressed but doing the work shouldn't have been me asking how long it would take for my personal page of the planning pod site to be ready did it? Doing the work shouldn't have been vendors calling me the week of my wedding asking for the itinerary for the wedding should it? Doing the work shouldn't have been me going to meet vendors, negotiating deals, and creating timelines for my wedding by myself should it? Several phone calls and emails went unanswered for months and when they were returned it was always "I was getting ready to respond or Sorry for the delay" True enough I didn't select a full service planner, but with the partial planning I figured we would've at least received what was listed as a service. Aside from the website and throwing out a few suggestions for vendors (which we didn't use) I received Day of services. And even thats up for discussion because I honestly feel like she left my wedding. I saw her at the beginning and at the end of the night when she was ready to go. I had more interaction with her "assistant" than I did with her. I don't know if that tv special gave her too many clients or if she prefers to work in other states (one excuse for her not answering calls/emails was because she was doing another wedding in another state), or if partial planning (whatever that means) isn't her specialty but I feel I wasn't properly compensated. I didn't even want to pay the remaining balance but my husband said we had to because we signed a contract. Had it not been for him she WOULD NOT have gotten paid. I WILL NOT be recommending her services to anyone but I do wish her well. -

Do not hire! Carrie and her team are a scam! I also placed a review on google as they have scammed not only myself but soo many innocent people!! The have an act-they act soo nice and make you trust them to the point where you feel comfortable paying them. I paid my deposit in January, my wedding is in October and I have NOT heard from them. I WANT my money back! I tried to contact them via emails and phone calls but no reply. I even filed a complaint via BBB-they we’re also unsuccessful reaching the company. I will be taking legal action. -

Extreme caution
I debated writing this review but after reading similar reviews and unsuccessfully trying to resolve issues with Carrie of Touch of Elegance, I feel like people thinking about working with TOE need to be cautioned.
We met a number of planners and ended up choosing TOE because of Carrie’s convincing experience and that she happened to be a former classmate of my husband so we assumed we were in good hands. She connected us to a number of wonderful vendors who were absolutely amazing, however, approximately 6 weeks prior to our wedding Carrie went radio silent. Despite multiple emails, texts and voicemails we heard nothing and had to move forward with changing all of our schedules around to plan and coordinate things on our own.
Approximately 3 weeks prior to our wedding, we received an email from Carrie stating that she was sorry she had been MIA but didn’t have access to email or a phone but was ready to work. At this point though all of our vendors had already stepped up and finalized details with us. We notified her of our disappointment and violation/termination of our contract and requested arefund which she agreed to. Over the course of the next month we sent multiple emails & texts following up on the refund and received no response. We sent a final email explaining that if we did not receive our money back in 48 hours we would report her to the BBB, no response. I filed the complaint and an hour later she “refunded” the money to my mother’s credit card.
After waiting 14 business days per Square’s policy we saw that the money was still not refunded. We went back and checked Square’s policy and if a refund request is submitted 120 days after the transaction Square will not refund it. We followed up again with Carrie after this and have still not received any follow-up.
I would SERIOUSLY CAUTION anyone considering working with TOE, as it is clear they have now on a number of occasions potentially ruined one of the most important days of couple’s lives adding undo stress and burden to an already stressful but should be joyous time -

We hired Carrie for day-of coordination. She was helpful and responsive when we first started working with her. She even recommended a florist, who we worked quite well with.
About 6 weeks before our wedding (the worst possible time), the service we received from Touch of Elegance and Design significantly worsened. After a helpful conversation where we talked through the step-by-step details of what we wanted to happen, we could not reach Carrie for 2 weeks, even though we called and emailed several times. She had not uploaded our timeline or the notes either, so we eventually ended up re-doing the timeline ourselves. Only after the third week when we left a voicemail threatening to take legal action were the notes finally uploaded.
Later, Carrie called us to apologize and say that she was out of the country. By this time, we felt we had done most of the work we paid Carrie to do, but we stuck with her and prayed that the remaining service would be reliable.
Carrie showed up at our wedding rehearsal on time with her father, Gail. It went fine, but it was a strange dynamic because he was taking the lead even though we had never met him before.
On the day of, Gail showed up on time and was helpful in setting up for the wedding and reception. He was accompanied by a young man who was helping but not dressed for a wedding. Carrie did not show up and gave us no indication ahead of time that she wouldn't be there. Because we had not been working with Gail, he did not know some of the things we had requested and my bridesmaids had to fix them when we arrived at the venue. Most of the actual coordination was done by the venue owners.
We would have loved to be able to give Touch of Elegance five stars, because that would have meant that they contributed to the amazing wedding we had. However, if not for the support we got from other vendors, this could have been a disaster if we had solely trusted them with the day-of coordination. -
